Crime Alart hourly update, breaking crime news.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Now I'm Drew Nelson. A Native American teen's desperate please
are revealed on police bodycam footage as the search for
her killer remains unsolved. Nearly four months after her dismembered
body was found near Globe, Arizona. Newly released videos show
thirteen year old Emily Pike begging Mesa officers not to
return her to a group home in twenty twenty three,
more than a year before her death.

Speaker 3 (00:23):
No, I don't want to go vote.

Speaker 4 (00:26):
I know, let's talk, Okay.

Speaker 5 (00:27):
No, it's okay. Hey, it's okay. You're not in sure, okay.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
Pike was a member of the San Carlos Apache tribe.
Her dismembered body was discovered on February fourteenth, stuffed in
garbage bags off us, sixty weeks after she vanished from
the Sacred Journey group home in Mesa. Her hands and
arms are still missing. There have been no arrests. What
kind of evil person would hurt a kid like that?

(00:54):
And that's something that I try not.

Speaker 4 (00:55):
To think about.

Speaker 2 (00:56):
Family members speaking out on KNXV.

Speaker 5 (00:59):
It's hard to be patient, but if we get mad, frustrated,
lash out, what's that going to accomplish. We've just got
to stay in prayer.

Speaker 2 (01:08):
Investigators recently served search warrants on a house, a vehicle,
and a storage trailer. Items were sent to a lab.
A person of interest was interviewed but cleared. Police say
the case remains open and all leads are being pursued.
The FBI and the San Carlos Apache Tribe are each
offering seventy five thousand dollars for information. The tribe is
also reviewing how Emily's twenty twenty three sexual assault report

(01:31):
was handled. She was placed in a group home by
tribal Social Services after she accused a family member of
assaulting her on the reservation. The suspect was released and
never charged. Emily had tried to run from Sacred Journey
three times in twenty twenty three, and once more January
twenty seventh, the day she was last seen alive. Surveillance
footage showed her kicking out a windowscreen. In a legislative

(01:52):
hearing this month, her mother, Steph Doorsla, said she only
learned Emily was dead when she saw graphic photos of
her remains online. Emily's family, tribal leaders, lawmakers, and the
Department of child safety all spoke at the hearing. Many
cried as they described the system that failed her. When
Emily reported her assault in twenty twenty three, tribal game

(02:12):
and Fish officers responded not police. The case was dropped
due to a lack of evidence, but federal prosecutors said
they never received a case file. Emily's behavior changed at
for that she became withdrawn, tried to take her own
life multiple times. In one suicide attempt, she was found
in a closet with a shoe string around her neck.
She spent more than a year in a secure mental

(02:33):
health center before being sent back to the group home.
At the hearing in May, officials revealed that Sacred Journey
did not receive Emily's background records before taking her in.
Because Emily was in the custody of the tribe not
in the custody of the state, Arizona's missing Child Alert
law did not apply. The law requires quick notice to
family schools and tribes, but those rules were ignored. The

(02:55):
San Carlos Apache Tribe now plans to open a larger
group home on the reservation with better mental health care.
Tribal police and the FBI are still investigating the murder.
A new state alert system named Emily's Law was signed
into law by Governor Katie Hobbs to issue notices when
Native Americans go missing. Tribal council members say that's Emily's legacy.

Speaker 5 (03:16):
The color of our skin now determines demands, the help
that we're going to receive based on losing this beautiful
young girl of our tribe.

Speaker 1 (03:29):
I'm Jennifer Goold. A Florida middle school classroom has become
the epicenter of a disturbing criminal investigation after a teacher
was arrested for allegedly bombarding a fourteen year old student
with explicit Snapchat messages including quote I want to taste
you end quote, texts and a nude photo. Olivia Fell,

(03:51):
twenty eight, as special ed teacher at Hail Middle School,
was arrested on charges of lewd conduct with a fourteen
year old student, a sex degree felony, and transmitting harmful
material to a minor, a third degree felony. The Manatee
County Sheriff's Office brought the charges after a damning investigation

(04:11):
exposing a sickening abuse of authority. The victim's mom is
also blasting the school's initial handling of the case, claiming
her son was suspended for reporting the allegations, while Fell
remained in the classroom until mid May before being reassigned.
That mom, Beverly Hernandez, spoke to ABC seven Son Coast News.

