Speaker 1 (00:00):
Ellen finds us and says, oh, well, I know these
margaritas aren't as good as mine. Carissa. It was like
I had been caught having an affair. Oh my, Ellen,
calm down with Erin and Carissa. Is a production of iHeartRadio.
Speaker 2 (00:21):
You are those Chipotle chips? No, it was ta kaya Yum.
I just kyled it.
Speaker 1 (00:27):
I got the Fieta bowl in there. I'm about to
eat that after we're down with stop it. We get
the same order from Tokia. You know what?
Speaker 3 (00:34):
You what?
Speaker 1 (00:34):
I'm going to everybody now, I'm forgetting, not that I
don't want to eat because I love eating.
Speaker 2 (00:39):
I'm forgetting. It's like I'm so busy though, I'm like, shit,
I haven't eaten.
Speaker 1 (00:43):
It's like you're going, You're going, You're going, You're like AnyWho,
I'm gonna be honest. I love that feeling for It's
three o'clock and it's like, oh wait, I haven't eat
anything yet. But then you eat everything because you're so
welcome to the content.
Speaker 2 (00:54):
Wait for dinner. Now, what's your order from Jokaia? Not
an ad ad?
Speaker 1 (01:00):
Here we go, sister. It is week about to be
Week eleven, Week ten. We record our podcast.
Speaker 2 (01:06):
I don't know why.
Speaker 1 (01:06):
I feel like I have to say this every week
on Monday, So still gonna have one game left of
week ten, but when this bad Boy airs on Thursday,
it is officially week eleven, and we're often running. As
they say, Christmas or Thanksgiving is the indicator of like
who's who's in and who's out on.
Speaker 2 (01:23):
The playoff picture.
Speaker 1 (01:24):
But like this year, I swear to God as I'm
sitting there yesterday doing game breaks and I'm watching Buffalo
get beaten up by the Miami Dolphins.
Speaker 2 (01:33):
And two weeks ago we were.
Speaker 1 (01:34):
Like Miami, like, is Mike McDaniel's gonna get Mike mcdanie's
gonna get fired, like all these things, and then they
sit there and they beat the Bills. You never know
what's gonna happen on any given Sunday. The Seattle Seahawks
to score thirty five nothing and they're still eight minutes
left in the second quarter. It was funny, you're hit
that was really good. Oh well, I don't know about that,
but thank you.
Speaker 2 (01:53):
I just like, wait a minute.
Speaker 1 (01:53):
The Cardinals had just beat the Cowboys on Monday night,
and then it was like, you never know what's going
to happen. Jonathan Taylor, anybody running for over shield Taylor
exactly running for over two hundred yards, like two hundred.
Speaker 2 (02:08):
And thirty yards or whatever it was. I was like, God, damn,
somebody get this guy an iv you.
Speaker 1 (02:13):
Throwing for four having eight thousand records he broke and
I was like.
Speaker 2 (02:18):
No, shout out to nine.
Speaker 1 (02:20):
Becoming the ninth player to throw for four hundred touch
grounds seventeen years in the NFL and playing, I mean,
just unbelievable. That team looks great. You, of course, so
let's just dive into that. You had the fantastic matchup
rematch of Week five between the Rams and the Niners.
You had a wonderful sit down with our guy Matthew.
(02:40):
I love when there's two people that I know and
love talking and it's like it's just it's just anyways.
It was a fantastic interview and I love you both.
So they're doing a second part this week too. They
I thought that I wouldn't say, you know that, like
when you sit down with guys and they just give
you great stuff and then you have to cut. You know,
our producer does a great job, Santos of editing it down.
(03:01):
You sit there with these guys, sometimes for ten minutes,
sometimes for fifteen. Matthew's great that he'll answer all the
questions for twenty five. So then our producer goes and picks,
you know, three minutes worth, which sounds like a lot,
but it's not. Obviously, with Matthew playing so well with
him and the MVP discussion and they're moving on to
a huge matchup this week against Seattle. Joel was like,
(03:22):
we're putting this thing into a second part this week,
so we're so excited. I think he's going to be
talking about Davonte's relationship with Davante, that working out. That
was one of the hits I wanted to get into
our game. And then DeVante came up with an oblique injury.
But we were talking about their connection and how it's
finally clicked and everything, and matt I said, is this
what you envisioned when you heard DeVante was signing with
(03:44):
the team, And he goes, yeah, I saw him do
this shit to me all the time when he played us,
you know, when I was with Detroit. So so good,
and I think he's going to talk about his relationship
with Puka and Sean and good night thirty seven years old.
I said, what do you think about when you hear that?
He said, how lucky I am to still be playing
at this level, especially with everything he went through with
the back.
Speaker 2 (04:04):
People forget that. Yeah, it was the beginning. We were
talking about that.
Speaker 1 (04:08):
Stray and Howie and I were talking about that in
the green room because we were watching the game and
just thinking about the fact that here Matthew was with
so many question marks before the start of season, got
no time with DeVante or any guys. You know that
he hadn't played with yet because his back in question
marks whether he was even going to play. Now playing
some of the best football of his career. So look,
(04:29):
the NFL, as we talk about, every single is in
the great hands, so many great players, so many great storylines.
