Speaker 1 (00:49):
It's such a cute little thing, Francois we call it.
Speaker 3 (00:56):
How do you even say that?
Speaker 4 (00:58):
How do you with the name like Francis not know
how to pronoun French? Friends?
Speaker 1 (01:05):
Coure? Okay, he's showing off his hair, ladies and gentlemen.
It's a franchise. Shane Douglas's joining us.
Speaker 4 (01:12):
What's happening everybody?
Speaker 1 (01:13):
I think?
Speaker 4 (01:14):
Real? What is he?
Speaker 1 (01:15):
Sixth timer?
Speaker 5 (01:17):
Something like that?
Speaker 1 (01:19):
You know, when you're in the five time club, we
get a jacket. Now six timer, you should get something else.
Speaker 4 (01:25):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:25):
We got to give you some kind of prize, but
how have you been franchised since I've last seen you?
Speaker 4 (01:31):
Two Bitcoin will do.
Speaker 1 (01:34):
Anything about cryptocurrency doing great?
Speaker 4 (01:37):
Honestly, you know you reach it for being in this business,
in this sport. H to still be opening our eyes
in the morning. It's still having hair to do it with,
is uh? It's a rarity in this business, so I'll
take it.
Speaker 1 (01:50):
I opened my eye, my one eye, and then the
other one won't open, so I have to wait.
Speaker 4 (01:58):
I love it.
Speaker 1 (01:59):
Gotta my body a little bit and then I get
out of that himself.
Speaker 4 (02:03):
Popeye Deve Francine.
Speaker 1 (02:04):
Oh my god, I'm the worst. I look like I'm
in rigamortis when I wake up. I am so crappit.
It's terrible. But yeah, you look great. Thanks for joining us.
Actually this was his idea to come on because he
missed me so much, because I haven't.
Speaker 4 (02:20):
Seen you a couple of weeks. Button for exposure.
Speaker 1 (02:24):
Yes to my millions of fans worldwide. Here's the franchise,
Shane Douglas. So what have you been doing?
Speaker 4 (02:32):
Oh my god. It's the basic stuff, you know that
doesn't get done if the single dad doesn't do it.
But uh, other than that, just you know, keeping busy,
and I honestly don't know how other people do all
this additional stuff, you know, the extra curricular stuff, because
I leave the house in the morning, usually by nine
nine thirty, and I'm not back until late and I
(02:54):
run on stop and I'm not getting a whole lot done,
even though I'm getting stuff done but no complaints. It's uh,
you know, not the black philosophic or whatever, but like,
we've had so many friends and our you know in
this business that aren't around to have those uh those
luxuries today, and you know, to me, it's amazing that
(03:15):
we've had the careers we've had and and uh, the
opportunities that we've had, and that we still hang out
and still talk. Like people always say you keep a
touch of fran scene and I'm like, yeah, here's my
show my phone like ten minutes a text to us.
You know, I don't know why they find that surprising,
but it's well.
Speaker 1 (03:35):
If I'm not booked with you, yeah, the last you
know where Shane or where am I? But the best
is promoters who don't know that we ever worked together.
Speaker 4 (03:44):
Well, we've talked about for your viewers out there, this
is like crazy town to me because uh, you know
how long we've worked together and those two characters have
been associated, uh together, and yet all you fans out there,
you'd be shocked at how how few people understand that
(04:05):
we work together for for what three years?
Speaker 1 (04:07):
Three and a half years. Yeah, I'll say, uh, come
see me at Russell con I'll be in the first style,
Shane will be in the fourth.
Speaker 4 (04:16):
You know, it's crazy each other across the room.
Speaker 1 (04:20):
Yeah, and and half the time I'm like, just get
your ship and come sit at my table because this
is ridiculous.
Speaker 4 (04:27):
Every mean, yeah, insane. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (04:31):
Well, you don't get anything done when you're around town
because you live in Maybury and you know everybody, so
you get side trapped all the time. Every time he
calls me, he's in his car, a cup of coffee
in his hand, and then somebody will walk by and
he'll start to talk to them, all like hello on
the phone, talk to me.
Speaker 5 (04:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (04:50):
Yeah, but we have we have a lot coming up together.
But we wanted to talk a little bit about current
current events going on wrestling. Last week we discussed and
I don't know if you've seen it. Did you see
the promo that Charlotte Flair and Tiffany Stratton cut on SmackDown?
Speaker 4 (05:11):
No? I did not.
Speaker 1 (05:13):
Oh wow, okay, so you're not good. Yeah, we covered
it last week. It was It was one of the
most awkward things I think I've watched in a really
long time. In my opinion. Now, I don't watch the
current product I'll watch WrestleMania when I get home from Vegas,
(05:33):
but I don't watch RAW, I don't watch Mackdown, so
I don't really know what's going on too much. I
try to keep up a little on socials. Right, We
watched this promo because it was like wildfire. It was
all over the internet like this is the most craziest
thing you'll see and blah blah blah. And it was
Charlotte Flair. Apparently she's the heel because she was getting
booed out of the building, which is great. Yeah, I
(05:55):
mean crowds behind the younger Tiffany Stratton, well you know blonde,
because it's Tiffy time. She's real cute, right to me.
They both work solid, solid performers, really really really good.
They're building up to this WrestleMania match. And the promo
was so bad and Charlotte was literally thrown off her
(06:21):
game by the crowd. She got so flabbergasted. I feel
like she either forgot her words. They were booing her.
