All right, thanks, it's a return to the Don. Don Lemon,
that is, the former CNN host is back in the
spotlight to promote his new book called Once I Was Lost,
My Search for God in America. While speaking on MSNBC,
he called out what he describes as maga hypocrisy and
now he feels President Trump and his supporters weaponized Christianity.
Speaker 3 (01:34):
Well, they're trying to make us into a theocracy, which
is a whole reason behind the book. Donald Trump is
not just the president of the United States. He has
become a martyr and he has been chosen by God
to lead America and lead the world. It is even
more so dangerous, more so dangerous for our country. I mean,
look look at what Ted Cruz said.
Speaker 1 (01:49):
All right, let's take a listen to what the Texas
Senator said during a recent interview with Tucker Carlston. Courtesy
of MSNBC. I was taught from the Bible.

Side of things. Lemon, as if there is supposed to
be a separation of church and state.
Speaker 3 (02:08):
We're not supposed to be governing based on religious values
or what the Bible says. That should be frightening. And
I am a believer. Say I'm a believer, I am
a Christian, and I don't think that I should be
pushing my religion my values to laws in this country.
Specific I'm a lawmaker.
Speaker 1 (02:22):

and religion in modern America. Meanwhile, in New York City,
Queen's assembly men'soul A round Mandani, pulled off a surprising

all faiths. Representing the city's diverse population.
Speaker 4 (02:54):
Look up people from all corners of the city and
different ethnicities and faith and groups. Not people who read
about me, but people that I have touched individually, that
I studied in hospitals with that I looked at their
families and made their lives better. Look at the display
that's here of different languages and different cultures. All of
(03:17):
us wanted the same thing. I'm so proud to be
here to say to the people of the City of
New York. I am seeking re elections to be your
mayor of the City of New York.
Speaker 1 (03:30):
Adams, who overcame legal hurdles, now faces a four way
race with a general election set for November fourth. New Yorkers,
especially black voters, will be watching to see which candidate
truly speaks to their needs and concerns. And finally, we
all know that black hair is power. And Missouri lawmakers
who are on the brink of finally passing the Crown
Act after it was first introduced by African American State
(03:52):
Senator Barbara Washington in twenty twenty. The bill, part of
an anti discrimination package, protects black students in public schools
from being punished for wearing their natural hairstyles. While the
effort to expand the Act to workplaces didn't quite make
it through, this is still a major step as advocates
look to pass a similar measure on the federal level.
