feels like for damn near a month, and uh, it's
it's sequel to my own it. It's like a big
thing for me on Synquel to Mile. Right, it's like
for me personally growing up in the Bay Area. San
Jose had some of the biggest Syncle to Mile parties
in the country, you know. And I remember being so high,

smoking blunts walking down Santa Clara Street, like if we
was legal back then. Right, it's so funny going to
like a Stevie b concert or I think.

Of like war Tower of Power.

You guys, nd up exactly, Do you guys know what
I'm talking about? Cruising the streets out there from the
Bay to La it was such a big thing. And
as it's sequel to Mile, we're not going to be
able to go to our favorite Mexican restaurants and go celebrate.
And I want to get your guys's thoughts on how
it feels to be quarantined on Cigua to Mile Blue.
Starting with you, what memories do you have being this

Puerto Rican kid growing up in Los Angeles and what
cycle to Mile meant to you?

Speaker 2 (02:20):
Well, you know, it's funny because I always told people
when I was young, you know, if you grew up
in Los Angeles, whether you're Puerto Rican, Cuban, Dominican, you're
pretty much Mexican, you know what I mean? Yeah, because California,
you know, all your friends, you go to their houses.
I mean, there's a few cities that have their their
strategic areas, you know, but but ultimately, man, what walk

growing up? You know, I remember the face painting. There
was a lot of face painting out there. You know.
During the Cego de Mayo we always had it was
a Drinko de Mayo is what we called it. You know,
we had a we had drinks that day. And you know,
it's a cultural thing for the Hispanics, I think, all
across the country. So it's it's been a warm feeling.
It kind of brings some memories of being a youngster

though and having fun out there.

Oh, there was so much fun. And I'm sure Mark,
you had to have a lowrider. Growing up the way
you are, you're so culturally diverse, it's like, you know,
I could just see you with a Mexican flag in
a yamica.

And bouncing up and down low rot So you know what,
one of my one of my favorite memories of Cinco
Demayo is when we were kids, actually, big brother you
might remember this, our mom and dad would take us
to Alvero Street.

In downtown downtown Los Angeles.

And you know, as you know, they would have be
steeped in Mexican culture and the parades and lots of
activities going on, and really to teach us the culture that.

Came with Sinco demiyo, you know.

And then of course as I got older, all Sinko
Demayo was to me was just another day that I
could drink all day, all night, all morning, because I
am an alcoholic, and this Cinco Demao actually has very
special importance to me because one year ago today May fifth,
was the last time I had a drink.

when my brother almost punched me in the face.

Well, exactly, Craig. I mean, I'm sure you got some stories.
Bottom line, you married a sequel to mile Queen had
a whittier and I'm sure you and Amanda got sequel.

Well, I mean, actually it's funny though my what my
brother brought up. I was gonna say that as well,
about how our parents took us to uh up in
La to all Vero Street, And it's pretty authentic, you know,
back then, thirty years forty years ago.

I don't know how I know it's the same. That's
a very very Latin've been there in a long time.
But uh yeah, now now I get homemade the males
and we party, we have to.

I bet that's revit when you go around your wife's
family too, because Craig's wife's very Latin Italian as well.

same beautiful as could be. We love Amanda. But do

do they celebrate? Did you guys go to the house
and celebrate with their family or anything like that.

No, the family's pretty dispersed out, so that that really
never happened. We usually just party ourselves or go to
a party or go to somewhere like that and have fun.

And speaking of that, going to a party and stuff,
Blue and I were talking offline just a little while
ago and saying how much he and his wife missed
going out and partying like that because cecra to Mile
is a social event. You guys just fit to me
right now, and it's kind of like smoking weed. It's
a very social event. You know, paste do leftime? You know,

I got five on the songs listening to I don't
care if you're in a country and they're smoking and
this whatever it is, it's a community event, just like
cincre to mile Well and Blue saying how much you
miss that?

Speaker 2 (06:32):
Well, you know, it's like a it's like a it's
like it's Saint Patrick's Day almost, you know, but for Hispanics,
you know. And and and I look at it like,
you know, I enjoyed, you know, going to right now.
Just because of the whole quarantine thing, it's been very
awkward because generally we'll go out to dinner at least
two times a week and enjoy a nice little dinner
out together, maybe one night with the kids, one night

just Chelsea and I. And we haven't really been able
to do that. We've been having dinners at home home.
We've still ordered out, but it's not like enjoying one
at the you know, the Rodrigo's or somewhere you know,
a Mexican restaurant that we love, you know.

