Thank you, good afternoon, and happy Thursday. After more than
a month, the government shut down is over, but the
fight for healthcare continues, with Democrats taking bold steps. Democrats
filed a discharged petition to force a floor vote on
a three year extension to Obamacare subsidies. Hakeem Jeffreys took
to MSNBC earlier today.

Speaker 4 (01:37):
Well over the last several weeks, several Republicans have gone
on records saying that they understood the need to extend
the Affordable Care Act tax credits. What the American people
who are in the middle of open enrollment right now,
they may see increases in their health insurance of one
thousand or two thousand dollars per month.

Speaker 1 (01:53):
It's an uphill battle, with some saying it will never happen.
Last night six, Democrats broke rank to pass a temporary
funding measure to reopen the government minus the extension of
ACA premiums. Jeffries, disappointed, said Democrats did their part to
reopen the government.

Speaker 4 (02:06):
Opposition from the very beginning was clear. We wanted to
find a bipartisan path forward to enact the spending agreement
that actually meets the needs of the American people, but
we could not support a partisan, Republican spending bill that
continues to gut the health care of the American people.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
Jeffries called the shutdown cruel and stood by federal workers
and families deeply impacted by the shutdown. Meanwhile, Reverend Jesse Jackson,
the naturally renowned civil rights leader and founder of the

Brain doctor doctor Puja Sulez explains the news for jacks
that it's similar to other neurological diseases.

It's very similar to Alzheimer's disease. There is one certain
molecule and protein molecule in the brain that starts to
develop and that tox City City starts to kill the
brain cells until the brain starts to shrink and develop
abnormalities with thinking, with movement, with walking, but clinically it
looks very similar to Parkinson's. Parkinson's is more physical problems

(03:17):
with movement and coordination and walking.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
The Jackson family and Rainbow Push have given statements asking
for the public to keep him in their prayers during

doctor Martin Luther King Junior, and the founding of the
Rainbow Push Coalition, made him a leader that Black America
needed and loved. And finally, Homeland Security Secretary Christy Norman

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
