In your Phone Tap, instead of performing the service promised, Jeff's gonna just tarp off a woman’s roof and call it good. Hope that’s okay!

Speaker 1 (00:00):
It is phone tap time, and we've been conspiring with
a lady's husband for weeks so that we could do
this at the perfect time. Okay, timing is everything in
these just because the thing is they're having some workers
over to reshingle their roof today, which normally that's a
project that takes several days to complete. So imagine her

(00:20):
surprise when we call her just twenty minutes after she
left her house to tell her, Hey, it's finished twenty
minutes quick, and the only reason we got it done
so quick is because of the Fall Special.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
You'll find out what that is in your phone tap.
Next another Tony, I'm moving ninety two five. Hello, hey Gina,
we're all done here.

Speaker 3 (00:47):
I'm sorry? This is this? What? What is this?

Speaker 1 (00:49):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (00:49):
Hi?

Speaker 1 (00:50):
Sorry, I'm I'm one of the roofers. You talk to
Marty about twenty minutes ago before he left for work.

Speaker 3 (00:56):
Right, Yeah, I did that was Yeah.

Speaker 2 (00:59):
He told me to call you and let you know
that we're all finished.

Speaker 3 (01:03):
How wait, how are you finished?

Speaker 2 (01:05):
I just left it.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
Actually, it turned out to be easier than we thought
it would be. Plus with the Fall Special that you
signed up for, you know, that's a much different project.
Than actually putting shingles on.

Speaker 3 (01:15):
Okay, I'm a little confused here and I'm starting to
freak out. Can you please elaborate.

Speaker 1 (01:22):
I mean, we're finished, like I said, and all that
you have to do now is depending on the wind
or if it's like a stormy day, just use the
ladder on the side of the house, go up and
adjust the zip ties.

Speaker 3 (01:33):
I'm sorry what you mean zip times. I've never had
to do anything with zip time.

Speaker 1 (01:39):
I'm I'm sorry. I thought Marty explained this to you.
You know when you got the Fall Special, you got
five hundred dollars off.

Speaker 3 (01:46):
Yeah, well that means.

Speaker 1 (01:48):
What that means is we don't do anything about your
old leaky roof. We just cover the whole thing in
a giant sheet of plastic wrap and zip tie it.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
To the gutters.

Speaker 3 (01:58):
That's not a real thing.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
I do understand, like cosmetically, it's not the best to look,
but it does work for a few weeks at least.

Speaker 3 (02:06):
This isn't say no, I need the roof actually fixed.
This was not discussed with me.

Speaker 1 (02:11):
Well, it was written down for you on the paper
that you signed for the Fall Special. I'm sorry, I
thought you understood what was happening.

Speaker 3 (02:18):
Why would you think that I would want.

Speaker 1 (02:20):
To tarp or actually a tarp would be better. It's
a little more durable the plastic.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
It's kind of easily r.

Speaker 3 (02:27):
Is happening.

Speaker 2 (02:29):
It's true.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
Most people don't buy the Fall Special, so I was
a little bit surprised that you did. Obviously, the marty
said that it was a go, so we just got
to work.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
Okay, listen, I am so angry right now.

Speaker 1 (02:42):
On man, we haven't even talked about the guarantee where
if you find any holes or rips in the plastic
wrap within the first seven days, will actually drive by
your house and throw a roll of duct tape into
your front yard.

Speaker 2 (02:54):
How about that?

Speaker 3 (02:55):
This has got to be some sort of horrible joke.
How is it's impossible?

Speaker 2 (03:00):
I'm sorry, ma'am, it's not a joke.

Speaker 1 (03:03):
So we've already processed your initial three thousand dollars deposit,
and we'll need the other str dollars and.

Speaker 3 (03:09):
All I get is a not even tarp. Are you insane?

Speaker 1 (03:13):
You know it's six thousand dollars total, so we're gonna
need that other three by the end.

Speaker 3 (03:16):
Of the business, tw thousand dollars. You even put a
shingle on. The whole thing is a scam. That's what
this is.

Speaker 2 (03:23):
Dam ma'am.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
Please, I I'll have you know that we used the
best zip tize money could buy. Oh my god, astronauts
use these zip ties in space to hold the toilet
lid on so it doesn't float away.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
Stop.

Speaker 3 (03:35):
Stop, you better talk to Marty or ma'am whoever's in charge.
Have him come over my house right now and fix
the roof.

Speaker 2 (03:43):
Okay, well, I will let him know that.

Speaker 1 (03:45):
Oh my god, I will warn you though, the timeline
for a real roof installation we're looking at about eight
months out.

Speaker 3 (03:53):
You have got to being me.

Speaker 1 (03:54):
I mean, that's why we only had time to put
on the fall plastic graft special.

Speaker 3 (03:58):
Oh my god, this has got to be some kind
of Joe. There's no way this is possible. There's no
way to life right now.

Speaker 1 (04:04):
I do understand, and I hear your frustration. But while
I have you on the phone, could I interest you
in signing up for the winter special.

Speaker 3 (04:11):
I'm gonna kill somebody like right now.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
Well, that's where we that's where we come by. You
don't even know what it is.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
It's where we come by and put on an extra
layer of plastic wrap over the first layer, and we'll
throw in a prank call for free.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
What that's generous of us?

Speaker 3 (04:26):
You know, what are you talking about? This doesn't make sense.

Speaker 1 (04:29):
You know, a prank call courtesy of your husband, Mitch.
I don't really work for the roofing company. I'm a
radio host named jeff from Brook and Jeffrey in the Morning.
This is a phone tap.

Speaker 3 (04:41):
I'm sorry, what what what is happening right now?

Speaker 1 (04:44):
We didn't put plastic on your roof. This is all
a prank call. Your husband, Mitch said that you guys
had a bunch of people over to put on a
new roof, and he thought it'd be funny to say
that they were done in twenty minutes.

Speaker 2 (04:59):
Bo I mean, it's cheap, but it is fast.

Speaker 1 (05:05):
But those astronauts zip ties, those are high quality.

Speaker 2 (05:10):
How do you how do you think they hold the
space station together?

Speaker 3 (05:13):
That's not how that works. Wake Up every Morning was
boom taps weekday mornings on the twenties. Brooke and Jeffrey

Are You A Charlotte?

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
