Speaker 1 (00:03):
Hello friends, and welcome to bedtime Stories with mister jim O.
I was just getting ready for bed, are you as well?
Oh good? I hope you brushed your teeth and found
all of your comfy things like pillows and blankets and stuffies.

(00:27):
Oh yes, oh good. Well, as long as you have
all those things ready, then it's time for our story.
But first we must close our eyes so that we
can travel to an imaginary world the end Charlie's mothers

(01:00):
as she closed the book, aw said Charlie, disappointed. Can
we read one more? I'm not sleepy yet. Her mom
smiled at her but shook her head. Nope, time for bed.
Let's tuck you in and then it's off to dreamland.
As they walked to her room, Charlie frowned and asked, dreamland.

(01:26):
Where's that? Oh? You know, it's the place where all
dreams live, her mother answered. Charlie climbed into bed, but
she still had more questions. Mom, how do I find dreamland?
Mom looked out of Charlie's window at the night sky.

(01:47):
The stars were twinkling and the moon shone bright tonight.
She told Charlie just follow the moon, then tucked her
in nice and snug and kissed her good night. Charlie
sighed and yawned and looked out her window. She watched

(02:09):
the moon expectantly, waiting for it to do something, but
wasn't exactly sure what. Would it move toward her window
and ask her to follow. Would it speak and give directions?
She waited and waited, the starlight growing weaker as clouds

(02:34):
began to move in the moon had not moved, winked,
or spoken. Still, she waited until finally something happened. The
moon disappeared. No, how will I get to Dreamland now,

(02:56):
Charlie jumped out of bed to get a better look
outer window. Oh, the clouds had taken over the night sky,
making it hard to see much of anything. A bright
flash dipped below the cloud cover, then quickly disappeared the moon.
Come on, clouds, I need to see the moon. I

(03:19):
want to go to Dreamland. The clouds blanketing the sky
remained the same for a moment, and then a few
of them began to wiggle. They wiggled and jiggled their
fluffy selves until they popped loose and dropped down, each

(03:40):
one lower in the sky than the next. The last
cloud to wiggle and pop landed with its belly just
above the grass in Charlie's yard. Charlie wasted no time
climbing out of her window and up onto the first cloud.
Then she reached to squished the fluff of the cloud

(04:03):
above it in both hands, and pulled herself through. Up
and up she went, until the last cloud she had
to climb through was the cloud layer blanketing the sky.
She pulled herself through and saw the moon tucked into

(04:27):
the clouds, snoring. Excuse me, mister moon, asked Charlie. The
moon opened one eye and spotted her. Then both eyes
popped open and he began to zip away in the
opposite direction. Wait, come back, Charlie tried to run after it,

(04:52):
but the clouds were too soft. I felt like trying
to run through cotton candy. How am I going to
get to Dreamland if I can't catch the moon? Are
you trying to catch the moon? I can help, said
a voice behind Charlie. Charlie turned to see a green

(05:15):
shell larger than two Charlie's with two fins and a
friendly face. Are you a sea turtle? She asked in astonishment.
Good guess, but HI more of a sky turtle since

(05:37):
I live up here. Climb on, we can chase after
that moon. He can be pretty tricky to find. He
loves to play hide and seek. Charlie climbed onto the
sky turtle's fin and up onto his hard shell. She

(05:58):
found a round pillow waiting in the middle for her
and sat down on it. Hold on tight. The sky
turtle called to her and began swimming up higher into
the inky black of the sky. They looked out among
the stars in clouds, searching for that tricky glowing globe.

(06:21):
Something bright dipped below the clouds ahead over there, said Charlie,
and the sky turtle responded, zooming towards it and then
dipping fast below the cloud blanket and after the bright light.
The sky turtle swam through the tall trees of a forest,

(06:44):
following the glow. As they got closer, however, hmm, it
looked much too small to be the moon. Hello, hello,
please wait. The glowing light stopped and fluttered in place.

(07:04):
As Charlie and the turtle passed the last tree, they
saw what they thought was the moon was actually a
large sky jellyfish. It's many tentacles waved about as it
floated in place, while our little tutle asked the scared jellyfish,

(07:28):
I'm sorry, we thought you were the moon. Charlie exclaimed,
a but on our us, foller ale, said the jellyfish.
The sky turtle and Charlie floated behind the sky jellyfish,
whizzing the round trees until they were out of the forest.

(07:51):
In front of them was a lake so large that
the water looked like it dropped off and disappeared way
out in the distance. Where the water met the sky.
Something was glowing, hobbling up under the lulk, so about

(08:11):
silver of humples and above the water, said the jellyfish.
Then it waved its tentacles all at once and moved
quickly through the air and out of sight. The sky
turtle and Charlie sailed in the air above the water,
trying to reach the end of the lake where the

(08:32):
moon was peeking out. They zipped above the water past
lake monsters and mermaids who cheered them on, and the
end of the lake was inching closer. They were so
close Charlie reached out to tap the moon to tell

(08:53):
it she had found him and was ready to go
to dreamland. When Charlie heard her mom's voice, good morning, Charlie,
did you have a good night in dreamland? Charlie opened
her eyes to the sun shining through her window, the
light outline of the moon still visible in the sky.

(09:15):
She squinted at it and could have sworn she saw
it wink and then it disappeared. Wow, my friends. As
we all climb into our cozy beds and close our eyes,
may you have very sweet dreams in dreamland. Good Night,