Speaker 4 (04:35):
I'm more disappointed that they inflicted even more trauma by
calling him a liar, by him thinking that he was
doing the right thing and speaking of and they almost
like retaliated against him.

Speaker 1 (04:50):
The nightmare began to unravel when Beverly reported suspicious communications
between her son and Fell. Detectives interviewed the teen, who
revealed he had obtained Fell's Snapchat handle during school hours.
Their private chats, which began over Christmas break quickly, though,
took a predatory turn. The boy told authorities that when

(05:12):
he innocently asked if she'd bring snack chips for the class,
she allegedly responded, quote what are you going to do
for them? End quote, accompanied by a winking emoji. The
creepiest exchange, Fell allegedly wrote that quote unquote I want
to taste you, also with a winking emoji. The teen

(05:33):
further claimed Fell sent him two nude pictures, including one
showing a topless female and then explicitly told him not
to tell anyone. When initially confronted, Fell reportedly admitted to
sending some photos, like one in a bathing suit, claiming
they were public, but she flat out denied sending the
nude pics, But investigators they didn't quit. They secured search warrants,

(05:57):
eventually confirming her Snapchat account matched her details. The account,
though ominously vanished from the victim's friends list the very
day the investigation began. The final damning piece of evidence, though,
came from a search warrant executed at Fell's house. Detectives
confirmed her phone was used to create the Snapchat account.

(06:20):
Even more damning, they allegedly found the exact green plush pillow,
stuffed animal, and betting scene in the nude photo, directly
linking Fell to the explicit material, and arrest warrant was
issued and Fell turned herself in. She remains in custody
at the Manatee County Jail. The Manatee County Sheriff's Office

(06:41):
continues to investigate if other students were also targeted.

Speaker 3 (06:45):
Im Nicole Parton, a couple from MISSOURIUS facing serious allegations
after authorities reported that their children were forced to live
in a trailer infested with hundreds of black flies and cockroaches,
amid piles of decaying food and human waste. The appalling
conditions were so distressing that at least one child resorted
to sleeping on the entertainment center to escape the filth.

(07:09):
As stated by police, but probable cause Affidavid reveals that
Matteo Luna twenty seven and his partner, Stephanie Paisley, twenty six,
are each charged with four counts of child abuse and neglect.
They are parents to four children ages eight months to
nine years old. Butler County Sheriff's Department investigator Eddie Holloway
expressed his emotional response in the situation. Authorities conducted a

(07:33):
welfare check on the couple's trailer in Neelyville after receiving
reports of unsanitary living conditions. Holloway, one of the first responders,
described the scene in the Affidavid. The living room was
completely overwhelmed with garbage, decaying food, debris, and soiled clothes.
The stench of rottening food and human waste filled the air.
The kitchen, sink and counters were piled high with dirty

(07:55):
dishes and more rotting food, he said, to make matters worse,
the temperature and in side the trailer was recorded at
eighty eight degrees and there was reportedly no running water. Additionally,
it was noted that the lock on the children's door
appeared to have been tampered with to alter its function.
Paisley allegedly informed the police that her children frequently attempted

(08:16):
to quote escape from the residents at night, and due
to the proximity of their home to the railroad track,
she felt compelled to keep them inside while they were
supposed to be sleeping. According to the affidavit, when asked
by k f VS about the duration of the children's
exposure to the condition, Holloway estimated from what the little
girl told us, it seems this has been going on

(08:38):
for about two years. I can't fathom how anyone could
live like this and subject their children to this environment.
It is truly heartbreaking. The parents have been taken into
custody and the children are in the care of the
Department of Children and Family Services. For the latest crime