Speaker 4 (07:08):
And now that's Craig. I'm sure we would probably have
fun too, taking your wife out here. She likes a
rustaurant by my house. But Mark, are you guys used
to doing something too with your family?

Speaker 5 (07:16):
Yeah, we same thing. You know, at least once or
twice a week. I know, me and my wife every
every Saturday Sunday we have our night out for dinner,
you know, and we try to go to the movies
and get out, you know, to you know, Dave and
Busters or someplace like that, do something with the kids.
But you know, now we're home, we're on family game night.

Speaker 3 (07:34):
You know.

Speaker 5 (07:34):
Of course, there's all sorts of movies everywhere and other
things to watch and get outside and walk around, play
some basketball, do some bike riding. There's just you just
got to find other things to do, you know, and
it can really affect your stress levels if you don't.
You know, one of the things I do every morning
is worked out thirty minutes a day, and I think
that's pretty important to do also during this time.

Speaker 4 (07:56):
Yeah, it's always great. You know what's great, it's always
so still Tuesday, so sold, So scuse me with your friends.
I love the fact that Craig, you and Amanda have
called me several times after having a few drinks and
that's always nice and fun. And Marx called me when
he's had too many butterable edible buds.

Speaker 5 (08:13):
But edible, what about Joe, what are you doing to
relieve your stress?

Speaker 4 (08:18):
Joe, Well, hold on, I just got to tell Blue
how funny is this?

Speaker 2 (08:21):
Blue.

I don't know if you get these calls from these guys,
but Mark's is Hey, Joe, I got an idea Mark.

Mark doesn't call me anymore. But Craig and I, you know,
we get we get busy.

Chelsea. Yeah, it was fun. It was late. It was
like eleven twelve. I mean we were were lit.

You know, as you guys drink, we we and Joey
we don't drink anymore. We can't.

You guys are alcoholics.

We just sent each other dirty picks.

Well, you know, I'll tell you what it's. It's one
of those things that you know, you don't really get it,
and so you do it, but like you know, you think, oh,
I'm not going to zoom with my friends and take
shots and stuff like that because it just sounds doesn't
sound right, And when you actually do it, we had
a blast. I mean we were right there just smiling,
talking jokes and having fun, and you know, it actually

brought a good vibe and a friendly feel. I mean
it was something different. I didn't expect it, but it
was nice.

Speaker 3 (09:21):
Right. That was kind of out of the blue little
double date.

Speaker 4 (09:23):
Yeah, it's fun to do things like that. And it's
crazy to think that there's no secret that people are
stressing out so much about this coronavirus pandemic and with
so many people turning to cannabis, which is beautiful because
it's an essential business. You know, dispensaries are open, delivery
services are popping, and I want to ask you guys
to give some advice to everybody I know. Mark, you

just kind of asked me and you said you've been
working out. But besides working out, which is great, what
have you guys been doing to help relieve the stress
out there?

Speaker 3 (09:52):
Craig sex four times a day?

Speaker 6 (09:56):
No, no, you really, no, I'm kidding.

Speaker 3 (09:59):
K Actually I started.

Speaker 6 (10:02):
I started swimming in my pool again. I haven't used
it for years. If I have, I just go in
and get out. But I've literally gone from three laps
up to fifteen laps. And a man and I are
getting out walking and we were up to two and
a half miles and uh, you know, I can smoke
as much wheat as I as I want, but I mean,
you need to get out and releave some stuff, do
a little exercise, cardio. You know, it may really feels

good to get out there. We wear a mask, we
walk around and uh, and that's what we're doing.

Speaker 4 (10:29):
What about you Blue?

Speaker 2 (10:30):
You know what, Uh, I've been drinking a little to it,
but I mean fine. You know it's funny you say
that is I've been reading a lot more. I I
generally don't read that often and as much as much
as I have been at least, and I've noticed my
reading has been just through the roof. I've been you know, uh,
diversifying in the stock market, trying to figure out what's

going on in the stock market and understanding the roller
coaster that it's on. And so for me it's been
I've I've found a new niche. I started reading a
lot more. I probably read, maybe i'd say a ninety
percent more than I've ever ever have.

Speaker 4 (11:07):
Really, I need to start doing that more off too.

