Speaker 1 (00:09):
From grandmothers who whispered in their baby girl ill, to
fathers on dimly lit street commers instructing young soldiers to
always keep their eyes open. You be queen, you will fire,
you will pass through centuries. On the hands of your daughters,
they called you wisdom. Proverbs on the backs of diamond
eyed school children who grew into hymnals recited by amethysts
(00:33):
holding urban philosophers who recited neighborhood commandments out of the
windows of restored alchimedo chariots to keep the warmth, and
they blood, be wise, be smart, being black, Opal Brown courts,
bloodstone and prayer. Be every form of jim see King told, scribe, scribe,
(00:54):
told son, son, told wife, wife told her daughter, and
daughter told the ants, and the ancestors told me that
you would come to give wisdom. Thousands They said you
would come Dropping Dropping Gem. Hey, Stebbie Brown, Welcome back
to the Dropping Gems podcast. Your soft placed to lend
(01:17):
on your journey and higher consciousness as you heal, grow, transform,
and ultimately a lot more creativity in your life higher purpose.
This is officially the last episode of season two of
Dropping Gems and Wow. This season has been so special
for me the last couple of years doing Dropping Gems.
(01:40):
We have been in this moment in time that we
all are very well aware of now, global pandemic, all
the things we've been in the house, we've been, you know,
doing a lot of our life on Zoom, and it's
been really interesting for me doing this show in that
way the last couple of years and being able to
connect with people from all over the world, but doing
(02:03):
it behind a screen and doing it from a house,
and you know, it's been it's felt so intimate, it's
felt so beautiful. There's also been some challenges to it.
You know, I think a lot of us, depending on
where you are, have missed some of that in person
connection and the beautiful natural energy that evolves between people
(02:24):
when they're together in the same room. So this is
kind of leading me into an announcement that I'll be
sharing in a few moments. But this season we have
had the chance to really expand in conversations that have
personally felt so nourishing, so beautiful, and I want to
(02:44):
root this final episode of season two and just really
sharing my gratitude with everyone that has been listening to
this show. This has been a really special experience, and
you know, I have to say, I don't really consumer
digest other podcasts, so I think I'm right, But I
don't know, you guys tell me. But I feel that
(03:07):
we really have something intimate and special in this show,
and a lot of my feeling around that has been
based on some of the absolutely incredible experiences that I've
had out in the world meeting different listeners of this show.
Our reach is really far, reaches really wide, our reaches
(03:29):
really deep. Whether I am in a grocery store and
I run into someone, or I'm at a corporate event
and I run into someone in the audience. There there
are so many of us that are on this beautiful
journey of becoming more of releasing, of healing, and of
(03:49):
really fine tuning and stepping into our individual purpose. So
it's been incredibly humbling, it's been incredibly beautiful. It's been
incredibly invigorating every time I get the chance to connect
with those that connect with this show out in the world.
(04:11):
I've also come to this understanding from some of the
absolutely powerful messages that I received from so many that
listen to this show on my social media, through email,
and even through the really incredibly written reviews that so
many of you have gone out of your way to
(04:33):
share to express within the Apple Podcasts ratings. So I
am grateful. I'm grateful. I am grateful. I'm grateful to
show up in this way and to connect with this
particular audience. Something a lot of you may know about me.
I've shared it a few times on my show and
(04:53):
my social media and for those that connected with my work.
Prior to maybe twenty sixteen, my first container for using
my voice and for expressing was when I worked within
the entertainment industry and I was a journalist and I
was a broadcaster, and I did that for over a decade,
(05:15):
and many of you know. Part of my story was
I got burned out that the conversations I really wanted
to have with people the rest of the world did
not yet seem fully open to all of those conversations,
and certainly in the environments that I worked, it was
not really celebrated the kind of questions I wanted to
ask or the conversations I wanted to have. And so
(05:39):
I decided to do something entirely different and to trust myself,
to trust my calling, and to listen to the whispers
of God. And create new ways that I was intended
to share myself and share my thoughts, and so a
lot of that led to much of the work that
I do now through my company Debbie Brown Wellbeing, the
(06:00):
work that I did for many years with Chopra, and
this podcast dropping Gems with Iheartened Black Effect Network. So
as we're coming to the close of season two, and
you know, I want to shout out some of the
awesome guests I've had this season, doctor Shafali, who I love,
such a big fan of her work. We've had so
(06:24):
many power conversations. Samantha Timmins, producer of this show. What
are some of the other names of the amazing guests
that we've had this season. I'm in studio right now,
and Samantha who works on my team Debbie Brown Well
Being and is also producing season three of this podcast.
