A boy's body is found stuffed in a garbage bag
in the attic of a home in Columbus, Ohio, and
now a woman has pleaded guilty to the boy's murder.
John Alowe admitted to killing eight year old Martonio Wilder,
the child found wrapped in a laundry bag placed in
a garbage bag in the attic of his home on

Olmsted Avenue. Prosecutors said his life was filled with cruelty.

Multiple witnesses and some family members told detectives that miss
Wilder treated Martonio Wilder different than her other sons. They
spoke about unusual punishments for Martinio, including holding a weighted
ball and walking up and down the steps while naked,
and restricting food. The witnesses also stated in Martonio was
always hungry and stole food from other homes he was at,
including at his.

chance of parole after fifteen years. She didn't say much
in court. Her girlfriend at the time was Martonio's mother,
Lashonda Wilder. She is also charged in the case and

hours before Martonio's body was found, his mother had reported

and two other children then left the house. Officers brought

She told police that she and Wilder had planned to
blame one of Martonio's siblings for his death. She also
admitted to beating him two days before he died, and
autopsy showed Martonio was dehydrated, malnourished, and covered in bruises
and cuts. He weighed just thirty five pounds, sunk in

eyes and stomach. His ribs, collarbone, pelvis, and knee caps
were visible through his skin. The cause of death was
deep neck compression with of asphyxia and blunt force trauma.
Lowe is now serving her sentence, while Wilder remains in
