DC breaks down why Chandler is the only opponent for McGregor. Plus, hear why Cormier thinks, despite their bad blood, Jones absolutely deserves a chance to fight in June of next year on the White House card. So I'm at the Elite Duels in Atlanta, Georgia, but
a fake news. Yesterday we saw the first renderings of

(01:55):
what the UFC is gonna looked like at the White House,
and it looked insane. The fact that we're actually doing
in the UFC at the White House is the craziest
thing of all time. And honestly, like we talked about before,
only President Trump and Dana White could make something like
this happened, because otherwise it would be just a ridiculous thought.

Speaker 2 (02:13):
But honestly, ridiculous thoughts work.

Speaker 1 (02:16):
But not only are we going to the White House,
we also have an idea of who may be fighting
at the White House. So today's episode is brought to
you by Total Wireless, the official Wireless provider of UFC
in your corner with a limited five G data that
will not slow you down. So we're going to the
White House in July, fourth of July Independence Day.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
You know, for a long time we.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
Spoke about no Cha UFC and how it was a
great ode to this Hispanic culture, the Mexican culture. It's
been and become one of the greatest events in the
UFC's year of the calendar. I always question, why don't
we tip our hat to the United States of America.

(02:58):
That feels like what we're going to do when we
get to the White House next July. But then I
hear Connor McGregor is going to fight against Michael Chandler
as one of the fights I have spoken about Michael
Chandler versus Conor McGregor for so long because it's supposed
to happen two years ago.

Speaker 2 (03:16):
Connor McGregor has been kind of pulling.

Speaker 1 (03:17):
Our chain, leading us along as if he's going to
come back, when it doesn't feel like he has any
intention on truly coming back and fighting in the UFC.
But if he does, Michael Chandler would be the opponent.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
I was speaking to.

Speaker 1 (03:31):
Sean Shelby the other day at notescha UFC and one
of the younger guys had called out Michael Chandler, and
I said to Shawn, I go, I don't think Chandler
would do it.

Speaker 2 (03:41):
He goes, No, he goes. Chandler wants only big things.
I believe that.

Speaker 1 (03:45):
That would qualify as the type of big thing that
Michael Chandler would want to be a part of. Not
only the fact that he's probably one of the most
patriotic human beings I've ever met my entire life, but
to finally get to fight mcga, to get to do
it at the White House, to be a part of
something historic. You know that Chandler would be all in

(04:07):
on that. When it comes to the matchup. You guys
know what I feel. I feel like if there is
a matchup for Connor McGregor to come back to, it
is this one. Because Chandler will be more than willing
to stand in the pocket and fight McGregor. And obviously
we know when people do that, we know what happens.
Connor McGregor has been very, very successful against guys that

(04:34):
don't use wrestling or the wrestling threat as a real
problem for him.

Speaker 2 (04:39):
If you stand in trade, he can be very dangerous.

Speaker 1 (04:42):
Obviously, he still has a lot of work to do
in terms of his recovery, and what does that injury
do for you mentally?

Speaker 2 (04:47):
I remember talking to Chris Weidman.

Speaker 1 (04:49):
Wiman told me that every intention he had before going
into that fight his return fight, was to throw a
leg kick right away. But he said the moment he
got in there, he was like scared to do it,
and he never threw that kick. Then ultimately he ended
up getting kicked, and then Brad Tavares ended up beating
down his other leg to the point.

Speaker 2 (05:09):
That he could barely stand.

Speaker 1 (05:11):
So what toll does the injury take on McGregor when
he returns, and how much will Chandler be willing to
use leg kicks as a game plan to try and
give McGregor real problems. I heard the Wayans are gonna
be at the Lincoln Memorial or something like that. That's crazy.

(05:34):
It's crazy, And I get to be there. That's the
best part about it. Like, I'm so lucky to have
the job that I have that when they go to
the White House to fight, I'm gonna be there.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
It's a year away before this event.

Speaker 1 (05:49):
And we're already talking about what potentially could happen as
a fight.

Speaker 2 (05:52):
You know what's the most telling thing.

Speaker 1 (05:54):
To me though, is like Connor McGregor has not fought
since twenty twenty two when he broke his leg, or
twenty one or something.

Speaker 2 (06:03):
John Jones.