(06:49):
We were having so many conversations I think I noticed
we were having around especially the dynamic of reparenting and
inner child healing, and that was so serving and that
seemed to really hit accord with a lot of you
listening as some of the things that you were looking
to expand in as well, and wels have we had
(07:09):
this year, Stephen Washington or Steven Washington, Molica Chopra my
soul sister. We had doctor Joy Bradford, doctor Jennifer Friedman,
Young Pueblo, Lee Harris, doctor Holly Richmond. That's just the
name a few Adam Jackson sacred sons. So our conversations
(07:32):
were really ranging this last season from everything. I mean,
we talked about astrology, we talked about intimacy, we talked
about men's sacred healing, men's mental health, and a lot
of some of the more somatic work that is so
expansive for men in this space. We taught. We had
(07:53):
conversations around purpose, we had conversation around self care, around practices,
around meditation, and you know, the feedback that I've gotten
from these episodes has just been beautiful fuel we introduced
this last season. We introduce soul work into the equation.
(08:15):
You know, some of those Easter eggs that you can
really weave into your life after this episode, and ways
to kind of work your process in real time as
you move through some of the themes and the episodes
that we talk about. So I'm just grateful, and I
want you to know I had such an incredible time
(08:36):
creating these conversations and sharing in them and sharing my
work with you, so that leads me to this next
part of the conversation, that leads me to the announcement
that I've been teasing for the last few weeks. And
let me just give us a little let me let
me drop some bombs that like really plays into like
(08:58):
my old radio days. I have an announcement to make.
The show is changing, this show dropping gems. As we
move into season three of my podcast, we are going
through our own internal and external transformation. When I first
(09:19):
thought about how I was going to kind of release
this information, some of the amazing people on the iHeart
team you shared with me like, you really need a
position this because you may not be aware of how
much the show in the current form it's in means
to people, and it might actually be a little jarring
to just start season three and not kind of speak
(09:43):
to the journey of the changes that you want to make.
I was really deeply appreciative of that insight and that
reframing because this show was such a massive part of
my life in one of the most challenging periods of
time for all of our lives, a pandemic and I
know that so many of us were really inside of
(10:07):
our own homes and very often by ourselves, connecting through
the vibrational power of this shared experience, even if we
were listening at different times. I know that is certainly
true for me. So I want to share with you
that the show is changing. The name of the show
(10:27):
is changing. The framework of the show will be the same.
The framework of the show will still be rooted in
this being a soft place to land and having really expansive,
sometimes very granular, deeply detailed conversations about the mechanics of
healing and growth and transformation and wellness and mental health.
(10:51):
All of that is staying. What is changing is the
name of the show and where the show is being recorded. So,
kicking off with season three, the podcast that was known
as Dropping Gems will now be known as Deeply Well
with Debbie Brown, the Deeply Well Podcast with Debbie Brown.
(11:17):
Deeply Well is a name that I came to because
I found that over the last few years that has
been my natural response when people ask me how I'm doing,
and I really kind of go inside and do a
gut check, especially when people in my innermost personal life
will ask me how I am you know that question,
(11:39):
a lot of us moved through so quickly just oh,
I'm good, I'm fine. We don't know, how are you doing?