Speaker 3 (11:09):
That is free.

Speaker 4 (11:10):
And you know, Mark, I really enjoy watching you work out.
And I'm not even kidding when I say this. You've
actually inspired me because as of this morning, I woke
up at seven am to go work out of my
garage and then after my workout, I went to your
workout to watch yours, but my wife and I did
it together. And of course I started joking with you, saying,
turn your car on, as this car's in the garage.

Speaker 2 (11:30):
It'll make it work out harder.

Speaker 4 (11:32):
I think it'd be.

Here we go.

Hey, if I can inspire one person, that's okay.

What about you?

So Joe's that been you for the workouts? Well, I
just start well, I started doing it at home. We
go with the kids on a daily basis because you know,
we got a seven and a five year old and
they got so much energy it's ridiculous. So we have
to burn some energy with those little cats, and we're
outside on a daily basis. And you know, I find
seeing their joy relief use my stress. When they're stressed,

it makes me more stressed. So you know, when I
see them happy, I'm happy. So it's like, you know,
if we walk to the park, if we go somewhere.
You know, of course, the stress of not working, not this,
not that, but you know those stresses are there. But
for me, seeing my kids happy have has been able
to give me a joy. That's like, you know what,
this too, shell pass and we're all going to get
through it. And I'm so far from alone in this

chaos of the world that we're going through, and we
all have our problems.

We all share.

Real is born in Los Angeles, California, a Cuban American
from Southgate, California. And you know, before dropping out of
high school, he met a guy by the name of

Dog's actually a good friend of mine as well, and
meloman Ace ended up going off to his to do
his own solo thing and then they created a group
called Cypress Hill. So a lot of people may or
may not know who's Cypress Hill, but if you're in
the cannabis industry, you probably know who Cypress Hill is.
But to give you an idea of some of the

people they've worked with, you know or be Real has
worked with is Uh Psycho realm uh Profits of Rage,
which is Chuck d and the former members of Rage
Against the Machine.

They've also worked with people like Doctor Dre Prodigy, Yclef
nas Ice Cube, Everlast, Snoop Dogg, Little John L Cool,
J Berner, just to name a few. Now, the cool

on his site called be Real TV, you know, and

they feature interactive programming all over the internet. And he
hosts the Doctor Green Thumb Show, which on that show
is called the Smoke Box. Now, I know a couple
of guys that were on the smoke the Smoke Box
good friends of mine too. Yeah. Could you imagine who
they might be?

So the other day I got to actually go live
with be Real. It was it was really good. It
was on four twenty, which was historical for me and
I believe all of us. And he actually offered to
bring Joe and I and the Cannabis Talk crew to
the Smoke Box as well and said that he'd like
to be on our show. So I thought, you know,
as much as he does in the cannabis industry, be a.

Great yeah, absolutely great guy.

One hundred percent, you know. And also, you know, just
to give you guys an idea, you know, Yeah, he
has his own strains in the cannabis industry. He also
owns his own dispensaries, Uh, the doctor Green Thumb dispensaries.
And you know this guy, really, I mean, in my opinion,
has been all over the cannabis industry way before his time.
You know we're talking about you know, when I was

eighteen years old or nineteen years old, Cypress Hill was
already talking about you know, cannabis. So with that being said,
I know you guys are all fans of Cypress Hill.
What was your favorite song? Joe from Cypress Hill? Or

I mean, I love be Real personally too, as I've
got a chance to slap hands with them many times,
and I've been a fan of his music before I
actually met him. But when I think of Cypress Hill,
the first thing that comes into my head is, well,
I could just kill him, man.

Well I could just kill him, man. I mean, And
not only that, I remember going to concerts from the
Bay Area to coming out to LA and then actually ironically,
where I became, you know, seeing him on a more
regular basis was ironically at Laker games. Because when I
was covering sports, I would be court side at the
Laker games and so would be real be real seats

were right next to John Blacks, who's the Lakers PR director, right,
so be Real seats were right two rows back from
the court on the left side where the Lakers. He's
right there. So every time I'd walk by him, he'd
be him, Jim Hill, all the you know sports media cats,
so we talk about Lakers, talk about this and that.
So I point it's he's just a good dude. I

get so excited about everything he's doing. I'm so happy
that you're using him as somebody that is a big
influencer that's making waves. Not only that, I ironically just
the other day watched an episode of him and Berner
on Social Club TV. I got it on my Apple app,
on my Apple TV app, and the Los Angeles edition
of b Reels or Not b Reel's Burner's Show, it

was him and showing a lot of stuff of be Real.
So great dude, and I'm just so happy for him.

