(01:05):
know that my number one rule of money is that
your health is your wealth. You can't be wealthy if
you are not healthy.
Speaker 3 (01:10):
And that's for us.
Speaker 1 (01:11):
That's why I always talk about my good friend Matt Chalmers.
You guys, this is the guy, This is the doctor
that other people send their patients to what they don't
know what's wrong with them. Matt doing some incredible things,
not just in the cannabis space, but in the addiction space.
It's actally has a Ted talk that just dropped. The
Ted Talk is literally something that's being shadow banned. We
really want to put a big push on getting it
out there, so please share that Ted talk with your friends, with.
Speaker 3 (01:33):
Your family, put it on your socials.
Speaker 1 (01:35):
Ted is actually actively shadow banning it, if you will. Now,
why would they do something like that when the gentleman
is talking about curing the opioid epidemic that we have
and doing it with medical great cannabis. Obviously we know
the big pharma has a lot of power and pull,
So do me a favor. Share that video. You can
find that video on our website. You can find it
on Chalmers' website dm ME. You can see it on
(01:56):
my website. More importantly, go to his website Charmers Wellness
dot or Betty at call him direct two one four
four four six fifty three hundred. Now today, ladies and gentlemen,
if you are watching this on YouTube, you can see
we have a little bit of a different set. So
show set designed today. Why is that, Well, obviously this
is what we call our super Bowl. Next week, we're
going to be at mjbiscon. In fact, Matt Chalmers is
(02:18):
going to be there, are all of our sponsors and
then they are strategic partners are going to be there.
It is the world's largest cannabis UH convention, if you will,
in the world, and it's at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
We take both sides at the convention hall, and Cannabis
Talk one on one has the largest footprint there. We
bring the whole show set. I'm going to be doing
shows there live. Joe and Blue are going to be
doing doing shows there live. It is literally the super
(02:40):
Bowl of cannabis for us. So we can't wait to
see you guys out there.
Speaker 3 (02:43):
Now.
Speaker 1 (02:43):
Today's show, guys, obviously, going into the holiday season, is
giving back and charity, and this is something that's dear
to my heart. It is something that I really want
to break this down for you because some of you
may be struggling, some of you may be thinking how
can I give back this holiday season? And first let
me start you off with you know, this year more
important than any than any year. I think people are
going to be hurting. You know, we've talked about inflation
(03:05):
on my show. You've seen my Insider show talking about
inflation three or four years ago.
Speaker 3 (03:10):
And what is inflation.
Speaker 1 (03:11):
It's literally the cost of goods that's more expensive today.
And for the longest time, the government was telling you
that your numbers are three to four percent, and I
was telling you, guys, it's already double digits. When you
think about it, is MiGs, MiGs, eggs, milk baked. Is
that just three to four percent more or are you
almost paying double? So if you think about the average
family who's living almost paycheck to paycheck, or has a
(03:32):
couple of kids they're trying to put through school and
everything's double, the government's telling you you're only paying three
to four percent this year, and last year they finally
admitted it's seven to nine percent and I've been saying
all along, it's probably closer to twenty percent.
Speaker 3 (03:44):
Now. The reason why they're lying to you is.
Speaker 1 (03:46):
Because if they have to really tell you the truth,
first of all, you'd be pissed off at your money
manager who's only making you seven to eight percent, think
that he's doing good for you. And we can go
into a whole little nuanced and rabbit holes on matt
and I've done several shows on that. But the point
is this year, more than ever, I think kids are
going to be left with out. There's so many problems
in the United States. It frustrates the hell out of
me when we're giving all these money to all these
(04:07):
other countries and their wars, and we're so focused about
everybody else when we're leaving people hanging here in the
United States of America. So that's why I'm excited to
talk about what I'm going to talk to you about today,
which is getting involved and being a part of the
Guinness Book of World Records World's Largest Toy Drive. Now
I'm going to touch based on that in second segment,
but first I want to educate you guys about what
a good charity is and a bad charity and It
(04:29):
frustrates the hell out of me because I've got scammed
before on bad charities. Now I use the word scam,
and I'm going to give you some asterisks and some
kind of caveats on this, because not everything is a scam.
But you've got to watch where your money goes, right,
What do I mean by that? For many years I
used to sponsor American Cancer Society relay races and I
(04:51):
would host casino events. I would throw parties and put
the cost of the event I would pay out of
my own pocket, and then we would do a casino
night for example. Give all that money to an organization
like that. Now, I don't want to pick on them specifically,
because there's at least they're doing something right. But what
I don't like to see is will you google how
much does the CEO of Red Cross may or pick
(05:13):
your favorite charity? The Santa Claus shaking guys everybody?
Speaker 3 (05:17):
Right when you look at it, if there's a hierarchy where.
