Speaker 1 (00:01):
It's awkward. It's Tuesday. It's awkward Tuesday phone call.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
We had a code read email coming to our inbox
the other day, and I knew immediately we had to
drop everything else we were doing and give our attention
to this.

Speaker 3 (00:16):
Okay, but you said it was the other day, so
we like waited a couple days to drop everything.

Speaker 1 (00:20):
Well, you know, in radio time is weird?

Speaker 4 (00:22):
Okay?

Speaker 2 (00:23):
So and I said it because their message mentioned three
little words what Taylor Swift concert.

Speaker 1 (00:31):
Guys, this is serious.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
Yeah, when a listener is having a tailor emergency, we
are obligated to get involved.

Speaker 4 (00:40):
Yeah, rule Taylor emergency. I like it.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
So let's talk to Curtis about it. Curtis, welcome to
the Taylor Swift Emergency help rohim. Are you okay?

Speaker 5 (00:49):
Yeah, I mean but like.

Speaker 3 (00:52):
Okay, okay, okay, are you wait, Curtis?

Speaker 4 (00:54):
Are you the Swiftie?

Speaker 5 (00:56):
I am not? Like that's been kind of a low
Keith Swifty for a while.

Speaker 2 (01:01):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:01):
You know, most of my friends don't really know. I
don't talk about it with most of them.

Speaker 4 (01:05):
But do you know what's funny?

Speaker 3 (01:06):
If you were to bring it up, I can guarantee
probably seventy five percent of them would be like, oh
my god, me too.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
You know, probably a lot of closet mail swifties out there.

Speaker 4 (01:15):
I know a couple of dads that are total swifties.

Speaker 5 (01:17):
Yeah yeah, I mean that makes sense. She's good vibes, right, Like,
I get that why people like her. I mean obviously
I like her too.

Speaker 6 (01:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:23):
Fun music, good vibes, good messaging, great writing, all the things.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
So tell us about the issue. What made you email
us for help?

Speaker 5 (01:30):
Right? So I wanted to see her during the erst
tour and I couldn't get tickets, which suck.

Speaker 4 (01:34):
Yeah, yeah, I know, George.

Speaker 5 (01:36):
Yeah. So I was like, you know, I mean I'll
hear at some point, and I just turned out he
was going to be playing a show up in Vancouver, BC.
Oh cool, yeah yeah yeah yeah, And so I got tickets,
Like it's right for me, I know.

Speaker 3 (01:49):
But you know, I have heard of people flying all
over the world for different concerts for Beyonce.

Speaker 4 (01:56):
Because outside of the US they're.

Speaker 3 (01:58):
Often cheaper as well, and like you end up spending
the same amount of money as you would on a
US tickets.

Speaker 7 (02:04):
Be fun to be, like, We're gonna go to Japan
to see Taylor and yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:08):
Even still, I'm assuming you still have to spend a
lot of money for those tickets, right, Curtis.

Speaker 5 (02:13):
Yeah, it wasn't cheap, you know.

Speaker 2 (02:16):
Okay, well, great you got tickets then, yeah, I thought that.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
Would be the emergency. You need us to score your tickets?

Speaker 4 (02:23):
Oh my god, how many people have asked us.

Speaker 5 (02:26):
Yeah, that's the best part is that's not the emergency. Right.
So the show's December, and this is where it's getting
into the emergency. But my best friends are named Banjie.
She's one of the very few people that knows how
how obsessed I am with Taylor Swift. Okay is getting
married and she scheduled her wedding for the same day

(02:48):
as the concert.

Speaker 1 (02:49):
What, yeah, I know, I know, how could she do that?

Speaker 4 (02:56):
I accidentally, wait, who's scheduled first? You got Taylor Swim first,
or she scheduled her wedding first.

Speaker 5 (03:02):
I got Taylor Swift first.

Speaker 4 (03:04):
Okay, she knew you had tickets.

Speaker 5 (03:06):
Yeah, I told her she knew, But like I also,
I totally get it, right, Yeah, planning a wedding, like
sometimes you're kicking dates and you're like, this is best
for everybody, and it probably slipped her mind.

Speaker 7 (03:15):
Yeah, she doesn't have it in her calendar. My friend's
going to Taylor Swift when she's working in dates.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
Yeah, so that's her fault.

Speaker 2 (03:20):
She should have that in her calendar, your friends social
obligations written down somewhere.

Speaker 1 (03:26):
It's a bad accident.

Speaker 6 (03:27):
I know.

Speaker 1 (03:28):
That's so bad for you in a weird spot.

Speaker 5 (03:31):
Well, and it gets worse because I'm in the wedding party.

Speaker 7 (03:33):
Oh I was going to say, you can't be sick
that day, and then not, well, you have to post.

