Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome in the episode one hundred and thirty one of
Bring Heaven Down. My name is Tim and I'm the
host of this daily devotional podcast that shows up in
your feed Monday through Friday. Today, I want to discuss
something that really isn't controversial at all, but is more
(00:23):
so sad because the world sees it as one way
and God clearly sees it as a different way. And
the topic that I want to discuss is abortion, because
(00:49):
abortion is happening at an alarming rate. You pull up
the numbers yourselves online and it's one of the saddest
statistics that you could ever read. And the Bible is
clear that abortion is not godly, but in fact murder.
(01:19):
When I've held our babies in my hand for the
very first time, one of the first thoughts that i
have is, I cannot believe that this many people want
to kill babies, this little innocent thing. Psalm one thirty
(01:46):
nine thirteen says this, for you formed my inward parts.
You knitted me together in my mother's womb. God knows us.
In our mother's womb means we are already loved before
we are born. And there are companies I'm sure worth
(02:11):
millions and millions of dollars, if not billions, that rake
in the dough for being a proponent of abortion. But
what they do is they call it something different to
(02:31):
make it not sound so bad. It's planned parenthood, and
it's really sad because you are taking a life away.
And there's really nothing that you can compare this to
to get a sense of what you're doing. The only
(02:56):
thing that you can really think about is what if
that was you? What if you were in your mother's
womb and your mother decided to abort you. How would
that make you feel? What if you were not alive
right now? You could use that argument against anybody. I
(03:16):
do want to be clear, though, because although abortion is
one of the saddest things that I see, and it
is a passionate subject of mine, I do want to
make it clear that although abortion is everything that I
said it was, there is also forgiveness. If this is
(03:42):
your story, there is no sin too great or too
large to be unforgiven, and there's also no deed so
great are so good that you don't need to be forgiven.
Every single one of us fall short. The Bible says
(04:04):
that none is righteous, not one that means I'm not righteous,
you're not righteous, and we are all on the same
playing field. We all need Jesus, we all need his love,
we all need his forgiveness, and there is no grading
of sin. Sin is equal. Although I'm passionate about abortion,
(04:28):
I sin just as much as someone that aborted their baby,
and I need forgiveness for that as well. So shame
and guilt does not have to be your entire story.
You can be forgiven, which is the great news. So
(04:53):
if this is your story, or you know someone that
is suffering through the guilt and shame of their decision,
please let them know that there is forgiveness in Christ
because He died for us on the cross and resurrected
three days later for our sin. If we were perfect,
(05:18):
Jesus would not have had to come. But he died
for you, he died for me, he died for all,
And because of that we can come to him, repent,
ask for forgiveness, and we can be set free. And
what's so amazing about God's love is that God can
(05:40):
then use you to speak out about this to others.
And what the even one meant for bad, God can
use for good. So, if abortion is your story and
you feel confer about that. One, I hope you do
(06:03):
feel convicted about that, and two, if you do ask
for forgiveness, repent, and then you can be a voice
to that next person that is wondering if they should
abort their child, so it doesn't have to be your
(06:24):
end story. God can use this for his good. Thank
you for tuning into the podcast today and I hope
it was encouraging for you and I hope it revealed
more and more about our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
I hope you all have a wonderful day.