And then there's also the other side of it, which
is the business and sucks with Brian Dable announced on
Monday that they let him go as the head coach
of the New York Giants. And we always stress on
this show, these are people's lives. We understand it's a business,
but there's also that side of the business which is
(04:51):
not never any fun. I hope Jackson Dart's Okay, he
went out of the game with a concussion, so.
Speaker 2 (04:57):
Yeah or tooth I thought I read too which god?
Or yeah? So here we go.
Speaker 1 (05:04):
We're headed into Week eleven. Oh, I would like to
actually go back for a second on my Week ten
the Broncos game against the Raiders. I love going back
to Colorado. I had posted about it, but it's just
I love and I'm just like very nostalgic and like
memory lane, and I think I'm kind of in this
wait for it season of my life where I just
(05:27):
never take anything for granted because I just I know
how fragile these jobs and these positions and you know,
all this stuff is. So I went two years ago,
we went back to Denver, but every time I go
back there, I always go back to the cute little
apartment that I had my first ever on air job,
and I just go bend the night there.
Speaker 2 (05:47):
I know, I just go back and like I walk to.
Speaker 1 (05:50):
Like where because it's along this little river front thing,
and I always go back there the same way that
I go to cheesecake factory or that when I'm in
Nordstroms or places I've worked or anything, and I remind
myself elf, hey by the way you want me as
the customer at cheesecake factory, because I'm gonna leave one
hundred dollars tip every single time. Because I'm always reminded
that it's really important to remember where you came from
(06:10):
and when you have all this, you know opportunities that
we have now. So anyways, I went by my old
apartment and just reminded myself that I was like almost
twenty years ago for my first on air job, and
it's just a good way to sort of reset and
recalibrate for my appreciation and gratitude. I don't do a journal,
but it's internal anyways, So love going back there.
Speaker 2 (06:29):
The weather was awesome.
Speaker 1 (06:29):
I got to see Sean, who I know I've talked
about before but we used to work together.
Speaker 2 (06:34):
At Fox and we love Sean.
Speaker 1 (06:36):
And yeah, but watching that game, I was like, it's
just any any week, you never know what's going to happen.
It's like that they expected, you know, a blowout against
the Raiders, and the Raiders had some missed opportunities and
easily could have won that game. So it's going to
be a wild game between the Chiefs and the Broncos
coming up here next week and then also we see
them again on Christmas. So these divisional matchups that are
(06:59):
going to have a big hand in the overall seatings
of things. So yeah, I enjoyed my time in Denver
and what else. Yeah, that was my week ten. I
was a hotel round in two. It's goody. It was terrible.
Speaker 2 (07:15):
It wasn't.
Speaker 1 (07:15):
It wasn't the one that we normally stay up and
let me just tell you we won't be going back there.
Speaker 2 (07:20):
Okay, it was.
Speaker 1 (07:23):
It was one of those things where you know, when
the game is over and you expect like, hey, there
spent a lot of money at these hotels, so yeah,
block out rooms and it's like to have the little
you know, listen, little section open, uh huh. And but no,
we were shut down and I had a nice chat
with the manager and said, hey look and then they
(07:45):
made some adjustments, but we will be pivoting next time
where we stay say no more?
Speaker 2 (07:52):
So uh huh, say no more. Yeah, let's go.
Speaker 1 (07:57):
Talking about the deal though with like the you know,
we come back to the hotel, we want to have
a little fellowship and then yeah, you're shut down. I
don't and it's not about like let me let me
just be clear about this. It's not like we think
that the hotel should just roll out the red carpet
and a you know whatever. But there's conversations that happen
(08:17):
that if we're going to spend X amount of dollars
on this block of rooms before the whole thing, and
we're talking like thirty rooms upwards of thirty rooms, that's
a lot of money that you guys are making off of,
you know, productions, so you can carve out a little
extra time on the back end.
Speaker 2 (08:30):
But that didn't happen.
Speaker 1 (08:31):
So no problem in a world of a weird solutions
orientated around here, So what's the problem that's.
Speaker 2 (08:36):
By the solution? We just won't be going back there.
Speaker 3 (08:38):
So next, I.
Speaker 1 (08:49):
Got to tell you what happened to I said dinner
where we were offline, but Jersey Grossie came out.
Speaker 2 (09:01):
Rich gros shout out anyone that knows rich people trying to.
Speaker 1 (09:03):
Take an advantage of sweet big group. Wasn't happening on
our watch.
Speaker 2 (09:09):
Not on our watch.
Speaker 1 (09:10):
Let me Dean photographed video the whole thing for for
review and commentated on it. You know what, the official
where where his former soldiers although he wasn't really ever
official was.
Speaker 2 (09:24):
He ever an official. I don't think so.
Speaker 1 (09:26):
He was the boss of the officials, but like, I
need to see Dean dress up as a referee for Halloween.
One year, we did our drawing, by the way, for
Secret Santa. He's very excited about who he got.
Speaker 2 (09:39):
Really he revealed it.
Speaker 1 (09:41):
Oh yeah, it to some of us. I'm gonna need
help with mine, what we're talking about. So it's not
so inside football in this case as supposed to inside
baseball is Aaron and her crew always draws names for
who they're going to give gifts to. Fun secret Santa
kind of thing. So I suggested that to my Thursday
night croup because I'm gonna tell you what I'm gonna
(10:01):
tell you.
Speaker 2 (10:01):
Who's a good guy.