Speaker 3 (03:39):
I feel like at this point she should have run
a pole, like who in the wedding party is going
to see Taylor Swift?

Speaker 4 (03:44):
I will not hold my wedding on that.

Speaker 5 (03:46):
Date, right, I mean, it's not like the concerts in
the same city as the wedding notes. It's not like
most people are going to go to the same lengths
that I am to see her.

Speaker 4 (03:54):
That's right.

Speaker 1 (03:55):
It's like kind of a you problem.

Speaker 2 (03:57):
Not everybody is as big of a secret Taylor Swift fans.

Speaker 4 (04:02):
When it was.

Speaker 1 (04:05):
First time around. All right, so now where are we at?

Speaker 2 (04:08):
Now?

Speaker 1 (04:09):
What do you want to do with your awkward call here?

Speaker 5 (04:12):
Well, like I said, at the wedding and the concert,
they're both in December, and I want to convince her
to put her her wedding back one day.

Speaker 1 (04:21):
Oh my gosh, you're joking. Yeah, I mean it can
move either dates. They're both set in stone, right.

Speaker 5 (04:30):
No, no, no, no, I mean they just started planning. You know,
it's eight months away. I think the day is doable.

Speaker 1 (04:36):
But the invites already went out.

Speaker 5 (04:38):
No, no, I mean I just know that's because I'm
good friends.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
I still do that.

Speaker 2 (04:44):
Like, that's a lot of nerves to ask anybody to
change their wedding dates so that you could see a concert.

Speaker 4 (04:51):
Well, have you talked to her about it at all?
Have you told her that you're not going yet?

Speaker 5 (04:55):
No? No, I haven't told her yet, Like, okay, wed Bliss,
you know, Like, yeah, that's why I reached out to you, guys.
I need your help figuring out how to tell her.

Speaker 1 (05:04):
You need to confuse her somehow.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
I mean, on Curtis's side, between Taylor Swift and his
friend Angie, Taylor's not going to move that concert, right,
we have a much better chance of convincing Angie to
change her mind.

Speaker 3 (05:15):
I ask, like, if Angie doesn't agree to you, will
you not go to your best friend's wedding for Taylor Swift.

Speaker 5 (05:21):
I mean, I'm going to Taylor Swift.

Speaker 1 (05:25):
You're locked in.

Speaker 4 (05:26):
Yeah, let's not bring that part up.

Speaker 2 (05:29):
Yeah, you've given us a tough assignment, Curtis, and I
like it because it was broken. Jose have to come
up with some really good advice here when we come
back and try to convince your friend to move her
wedding date so that you can see Taylor Swift live
in concert.

Speaker 5 (05:44):
Oh boy, look, it sounds pretty horrible the way you
said it, but I definitely.

Speaker 1 (05:48):
That's what is pretty bad. It's the reality of the situation.

Speaker 4 (05:52):
He's only asking for one day though.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
Yeah, yeah, bride's notoriously reasonable when it comes to their wedding.

Speaker 1 (05:58):
So we'll come back and do it. You're awkward today.
Phone call right after this. It's awkward.

Speaker 5 (06:04):
It's Tuesday.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
It's awkward Tuesday phone call. You know the rules of
awkward Tuesday.

Speaker 2 (06:11):
One of our listeners asks for help, and no matter
how we personally feel about the situation, whether we agree
or disagree, we need to swallow that and try our
best to assist them.

Speaker 4 (06:23):
I actually agree with them, though, Oh well.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
You need you need to swallow that, Okay, don't agree
or disagree, just give advice.

Speaker 1 (06:32):
And today's request.

Speaker 2 (06:34):
It's a little bit of a doozy because personally, I
feel like there's no chance this is actually gonna work.
That's not my advice, that's just my opinion.

Speaker 4 (06:42):
Yeah, you're supposed to swallow the opinion. You just sick.

Speaker 1 (06:46):
I swallowed it, but it came back up.

Speaker 2 (06:49):
Because our listener, Curtis the Closet Swifty, wants to ask
his good friend to move her wedding date because it
lands on the same day he is going out of
town for a tailor.

Speaker 4 (07:00):
Constant, out of the country even and yeah, maybe.

Speaker 2 (07:02):
It wouldn't even be that bad if he wasn't in
the bridal party.

Speaker 4 (07:06):
For you mayn't be that bad about missing.

Speaker 2 (07:09):
Yeah, so how can he convince the bride to push
the wedding date so that he can see brook ideas?

Speaker 3 (07:18):
Okay, I think this is the only way you're going
to get out of this. You have two tickets, right,
Your second ticket is her bridal gift.

Speaker 4 (07:28):
The only way you can do it. Get but listen
what you say.

Speaker 3 (07:33):
What you say is like, oh my god, I got
you this amazing bridal gift.

Speaker 4 (07:36):
I wanted you to experience Taylor with me.

