Speaker 1 (00:00):
Crime Alart hourly update, breaking crime news Now. I'm Jennifer Gould.
A Delaware mom's sickening lie ignited a desperate nationwide Amber
alert for her missing three year old daughter, only for
police to then drop a bombshell. The very mom who
spun a tale of gunpoint abduction is now accused of

(00:22):
brutally murdering her own toddler. This shocking betrayal also implicates
her boyfriend in a grim cover up. Here's Elena Russo,
a spokesperson for the Maryland State Police Department, at the
news conference. This is a tragic incident and for everybody
involved the Marylyn staplie. All the investigators are working tirelessly

(00:47):
to resolve what happened here and why it happened. So
our hearts go out to the community and to all
those of all. Darien Randall, thirty one, was arrested in
Maryland and charged with first and second degree murder, plus
first degree child abuse resulting in the death of a
minor under thirteen, and other related criminal charges. Her boyfriend,

(01:10):
Cedric Britten, forty four, of Northeast Maryland, was also nabbed,
facing charges as an accessory to first and second degree
murder after the fact and failure to report child death
betwisted two day saga began when Randall called Newcastle County
Police in Newark, Delaware. She spun a harrowing tale, claiming

(01:31):
she had pulled over to comfort her three year old daughter,
Nola Dinkins, when a terrifying encounter unfolded. Randal alleged a
white man armed with a handgun approached and snatched the child,
then fled in an older model black or dark colored
suv driven by a blonde, white woman believed to be
an accomplice. Officials immediately issued and Amber alert for Nola,

(01:55):
triggering a massive overnight manhunt across multiple states, but investigators
quickly found Randall's elaborate story just didn't add up. Inconsistencies
in her account ultimately determined her initial report was a lie.
This prompted the cancelation of the Amber alert, and the

(02:16):
case was grimly reclassified as a homicide investigation. Police then
honed in on Randall's last known address in northeast Maryland,
where they made contact with Britain. Further investigation and questioning
led them to a vacant lot nearby. There. Maryland State
Police Homicide unit investigators made a horrifying discovery human remains

(02:42):
consistent with that of a young child. While official positive
identification awaits autopsy results from the Office of the Chief
Medical Examiner in Baltimore, authorities believe the remains are those
of little Nola Dinkins. The cause and manner of death
are also pending. In a shocking admission to police, Randall

(03:02):
allegedly confessed to fabricating the entire abduction story to quote
divert attention from her boyfriend end quote. She also reportedly
admitted to beating her daughter to death with a belt
fifteen to twenty times, and then stuffing her daughter's body
in a blue suitcase and leaving it at the park.

(03:23):
Randall now faces a long list of charges, including filing
a false police report. In Delaware. She is being held
on a one million dollar bond awaiting extradition to Maryland, Britain.
Is currently in police custody in Maryland for crime and
justice news after this, a grandmother in Oklahoma stands accused

(03:46):
of turning her grandchildren's home into a living hell, allegedly
drugging the vulnerable kids and locking them in a dog
cage like animals. Divina Marx fifty three, was busted in
war Acres after after a year long investigation unearthed her
alleged reign of terror. These neighbors, who did not want
to be identified, said they weren't surprised and spoke to

(04:09):
News nine lots of cursing, lots of screaming, and degrading them.
Court records paint a grim picture. Marx, who gained custody
of her eight and ten year old grandchildren after their
father died in a twenty twenty two road rage incident,
allegedly subjected them to unspeakable cruelty. The horrifying truth began

(04:30):
to unravel in March of twenty twenty four, when a
social worker and police arrived at Marx's home on a
child abuse tip. The eight year old granddaughter bravely texted
the social worker during the visit, calling Mark's quote abusive
and mean. End quote outside, the child dropped a bombshell.
Marx allegedly gave them powerful antipsychotic drugs and locked them

(04:55):
in a dog cage whenever she left the house. The
ten year old boy k operated the gut wrenching story,
confirming he was given sarah Quell, a sleep inducing drug
prescribed to Marx herself. A blood test later confirmed that
drug in his system. At a children's safe clinic, the
siblings detailed even more torment, forced exhausting exercise, and brutal

(05:20):
physical punishment. A doctor found bruising on the granddaughter's neck
and back consistent with being struck by a belt. The
children were swiftly removed from Marx's care and are now
under child welfare supervision. Marx now faces one count each
of child abuse and neglect. She remains locked up at
the Oklahoma County Detention Center. And finally, hold your horses,

(05:43):
or should we say hold your raccoons? A Kentucky man
just unleashed pure pandemonium in a bar after getting tossed,
turning happy hour into a furry nightmare. Police A Jonathan Mason, forty,
famously known as Cowboy Cody in the area, was booted
from the Big Apple Grill. Oh his response, he literally
let loose a live raccoon he'd caught earlier in the

(06:04):
day into the joint. The trash panda then bit an
employee who needed rabies shots for the rabid revenge. Mason
then tried to make a clean getaway, but was eventually
snagged by cops. This is not his first rodeo either.
He previously led police on a Muly wild drunken chase, yeah,
using a mule. He's now facing assault and trespassing charges

(06:27):
for this insane revenge plot. Talk about a weird tale