And Mark how about yourself?

Insane in the membrane, Yeah, man, that I mean that
and hits from the Bong. You know, those were just
just some great, great stuff. And you know, growing up
in the eighties, you know, we were we were all
about that Cypress Hill, you know, me and my buddies
and stuff. So those were the songs that really really

So for me, for me, guys, you know, it's funny
because I've changed this a couple of times. But there's
a song called rock Stars, So you want to be

lot of collaborations on that song for me with him.
But you know, honestly, in my opinion, he's a music
icon and a cannabis icon and it deserves and he

deserves all the credit we could possibly give him.

So you think he's bigger on one of the other,
because when you have said that, I agree, he's a
music icon. But I mean, I'm just wondering what you
guys thinking. This is so random. Do you think he's
a bigger cannabis icon.

No music icon, first for sure. I mean, you know
it's his music that got us all to hear the cannabis.
I believe that he's as big as a cannabis But
I mean, his his music career, in my opinion, all
the different people he's worked with, Like I said, you're
going back to people he's yeah, Yeah, he is a
list one hundred percent, and so he's had the ability

to work with you know, rock groups, rap groups, contrast
is over. Yeah, he's a crossover. I mean, you know,
he's a national recognized artist. A lot of people might
not even know because they globally.

us what's going on in cannabis news.

With nearly two point five million confirmed cases and more
than one hundred and sixty thousand deaths from the coronavirus,
Israel has launched trials using cannabis to fight COVID nineteen. Yes,
three different studies. One study for and Inocan Farm has begun
a collaboration with the Tel Aviv University to develop a

treatment to fight the COVID virus using cambinemanol CBD, using
loaded exosomes exozomes. I have recommend to look that up.
It's small tinys. It's small tiny structures or cells that
are created with stem cells and they multiply and they
move throughout the body. So it's it's using these exomes

to take the cannabis to wherever it goes in the body.

Interesting in Layman's terms.

A second study they're doing clinical trials and it's another
Israeli based CBD company using their R and D. They're
using steroid treatment. Steroid treatment, it looks like is usually
a first or second line of treatment for hospitalized patients
for whatever the problem may be. CBD enhances the therapeutic
effect of steroid treatment and treats the biomechanism affected by

the virus. So they're going through clinic studies for that.
There's a third study is exacting whether cannabis, because of
the anti inflammatory properties, could slow down the lung infections
experienced by many COVID patients. Tel Aviv's Akalav Medical Center
launched the study to test the effectiveness of cannabis and
treating the COVID nineteen patients with moderate symptoms.

So they're also doing that in Canada, they're sort of doing.

I almost I was gonna weave that. I was gonna
weave that in I saw that as well. They're giving
grants of one hundred thousand dollars to study.

From the States now now California, California. The United States
now is finally learning what Canada is doing, and Israel
saying we need to do that too.

No no, no, no, no, no, no no. Our unfortunate
government is not learning that. They're not listening and they're
not seeing what these other countries are doing.

The organization Nightda is gonna pay one hundred k.

the Canadian government is doing is giving one hundred thousand
dollars grants to actually test cannabis to see if it
can help in the coronavirus.

So far behind on that, on that, you know, when.

I first saw that, Joe, I thought, oh my god,
I thought us the way it was just.

out of Canada, because I thought that was weird that
that it just it.

So unfortunately the headlines Unfortunately we're not following in other
countries footsteps. Israel's been doing it for years, Canada's doing it,
but now they're specifically doing it, like I like, you
know for the COVID nineteen treatment.

Well, this has been doing it for thirty years. Israel
has been on top of it, and we're we're behind.
It's ridiculous, so far behind on that. You know, Well,
the research is key.

We've been talking about research, blue and eye, screaming it down.

Your god, talk about it, about what they ever do it.

But what's funny is what we have a lot of
is anecdotal evidence. Do we all know what anecdotal evidence is?

Anecdotal evidence is when you have a study of ten
people and those people report that they got better, or
you could test them and they say they got better,
or it's one study. It's one thing where somebody took
cannabis and got cured from cancer.

with all the cancer patients that he has.

