I got a very special guest with me today. Now,
I didn't have a lot of people on my podcast,
from friends to family and everything like that, but this
person is by far my favoritest person in the world.
You want me telling who you want to do yourself?

(00:42):
All right? So you already heard the voice dad giveaway
without further ado, my son, my baby legend in the making,
Yours truly, Ashton James Nick the voice bag say what's
up to him? What's up? Now? Listen, we all know
you to be my son, but we don't know you

(01:03):
like that. I mean, I know you, but I don't
really know you like that. So we're gonna get all
up in your business or whatever. Right, I'm pretty sure
stuff going on in your life too, right, Yeah, I
know you got life too, I get it. I see.
All right, We're gonna start with school because one day
last week you told me that you liked a particular girl.
You know what I mean. And he was like, I'm
gonna go to school and I'm gonna tell her I

(01:25):
like her Monday. Did you end up telling them? Yes,
you told him all right. What she saying she said,
she don't know, She said show up what she don't know?
I don't know. She said, she don't know if she
liked me. She says, she don't know if she like you.
What you do? Nothing? Nah, bro, girl just ain't gonna
tell you show no. I mean like you got all

(01:48):
the swag. You're cool, you're popular, you're smart. What are
you crazy? You're smart as a whip. You are a genius.
Let's go telling about these grades. What are you talking about?
In math it was a hundred and Jim, it was
a one hundred. In science it was a ninety three,

(02:10):
and in reading it was a nineties seven and then
are it was. Listen, don't you ever state that you
ain't that smart? Bro? You are smart. You're ahead of
your class. And I ain't talk about how big it is.
I'm talking about like you are ahead of your class
for sure. You know that. You let me get started

(02:34):
on your head though, first of all, showt you. We
ain't even really be doing a roasting because you already No,
I can go twenty rounds. No, no, you already. I
can go a Hundrey round on you round. We can
go twenty rounds. I'll win twenty rounds. We can go
a million rounds. I win a million rounds. Shorty, You're
never beating me and roasting. That's always how beaten you.

(02:54):
You have never beaten. Mend my dog can beat you
and roasting. Now you're just talking out the side of
your little head now like you just definitely just saying anything.
Let's get back to this girl. So yeah, don't and
don't make me say her name. You said, don't say
her name. I ain't gonna say it. But you keep
on trying roast me on the load. I'm gonna tell
everybody that you like, all right, right, all right, right?

(03:19):
So what so what did you do for her to
tell you that you don't know that she don't wasn't
doing nothing. She just said she don't know. Yeah, she
just said you know. Yeah. Now did you do something
for her that one of your friends do something to her,
like for her just before like the at the startup
um at the Starom fourth grade on My Homeboy one

(03:42):
of my homeboys. They just went up to her and said,
she a bump? What diem? He just was like, you're
a bumm, y'all? Yes, what you do? He was starting
to your girl like talking to my friends just before.
Oh so you and like her when your homeboy called
up bum? No, this was before, it's before you like there? Right? Okay,

(04:08):
So so do you feel like she's a bum? No? No,
did you feel like she was a bum? Then? So
why are you say that? Like? Why are you? I
don't want to talk about that almore? All right, all right,
all right? What you want to talk about? When you're
gonna put me on? We're gonna give me mom show.
I first of all, what put the hella look like?
Fifty cent on? Tyler Parry? I can't give you a

(04:28):
damn show. We can get you a show together when
you start being serious about TV type of show? Serious? Yo,
You change your occupation every damn day. You want to
play basketball? Do you want to sell cars? And you
want to be a copy you want to be a
rapper like you always change up. I don't know what
you want to do. And one thing I'm not gonna do.

(04:49):
I'm not gonna put all your eggs in one bast
gonna put you on TV and then one day you
wake up and be like, I don't want to do
this because you know how you are. You're very indecisive
and you're only nine, so you don't know what you
want to do. That can shorty. We're not gonna lie
to the people that already know how old you are.
We just can't. Like, come on, so what would you
have a show about? What do you want with football?

(05:11):
You would have a football show? And I've never seen
the football show? What what is that? It's gonna be
about me going to football camp? So it's like a
reality show like with you. Okay, what's your favorite football team? No,
what's your favorite football Oh? The Ravens? What's your football team?

(05:32):
Ain't I don't like Bro? I ain't trying to say it.
I knew he was gonna stay with your big It
is not it ain't. No, they're not trash, No, they
suck trash. What's that record? Then? What's what's the skillers record? Yo?
I just be so busy. I don't be getting time.

