House Democrats will strongly oppose any legislation that does not
decisively address the Republican healthcare crisis.

The House is voting soon to reopen the government, but
millions relying on Obamacare are in limbo. Plus, the black
man accused of running over and killing four people in
the popular Tampa Bay area bar district is hit with
a slew of charges, and former President Obama honors veterans
with a surprise that will never be forgotten. But first,

The Senate has approved a bill to end the government's shutdown,
voting sixty to forty Monday night to keep the government
funded through January.

Speaker 5 (00:39):
On this vote, the eyes are sixty, the nays are forty.
The bill as amended is passed.

Speaker 4 (00:46):
The measure now heads to the House, which is not
expected to consider it until at least Wednesday. Tributes are
pouring in for a Congresswoman, Bonnie Watson Coleman, who announced
she will not be seeking reelection. The first black woman
elected to Congress from New Jersey, says it's time to
pass the torch to a new progressive voice. Governor Phil
Murphy praised the eighty year old trailblazer for over fifty

years of fearless service, and Sean Ditty Colms is denying
reports that he was caught with homemade alcohol in prison.
TMZ originally claimed he was busted with a mix made
from Fanta sugar and apples, but his reps called the
story false, saying he's focused on self improvement and returning
to his family. Diddy is currently serving a four year

All right, thank you, good afternoon, and happy Veterans Day.
The House is expected to vote, possibly by Wednesday, on
a bill who and the government shut down, but the
deal leaves a major issue unresolved, the future of health
care subsidies under the Affordable Care Act. Democrat Andy Kim,
who voted no, tel CNN He's worried about the millions
of Americans who could lose coverage, especially black families who

rely on those credits to stay insured.

Speaker 3 (01:54):
Well, what has happened in the Senate chamber was an
absolute disgrace. I just say I can stressed enough. I'm
just sof and just what's going to happen to so
many people.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
House Minority Speaker Hakeem Jeffreys one that Republicans are trying
to strip away Affordable Care Act protections and that Democrats
must hold the line for Americans who need a voice
that echoes their health cost concerns.

Speaker 2 (02:16):
House Democrats will strongly oppose any legislation that does not
decisively address the Republican healthcare crisis. We want to reopen
the government, but we have a responsibility to make sure
that we extend the Affordable Care Act tax credits so
that tens of millions of Americans don't experience dramatically increase
health care costs.

Speaker 1 (02:35):
House Speaker Johnson says that even if the bill passes,
there's no guarantee of a future voting on Obamacare. With
just a two vote margin, Johnson needs every single House
Republican on board. Some feel that will not likely happen. Meanwhile,
on to Tampa, Florida, where twenty two year old African
American style of Sampson is facing nearly a dozen charges
after a deadly crash and ebor City. Sampson stood in

front of a judge to receive the charges.

Mister Sampson, you are charged with aggravated fleeing to elude
with serious bodily injury or death one two, three, four
counts of that, which is a first degree felony. You
are also charged with vehicular homicide and leaving the scene
one two, three, four counts of that.

Samson was speeding down Seventh Avenue, a night life strip
lined with bars and clubs, when he lost control and
slammed his car into the patio of Bradley's. Four people
were killed and many were injured. Among the dead African
American Sherman Jones, his family still dealing with the pain,
telling w FLA News, Yeah, I'm heard, I'm heard. In
court he made statements like I made a mistake and

just get me to jail. Advocates they're calling for retractable
barriers to protect patrons and more police patrols. And finally,
former President Barack Obama surprise Korean and Vietnam War veterans
by boarding their honor flight in Washington, d C. He
greeted every single veteran, thanked them for their service, and
handed up presidential challenge coins, a gesture that brought on
tears of joy and smiles across the faces of the veterans,

and for many black veterans, especially those who served under segregation,
the presence of Obama was more than presidential. It was personal.