There's a study, there's an actual another study, there's this
is another less one out of Australia where the use
of medical cannabis in generalized anxiety disorder tremendously helps the
anxiety disorder. But again it's anecdotal. They take somebody, they
give them who has this problem in conjunction with whatever
else they may be taking, and give them cannabis.

Anybody know what the number is to make it more research?
I mean when you say that, is it ten twenty?
I mean I don't know what you're talking about?

does it have to do to be real research? Is
it ten thousand?

they got to actually study the plant under a microscope.

ten people and you actually get them to feel a
certain way, and then you do it again and duplicate
the problem whatever you want.

I agree with Blue because if you listen, if you
read this study, which I actually did, they took a person,
they gave her the cannabis in conjunction for like six months,
and then she couldn't get access to it for four months,
or they took it away for four months, I forget exactly,
and her conditions, her condition got worse. As soon as
she went back on the cannabis, her condition got better.

That's anecdotal evidence. And we have a ton a ton
of that right now from all across. But at least
now we're getting you know, I don't I'm not a skeptic,
but the real testing when the doctors get to run
tests on the plant and they do whatever they do
in those laboratories to find out how it's going to
fight the gene and they break it down into genes

and all that other stuff and molecules, and that's what
real that's that's where the real research is going to
come in. I mean, we have so many now though
that people come to us. We've had kids get better
from kids get better, people get better from cancer by
doing candidates. But you know, so so that's there. But
for the broader spectrum, we need this kind of research.
So instead of just Willy Nelly giving somebody, I mean

they you know, cannabis to try to keep COVID nineteen,
which I don't think it hurt it. But if they
can harness the plant and take massive doses into these
little pills that would kill it.

That would be so much what we need kill it.

And I agree, and Marsha should go from your attacking
me stage a minute ago. I love what this information is.
I'm not against any a little bit of information if
it helps one person, and that one person is displaying
this is what it's done for me. I agree, and
I think that's great evidence to somebody else should try this.
I mean, that's gonna happen. I personally think, though, it's

more research it's for the general population, for the non believers.
I mean, you got a guy like me who doesn't
even smoke weed, who's a believer of it. You know,
I've been sober to over twenty one years, and I
sit here and I support it like no other, And
I go, how can I convince people that I know
that I've seen in AA meetings and AM meetings that go, no,
that's the devil. I'ming you guys, it's not. Well, so

you're a little more open minded to it. And if
they have that research that says, look what it's done,
that's what I mean. By the way, Mark, I don't
think that what you're saying. I agree with everything you
guys are saying. I just want to prove to everybody else.

is that they actually came out with a small pill
called marinal years ago. But the problem with Mary Yeah,
and it was it was supposed to be the cannabis.
But the problem with Marynal is it really didn't have
THC in it. It was actually a synthetic THC, and
so people were taking this maynal instead of smoking because

it was the way to get off of smoking or whatever.
Parents believed in it. And Marinaal ended up becoming like
just a waste of everybody's time and money, and it
tried to hit the market, but it came out the
wrong way. Again, it was a synthetic. Now we're talking about,
you know, the antidotical, antidotic whatever people trying to create
a real solution with a pill. This is amazing. You know,

and the next stimulus bill. Well, many companies, you know,
are getting benefits from the government to help this COVID

nineteen battle that's an effected the whole economy and everybody else.
Cannabis is one of the industries that's been overlooked, and
we were talking about it on a previous podcast, saying
that's bullshit, we did.

These people are paying taxes, are paying more and more
and more, and not only that, how many people do

have been affected by this and the government are helping

Right now, not a lot, because the small businesses aren't
getting the funds that they were supposed to get and

are that are sending back. Some of them are sending
back the money.

Some aren't. The Lakers, the Lakers. Lakers, Yeah, the Lakers,
the couple million. I know.

The people that I know is the Lakers, Harvard, Uh,
this other company, this other food company, I forgot their
name right now. I've had sacks, snackshack or whatever. I mean.

