New York City Mayor Eric Adams, now an independent, announces
his re election campaign. Also, in the multi black city
of Gary, Indiana, five people are dead after a train
hits a car, and a hefty reward is being offered
for a missing Oakland woman who the FBI believes is
caught up in a human trafficking ring. But first, here's
bin news now.

As dangerous heat continues to grip much of the country,
health experts are asking residents to stay cool and hydrated.
The summer heat wave is prompting local officials in many
communities to take steps to make sure residents stay safe
and cool. Take Philadelphia, Pennsylvania resident Byron Banks, for instance.

You know, it's real hot out here, so I try
to stay cool as possible, have ice, cold water.

Banks, who is African American, knows what's up. The Supreme
Court is blocking Planned Parenthood from suing South Carolina over
medicaid funding cuts. The decision open the door for other
conservative states to go after Planned Parenthood. Robert f Kennedy
Junior's panel of vaccine experts is voting to recommend a
new vaccine aimed to protect babies from RSV. The Amflosia

shot was approved earlier this month by the FDA and
as close to being widely available ahead of the RSV season.

Thanks. New York City Queens Assemblyman Zoran Mendami pulled off
as surprising victory in New York City's Democratic mayoral primary.
Now Mayor Eric Adams, who was black who made history
as Brooklyn's president before becoming mayor in twenty twenty two,
says he's not done yet. Adams is now running as
an independent and announced his re election bid today. Adams
formerly made the announcement at an event with supporters and

religious leaders of all faiths, representing the city's diverse population.

Look up people from all corners up the city and
different ethnicities and faiths and groups. Not people who read
about me, but people that I have touched individually, that
I studied in hospit that I looked at their families

Adams, who overcame legal hurdles, now faces a four way race,
and with the general election set for November fourth, New Yorkers,
especially black voters, will be watching to see which candidate
truly speaks to their needs and concerns. Meanwhile, now out
of Gary, Indiana, five people are dead after a south
Shore commuter train struck an suv.

This man heard the collision last night near Highway twenty
in Utah Street. I was just getting on the shower.

I heard a loud boom, and then I just heard
a lot of commotion.

I heard some people talking, some concerned people over here,
and then when I came out, that's when I heard
what really happened. A witness told authorities that the driver
went around a crossing gate with the intent to beat
the train. So how Shore service was temporarily suspended, but
is back up and running again today. I'm Perry Williams.

All right, Thanks Perry, And finally, in the world where
black girls too often go missing without headlines, the case
of Oakland, California's Heaven McGee is a painful reminder. The
twenty one year old disappeared in January and now the
FBI believe she may be a victim of human trafficking.
Human trafficking is a brutal crime and praise on the
most vulnerable and isolates victims from there from those who

care about them the most. She was last seen in
stocked in. Her mother, Tamisha, is pleading with the public
for help to.

help me and those who love having to find her now.

With a ten thousand dollars reward and tips still coming in,
Oakland Police and the FBI are teaming up to find McGee.
She's five feet tall with black hair, brown eyes, and
tattoos that say Aaron Pryor and Daris the Third, along
with butterflies extracross chests. Authorities are urging anyone with information
about McGee's whereabouts to call the FBI at eight hundred
