Trump is eyeing a fifty year mortgage concept to help
young buyers step into home ownership. HUD Secretary African American
Scott Turner tells Fox News and ideas such as this
would be a boost to the economy.

Speaker 5 (02:40):
The average age right now is forty years old for
first time home buyer, and we know that that is
not sustainable. I mean I hear from young people all
the time, you know, how am I going to be
able to afford a house? And I like how Secretary
Bessines said, you know, increasing wages and people taking home
more and that comes from getting our fiscal house.

What really matters us, what makes sense for our country,
what's the appropriate policy to put in place and going forward?
So I think at the end of the day, when
we make a decision from our standpoint at HUD, we
have to protect the house and market and also protect
mortgages that are backed by the American tax payers. So
that's really our focus right now. But I believe that
a great solution will come out of the people that

(03:28):
are at the table.

Speaker 1 (03:29):
Just over forty three percent of Black Americans own homes,
even less they're younger in age and don't earn the
same amount of money that young white Americans do. Systemic
barriers to home ownership among Black Americans continue to hamper
our buying power that no single policy can fix. And finally,
in another heartfelt effort to balance to financial skills at
college institutions, billionaire philanthropists Mackenzie Scott just dropped sixty three

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