Speaker 1 (10:02):
Actually, I probably shouldn't have suggested this because Andrew Whitworth
is the most generous gift giver.
Speaker 2 (10:07):
They all are shirm fits. They all are.
Speaker 1 (10:10):
They are really, But if I had to power rank,
wait is at the top of the list. It's given
like designer handbags, designers car like my man like really
shows up. But I think it's a lot of pressure
every year to feel like you have to spend that
kind of money. And I don't want them to feel
like they have to buy me anything. So we're gonna
do some sort of They don't know this yet, I'm
gonna tell them, but we're going to do some sort
(10:31):
of yeah drawing or secret stand a something or other
and get you know, the whole group involved.
Speaker 2 (10:36):
Which leads me to my trip to home goods today. Okay,
let me just tell you fa la la la la
la la la la. You're already follow la lying. Yeah,
my tree.
Speaker 1 (10:47):
By the way, my tree was supposed to go up
this weekend, but then I ended up being busy with
god knows what and it didn't happen that true might
go up tonight for all I know, I don't know
perfect time. I am so excited about this. But here's
the thing about home and this is your hell. You
are not a girl, and it's not about home goods.
It's just you don't like having to like a lot
of stuff. Right, she gets like, get overwhelmed. I feel
(11:08):
like I'm gonna pass out.
Speaker 2 (11:10):
My girl does not like that.
Speaker 1 (11:11):
She doesn't like to go into her home deepot, she
doesn't like to go into home goods. And it's not
about the stores. It's just something happens to my eyes
they start fluttering. They're fluttering my eyelashes because I get
so excited when I walk into these stores. I think
to myself, how have I not been able to live
without these little figurines or these cute glasses that I
(11:33):
got with little hand etched little uh you know, Christmas
balls on them. And then I think to myself of
all the gifts, and then I leave with like ten,
such a great.
Speaker 2 (11:41):
Deal for these coffee table books.
Speaker 1 (11:43):
Coffee table books are so expensive, and I got an
architectural digest one in there for thirty dollars, when you
know on any other fucking site there are one hundred
and twenty dollars. People are out of control with the
amount of money, you know, coffee table books. So I
got all these coffee table books, I got Christmas cards,
I got so many things.
Speaker 2 (11:59):
And so this is me. To Steve. I was like, hey,
can you open the garage? I got to drop stuff off.
Speaker 1 (12:03):
He goes, oh, boy, because that means I'm bringing the
car around home unloading the bags home goods to the
Londo was yeah, I got the dogs toys.
Speaker 2 (12:11):
I got the dog's treats.
Speaker 1 (12:11):
And then I thought to myself, I don't really think
I should be getting the treats here because Will it's
not a strict diet, and God knows what's gonna happen
with that.
Speaker 2 (12:17):
So anyways, I just.
Speaker 1 (12:18):
Love Homegods, And I think to myself as I'm leaving
with the eight hundred dollars worth of shit that I
didn't even need. But then I think to myself, how
did I live without all of this stuff? And then
I'm like, it's so exciting. I'm I can't wait. I'm
gonna wrap the little presents up and I got cute
little bows, and yeah, I'm into it. I just walk
in there and just think to myself, Heaven, I've arrived.
(12:39):
There's so many aisles, there's so many things. There's no
order to this situation. I went at Halloween's. We brought mac.
Speaker 2 (12:49):
Hate. I've never seen so many ghost salty tepper shakers.
I know, it's fantastic. It's exciting. Is it's exciting. I
got a side table that I didn't even know.
Speaker 1 (13:03):
I stopped me a little side table, a base, the
base was wood, the top was marble, and I and
you know it's a good item when someone stops you
in line and goes excuse me.
Speaker 2 (13:12):
Where did you get that? And I was like, oh,
it's over there. I was like, but it might be
the last one.
Speaker 1 (13:16):
And then it's like it's like a game because you
feel like we used to go to garage sales as
kids all the time with my grandma because we were poor,
and my grandma was like, we dig through this stuff
and you feel like you found a real treasure, and
like that's how I feel at Home Goods or TJ
Max or Ross or anything. And I'm like, I think
to myself, Oh my god, how lucky am I that
I found this and no one else did? The snacksy
(13:38):
cell there. I've never entered the brands. I'm always so confused.
And there's so much hand wash, Isn't there a lot
of hand washing?
Speaker 2 (13:47):
There's a lot of popcorn. There's a lot of popcorn
and pretzels.
Speaker 1 (13:51):
A lot of pretzels, so many a lot of hand wash.
But I'm gonna tell you what. There is some what
the kettle corn? The kettle corn, there's fantastic. And then
I think to myself, how long has happened on the show?
Speaker 2 (14:06):
But baby, anyways, tis the season.
Speaker 1 (14:14):
Santa's about to throw up in this living room and
I can't wait, that's my name.
Speaker 3 (14:18):
Yep.
Speaker 2 (14:27):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (14:27):
So we started a Larry Davidism kind of segment to
the show.
Speaker 2 (14:31):
If you watch Seinfeld, if.
Speaker 1 (14:32):
You watch Curb Your Enthusiasm, it's like it's just like
every day, like, how would you explain it, Larry david Ism,
It's just him to a t. Larry Davidism are things
that happened to everybody, but nobody really calls attention to it.
