That was definitely a difficult promise for us to keep
with today's caller, especially when he told us about the
big surprise he planned for his date night. I will
tell you there was a blindfold involved and a little
bit of deception. But he swears it went even better
than he had planned and she loved it too. You're
gonna hear it in your second date update. Right after

this second Date up date, a guy named Chris wrote
us saying he's made a rule to never ask a
woman out ever again.

Really after whatever happened that he's on the phone with
us for before, I'm just reading this from his email.

But Chris explained he learned a new strategy from a
video that he saw where if you're a guy and
you say, hey, would you like to go out to
dinner with me on Saturday night? Yeah, you're already putting
yourself at a disadvantage right there. Why Because in the
woman's mind, she is thinking, if I say yes, then
I'm doing him a favor and he's gonna end up

having a great night because of me.

Wait, she's not thinking, Wow, I'm really excited to us
free meal.

Yeah, she's thinking. She's thinking I was going beyond the meal.
She's thinking if I say yes, then I'm giving him
the gift of spending time with me. If I say no,
then this loser has nothing going on in his life.
He is going to spend the entire evening all alone
in his apartment, watching Netflix and eating old pizza.

I don't know's I don't think that's how women think.

Even if that's not true, that's what he says, that's
what a lot of women think. So instead, he uses
a different strategy that makes him look really really good
when he asks people out all right, I want to

put the idea into the girl's head that you have
a life outside of her, that she's not the only
thing that's happening. And her answer isn't going to change you.

Yeah? So this worked on Gina girl I met online
on one of the apps. Very funny. Her and I
were talking. Both had a sense of humor.

have planned that she could join you for?

So I invited her this place that was opening that
was serving some amazing seafood.

Okay, you're like, oh, I'm going to check out this
new seafood place. You want to come with?

But I said, listen, we have half an hour, Like
you gotta get ready now, you know a little bit
of urgency.

Maybe a girl I'd be like, yeah, dog, some food.

I mean, I feel like I would say yes just
because of the pressure. No matter what you're wearing, I
don't have.

So she was up for it.

She was up for it, so I pick her up.
She looked good. I looked good, and I told her,
I said, listen, I'll drive. Get in the car. I'll
drive us there. And we were almost there. I like it,
keep going, I said, listen, put on this blindfold because
where we're going it's going to be a surprise, and

two years, but the first date.

I take the blindfold off, and she sees a file
of fish from McDonald's right in front of her.

Hey it was seafood, right, technically fish.

This whole thing was a prank that you were playing
on her, telling her she's gonna have this nice meal,
and you really took her to a fast food place.
And gave her ash.

So she takes the blindfold off and she's looking at
this filet of fish and I just see this look
of confusion over her face. She was she went through
every emotion. She was like pissed off for a second,
but at the end of it, she just started to laugh.

Either that or she's laughing like, oh my god, of
course this is my dating life.

her house, I'd knock on her door and she doesn't answer.

prank couple. I would feel good to get him back.

nice to go out and eat some seafood.

Yeah, and she only had a half an hour to
get ready.

Technically he wasn't lying because he did treat her to
seafood a filet of fish sandwich at a McDonald's.

because that's when that's when he stopped responding to him.

Well, the weird thing is that normally when we do
this segment, people will ghost each other over text, or
they'll just like break off communication. They won't actually set
up a time to meet that person at their own
place and then just not show up and answer the door.

You know, I kind of like the old school physically
doing there. It's a lot more mystery.

She's just watching into the key hole. We're just trying
to help Chris get some understanding of what's going on
between you two.

You know, given his well thought out plan, I wanted
to get him back, and my plan didn't work.

So, I mean it was late and he did come over,
And the thing is that I have a friend who's
a tow truck driver. Okay, okay, So I live on
the third floor and I have a clear view to
the street view, and he would have seen the tow
truck driver hook up his car.

Oh you weren't going to answer the door, and you
were going to get his car towed. And that was
the joke.
Speaker 12 (14:33):
I mean, not fully toad, but you know, hooked up
at least to the tow truck.

So that was the joke. You invited him to be
hooking up and what you meant was hooking up his
car to a tow truck.

this segment that we're doing, we're just trying to gauge
and see how things go. Yeah, okay, so we're just
trying to pry a little bit and ask you. You know,
how was your date? How was the hangout?
Speaker 3 (29:15):
It's just a short review.
Speaker 10 (29:18):
I mean it was a good date.
Speaker 12 (29:20):
We had a couple of drinks.
Speaker 10 (29:22):
Randall was super thoughtful and nice.
Speaker 5 (29:26):
This all fits his character.

Yeah, so you were feeling really good.

I was until the very end, because it was a
little bit weird, to say the least.
Speaker 5 (29:36):
Yeah, we don't know what happened at the end. He
didn't mention that was there like a kiss.

No, it was not a kiss. So basically he told me,
I just want you to know this date meant a
lot to me.
Speaker 3 (29:49):
Okay, that's good. That must make you feel great.

It did until the second part, in which he said,
I don't know if I'm going going to propose to
someone else. No, yeah, but it's been very nice to
meet you.

Okay, Oh my god, I bet your heart just sunk, like.
Speaker 10 (30:15):
Well, yeah, I was more confused than anything.
Speaker 5 (30:18):
I didn't wish it luck. Do you think there's any
chance maybe it was just a line, like a little
hard to get line to play towards you, to make
himself seem a little bit more desirable.
Speaker 3 (30:30):
To get married, and second guesses, sounds like a good joke.
Speaker 5 (30:33):
Like how wild would it be if he really was engaged?
Speaker 8 (30:35):
Like, obviously he's kidding.
Speaker 10 (30:37):
Yeah, if it was a joke, it didn't work. It
did not land.
Speaker 12 (30:40):
He should workshop that with someone else.
Speaker 1 (30:44):
Up until that very last sentence, you were planning on
seeing him again.

It definitely seemed like it was going in that direction.
Speaker 3 (30:50):
Okay answer, Okay, so that's our answer. Can we ignore
the last sentence? Can we just forget that happened?
Speaker 10 (30:57):
It doesn't I think that would be textbook ignoring a flag.
Speaker 5 (31:00):
Well, maybe we could. We could replace it with some
new sentences that he wants to say to you right now,
because he is listening to this phone call.

They catfished me. I was heartbroken. I didn't know what

from the Philippines. I feel like she might be the one.
I haven't met her yet. I haven't facetimed her. All.

He is a hopeful truly a heartfelt guy, and he's
just getting taken advantage of.

And that is like so sad.

I don't see it as a sad thing at all.

I see Randall, give me money to a woman in
the Philippines. It probably doesn't exist.

You can money to random people you've never met. You before,
you call it charity, and all of a sudden, you're
a good person, yo, Like, I'm sorry. He's just he's
got a big heart. He has a lot of hope
and optimism, and he's willing to do whatever it takes
to make love happen in his life. And he's willing
to put himself out there, even put himself on the
radio like this.

Could I go with the girl in the Philippines or
should I continue to pursue Georgina?

the limb and riss because his friend made him.

Georgina, in all honesty, before our date, I was wholeheartedly
in love with the young lady from the Philippines. But
after meeting you, there's just something about you. I thought
we had a connection. I didn't know if that was
a universe telling me that I was making the wrong
decision with the other girl.
Speaker 10 (33:51):
I appreciate your candor, but I will just tell you
the difference between me and this other woman.
Speaker 12 (33:55):
I am real and the other person is a fantasy.

So that's that's why you are so swept up, because
that's what these scammers do.
