Speaker 1 (00:02):
Bion News. This hour of Doug Davis coming up. Now
that the government has reopened a new house repgor Hall
that signed the Epstein petition, the House is set to
vote on ABIL to release the files. Plus Yeah, I was.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
Deeply in love with that man.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
Akira Montague breaks her silence after winning a one point
seventy five million dollars lawsuit against Black TikTok star Brene Cunard,
and the Trump administration drops Supreme Court fight over snap funding.
But first, here's bion News now.

Speaker 2 (00:28):
Florida State Board of Education is reviewing Alachua County School
Board member Teina Certain's online comments about Charlie Kirk. Certain,
who was black, called Kirk an uneducated white boy in
a Facebook post and says the investigation is viewpoint discrimination.
My context was to use the same language that Kirk
used to expose the bias of his own rhetoric. She
admits the wording was poor, but stands by her criticism

(00:50):
of his rhetoric. The Board's investigation is ongoing and the
district is covering her legal costs. The federal government shutdown
is over after President Trump signed a funding bill. Black
Maryland Governor Wes Moore criticized Republicans for framing it as
a choice between government funding and healthcare. He says Maryland
helped families through the shutdown and that Washington needs to
do its job without hurting working people. And Brazilian officials

(01:11):
say they'll arrest Kanye West if he performs his song
Hail Hitler at his South Paolo show later this month.
TMZ reports prosecutors ordered officers to detain him if he
performs it or makes pro Nazi statements. The show is
set for November twenty ninth. I'm Amber Payton with bi
in News. Now back to you, Doug, all right.

Speaker 1 (01:27):
Thank you, and Happy Thursday. A crucial vote next week
could unlock long hidden Epstein case files and demands for justice.
House members will decide on legislation spearheaded by Democrat ro
Kana and Republican Thomas Massey to release thousands of pages
of documents tied to Jeffrey Epstein and his associate Geeland Maxwell.
The bill, support from both sides of the island, aims

(01:48):
to not only expose Epstein's crimes, but also the powerful
people entangled in his web, including suspicions around President Trump.
NBC's Peter Alexander Reports. On one particular email.

Speaker 3 (01:58):
Epstein continuing to run and Trump in later emails, writing
in twenty fifteen to a New York Times reporter quote,
would you like photos of Donald and girls in bikinis
in my kitchen? The White House pushing back the President,
calling the story a hoax on social media, arguing Democrats
are trying to deflect on how badly they've done on
the shutdown.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
Among the records to be released, flight logs, communications about
document tampering, and names of prominent figures. Advocates believe this
vote could begin hearings for survivors long ignored. If passed,
the bill would then head to the Senate for final
passage before it hits President Trump's desk. Meanwhile, in the
legal case that made headlines nationwide, African American Nikira Monague

(02:39):
spoke for the first time exclusively to ABC eleven News
after being awarded one point seventy five million dollars for
damages for black TikTok influencer Brene Canard. The lawsuit, filed
in North Carolina, arose from an affair Canard had with
Montague's husband, played out not just behind closed doors, but
through her boasting about it on social media. Montague tells

(02:59):
the news outlet about the pain she's been going through
that's even affected her children. Those horrible like I can't
even right now.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
I don't like going out in public with my kids
because I'll get stopped in the store.

Speaker 1 (03:10):
Go. I can't have phone.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
My kids to its day because people harass me and them.

Speaker 1 (03:17):
So it's like it's hard. North Carolina's unique alienation law
allows Montague to hold Kindard accountable for interfering with her marriage.

Speaker 2 (03:24):
Yeah. I was deeply in love with that man that
I would do anything for him. I made sure that
I put him first, and I shouldn't have.

Speaker 1 (03:36):
Monugue adds that she's in a rebuilding stage and is
returning to work along with focusing on obtaining her college
degree while creating a solid home life for her kids.
And Finally, as the longest government shut down in US
history came to an end, the Trump administration withdrew its
emergency Supreme Court appeals seeking to delay full payments to
Snap users. The law now requires the government to resume

(03:57):
full funding of Snap, which supports millions of Americans, many
who are black, struggling to feed their families. Snap serves
roughly forty two million Americans. Stay informed, stay connected, and subscribed.

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
