Speaker 2 (00:04):
For the latest Nancy. Nearly three decades after the civil
judgment against O. J. Simpson, his estate is finally taking
steps to pay Fred Goldman, father of Ron Goldman, who
was killed alongside Nicole Brown Simpson in nineteen ninety four.
According to TMZ, Malcolm Laverne, the executor of Simpson's estate,

(00:26):
has accepted Goldman's creditor claim for nearly fifty eight million dollars.
That figure includes the original thirty three point five million
dollar judgment from nineteen ninety seven, plus thirty years of interest.
Simpson was acquitted of murder in what became known as
the Trial of the Century, but later found liable in

(00:47):
civil court. Most of that judgment went unpaid during Simpson's lifetime.
He died in April twenty twenty four at the age
of seventy six. Laverne says the estate will pay what
is can by auctioning Simpson's possessions. Though some items have
been stolen. He's working with attorneys to recover those and
plans to ask the court to approve an administrative fee

(01:10):
for Goldman, who's helped manage a state affairs. Other creditor claims,
most have been rejected. The estate will prioritize Goldman and
the Irs, which is owed federal taxes. A separate claim
from California over six hundred thousand dollars will require legal
action if the state wants to collect. This marks a

(01:32):
major reversal for Laverne, who initially vowed not to pay
the Goldman family. Now, he says the estate will settle
the judgment as much as possible. Fred Goldman had long
said pursuing Simpson in civil court was the only way
to seek justice for his son Nicole.

Speaker 1 (01:49):
Thank you more private justice.

Speaker 2 (01:52):

twenty nine year old man sustained a gunshot wound to
the abdomen and was transported to Bellevue Hospital, where he
is currently in critical but stable condition. No arrest have
been made in the investigation is still ongoing. While the

(02:34):
police have not officially identified the victim, multiple sources have
confirmed that it is Boyd. A spokesperson for the Jets
acknowledged the situation involving Boyd, saying we are aware of
the situation involving Chris Boyd and we have no further
comment at this time. Boyd's agent has not yet responded
to requests for information regarding the incident. This season marks

(02:58):
Boyd's first with the Jets, but he has not played
due to a shoulder injury. Boyd has established himself as
a standout on special teams throughout his six NFL seasons,
most recently with the Houston Texans. He gained attention during
the Texans playoff loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in
January when he celebrated a forced fumble by dramatically removing

(03:19):
his helmet and nearly colliding with his special team's coats.
Originally drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the seventh round
in twenty nineteen, Boyd spent his first four seasons with
that team. He signed with the Arizona Cardinals in twenty
twenty three, before later joining Houston's practice squad. On Sunday afternoon,
Boyd's teammates took to social media to express their support

(03:41):
and ask for prayers. Linebacker Jermaine Johnson said, everybody please
send prayers to my brother and teammate Chris and his family. Lord,
please hold your healing hand over Chris and guide him
back to health and safety.

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