Speaker 1 (05:20):
You have CEOs making millions of dollars and multiple layers
of management making multiple six figures, to me, that's not
a true nonprofit. They are nonprofit by design. They're saying
they're getting back to charity, which they do, but also
there's an adherent you know, organization, or they're buying real
estate specifically, some of these cancer charities. You look at
the numbers and really dig into it, and come to
(05:41):
find out they own patents on cancer drugs, but they're
putting less than one to three percent of the money
actually towards a cure. Because if you think about it,
you know, when this country in this world came together,
they were able to cure and come out with vaccines
for other things pretty damn quick. And for so many
years they've been raising billions and trillions of dollars, and
then they keep coming up with more treatments, and then
(06:02):
the cure just seems to always kind of be in
the distance.
Speaker 3 (06:04):
So again, not to.
Speaker 1 (06:06):
Be a hip conspiracy theorist, but come to find out
the past several years, a lot of the things that
people were calling me a conspiracy theorist about ends up
actually being true. So bottom line is, if you are
giving to a charity, do me favorite really dig into
it and see is there a ceo making money, who's
paying the overhead? How much percent is actually going to
the cause that you want to.
Speaker 3 (06:26):
Give back to right.
Speaker 1 (06:27):
So with that said, guys, you know the next thing
that I'm gonna talk to you guys about today, I
have zero financial interest in.
Speaker 3 (06:34):
This is just somebody that I really admire.
Speaker 1 (06:36):
He has a business partner online on some of these
Ever Bowl stores that we've opened up together. But this
is somebody who I've watched from a distance for over
a decade and watching what he does constantly giving back,
paying it forward. You know, everybody looks at his life
and probably thinks, God, you're so lucky. Hey, they don't
know the amount of work this man puts in to
do what he's doing. But most importantly, they don't realize
what a you know, even right now, he does not
(06:58):
want me to talk about him by day. He doesn't
want to get tagged, he doesn't want to notoriety. He
just wants people to get involved. And that's why I'm
excited to talk about today's episode. Right. So if you
want to get involved, and you want to say, hey,
well how can I get involved? The first thing is
it is called the World's Largest Toy Drive, ladies and gentlemen.
So this is put on by a good friend of mine,
Dan Fleischman. Dan's been given to charity since I think
(07:20):
he was born. But he does well for himself. He's
an angel investor. He's involved in multiple projects, not just
with me, but with many celebrities. Drew Brees he brought
into our ever Bowl locations now and he's invested with us.
And you know, I've been at events when he brings
Shack in and every celebrity of the world. Practically you
know Dan has access to but he doesn't do it
from a Hey, watch me hang out with these cool guys.
(07:41):
He always brings these people into his ecosystem so that
he can give back to charity. A couple of events
I've gone to and there's always a charity poker tournament.
Speaker 3 (07:48):
He'll have some of his friends there, Kevin Hart.
Speaker 1 (07:51):
Et cetera, et cetera, Ed will Ka poker in a
day and obviously six figures of more going to these charities.
So what Dan did last year, if you guys lived
in la or if you go Sofi, he basically rented
out Sofi Stadium and broke the Guinness Book of World's
record for the largest toy drive in the world. And
they covered the entire football field. Every inch of grass
was covered with a toy he invited local cherry just
(08:13):
come and pick it out. Now this year, you guys,
he's done even bigger. He's doing something that he really
wants to set the bar high, and that's what I'm
excited to.
Speaker 3 (08:20):
Help him out. He didn't ask for this specifically.
Speaker 1 (08:22):
But just watching what he does inspired me to do
this with share this with my audio. So when we
come back, I'm gonna give you guys the ten cities
that he's doing this and he's literally flying to every
ten city in fifteen days.
Speaker 3 (08:33):
He's going to be a part of this. We're all
going to be a part of this.
Speaker 1 (08:35):
When we come back on Cannabis Talk one on one
Financial Fridays, and we'll give you other days.
Speaker 2 (08:38):

that somebody does the same thing in your country, and

You'll see what I'm talking about Master Mentors Live.
Speaker 1 (15:43):
Guys, Now we're back on financial Fridays talking about one
of my favorite things, which is given Back, and two
ideas that I have for you and things that I've
done in the past that actually work out great. So
if you're short on money for the holidays, here if
you just kind of want to fresh start for the
new year.
Speaker 3 (15:57):
It's something that's ironical enough.
Speaker 1 (15:59):
Dan has coined to raise two Years too Long and
it's a new movement he started, but it's something I've
been doing for years. And what I would do is
I would kind of look in my closet right now.
I love shoes and I love clothes essentially, but I'm
like kind of like a woman, I have way too
many clothes that I never wear in my closets never
big enough, right, And so one of the things that
he's come up with, and I love the concept behind,
(16:20):
is if you look in your closet and you're like,
you know, there's some snow boots that are a snowboard. Yeah,
that stuff maybe you haven't used for a few years
because you're taking a break. But if you look at
every other article in your closet, if it's one year,
you're like, all right, maybe i'll wear it next year.
