Speaker 1 (00:04):
My name is Kristin Nobles, and I am the host
of a new podcast called Close to the Chest with
Kristen and Christine. I have been chronically ill for over
twenty years and found out the cause was my breast
implants Christmas. I remember lying in a hospital bed and
I see you, wishing I would die. My headache was
(00:24):
so intense I could feel my heart beating in my brain.
I remember feeling helpless and like giving up after years
of being sick. I had so much shame, feeling like
I was failing at everything, including being a mom. I
was also depressed and sporting some intense anger at the
lack of empathy and support. After years of misdiagnosis, doctors
(00:46):
began accusing me of faking my illness to get drugs.
I was an I see you and a doctor told
me she believed that my breast implants were causing an
autoimmune disease that was attacking my body. That is when
I learned about breast implant illness. I sat there and shocked, inspiraled,
feeling so many emotions, initially relief at finally knowing what
(01:10):
this is, then fear and settling into shame. Had I
made myself sick choosing to get these implants. No, this
disease is not my fault and I am not going
to let it kill me. I am not going to
allow b I I to define who I am. I
(01:32):
started this podcast after meeting other brave women, and I
learned I was not alone and decided to turn my
crisis into an opportunity for all of us to find
out the facts on how to overcome and beat this
horrible disease. Together with my friend and co host Christine Torres,
filmmaker and former lawyer, we are going to uncover the
real facts on fake boobs. Our mission is to find
(01:53):
out and pass on life saving information from talking with doctors.
I think it's important for women to know that if
they have BII, there's support out there, that they're going
to be heard, that they're going to be treated, that
there's options advocates. After doing my own research, I said
Dr Lee, is it possible it's my breast implants? Something's wrong?
(02:13):
And he says, yeah, it is possible. Brave survivors, you're
diagnosed with b I. I think we lose control right
you're you feel it right now. What we should have
control over is what people are feeding us right the information.
It should be logical, it should be factual, and it
should be true and those like me trying to find
the right solution to this unbearable problem breast implant illness.
(02:36):
Our mission in creating the podcast is to get close
to the Chest and find out the facts. Key to
helping other women, say valuable time and money, is they
try and navigate this horrible disease together. I know we
are not alone and can save lives. Listen to Close
to the Chest on October six on the I Heart
Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