(05:54):
They got they got less wins. They don't even say,
don't right they got less? Old? Are right? They got
less wins than losses. But you don't know their record though,
so you don't even know if that's true. No, I
do know it's true. What is y'all stinking as record?
Seven and two? I mean seven and three? Trash all day?

(06:14):
I'm you're wondering how we were to the Dolphins but
went against the Bears. Oh, that's what you're wondering, because
y'are some trash. That's how trash. That was the most
trash this game I've ever watched the Ravens versus the Dolphins.
They really let yo that really let alarm and run
the ball. But um, it was it was a flag

(06:36):
because he wasn't supposed to do that. Or it's not
like you know a lot about football and you would
like a show gearing around, you know, you learning how
to play and going to camp and stuff. Okay, well,
what positions have you played so far? Receiver, running back,

(06:57):
in corner, corner. I used to play d n Um,
I play safety. Okay, what position did you like playing
the best? You like catching the ball and running it. Yeah,
you are really good with that. Um, you used to
really like basketball though. I got a joke about oh

(07:21):
yeah about the lady coming out of her beast and
body words. Yeah, how you crossed the upp and ship?
I thought, I think that's still funny to this day.
But um, she was very old, so that's kind of Yeah,
she was old as a bit. But it's all good though,
like she You know, we we like old people, right,
they're cool. I said, we like old people, right, they're cool. Yo,

(07:41):
you ain't trying to have no old people canceled? Yeah
it's you. Oh please, I know because they got Instagram
to you. I can get canceled. I ain't trying. Hey,
you get canceled guys. Maybe on Facebook? Hey, yo, not
you know about the old head Club? Because that's literally you?
What's me? How old am I not? Know? How old

(08:06):
am I? I'm twenty nine, bro, I'm not old. No,
it's not. It's literally is not. How old is your grandmother? Two?
That's old you're talking about Damn, Oh that's old. That's
not your granny old, your grandmoma old? Bro. I don't
care if she is my mom? She Oh how does
it feel being a son of a comedian? How what

(08:29):
do you think? It's good? I think so good? What
about it feels good that people know me? Or that
I'm funny, I'm your mom, Like what what about it?
It's funny? Good because like everybody know you, and because
like of you, a lot of people know me. So
like every time, like at school, a lot of the

(08:53):
kids and higher grades to me, they'd be like, that's
just a son. Yeah like that, don't you That's good.
It feels good that people, uh know, know you for
something good. You know, you don't want people to know
you for anything bad. And um, although I have had
a bunch of controversies where you know, I may say

(09:14):
something that may get me in trouble with the world
or my fans or you know, that doesn't make me
a bad person. And I want to let you know
I actually became famous because I took a picture with
you and I was naked. Remember that picture. Yeah, we
actually have it on our wall right now. Yeah. And um,
a comedian had came at me. Remember that, somebody that

(09:36):
came at me, And he was talking crap about me
and you and ship And that's how I became a comedian. Actually,
I was roasting him back and forth. He's another comedian
and I actually went to wilding out. That's how I
got on wilding Out. I called myself auditioning because I
knew he was on that show, and so I went
up there just you know, getting his ass because you know,
you my baby, and I just wasn't. I ain't like

(09:58):
how he was talking about you and like he was
talking about me. I went up there and I ended
up getting on the show. And you were actually the
first kid on Wilding Out. You didn't even know that,
did you? Yeah, you was the first kid on Wilding Out.
Ashton made his TV debut on MTVS Wilding Out. Um.
I brought him up there my first year to film

(10:19):
that week and Nick literally was like, no, I want
he could be in this episode. Like, so you were
the first kid before Nick's eleven kids, Like you were
the first kid on Wilding Out And I love that.
That's really dope. You're still the only kid who was
on there. How do you feel about that? Well, it's
starting to brag about yeah't really too hype about it.