Speaker 3 (07:38):
I had no idea that you were going to plan
the wedding on the same day.

Speaker 4 (07:42):
This is your gift. I didn't even know how to
tell you.

Speaker 1 (07:45):
I like your voice right now. By the way, very.

Speaker 4 (07:50):
That's good.

Speaker 2 (07:50):
I like it is the second ticket taken already.

Speaker 5 (07:54):
I mean, yeah, but we figure that out.

Speaker 4 (07:56):
Yeah, that person is out.

Speaker 1 (07:58):
You tell your mom to rock.

Speaker 4 (08:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (08:02):
Jose, what about you? Do you have any advice for Curtis.

Speaker 7 (08:05):
It just sounds like it's not even on her radar.
If you just drop a couple hints about Taylor in general,
the light bulb will come off. She'll go, oh my god,
wait a minute, you're going to the concert.

Speaker 2 (08:14):
Just let her come to the own realization, because for
people just joining us, he's the one who told her
about the concert first. Yes, he booked the tickets and
she knew all about it, and then she scheduled the
wedding dates. So maybe she just forgot I like Brooks advice.

Speaker 4 (08:28):
I hate to say that, but I mean you.

Speaker 2 (08:30):
Curtis, maybe take a little bit of what Brooks said,
you know, tenC, a little bit of what Jose said,
and we'll be on your side.

Speaker 1 (08:37):
We feel like you need a little bit of help
will jump in, okay.

Speaker 5 (08:41):
Right at the start, all right, he wants to say.

Speaker 1 (08:44):
Hello, we're ready for it. You got this, buddy, bro,
you're gonna see Taylor.

Speaker 5 (08:49):
I yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 (08:52):
And you know Angie secondary to that, but.

Speaker 4 (08:54):
Your friendship, that's the whole point.

Speaker 2 (08:56):
We'll call that gold bee. So I'm dolling Angie for
your right now.

Speaker 1 (09:00):
Good luck, my man.

Speaker 5 (09:09):
Hello, Hey, it's me.

Speaker 8 (09:12):
Hey, I didn't recognize your number.

Speaker 5 (09:15):
That's so weird. I thought I had saved. Yeah, it's fine,
it's my phone's been doing that lay with us, you know.
Oh really, Yeah, you.

Speaker 8 (09:26):
Should really get that fix. That's kind of weird.

Speaker 5 (09:29):
Yeah, totally, I definitely Should's. Well, there, I just want
to call you and tell you I'm super excited because
you were getting married and that is so awesome and
I'm so happy for you.

Speaker 6 (09:42):
Oh my gosh, thank you.

Speaker 5 (09:45):
Wow, oh my god. You're gonna look so great. Like
I'm just thrilled. I'm just thrilled.

Speaker 6 (09:49):
Okay, you're gonna look great because you're in a bridal party.

Speaker 5 (09:55):
I mean, I know, h.

Speaker 8 (10:00):
It will be so fun.

Speaker 5 (10:01):
I know it really is. But I I wanted to
tell you something because I you know, I've been doing
some research. I'm excited about it, so I wanted to
make sure your day was like perfect. Right, you are.

Speaker 8 (10:15):
Such a sweetheart.

Speaker 5 (10:18):
Thank you, I mean thank you. But yeah, so like
I discovered that you picked the most notoriously rainy day
of the year. Oh what yeah? Yeah, And here's something
I know you don't know. There were actually two tornadoes
that happened.

Speaker 6 (10:38):
On that day. Tornadoes.

Speaker 5 (10:40):
Here. I know, I'm really worried that date might be cursed.
It's cursed.

Speaker 6 (10:46):
Yeah, but curdise, I mean, I so appreciate your concerns,
but it's kind of ridiculous.

Speaker 8 (10:52):
I think a day is cursed.

Speaker 5 (10:54):
I don't know. Tornadoes, two tornadoes, two tornadoes. That's like
more than a coincidence, you know.

Speaker 8 (11:01):
Okay, is that all you wanted to tell me?

Speaker 5 (11:04):
Well, that was kind of the big thrust of it.
But the thing is, the day before looks like, celestially speaking,
it's pretty auspicious and like amazing.

Speaker 6 (11:15):
So I'm not getting married on Are you telling me
to get married on Friday?

Speaker 5 (11:21):
I mean that's what the stars said.

Speaker 6 (11:24):
Right, Oh honey, I'm not going to get married on
a Friday.

Speaker 5 (11:28):
Some day. You know, something looks like it's okay.

Speaker 6 (11:30):
Too, Sunday, are you Curtis, why are you doing this
or why are you trying to make me change the
day of my wedding?

Speaker 5 (11:40):
Well, you know, I want it to be as magical
as you are.

Speaker 8 (11:46):
You know, can you just what's going on?

