Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome into episode one, one hundred and thirty of Bring
Heaven Down. My name is Tim and I'm the host
of this daily devotional podcast that shows up in your
feed Monday through Friday. Thank you for choosing Jesus today.
And recently we've been going through a parenting series and
(00:27):
discussing our responsibility as parents, and as I've been preparing
subjects and talking about the blessing that children are, I
can't help but think about those people and maybe you're
(00:51):
one of them, or if you're not, I'm sure you
know someone that has that has for trials and gone
through suffering while they anticipate being a parent. And what
(01:12):
I'm discussing is a miscarriage. I'm not going to pretend
I know what you are going through because I personally
have never gone through a situation like that with my wife.
(01:37):
But what I can share is that I'm really, really
sorry and my heart aches for those that desperately want
to have children but yet for some reason, have struggled
(02:03):
through this. And I found some items online to help
me navigate this subject because although I haven't gone through
it personally, I think it is an important one to
talk about because it is a heart wrenching subject. It
(02:28):
is a topic that can make someone angry with God,
I could imagine. So as we discuss being parents, well,
I can't leave out those that have wanted to be
or are but have had struggles or sufferings along the way.
(02:55):
And I found this item on got question ones dot org.
It's one of my favorite resources. I searched miscarriage and
here's what it had to say. It says this, any
believer who has suffered a miscarriage should have faith in
(03:19):
the glorious hope of one day seeing their child again.
An unborn child is not only a fetus or a
piece of tissue to God, but is one of his children.
That is an amazing hope. And a phrase that has
(03:41):
been really in my head recently is the phrase that
the apostle Paul wrote in the New Testament. To die
is gain, and of course to die is gain because
you get to be with Jesus in heaven. Your imperfections
(04:03):
are gone, but you're also reunited with those that you love.
The peace continues. Jeremiah one point five says that God
knows us while we are still in the womb. Lamentations
three point thirty three tells us that God does not
(04:25):
enjoy hurting people or causing them sorrow. Jesus promised to
leave us with a gift of peace, unlike any that
the world can give. Romans eleven thirty six reminds us
that everything exists by God's power and is intended for
his glory. Although he does not inflict suffering on us
(04:48):
for punishment, he will allow things to come into our
lives that we can use to bring glory to him.
Jesus said, I have told you all this so that
you may have peace in me. Here on earth. You
will have many trials and sorrows, but take heart because
I have overcome the world. John sixteen thirty three. I
(05:14):
know it's impossible to take away all the pain that
you or a loved one has gone through with a miscarriage.
But what I can do is point you forward to
(05:36):
an everlasting hope that we will all experience one day,
and I hope that brings you joy and a certain
amount of peace in a situation that can cause so
much pain. Thank you for listening to this podcast today,
(05:59):
and I hope that was encouraging for you. I know
it's a very difficult and challenging subject, but I felt
led to talk about it today,