But obviously his genius of seinfeld Er curve or whatever
was just putting a spotlight on everyday annoyances or occurrences
(14:56):
that are so relatable because it's happened to all of
us at one point, or it's happened and you don't
even realize what's happening. For example, that reservation one time
when he went ballistic, when we were supposed to be
sat great at the table at seven o'clock. Our reservation
was at seven, and then at seven fifteen, and there's
still the people sitting at our table and he's getting
(15:17):
real antsy with the hostess and he's like, that's our table,
and it's like, what's that time frame between when they
can keep sitting at our table and when you have
to tell him to leave. Anyways, seven thirty rolled around
and my man was not happy, and he marched right
over to that table and he said, get up, Get up,
because at that point the check had.
Speaker 2 (15:33):
Already been signed. They're just loitering.
Speaker 1 (15:34):
They're lingering around at the table that's supposed to be
our at seven. So anyways, that's an example. So we
have now started Larry davidism on this podcast. When we
have it happened in your case this week it was
what it.
Speaker 2 (15:48):
Was being Gordon biersched.
Speaker 1 (15:51):
So I'll explain if we have a solid, Hey, we
can make a meal out of fifteen minutes. If we
had this week, we had a solid maybe our fifteen at.
Speaker 2 (16:01):
The airport, we're all changed. It is.
Speaker 1 (16:03):
We can get a meal, we can watch the start
of Sunday night, we can watch whatever game is on.
We were pumped to two beverages and some appys. So
in San Jose there really wasn't much else in the
terminal that we're in except for Gordon Beers. Gotta be honest,
it's a fine stop. It does the trick. The only
(16:26):
reason why we enjoyed going was this lovely woman named Ellen.
If you ever experienced the San Jose Airport and Gordon Beer.
She's the one with the Florida Panthers lanyard and the
Philadelphia Flyers hat. Don't care why those two times? Yeah,
she's great. So we were going through security and we
noticed Gordon Biers. But there was a brand new Mikasa.
(16:50):
Mikasa certainly been open. That's what I said. Going through,
I said, Kevin goes, are we going to go? Mikasa soukrass?
So let's go.
Speaker 2 (16:58):
We got an hour fifteen? What could go wrong? I'll
tell you what went wrong. We went. We sat there.
Speaker 1 (17:05):
They had the prickly pair of margarita. I had a
regular one. We were having a great time.
Speaker 2 (17:10):
An order.
Speaker 1 (17:11):
Yeah, I'm not in I'm not into a fruity one.
All of a sudden, well we did say this, Oh
my god, do you think Gordon Beers will be upset
with us? And it was like, no, no, no, we're
just trying this out. Mikasa is new. We're just giving
it a whirl. Anyone from our people because we've been
going to Gordon Biers for like since the forty nine
(17:32):
ers had been good. I mean that was our stop.
We were doing this stuff three times a year.
Speaker 2 (17:36):
You know they know us. Okay.
Speaker 1 (17:39):
All of a sudden Ellen finds us and says, oh, well,
I know these margaritas aren't as good as mine.
Speaker 2 (17:48):
Carissa.
Speaker 1 (17:48):
It was like I had been caught having an affair.
Oh full mind an affair.
Speaker 2 (17:54):
Kevin got so uncomfortable he started talking to someone else.
He goes Lindsey Ferry.
Speaker 1 (17:58):
There she is, come to our table, and I'm like,
it was like we had been caught.
Speaker 2 (18:03):
She came out.
Speaker 1 (18:04):
Ellen walked over from Gordon bear. Did she knew we
were going to be there because we did the game?
She was waiting. Oh.
Speaker 2 (18:11):
She walked over to me Casa and my asses.
Speaker 1 (18:17):
And said, so's margaritas aren't as good as mine? And
I said, Ellen, they're not. We love you were just
trying out.
Speaker 2 (18:26):
This is incredible. It was and everyone was like, we
felt like we had been caught. Where is your soil?
Aids yeah, oh my god? Yeah? So did you get up?
And she let beer? She left.
Speaker 1 (18:41):
One of her co workers stopped by and said she
is not happy with you guys. She heard you guys
are here and she is pissed. This is incredible. First
of all, Ellen deserves a raise, So I love her.
Speaker 2 (18:56):
Ellen right, my girl.
Speaker 1 (18:57):
Mister Gordon, you need to make sure Ellen it's a
raise for the employee of the month, because she will
find you if you are not oiled to the restaurant.
And the fact that she was like, oh yeah, my
people here, because right.
Speaker 2 (19:10):
I'm gonna sniff them out.
Speaker 1 (19:11):
Wow, she sniffed her way to me, Cassa and found
us sitting right there.
Speaker 2 (19:15):
That's great. That came right good. I love all the
boys went. Is this going on the podcast? Oh yeah,
we got Gordon Biers.
Speaker 1 (19:24):
Oh my god, incredible. Well I know where I'm going
to be stopping by. Well, we don't know, damn it.
We're not in We're not in Santa Clara. We're in
Seattle for that Thursday night San Francisco Seattle game. Oh
but I'll tell you I know that airport very well
because I used to work for Yahoo Sports and I
(19:46):
would get I would go up to Sunny Valil once
a week every Wednesday. And I'm gonna tell you what,
that San Jose. San Jose Airport is great because you're
in and out of that TSA and I have no problem.