Speaker 1 (06:04):
John Jones stated publicly he wants to fight at the
White House.

Speaker 2 (06:10):
He tells anyone that listen.

Speaker 1 (06:12):
Even last week he was at the Grammys or some
shit like that, and he was on the red carpet
speaking about how he's back testing and he's ready to
fight at the White House. But Dana seems more stern
in not letting him today than I have ever seen
him in regards to John Jones, I remember when he
canceled that fight against Jail, Dana said he'll never headline again. Well,

(06:33):
he headlined against me twice. We're supposed to be headlining
events five times. He headlined against Gustus and gustuson Cyril
Gun and so many other people. This time, he seems
like he is not going to back down and allow
for him to be on his White House card.

Speaker 2 (06:51):
And if I'm being completely honest.

Speaker 1 (06:53):
I don't know that I agree. I think I would
let him fight. I think if he wants to fight.
I would let him fight because for as much as
mixed martial arts is a global sport and it's a
sport that everybody loves and we support people from all
around the world, at the end of the day, when
we're fighting at the White House, you want American people

(07:17):
that can win at the end of the night. No
cha UFC last week in San Antonio had eight six
Mexican born fighters.

Speaker 2 (07:26):
They won all six fights.

Speaker 1 (07:27):
They had three American fighters of Mexican descent and they
all won. It felt good for the people leaving the
arena that night because the people that they went to
support had all found success.

Speaker 2 (07:42):
Imagine if we're on the White House.

Speaker 1 (07:44):
Lawn and the Americans aren't winning fights, and that could
happen because when the opening line for McGregor versus Chandler
comes out, Chandler is going to be a pretty.

Speaker 2 (07:54):
Substantial underdog, as he should be.

Speaker 1 (07:57):
Even though Connor hasn't fought in forever, he will still
be the favorite to beat Michael Chandler.

Speaker 2 (08:05):
But if you put John.

Speaker 1 (08:06):
Jones against Tom aspinall for what everybody says that Tom
Aspinall's the guys to beat him when that line opens,
I bet John Jones is still gonna be the favorite.

Speaker 2 (08:16):
He'll still be favorite to beat Tom aspinall.

Speaker 1 (08:19):
He'll be the guy that's the world champion, or at
least was the world champion before he vacated his title
and retired, so he'll still be favorite to win that fight.
I believe that you gotta let him fight, man. I
think that you you put some things in his contract
that makes it very costly to not follow through. You understand,

(08:44):
So if you put John Jones on the White House card,
say something happens in the law and he has to
be pulled off the card.

Speaker 2 (08:55):
A million dollars.

Speaker 1 (08:57):
Say he just says he doesn't want to fight, A
million dollars say he doesn't, say he gets injured, then
it should be less as long as the injury can
be proven. If the injury is proven, charge him nothing.
He's just a normal fighter that got hurt in training camp.
But you put these these safeguards in place to make
sure that he shows up there, because one you pick

(09:19):
a card with him and Con McGregor, massive, massive eyes
will be on that card, and two you put American
guy in there in the main event that has a
real chance to win the fight and send everyone home
feeling very good. It's why the good guys win at
the end of the movies, because they want people to

(09:41):
feel good leaving the theater. Except for A Million Dollar Baby,
which was a bullshit movie because that woman died or
something at the end of the movie, and I hated
the way.

Speaker 2 (09:51):
I felt when I left. Nobody goes to the movies
for that shit. Man. We go to the movies to
see stuff and feel good when.

Speaker 1 (09:57):
We leave, And I think that the White House card
deserves a chance for that to happen because think about, Hey,
we have no American guys in the top ten pound
for pound right now, says John Jones retired.

Speaker 2 (10:09):
That's crazy.

Speaker 1 (10:11):
Come on, come on, boss, it's me asking you to
give John Jones a chance.

Speaker 2 (10:17):
That's crazy. So all right, but the renderings are sick.

Speaker 1 (10:22):
White House is gonna be nuts and the boy's gonna
be there, So let's go until next time. Guys like subscribe,
tell your friend to tell their friends that DC's got
a YouTube channel.

Speaker 2 (10:31):
I'm doing shit like this from wrestling tournaments. Look, I
never stopped. I'm the hardest work command in the business.