(10:43):
You just be chilling. My son is so chills, Like
literally nothing gets to him at all. I'm trying to
figure out why the hell he's so damn calm about
certain things. But that's just him, That's who he is.
That's that's my baby. Um, but I have you had shows?
How they went good? They went good? This past weekend
I didn't have shows, guys, two sold out theater shows

(11:06):
at Center Stage in Atlanta, Um, November nineteening because I'm
proud of you, because all your shows, before you even
get to a city or a state, they'd be already
so dope and like an hour, I know they definitely
be sold out. Um, I remember listening. Not all my
shows all out in an hour, but that one year

(11:27):
I did Baltimore Hippo Drome, like I think it was
like three years ago. Those tickets sold in an hour.
That is so funny. That's the show that you're talking about.
But you yeah, so that's the first and only time
that happened. But that was like a big accomplishment, Like
a huge accomplishment for me. I sold out of a
theater and like an hour, like in Baltimore City, in

(11:50):
my own city. And that reminds me. I have the
same exact venue to play this Friday, the Appo Droma.
I'll be at the theater again, So get your tickety
way home. I saw you on the on the settor
your your name on the Setler and bill boards and everywhere.
How does that make you feel good? Because I'm glad

(12:13):
your name is getting is like getting out and people,
and people is starting to book you more so you
can make your money because your people. A lot of
people think you're really funny. Yeah, yeah, a lot of
people do thinking funny. Do you think I'm funny? Oh?

(12:36):
Because sometimes remember you used to hate on me. You
remember used to be like, my, you ain't really that funny. Remember,
used to say that. That's when I was little, That's
when he was little. It still hurt my feelings when
you said it. I was playing You're done, definitely what
I'm playing with me? When he was telling me I
wasn't funny, bro, he was like, Yo, I don't know
why anybody keep buying these tickets. Oh, you ain't even

(12:57):
really that funny for real? I didn't stay What did
you say? No, I don't say you wasn't funny. I
was planned, and I was when I was like three, Yo,
you was not three talking about you ain't funny. You
never told me I wasn't funny. You. You was my
biggest fan. When you was like three, you started saying
that ship when you was like six. He was like, yo,

(13:17):
you ain't funny, bro, Like you definitely told me yo, yo,
you like you got a hell of life that you
to live. You know, you've been alive for nine lows,
thinking as like, don't okay, sure to keep laying about
your age. I know this right? All right? Cool? Hold up,

(13:38):
hold up, I know the ship getting good. But listen
to just a couple of seconds of a commercial. If
you love me, you'll listen now. I know you have
a lot of siblings on your father's side. Do you
want any more from me? Yes? I want another brother.
You want a brother? Okay, that's good because I actually
want all boys. I always wanted to have the same

(14:00):
amount of kids that your dad has, like he has
four and impossible, but like I literally wanted like five
or six boys. I want to Like, I wanted all boys,
so all y'all can play sports and do what y'all
wants the care of me. And I wrestle, y'all. You
know I wrestle. You all date on, we go to
the gym, we play. I can't do that with a girl.

(14:22):
So that's why I always wanted boys. You have fun
with me, don't you? Absolutely? And that's what I love.
I love doing those fun activities where we reached each other.
We go play basketball, or we we go play cash
with the football, or I take you to the gym.
It's gonna be real girly. And if we have a girl,
right yep, my room. You don't have to share your

(14:44):
room whatever. Whenever we have more kids, like it will
be enough room for you to have your own rooms. Yeah,
all right, we move a lot, and that's good. Right now,
it's just you and I. It's nobody else that's you know,
coming along with us. So we can move as much
as we want. It's it's always nice. Whatever we move

(15:05):
in that the ship gets nicer and nicer, don't it. Yeah.
So when I get pregnant and I have your brother,
what would you name your brother? Austin A Mari James.
I'm tell you right now, your brother ain't gonna be
no damn James because that's your father's last name, and
I will not have another child with him, So we're
gonna go with More Okay, my last name. All right,

(15:28):
So you like Austin Amrie more. I like Austin and
my Jane. Oh right, we'll talk to your dad about
naming the new kid Austin and Marie James. Because it's
not gonna happen over here. I'm sorry, you ain't gonna
have the same dad. I know. I can't just take
your your dad's last name and give it to somebody

(15:51):
else's child. No, I can't and I will never do that.
I can't deal with with another James. Baby. What do
you want to be when you grow up? Though? Because
I told you occupations chamber? I'm sorry? What aper? One
more time for the people in the back. You want
to be a white wrap? Why in the hell do

(16:11):
you think you can rap? Do? You can't rap? First
of all, you can't come back with I can't rap.
I definitely can rap. Bro, you're gonna be straight dog water.
Why the hell would you want to be a rapper.
You're gonna be straight trash bro, like garbage turtle dukie.
Maybe you ain't gonna you gonna be trash, They're gonna
be muffin Yo, you're straight stole my joke. Bro? Why