Speaker 2 (19:55):
They're great. They like five minutes.
Speaker 1 (19:57):
Yeah, but you're right, there's limited options so I can
see where Ellen would be peeved because she said, where
are my people?
Speaker 2 (20:03):
That's fantastic. I was waiting for you. It's too good.
Speaker 1 (20:08):
Speaking of restaurants, so I was at nateon Owl's, which
is apparently some incredible landmark diner in Beverly Hills that
a friend of mine was like, Hey, let's meet for breakfast.
I am not a hote I'm not a hotel person either.
I'm not a hotel restaurant connoisseur like you are at all.
(20:29):
I'm always like hotel yes, okay. So restaurants, like when
people come to town in LA, they're where should I
go to eat?
Speaker 2 (20:35):
I have no idea, literally no idea. I order food.
Speaker 1 (20:38):
Yeah, but there's like one restaurant I could suggest, which
would be that. So anyway, so she's like, let's meet
at nate Now's in Beverly Hills, great que old diner
again been there forever, Hollywood staple. So we're sitting there,
Holly Hollywood Stable, Rita Hayworth, red A Gable, Judy Garland.
(21:02):
So I'm sitting there with my bagel unlocks. I'm so
excited to da having a bite. She's got her, you know, eggs,
the whole thing. All of a sudden, I hear five, five, six,
seven down dun down Toda down down town, and I'm like,
now again, reminder, we're in Los Angeles, so her show,
who knows what's going on and whatever? But I'm like, what,
Megan Trainer comes in through the diner, full dance, routine, music,
(21:26):
We've got a director, we've got a producer, just like
full flash mob in the middle of the breakfast, and I'm.
Speaker 2 (21:33):
Like, you didn't have to sign anything.
Speaker 1 (21:36):
Stand by, So we're so I'm like, I look at
Elsa and I go, what's going on here? She goes,
I have no idea. I'm like, it is eleven o'clock
on a Tuesday, and Megan Trainer came through in all
of her glory, full outfit, full hair, full makeup, and
she's dancing, she's singing, she's twirling around, and everyone's just
kind of like, what's going on here?
Speaker 2 (21:54):
She's great.
Speaker 1 (21:55):
I've got to tell you, I've always been a big
Megan Trainer fan. Love the little you know, her hits,
they're very catchy, the whole thing. So she does the
whole thing and then we all stop and we look
at her she goes, I know this is awkward.
Speaker 2 (22:05):
I know this is weird. I'm shooting a music video.
Speaker 1 (22:07):
If you don't want to be in it, we'll make
sure that you know, we cut you out of it.
And so then they cue up the music again. I'm like,
well you can't. Who doesn't want to be in it?
What are you talking about?
Speaker 3 (22:16):
Me?
Speaker 2 (22:16):
Now?
Speaker 1 (22:17):
You've just like ignited something in me. There's nothing that
I don't want to be a part of. So I
look at us, I go, you better start. You better
put that fork down and start shaking it. So I'm like,
we look like shit because I'm like, it is loving.
Speaker 2 (22:28):
You sent me a picture. You look great.
Speaker 1 (22:29):
You crazy because I grabbed sunglasses threw them on my face.
I threw sunglasses at Elsa and I go put them on,
and I was like, fuck it.
Speaker 2 (22:37):
Let's go. Why not be in the Megan Trainer video?
You know what I mean?
Speaker 1 (22:40):
I was like, So we're fully dancing in the middle
of the day or in the middle of the restaurant
at eleven o'clock. She twirls through, she sings her song
and then the people come around, you know with the
old sign the waiver here kind of a thing.
Speaker 2 (22:53):
But I loved it.
Speaker 1 (22:54):
I loved everything about it, and I was like, only
in Los Angeles can you be in the middle of
breakfast at a random diner and then up in a
Megan Trainer video And you know what, Megan Trainer good
for you?
Speaker 2 (23:03):
You know what the song's called.
Speaker 1 (23:05):
I don't know if this is the actual title, but
part of the chorus goes and I don't care.
Speaker 2 (23:08):
It's coming out this week. I can't wait to share
it with you guys.
Speaker 1 (23:11):
But yeah, I saw she was in the pools or something.
Rick Caruso posted it on ig either at the Grove
or something where she's probably just bouncing around to different
hotspots and hotspots in LA we're not and so so
I'm walking out of the restaurant. She's gone at this point,
couldn't be cute or the whole thing. I now am
walking to my car. She's standing on the corner of
(23:32):
like Rodeo Drive in Beverly or whatever, and a tmz
van comes across and she's shooting the video and everybody
who's like in the tmz vand's like, oh my god.
You know, it's like they bought this like ticket to
some you know, go check out Hollywood celebrity.
Speaker 2 (23:46):
Sidings, and then Megan Trainer's doing a video on the corner.
I said, a day, welcome to Hollywood. What's your name?
Speaker 1 (23:52):
It was a pretty woman. All roads lead back to
pretty women. Oh no, we're from Orlando. That's how I
felt like being some of the you know people that
were in the TMZ van.
Speaker 2 (24:02):
But yeah, it was a great Tuesday.
Speaker 1 (24:04):
I got a bagel and appeared in the Megan Trainer
video and I don't care talk to me about a
bagel and locks so into sushi?