You know, we returned the question almost before we even
finished giving a response to the question. And then I
noticed that none of us were actually sitting into the
answer that either was giving. And so when people in
my life asked me as how I'm doing, I try
(12:01):
to take a few moments and seconds to do a
gut check. Doesn't mean that i'm necessarily you know. It's
the time, the place, or the person that i'd be
sharing my innermost thoughts with. But I do really look
to settle into my spirit and come up with something
that is more than just saying I'm fine, I'm okay,
or I'm good or I'm bad right, not just the
(12:22):
general terms that I found that over the last few years,
whenever I did that, the answer that would come up
for me is that I felt deeply well. Which is
not to say that life is always without its trials
or its challenges or discomforts, but there is a deeper
(12:44):
feeling that I feel in my body and in my
soul and in my heart that really supersedes any of
the day's current reflections, current processes. What is the deeper feeling,
even on the most challenging day and coming into a
place in my personal journey where I do realize in
(13:08):
all moments that I am fully equipped for whatever is
in front of me. And I love to lean into that.
I love to work my process in real time. I
love to summon forward tools in real time. The deeper
baseline feeling for me is that I am deeply well.
I'm well. I'm well in my spirit, I'm well in
(13:29):
my body, I'm well in my heart and my soul.
I am well in my mind in a very deep way,
in a way that has required years of personal excavation
from my foundational framework to be that. And I wanted
to have a show that kind of spoke to the
(13:51):
experience that I intend to convey. Every time we do
an episode. My intention for doing this show is always
so that whoever happens to resonate with it and the
unique way that I am meant to serve through this show.
My intention is always in building the deeper foundation. My
(14:14):
intention is never to sell you happiness when you listen
to this show. My intention is never to sell you trend.
My intention is never to influence you for an influencers
or influencers sake of being. My intention is always to
share tools and process so that each of us can
(14:35):
build a foundation for ourselves that feels sturdy and stable
and nourishing. So in that deeper intention of my own
(15:00):
life of having built and always looking to tend to
that foundation, of that deeper, more sacred self, that more
permanent foundation, that is what I want to be a
takeaway of every single episode, that there is something in
(15:22):
that episode that is made of the highest quality ingredients.
That is building your personal foundation based on your awareness
of self, your abilities, your gifts, and your unique individual
(15:43):
higher purpose. And none of that can really be conveyed
in general terms. None of that can be conveyed in
tips and tricks and hacks. And so I take a
lot of real series curiousness and that sacred responsibility of
being present on this show and being present with whoever
(16:05):
happens to be listening to this show. That's my viewpoint,
That's how I see it, that's how I move with it,
and my hope is that that is how it is
felt and received. And so when we were getting ready
to gear up for this next season, something was just
tugging at me when I thought about coming into this
(16:26):
new season of dropping gems, and I know that this
is very counterintuitive to the branding model of our society,
to the browning model of how we're taught to release podcasts,
how we're taught to have businesses at this time to
share on social you know, I knew that, And one
of the biggest things that everyone at the company was
(16:47):
telling me was, you have brand equity in the name
dropping gems, Like people know that name, people love that name,
people say that name. It's now top of mind. All
of that is so deeply true, and I'm so grateful
for about residence. But the title of the show for me,
no longer really fully conveyed what this show was. And
(17:08):
when I first came up with the title of the
show about four years ago, actually, yeah, maybe four or
five years ago, it was a little bit of a
play on words because that was a couple of years
after I released my first book, Crystal Bliss, and it
was after I kind of renounced and took an indefinite
(17:30):
sabbatical from my entertainment career and from my broadcasting career,
and you know, at that time, a lot of the
framework on social has come up with the elevator pitch
for yourself. What is your elevator pitch? What is your
branded statement? What is your memorable business name? And it
was really all about the marketability of things, which is necessary,
(17:52):
don't get me wrong. But so I was trying to
come up with a name that conveyed that moment in
time of my life, this moment where I was deeply
and more of the metaphysics and the esoteric, and I
also had a foot in a whole other world and
way of being. And so I remember my dear friend
DJ Head came up with me with this name of
(18:16):
like You're Dropping Gems. You know, that was very much
a hip hop staying at the time, and over the
last couple of years it's become a big pop cultural
reference where whenever we hear anything that feels moving or
important to us, you know, we love to share with
the person sharing it that they dropped gems or gave
free jewelry. And I love those names, and I felt
(18:39):
it felt really special when I came up with that
name for my show. It felt really like it was
a merging of worlds for me. But I do feel
that now as we embark on this new season and
my life has continued to evolve and change, and you know,
I'm speaking to the thing that I live and that
(19:01):
I love, and that I'm fascinated by a lot more freely,
a lot more deeply, a lot more intentionally. I wanted
a name that reflected what this show was. Also, I
felt that if you were not familiar with that terminology
of dropping gens and what that really implied, what you'd
be taking away from that, I didn't feel that the
(19:22):
show was as easy to be understood from someone that
is not already familiar with a statement like that, because ultimately,
this is a show that is rooted in mental health.