It's check company, shake, shaking, sh shake and shake, say

But my point is we all know somebody those are
even companies. Yeah, the Lakers gave back I think it
was like nineteen million dollars whatever it does millions of

A half million. But I mean he's talking even people
like don't you guys know people personally that have been
affected by this, Like the government needs to help out
these cannabis companies that need to help out the people.
I mean, I'm talking about normal folks out there that
have been paying taxes, and you know a lot of
these people that are working in the cannabis industry, they
fall in line, especially these companies that fall in line. Now, however,

this change is all coming about because of the Democrats
trying to get help from the cannabis companies. If they
can succeed, it'd be great. Now, I want to tell
you guys some numbers that have been going on out
there since Colorado started selling adult use in twenty fourteen.
Sales in the industry for both adult and medical have
totaled more than eight billion dollars since they legalized it

(31:27):
out there. Eight with the b folks. Eight billion. Yeah,
Colorado was off to its hottest start to in twenty
twenty before the coronavirus pandemic hit this February. Right this February,
approximately one hundred and thirty nine point seven million dollars
was sold the weed products and everything else over ninety
nine percent of January's total. So this year alone, it's

(31:47):
just skyrocketed. January is big. February one hundred and thirty nine,
almost fifteen percent higher than February of twenty nineteen, which
twenty nineteen they made over one hundred and nineteen million,
almost thirty six er percent higher than the February average
sales of twenty fourteen to twenty nineteen. The point is
that I'm trying to get to you guys, they're paying

(32:10):
a shitload of money in taxes if they're making that
much money. So my logic what I'm trying to mass.

Speaker 5 (32:19):
How can they ignore these numbers the federal government and
keep it.

Speaker 3 (32:22):
That's what I'm illegal.

Exactly what I'm pointing out, Mark, And that's why I
point out these numbers to sit there and say, oh,
I wonder what they're going. I mean, this past year,
twenty nineteen, they sent a record as the state generated
one point seven billion in sales, which is a thirteen
percent increase from the prior year. Not only how can
they not see this from a pandemic standpoint for helping
the cannabis industry? When are you other state's going to

open your fucking eyes and realize how much money you
can make. Look what Colorado's making, Look what California's making,
and the black market's making even more. For God's sakes, Joe.

I agree with you, But I think the problem is
is that a lot of these states don't want to
open their eyes is because they feel that there's an
ethical problem with it, which which you know, they're from
the old school. They come with these towns. It's an
ethical thing. It's not about money. Second thing I want
to say is this is that right now, if you
if you think about all these companies that have made
this money, not all of them are paying taxes. As

Craig said before, like a lot of these guys owe
taxes to the ying Yang. They just haven't really paid
their taxes yet. So in other words, they haven't really
seen the tax money. They see the revenues, but not
the tax money yet.

So as that starts to come, we'll have quarters, it'll
start to show a much bigger profit, and I think
they'll start to wake up. As you say that, Blue,
it makes me think of any and every other company
out there that we've seen that people have had tax
problems with just because a few cannabis companies haven't paid
their damn taxes. People don't use that as propaganda and
act like, oh, they're not doing it. How many other

companies do we know out there that are in the
same boat, you know what I mean, and that are
riding off everything and doing everything else people, but no,
people are paying every industry they're paying too much.

Well, anybody, anytime, anybody can you know, find a reason
to attack cannabis and the cannabis business. They're going to

need to open their headphones off, open open their eyes

violence and everything that people portrayed about a dispensary that

that didn't happen. And it's not happening. Actually the opposite.

There was an article that regarding Charlotte's web where when
she passed away, there was Republican Senators who have taken
the first step and legalized hemp because of her opening

their eyes before. Hemp was Schedule one up until very recently,
the very Schedule one. But you have you have the
majority Leader McConnell pushed for the HEMP initiative to get
for the new Farm Baill Act, so it went off
scheduled completely.

Direction, Mark, And why why is the federal government allowing
people to still get arrested and jailed for hemp when
it's legal?

to pull some morals out of the story, and of
course notewhere it goes bad. Now, this first story really
just a big headline. The story itself was nothing, but
I couldn't get away from the headline out of Las Vegas.
Headline reads, please seize eight point six million dollars worth
of cannabis in a record breaking raid.

That's right.

Speaker 5 (41:48):
They raided a warehouse and found five thousand, seven hundred plants,
and they say it's.

Speaker 3 (41:54):
Worth eight point six million.

Speaker 5 (41:56):
We know they always inflate those prices, but fifty seven
hundred plants, that is going to be a lot. And
the one moral we can pull out of this story.
The black market is thriving now before you're getting that.

Speaker 4 (42:08):
In Vegas too. I didn't realize Vegas had somebody illegal.
That's a big place, big blue. How big the spot
you have to have to five thousands, seven hundred plants?