Speaker 2 (24:15):
What is this salmon taste?
Speaker 3 (24:16):
Like?
Speaker 2 (24:17):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (24:17):
If I could do that, it would taste the same
as it would in the salmon roll. It's just the lock.
It's just like I mean, I don't know the Actually
what does lock mean?
Speaker 2 (24:24):
Sushi?
Speaker 1 (24:25):
Like locks, lox like salmon locks? That part I don't know.
But like I always thought like, oh, it's raw fish.
But I guess it's the kind of fish that.
Speaker 2 (24:32):
You can eat.
Speaker 1 (24:33):
Obviously I'm not a sushi expert, but it's but it
tastes like a sushi roll, like without the chace, right.
But I always like to put a little lemon because
I need to cut down that fish taste a little bit,
so the lemon mitigates the fish taste. Put that with
some cream, cheese, a bagel. I'm not into the caper move,
but like a little tomato.
Speaker 2 (24:53):
Yeah, I lovegel.
Speaker 1 (24:55):
Never outs really I like salmon, my god, oh then
you would I love this? Oh yeah yeah, yeah, we
got to order this next time. Okay, Yeah, salmon in
locks so cute. Yeah, it's adorable.
Speaker 2 (25:07):
I love it.
Speaker 1 (25:08):
Very filling obviously on the bagel. So yeah, that's a staple.
What's your breakfast order?
Speaker 2 (25:12):
Do I know this? Yeah? Yeah, I already know it.
Speaker 1 (25:16):
Okay, yeah, so Harry, they're not healthy.
Speaker 2 (25:22):
Well that's so exciting.
Speaker 1 (25:23):
Megan Trainer, I really like her commercial with Patrick Mahomes.
Speaker 2 (25:26):
Give it up for Patrick exactly he does sports.
Speaker 1 (25:30):
She's so funny. It's very funny. I can't wait for
this song because you'll appreciate the words. It's basically like
she talks about it. She's like, I was too fat,
and then I was too skinny, and now people are
saying I'm too skinny, but I don't care.
Speaker 2 (25:42):
Basically like anything.
Speaker 1 (25:44):
People have said about her in her life, She's like,
I still don't give a shit, which you know.
Speaker 2 (25:47):
I'm all about bring it on, ladies and gentlemen.
Speaker 1 (25:58):
Speaking of bringing it on, Hey, right, you had the
in laws in town?
Speaker 2 (26:04):
Oh I did? Yeah? Yeah, I was like, what are
we bringing on? The movie so good?
Speaker 1 (26:10):
I think the one thing about in laws though, and
my parents is listen, my kid doesn't sit there like
a big blob anymore. Like he's got a personality, and yeah,
disciplining him. He had a little bit of an attitude
in the card today because he's it's November tenth and
he still wants to listen to making Mouse Halloween. It's like, no,
Halloween really did a number on him. He loves Halloween, man, Yeah,
(26:33):
it really scarred him. So yeah, no, it's it's like
a little bit of pressure when you have your relatives
in town because you're you don't want them walking away
being like that kid's an asshole, you know, right.
Speaker 2 (26:44):
So anyways, but it was your kid.
Speaker 1 (26:46):
It's never it's so nice to have a buffer there
where it's like, oh, go to Grandpa. Grandpa's gonna brush
his teeth. You should brush your teeth. Grandpa likes washing
his hands, so you should wash your hands. Like you
just basically pawn you off your relatives or Auntie Chrissa
when she comes.
Speaker 2 (27:03):
So, yeah, there you go. I love that. It's so cute.
What else?
Speaker 1 (27:08):
Oh, I got a Willis update? Thank you guys for
asking my sweet little Willis. I cried the other day
because so Willis my twelve year old dog who, prior
to eating something random, was in perfect health, then had
kidney situation because he ate something that was bad. Was
in the emergency vet for a week. I didn't think
(27:30):
it was going to end well. And it's still touch
and go. Sweet Steve is being a great vet puts
on the lab jacket consistently every time he gives him
an ivy. He puts in your lab jacket and his stethoscope.
And my, my guy, Steve has been doing an incredible
job with Willis. He's also and this is how I
feel like if we had a kid. I'm like, look,
Willis needs to eat right, Like he's really picky back,
(27:53):
barely eating anything. So I'm like, fuck it, I'm like,
you want some turkey, Let's give him some turkey.
Speaker 2 (27:57):
Like She's like, that is not permitted. The rules say this.
Speaker 1 (28:00):
Steve is very much by the book, not me. I'm
slippy treats on the side. No I'm like this, I'm like,
Willis here, I'm giving him treats. And if Steve knew that,
he would lose his mind because he is like so
regiment about stuff and I'm like, dude, the dog's like, hey,
just give me somebody eat. I don't want to eat
this bland food. So anyways, Steve Is, I can only
(28:21):
imagine what he would be like as a dad. I mean,
this would be crazy. He'd be like, no, no, the
doctor said this, and I'd be like, We're fine.
Speaker 2 (28:27):
Anyways, So Willis.
Speaker 1 (28:29):
Is very very slowly but hopefully getting better. But this
was a massive, massive moment. So I came home the
other night from the birthday party thing I was at.
I go upstairs and they were. They were on a walk,
which takes Willis a long time to go on a
walk now because he walks really slowly. But like, okay,
got it. So I walk in the house. They're not there.