You're kind of off on your weight by five or
ten pounds, you don't fit so right in it. But
if that thing sat in your closet for two years
or longer, most likely you're never gonna wear it again.
(16:40):
You're just gonna keep looking at it thinking there's gonna
be a time that you're gonna wear it.
Speaker 3 (16:43):
That you never wear it.
Speaker 1 (16:44):
Meantime, you go buy new stuff to put in the
closet and you're jamming it in there two years too long.
Get rid of it, sell it, put it on poshchmark,
put it on eBay. There's a buyer for everything. Any
man's junk is another man's treasure. More importantly, just say
you know what I'm gonna make a hobby of this.
Take half of it, do something fun with it, the
other half give it to charity. Obviously there's a churnable
component to the show today, but I love the concept
(17:05):
behind two Years Too Long because it just declutters your life.
It gives you a way to just give back, go
to local, give it to your local good year, call
it in as a tax you know right off if
you will really really generous that good year in terms
of giving you receipts for your tax ride offs. So
it's something that you can kind of do fun with
your kids as well. I think that's something that I
don't see enough parents doing with their children, is instilling
(17:26):
these values with them early on. So you just see these,
you know, some really great kids, but the awful kids
I can just tell I haven't had that in them.
So make it a fun game with your kids, you know,
just go through their closet if there's a toy that
they haven't touched and you know you're not you're not
gonna need it, instead of throwing away, just you know,
try to get them into charitable mindedness. And I think
that's that's something that I would love to do if
I had children. But when I have access to little
(17:48):
minds that I have that I can make an impression on.
It's something that I really enjoy doing, teaching them about
little charity events. You know this event with the world's
largest toy drive. Make a day of it with your kids.
The Hubble studios that are in La here close to
us are awesome, but every one of these drop off
locations are pretty cool venues. So you could make it
a day of it with the kids. Pack up some toys,
buy some toys online, go to Target and get something
(18:10):
and really, let's try to make a difference this year.
Another idea I have for you, and this one I
really enjoy talking about because it was one of the
coolest things that I did and it didn't really cost
me anything other than my time, which is valuable. So
that's why sometimes your time just invested into an organization
or just doing a small active kindness, you're spending more
money and giving back in a bigger way than even
(18:31):
with your cash. Cash has always got power, but so
does your time. So if you remember during the pandemic,
if you will, that we had a couple of years ago,
there was a time during the first stages of it
where the Santas were out of business. The kids couldn't
go see Santa Claus. You know, they weren't really having
any holidays. The old timers were stuck in these nursing homes.
(18:54):
Some of these here in California were just awful. You
couldn't see the patient. Maybe it was through a clear
glass window. It was just something out of a just
a horror flick, if you will. Right, So, these kids
are stuck at home, they haven't seen Santa. They're kind
of stuck with the same group of people. And then
you how these old timers. So after kind of watching
some of my friends like Dan constantly doing cool charitable events,
(19:15):
I kind of was racking my brain on what could
I do. So I ordered a Santa Santa costume offline.
It landed there two days later, the full deck out.
I think I would try to do that again this year.
But it was really fun.
Speaker 3 (19:26):
Guys.
Speaker 1 (19:27):
It caused me fifty bucks to get this costume, and
I bought a boatload of toys, and I reached out
to people that I knew, some of the single moms
that I knew, some of the people that I knew
were possibly hurting, and I just said, hey, would it
be okay if I showed up at your door just
as Santa, just dropping off some some toys. And not
only were they got getting into it, but they were
telling me who else I could help, or who was
(19:48):
suffering from depression or you know, some of these kids
were really getting isolated, and by not having this exposure
during their you know, high functioning years where their brains
are forming at such a young age, you know, being isolated,
it was just brutal on them. So any little thing
was going to make a difference. So one day it
turned into I think a three day event where I
was just knocking on doors and it was really cool
driving around with my windows down just the Santa. The
(20:10):
looks that I was getting was awesome. But then I realized, well,
there's the young gift. Kids were hurting, but these old
times were hurting too. So I contacted a couple of
nursing homes and they were really.
Speaker 3 (20:21):
Bad about it.
Speaker 1 (20:21):
Man, some of these guys have awful man, And no,
you can't come in without signing waiver.
Speaker 3 (20:26):
So I still took control.
Speaker 1 (20:27):
I kind of still went there anyway and just walked
around a wave at people, and you'd be amazed at
just what a smile, what a wave did for people,
and it just it wore my heart.
Speaker 3 (20:37):
It felt good.
Speaker 1 (20:38):
It took two days out of my time that I
