broke rank during the House's vote to reopen the government
with a temporary spending plan that leaves out ACA tax credits.
Came Jeffries appeared on MSNBC Today and laid it out.
Plane and Simple Democrats did their part to end the
forty three day government shutdown.

Our position from the very beginning was clear. We wanted
to find a bipartisan pask forward to enact the spending
agreement that actually meets the needs of the American people.
But we could not support a partisan republican spending bill
that continues to got the healthcare of the American people.

Jeffries thank federal workers who went weeks without pay and
called the shutdown cruel and unnecessary, especially for the families
relying on food assistance, many of them who are black.
In retaliation, Democrats filed a discharged petition, which is an
effort to bypass Republican leadership and force a direct vote
on keeping Obamacare tax credits alive for another three years.

Well over the last several weeks, several Republicans have gone
on records saying that they understood the need to extend
the Affordable Care Act tax credits. What the American people
who are in the middle of open enrollment right now,
they may see increases in their health insurance of one
thousand or two thousand dollars per month.

The petition needs two hundred and eighteen signatures, but many
are calling it a procedural longshot. Meanwhile, the BIN follow