(28:50):
I'm like, oh, they're on a walk. I go upstairs.
Speaker 2 (28:53):
I take a.
Speaker 1 (28:53):
Shower, I'm throwing on my pajamas, and all of a sudden,
I hear this little click click click click, And that's
always the sound of Willis's little feet, like on the
hardwood floor. Willis, You guys, up until this accident, you know,
incident situation, he follows me around everywhere. If I take
a shower, he's outside the door. If I'm in my room,
(29:14):
he's in the room. He follows me everywhere. So I
haven't heard the click click click sound over the last
for over, you know, two and a half weeks now,
because he can't go up the stairs because he doesn't
have any energy to do it. And I'm like, wait,
is that Daisy? What she doing up here around the corner?
Willis's head popped around the corner, and I was started.
I started bawling.
Speaker 2 (29:33):
I'm like, oh, oh my god. He came up the stairs.
Speaker 1 (29:36):
And then I thought Steve had like brought him up
the stairs. Steve is nowhere to be found. Willis came
up the stairs. It was like a massive moment from
me because I was like, oh, good, Like you're not
gonna die, Like I swear to god, you guys, this
was like an Aaron you know better than anyone because
I cried to you about it.
Speaker 2 (29:51):
I can't lose this dog.
Speaker 1 (29:52):
And I'm very aware that dogs are going to die
before we do. And my dad was like you're a
massachist because you know you love these animals that are
going to die before you. But I'm like, you can't
die yet, Like I need you, I need this. This
dog has been through everything with me and I'm just
not ready to let him go. I mean, whoever is
So it was a big moment. And again the progress
(30:14):
is slow, but that was a massive thing for me
to have him come up the stairs. And I've just
been sleeping downstairs with Willis every single night, right by
his bed and steeps like you should probably.
Speaker 2 (30:23):
Get in the bed.
Speaker 1 (30:23):
I'm like, no, I want to lay on the floor
with him because I just love him so much. So anyways,
hopefully he's on the mend and that's a sign a
sign of good things to come.
Speaker 2 (30:33):
So thank you guys for caring about as we will do.
And that makes sense. Why your next and hurting?
Speaker 1 (30:39):
Oh yeah, I'm sure because I don't care. I'm just
like to I need to just be by my Willis
at all times. So any who, All right, Well, where
are you headed this week?
Speaker 2 (30:49):
I don't even know. We have bears at Minnesota.
Speaker 1 (30:55):
Bears at Minnesota. Oh I immediately think about the hotel. Okay,
I know where you stay there. You like that that
you've trained me well or I'm like, okay, she'll like that.
Great a good NFC North about Hey, we talked about
in the pre game. Someone had asked teams that surprise you,
Hey the Bears. Yeah, good for that, you know, good
(31:15):
for them. Ben Johnson comes in there and what they've
been able to do. I think, what's the record right now?
Six and four?
Speaker 2 (31:24):
Does that sound right? Six and four?
Speaker 1 (31:25):
I know that their wind cold studying match was matched
from last week, but like the last year altogether. But
Ryan will remind us right now, but yeah, that is.
That's good for Bears fans. You know you want six
and three. You were raising six and three. Yeah, they
have five wins all of last year. Okay, And I
(31:46):
talk about for you and Sday. You guys were so cute. Yes,
shout out to all. I know this will air on
Thursday and Veterans Day is on Tuesday. But Fox does
an incredible, incredible Veterans Station show. It was abbreviated this
year only in terms of the size and location because
of the government shutdown, so we.
Speaker 2 (32:03):
Had it on the lot at Fox.
Speaker 1 (32:05):
Usually we go to a military base and it's like
some of our favorite shows to do. But it is
such an honor to host members of the that are
currently serving in branches of government and also the veterans
that were there yesterday that have served. It is so
special we get to do what we do because people
(32:25):
like that have sacrificed their lives, their time, their energy,
their jobs and everything for us to have those freedom.
So it's really fun too because you know, like, look,
we take for granted and I not take for granted,
but we just sort of like, oh, you know, we're
on TV. Whatever, it's a big deal. Like, look, I
was excited to be an a Megan Trainer video. So
it's like everybody that gets to be there on the
(32:47):
show that really gets highlighted. Sweet Gronk is repelling down
the side of a building.
Speaker 2 (32:52):
They're doing this for all of you. I know exactly,
thanks Gronk.
Speaker 1 (32:59):
Mickey Mouse just propelled down the side of a building.
But yeah, it was awesome and I love, love love
that Fox always highlights the veterans and thank you guys.
My grandparents both serve, my sister served in the Coast Guard,
and I never take for granted how incredible those individuals
are that sacrifice the ultimate sacrifice for us. So thank
you and happy belated, which will be Veterance Day to
(33:21):
everybody listening to this show. I like the segment that
you guys did. I think it was coming in to break.
I just saw a Christmas light truck right drive by.
Speaker 2 (33:30):
That's crazy.
Speaker 1 (33:31):
I like the segment to break where you guys all
voiced family members like I.
Speaker 2 (33:35):
Heard Bill's voice, a stray yours.
Speaker 1 (33:38):
I forgot who else, but it was really really cool
that you guys recognize the people in your life that
I've served.
Speaker 2 (33:45):
So that was really.