This is a show that is rooted in emotional health,
in spiritual health. This is a show that is about
advanced meditation, higher consciousness, self care, tools and practices that
(19:46):
help to heal and transform from a trauma informed lens.
And we explore all the things, the esoteric, the metaphysical,
the tangible, the Western, the Eastern. And I wanted a
name that really, for me held that differently. So I
(20:07):
decided to change the name to deeply well with Debbie Brown,
to the foundational intention that I have for everyone that
listens to this show. So moving forward, the show, as
we move into season three again is now called Deeply Well,
Deeply Well with Debbie Brown. We are now really blessed
(20:29):
to join forces with an awesome studio in the LA area,
and all episodes of the show are going to be
not just recorded, but we're taking it off Zoom. Finally,
Thank you God. As an audio file. Like someone that
came up in specifically the broadcast industry, and I worked
(20:49):
in radio for many, many years, the sonic quality of
an offering is monumentally important to me. So I have
been you know, I've been getting it done on Zoom.
I've been getting it done from my home studio with
my mic. But you know, I worked professionally in broadcasting
for a long time, and I've been craving more of
(21:10):
that studio experience. I've been craving that in person energy
that you get to feel with another body in the building,
another being, another spirit. And so we are now doing
all episodes from a gorgeously designed studio. Shout out to
my phenomenal teams, Samantha Timmins, Shout out to Carly, like
(21:30):
we shout out to color Theory. We have built like
a beautiful set that I'm excited to share with you,
and I I'm just excited to expand on this show
and share it with you at an even more expansive
level in view. So we're gonna have a lot more
opportunities to interact on this show. We're going to be
(21:51):
taking this show live and in person. Very soon, I'll
be announcing more opportunities to connect in person around this show.
There's going to be a lot of offerings that began
to be birthed out of this shift and this transition.
So thank you for listening. Thank you, thank you for joining,
(22:12):
thank you for choosing yourself. Thank you for investing the
time and listening to this show in service to you
and your own expansion, advancement, healing. Thank you, thank you
for taking the time to intentionally gift yourself more of
(22:32):
what you truly deserve in service to who you are
individually called to be. And I am looking to always
continue to do the same for myself as well. Making
the evolutionary choice, making the nourishing choice, and in this moment,
making this shift with the show is what best serves
(22:52):
that intention. So coming into our next season, season three,
deeply Well with Dee Brown. We have so many incredible
guests lined up for you. We are going to be
expanding even more deeply onto a lot of the topics
and subject matter we have been exploring through the last
couple of seasons. We're gonna get a lot more intentional
(23:14):
with the soul work, a lot more intentional with the
shared practices that you can take back into your life
in a very tangible way so that you can begin
truly living all of the consciousness, all of the healing,
all of the growth that you've been diligently taking into
your life. I'm grateful for you. I have so much
(23:35):
reverence for your journey and my own, and I am
excited to continue to grow this show with you. Big, huge,
special shout out to Jacquis Thomas for being the producer
on this show and just guiding me through the last
few seasons and this next season. Yeah, let's get it
all right. I love you, Thank you for listening, and
(23:57):