Speaker 2 (42:18):
You know, probably ten ten to fifteen thousand square feet?

Speaker 4 (42:23):
How big was How big of a grow did you have?
Do you have five thousand plants or no.

That's Joe. Joe had ten thousand.

I never Here's the thing, I never really count plants.
I've always counted lights. So three hundred lights is a
you know about where I peaked out at. But I
was managing several.

could do.

you know, twelves eight. Sometimes people like to do them smaller, shorter,

last week we had a food story, and I know

The headline reads, pot found hidden in cheeseburger.

After traffic stop. Well, well, you ever put pot in
your cheeseburger, Joe.

Back in the day, I'm sure I did.

I did, I did, I did.

Speaker 6 (43:29):
It was nasty, it was super nasty. But I was
I was on a bus.

I was. I was on a bus.

Coming home from jew Camp and we had some still
Wish jew Camp Jewish summer camp, and and and we couldn't.

We just couldn't smoke it. There was no way.

So we put it in our hamburgers that we bought
from I don't know where, and uh yeah, I ate
it before we decided.

I really need to know what goes on at jew Camp.

So so back to these two men who faced numerous
charges after a traffic stop yielded cannabis and heroin hidden
in a cheeseburger and more than an ounce of cocaine
package for sale. Now, what did I say? The headline
was guys kind of downing cheeseburger. Nope, they can't go

(44:30):
with the heroin or the coke. They gotta go with
the pot. And you know that's a big, big pet
peeve of mine. We always see that. So here's how
it goes down. Police officer, while making a random license
plate check, finds the registration on a silver Accura was expired.
This is why it's very important to make sure you're
tags always up to date. The officer followed the car

(44:53):
into a nearby McDonald's parking lot, and when the accurate
came out of the drive through, it was pulled over.

Speaker 3 (45:01):
Passenger Anthony Garcia tried.

Speaker 2 (45:04):
Do you know him?

Speaker 5 (45:04):
Joe tried to get out carrying a brown paper bag,
but was told to stay put. So, yeah, he's lucky
he didn't get shot. You know, and this is a
good teaching moment. Whenever you get pulled over, even if
it's bullshit and they profiled, you never just stop and
get out of your vehicle. You know, you stop, you
turn your car off, put your hands on the steering
wheel and wait for the office.

Run just get out and run.

Well, you know that the habit you might have had,
but you can't do that.

We advise against it.

Now.

Guess what the car smelled like? Cannabis?

And while speaking to the driver, Miguel Angel Cruz, Blue,
do you know him? The officer saw a joint in
the area of the center console. He saw a joint
in the area of the center console. Big brother, when
something is laying out like that, what do.

Speaker 3 (45:53):
We call it? Plane view?

Speaker 5 (45:56):
That's right, plane view, which means no warrant is needed
and they can go ahead and search the vehicle. But
first the officer ran Cruz's license, which came back suspended,
and he also learned that Cruz had warrants involving driving
under the influence and drug possession. So the officer conducted

(46:17):
a search of the car. He found that one of
the men had eaten the joint and when checked, parts
of it were found in his mouth. So he made
him open his mouth, ah, and went in there and
saw that there were remnants of the joint the pot
were in his mouth. While further searching the car, they
find more than an ounce of cocaine separated in three bags,

(46:41):
and more heroin for a total of twelve grams. Also
and the big big part of the bust half ounce
of cannabis.

Speaker 3 (46:49):
Guys, half an ounce of cannabis probably half time.

Speaker 2 (46:54):
This is so ridiculous, Mark, I really appreciate you for
doing this because it is so ridiculous to hear or
them come out when when they say they found it
heroin and the headline is cannabis, I mean.

Oh, a half out now after being read his rights, Joe,
you know those rights, Joe, You've had him read to
you a few times.

I was faced down.

Speaker 3 (47:18):
It was hard to hear.

Well, here i'll remind you it's it's the right to
remain silent. Anything you say canon will be used against
you in a court of law. You have the right
to an attorney. If you cannot afford an attorney, one
will be appointed to you. Now, after being read those rights,
after being told anything you say will be used against you.

Guess what Crews told No, I'm sorry, he told them.

He told them that they were planning to sell the drugs.
So instead of possession, boom, possession with the intent to
sell because he said that. Now, All in all, the
charges charges include possession with intent to deliver drugs two counts,

conspiracy to deliver drugs two counts, possession of controlled substance