Speaker 1 (33:45):
Really I found a very special sect little coming into
or whatever. Yeah, so a lot of work goes into
those shows and it's not just something that happened.
Speaker 2 (33:56):
So element, Yeah, that's what I was looking for. Good
element there. Hey, what did you guys have?
Speaker 1 (34:02):
The helium element? That was whole I laughed the whole time.
I thought that was so funny. Reading the tweets, I
loved it, which first of all, I'm like, these aren't
mean enough. I'm like, I know there's meaner tweets out there,
so in our post game, because let's be honest sometimes,
and I mean, look, Sean was the first to admit
and Bo Nick's were the first to admit that game
was shitty. That was a shitty game. Both teams did
(34:26):
not play their best football. And so in post game
we're like, it's a ten to six final. And so
we had a segment where we read which were supposed
to be mean tweets with Helium. We just like took
you know, Helium. I loved doing that as a kid
and talking talking, But yeah, I was like, Spoon are
(34:48):
great producer for Thursday Night Football. I was like, Spoon,
these could have been a lot meaner. Let me tell
you what.
Speaker 2 (34:53):
And he's like, well, I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings.
Speaker 1 (34:54):
I said, the fuck, who cares? I was like, you
think I don't know what people say about me. You
and I've talked about it. We are tell you what
they're going to say about us. So but anyways, yeah,
we're always Hey, I'm opening this up to the Calm
Down listeners and shout out to the two women that
were in the front row or whatever row you were in,
right in the front in Denver. You guys screamed Calm
Down podcast and said you love listening. And I didn't
(35:17):
get a chance to actually shake your hand.
Speaker 2 (35:20):
And learn your names. But I waved to.
Speaker 1 (35:22):
You from Afar and you guys were so awesome enthusiastic
and said that you loved the podcast. So I'm sorry,
I don't know your guys' names. Please tell us if
you were the two wonderful women in the front. But yeah,
I want to open this up to our listeners if
you guys have any ideas for postgame segments. There's nothing
we won't do as a group. I mean we've eaten
Buffalo Wings or that was Crazy Roulette, which too hot
(35:44):
the helium. We've kick field goals, cake field goals. I
mean there's like a just name a random fucking you've had.
You've hit yes balls off a tee. We've we've tried
to catch uh glizzies and share them. Calls it hot
dogs out of a hot dog shooter. So we're always
open to something fun. I mean that's the luxury of
(36:04):
being on streaming. It's not like you have to be
off for the nightly news. So it's like, yeah, the
guys started stacking paperweights at this point.
Speaker 2 (36:12):
I was one of the like, oh Jesus, But anyways,
so yeah, you get open of food in Atlanta. Yeah,
we're got to New England. I love you anyways. But yeah,
so here we go.
Speaker 1 (36:25):
We're off to week eleven, and I I'm gonna tell
you right now, what time is it?
Speaker 2 (36:32):
Three fifteen?
Speaker 1 (36:34):
I might be telling Steve we'reatching that Monday night football
game and he's got to pull out that tree from
the from the the old storage. I'm really proud of
myself for not having any of the coverage on right now,
because you know, I'd be like this the whole time.
I was raised a Packers fan. We cover these two
teams at nauseum and not a bad way, but we
cover them so much.
Speaker 2 (36:51):
We're really good friends.
Speaker 1 (36:52):
With both teams, very close with both staffs. Like love
these guys, love Lambeau. So it's yeah, I do not
have this on right now, and it's killing me because
she always looks up at this one in the dat.
I like to see him walking in seeing what they're wearing.
All right, you guys, Well, thank you so much as
always for listening. Reminder for pregame sending, questions, comments, concerns,
(37:14):
anonymous follow ups. If you listened to this week's anonymous
follow up, we care about you. You made the right decision.
If you listen to the pregame. You know what we're
talking about, and reminder to say something nice to someone today.
My father always told me that when you leave when
we left for school, so it's important be kind.
Speaker 2 (37:30):
It goes along my vision board done. Oh shit, that's right.
Wait before we go. I talked about it last week.
Speaker 1 (37:36):
Nicky, my sweet hair girl, she had a vision board
that put on her screensaver on her phone. So I
talked about how I don't know how I've already felt
like it made an impact in my life, and Aaron
did hers. I'm so proud of you. Lots of fun
once it twice. Oh look what she made me do.
So yeah, put your vision board as your screen saver
(37:59):
on your phone manifest And I'm not like a big
leg oh manifest, but it works.
Speaker 2 (38:03):
I'm telling you.
Speaker 1 (38:04):
The one time I did a vision board, everything on
that thing came true. It makes a difference. So I
love it on the front of your phone. Things you
want to happen in your life, and I'd be surprised.
Speaker 2 (38:14):
They come through.
Speaker 1 (38:15):
Mac grabbed my phone and Jerry took it away from
him and he goes because it's now like my wallpaper,
like you told me, and Jered goes, is this yours?
And I was like, yeah, don't worry about that, the
picture of being Chris Hem's work.
Speaker 2 (38:26):
Don't worry. No, I'm kidding, that's not yours.
Speaker 1 (38:30):
I'll tell you what's going to be on there, Gordon
beersch if Ellen has anything to do about it, Ellen,
She'll find you.
Speaker 2 (38:36):
I'll find you by everybody. I have a great week.
Things for love you.
