another group will be next.

founded the Congressional Black Caucus, and was the first Black
chair of the Ways and Means Committee. I'm Amber Payton
with BI in News. Now back to you, Doug.
Speaker 1 (01:29):
Hey, Thanks Amber Moore. From the story that is shaking
the nation today, California US Senator Alex Badia was forcefully
removed by officers while posing questions to DHS Secretary Christy
Noam about the immigration operations in Los Angeles. Padilla held
a news conference and issued a statement to reporters.
Speaker 4 (01:46):
I was almost immediately forcibly removed from the room. I
was forced to the ground and I was handcuffed. I
was not arrested, I was not detained. I will say this.
If this is how this administration responds to a senator
with a question, you can only imagine what they're doing
to farm workers, to cooks. Two day labors out in
(02:07):
the Los Angeles community and throughout California and throughout the country.
We will hold this administration accountable.
Speaker 1 (02:16):
Senator Padia says for quite some time he'd been asking
the Department of Homeland Security for more information and answers
on immigration enforcement and has received little or no details,
which led him to be at that meeting. He said,
it's important for people to know they have the right
to stand up for their First Amendment rights. Now on
to DC. The political battle on Capitol Hill over the

Does taking healthcare away from sixteen million Americans' lower prices

Speaker 6 (02:52):
I'm not sure what that question means the Big Beautiful
Bill again, which coast household? I disagree with the characterization.
Speaker 5 (03:03):
So the answer is no. Under the bill, who gets
the most benefits a billionaire with a complex tax return
or a working parent with one w.
Speaker 6 (03:13):
Two working families will have a growth.
Speaker 5 (03:15):
In fact, mister Secretary, every credible outside estimator says that
the wealthiest win under this proposal, and working people in
the poor lose.
Speaker 1 (03:24):
The strained exchange underscores the deep frustrations among black and
working class voters who are almost convinced that the wealthy
will benefit off of their backs if the Big Beautiful
Bill Act is passed and finally, Black Californians have always
fought for justice, from the Wats riots to Rodney King,
they have always demanded change. Now, is LA's protests against
trump deportation efforts escalate, Kamala Harris is standing somewhat at
(03:47):
the crossroads. Does she still have the back of her people?
Harris believe that most of the protesters are peaceful, but
Republican critics are pushing back, accusing her of downplaying the
destruction made by a few bad actors and hind closed doors.
Eiris is reportedly in strategic talks with Mayor Karen Bass,
who is also black, and Governor Gavin Newsom over de
escalation tactics, and Black voters are watching closely. Stay inform,