Speaker 5 (11:48):
So you Sturtay, So maybe you remember that I was
excited about seeing Taylor Swift and as your wedding present,
as your like bridal gift I had, I had gotten
you and I kicked to go see her in Vancouver. Yeah, yeah,
I know, But something is the show is the same

(12:10):
day as your wedding. No, yeah, I mean yeah, it.

Speaker 6 (12:17):
Is nod if we have somewhere to be that day, right,
we do?

Speaker 5 (12:21):
We do Vancouver, and that's.

Speaker 6 (12:22):
The no, No, that's the biggest day of my life.
You're going to be there and yeah, and you're in
the party.

Speaker 5 (12:32):
Totally, totally one of the biggest days of your life.
That makes perfect sense. But don't forget this is also
a big day for me, probably one of the biggest
days of my life.

Speaker 6 (12:41):
You you've got to be kidding me right now.

Speaker 5 (12:46):
I mean, all right, you know what, here's an idea.
What if we do your wedding at like nine am. Oh,
you and I can hook it to Vancouver and catch
the show that night.

Speaker 1 (13:01):
Well, Curtis, you were so angie.

Speaker 6 (13:06):
Hey, Curtis, Yeah, you're the people.

Speaker 2 (13:11):
The people are a radio show called Broken Jeffrey in
the Morning. Yeah, and we're helping Curtis trying to navigate
this sticky situation.

Speaker 1 (13:19):
He's gotten himself into.

Speaker 4 (13:22):
Listen to what he did for you.

Speaker 3 (13:23):
Did you hear that he got you a ticket to
see Taylor Swift as your bridal gift.

Speaker 1 (13:28):
That's like one hundred thousand dollars gifts.

Speaker 8 (13:30):
This is on my wedding day.

Speaker 6 (13:31):
You do realize that that's the only day that I
can't go.

Speaker 3 (13:35):
You bought the tickets before he knew when your wedding
day was.

Speaker 7 (13:38):
Yeah, exactly would you be willing to get married in
the crowd of a Taylor Swift concer?

Speaker 4 (13:43):
Oh my god, that would go so viral.

Speaker 2 (13:44):
Actually, Taylor actually love she'd probably bring you up on stage,
your genius, Jose Just.

Speaker 5 (13:51):
I mean, I don't have te tickets. I don't even
have a third one for the groom.

Speaker 1 (13:56):
Groom doesn't need to be there.

Speaker 4 (13:58):
This is my groom is outside. Just facetiming.

Speaker 6 (14:02):
Oh there you go, everybody, this is my wedding and
nobody gets to decide me.

Speaker 4 (14:11):
Yes.

Speaker 2 (14:12):
Look, Angie, the whole reason that we want to call
you and help Curtis with this is because your wedding
does actually mean a lot to him.

Speaker 4 (14:20):
Yes, he's so conflicted.

Speaker 2 (14:22):
You're one of the few people in his life who
knows about his Taylor Swift obsession, and he's been waiting
like a whole year just to get the chance to
see her. The fact that the two dates coincide with
each other is pretty devastating to him.

Speaker 8 (14:35):
Okay, all right, I'm not going to hold you back
from going to see the concert. I am going to
release you from your responsibilities.

Speaker 4 (14:48):
Don't believe it. My friend said this and I had
to be there. They released you from being brides.

Speaker 1 (14:54):
Yeah, you still had to show up.

Speaker 4 (14:56):
Wait, you couldn't move the date. I mean, we heard
the invitations of it on out yet. I know it's
allowed to ask, but.

Speaker 8 (15:03):
No, I'm not moving the date. But Cis, I love you,
and I'm I'm going to release you from your obligation.

Speaker 3 (15:11):
I know it doesn't feel perfect like that feels like
when your parents say we're just disappointed.

Speaker 1 (15:17):
I'm like, no, Curtis, you got what you wanted. You
get to go to see Taylor.

Speaker 5 (15:22):
Yeah, but I can tell she's mad and it's going.

Speaker 4 (15:26):
To be tainted. Now, it's going to be a tainted
Heris tour.

Speaker 5 (15:31):
You know what, you know what Taylor would do in
this situation, She would go to the wedding and not
as much as I want to go do then you're
more important to me than she is. I want to
be at the wedding.

Speaker 1 (15:46):
You're going to ditch the Taylor concert.

Speaker 5 (15:50):
I don't see anywhere out of it.

Speaker 1 (15:52):
Oh, Angie, look at that.

Speaker 4 (15:54):
What a good friend.

Speaker 2 (15:56):
So much to Curtis. He's blowing off Taylor Swift to
be with you.

Speaker 8 (16:00):
Yeah, I'm happy because I need him there. I need
him on my wedding.

Speaker 4 (16:07):
I told you it was a trap. Broking Jeffrey in
the morning.