(16:36):
you just wanna be a comedian? You don't see yourself
being a comedian. Rapper? Okay, what what's your top? Rappers?
My side? Rappers? You know my side rappers, bust the rhymes,
Little Wayne, Eminem say my top three right there all day.
But you don't even listen to Eminem like that. I
do listen to Eminem like that. I don't listen to

(16:58):
Eminem around you because there are certain lyrics and certain
songs that you can't listen to. So I can't listen
to Eminem around you, like I promise you, I can't.
But yeah, real fast, does who are your top three rappers?
A Little Baby, Polo G, and Little t J. Okay,
I like Little Baby, that's cool. I like I like

(17:20):
Polo G. Two, I don't know a Little t G?
What a Little t J? Saying? What's the Little t J? Song?
You don't know my man songs? How are your top
rap band? You here probably listening to this ship right now? No, bro,
what is it? It's it's pop Out. I was ready
to saying pop out at your party. I like that.

(17:44):
I like that that's cool, and your dad is listening
to this. But I have to ask you this for
the record, who do you have the most fun with
me or your dad? I don't know. That's a tough one.
That is not no damn tough. When you don't hurt
your faul of feelings. You always have the best fun
with me, right, yo? Blushing over that, like I don't

(18:06):
want to say, yo, know all right? Who buys you
the most stuff? Okay? Who lets you eat whatever you want? Dad? Okay?
If you want something, which parent do you most likely ask? First? You? Me? Okay? Um,

(18:32):
who do you most likely get in trouble with? First? Dad? Okay?
If you were in any type of trouble, who are
you most likely to call? Me? Or your dad? Dim
you ain't ready called me? Bro No, damn your grandmother.
You're gonna be on in town? Oh oh baby, don't

(18:56):
say it like dad, dimem you said? But you know
I'm only a flight away, and I will literally fly
a show. I'll fly when I'm done. Dang, I don't
want performance for like an hour though. Yeah, I know, headline,

(19:17):
I know, but it's okay. My my um comedy tour
is coming to an end. I'm gonna take a break
from that because I got a lot of TV coming
up and I'm not gonna be able to keep turning
down TV for shows and you know, and so you
just uh, you just go. I'm gonna take a year

(19:39):
and a half or two and work on TV and
then I'll go back on tour. This will give me
a lot more time with you, though people who won't
be mad. People can be mad at what that You're
not on tour no more, and it's gonna be other things. Um,
they can watch me on and it's gonna be another
tour that I'm doing. I'm taking this podcast on the

(20:00):
tour um with London, your dad, my best friend, Sheina Prince,
like we're taking it. It's gonna be the carefully reckless bunch,
like we're gonna take that on tour. But I'm I'm
giving stand up a break. No, on some weekends I
can go with you. Absolutely, you can go with me. Yeah,

(20:21):
you can go with me on the weekends for sure. Um,
whenever you don't have school, you know, you travel with
me when you don't have school. How is that coming
to the shows? Yeah? Sometimes I get to come out
on the stage at the end of your performance. So
you really like that? That's really dope. I'm glad that
you do like that. And my fans do love you too,

(20:43):
you mean our fans, our fans. Yes, one last question
before we get out of here. You think I do
a good job as a mom. Honestly, Yes, tell me
what's your what's your favorite part about me being your mom? Oh?
No matter what you're doing, you try and make time

(21:03):
to spend time with me. I love that. I love that.
I want you to always feel like that and to
always remember that, because when I'm celebrities have children, um
a lot of times they're not able to spend any
time with them, depending on how hard they're grind is
you know what I mean. And i know I'm gone
a lot, but I'm telling you it is for us, baby,

(21:26):
like it literally is so i won't have to be
gone so much later. That's why I'm gone so much now,
you know. And I'm building like an empire. I'm doing
everything for us, you know what I'm saying. I'm putting
businesses in place so you can take them over when

(21:48):
I'm gone and and all of that ship. You know
what I mean. So I want you to recognize that
and just know that I'm always trying and I'm always
trying to find ways to be a better mom for
were you. You know, even though I'm a business woman
and all of that, I am a mom first. Okay.
I love you? Are you gonna see bottom are people.

(22:10):
And just like that, we are at the end of
the Carefully Reckless episode with Ashton James and we will
be back next week. Well, he ain't coming back next week.
I don't I don't know. This little stinking little Ravens
fan ain't coming back next week. This little yeah, but
they love me. That's why they listened each and every Wednesday.
Tune in next Wednesday and my deepest pam Boys pig.