Every time she tried to speak, they would just continue
to boo, and finally she just said, I'll let you
have the last word. She didn't even get her.
Speaker 4 (06:42):
Thoughts out some of you said there a second ago,
I could remember her lines or her words. She shouldn't
have lines to remember.
Speaker 6 (06:54):
The contrary, well, you know it's she's an intelligent young lady, right,
and I'm sure if she were sitting here talking to us,
would have no trouble conversing back and forth.
Speaker 4 (07:05):
If you know your storyline, if you know your opponent, Uh,
you should never get thrown off on one because there
should never be a line to have to remember you're
talking about the angle that you're currently involved in. Yea,
we know the industry has gone a completely different direction, right,
all of that, it's I'm curious to see it now.
When we get off, I'm gonna pull it up and
take it.
Speaker 1 (07:25):
Yeah, pull it up, and I want you to text
me after you watch it and let me know your thoughts.
I just got a.
Speaker 5 (07:30):
Piece here if you want, I got about thirty seconds
of it here.
Speaker 4 (07:32):
If you want to go, no, you would.
Speaker 1 (07:34):
You would have to go back all the way and
show where she just was like never talking, and the
crowd's just booing doing booing, and it's like when we
when we would do a promo, or or if I
would do a promo and the crowd was booing so loud.
It's like, Hey, I'll wait, I got all the time
in the world.
Speaker 4 (07:54):
Correct, you love me so much.
Speaker 1 (07:55):
I'll stay as long as you want me to. And
then she wasn't even interacting really with crowd. It looked
like she was frazzled.
Speaker 4 (08:02):
To me.
Speaker 1 (08:03):
Uh, Chad, do you agree.
Speaker 4 (08:05):
With that song? It was weird.
Speaker 1 (08:08):
It looked very awkward, and the last two lines are
what saved it because they took personal shots at each other.
And so now the crowd's thinking is this was that
a shoot? Was it ad lived or was it planned
all along? Because you really you really can't tell because
it was completely rushed. Yeah, like she and I don't
want to give it away, but Tiffany said something on
(08:30):
her way out, and then Charlotte just really quickly said
something to her, and then it was done, and I
was just like, well, it was just awkward.
Speaker 4 (08:40):
Well I think I mentioned before there. You know Connor,
my oldest son has Netflix and so he had been
going back and watching. Uh, either of my boys have
watched the business in ten years or longer. Yeah, Cayden
a few times with being Dominican when Dominica still alive,
(09:01):
but by and Lawren's they don't watch they've gone into
UFC stuff now, but they started watching again. In for Connor,
it was like a taking back to his childhood because
of John Cena being involved and the Hardy Boys, which
were his favorites. She m, punk, and so he's been
watching it. But then afterwards, she said, I'd ask him
(09:23):
a week or two later because he had mentioned that
he'd watched it, and I said, you know, how was
the rest of the show and he's it was like
a like you can hear the brain, like you plug up.
And he said, well, I've heard you talking about the
business for like the last ten fifteen years. I've never
quite understood it, he said, but now after watching the
(09:43):
other guys on that other guys mean other than seeing
in the Punk and Hardy Boys, he said, I don't
know any of them, and be quite honest, they all stunk.
So you know, he's he and Kayden watched Monday Night
together for the first time and god does how long? Yeah,
so they're reacquainting to the business. But you know, clue
(10:07):
into the people that are writing this stuff and and
pushing it out there. Uh, those kids that came back
and my two boys Uh came back to WWE Uh
came back because of those legend guys that they had
seen and not because of the other stuff. So uh,
it's I'm curious to see how they're how they're doing this.
I also did see a big ned had sent me
(10:31):
a clip of uh ja uso, you know, and missing
the spots and things, and it looks like they're What
you don't know is like, did they create this gimmick
because he screwed up some spots and trying to cover
it up, or was this the intention from the beginning?
And uh, you know it's and it's really hard to
(10:54):
tell which is good, right that that that you really
can't tell the other that he's just you know, now
starting to look a little corny because of you know,
the constant missing of stuff. So I'd be curious to
find out. Has there been any any leak on on
the promo from uh from the girls that that that
that was written that way or that they wanted them
(11:15):
to get into that kind of you know, an awkward
back and forth. I don't know, but was there anything
online suggesting now that it.
Speaker 5 (11:23):
Was heat there was just that they afterwards? Was they
had tension based off of this botched promo and then
then again not the spoiler for you to watch it,
but the closing line was not very favorable.
Speaker 1 (11:37):
Yeah wow, yeah, I heard there was some heat backstage,
but again, you don't know who's legit and who you know,
everybody's a meltzer these days, and half the time, what
are you going to do? But it just it was
just very and and it's surprising because you know, these girls,
(11:57):
they can work in the They're tremendous, you know.
Speaker 4 (12:02):
I think Charlotte.
Speaker 1 (12:03):
Flair is one of the best team of wrestlers out
there right now, and I've seen her cut good promos
in the past, but this one, you know, leading up
to the biggest show of the year, it fell flat,
and it just was just a disappointment, you know, if
you're a newbie and you're too like I was saying
the chat, I said, you know, I'm not following this storyline,
(12:25):
so I really don't know what their beef is because
they didn't really say too much like and that's why
I like, we't won't later on. We'll talk about it
after you watch it. But currently there's another angle going
on with Paul Hayman and I guess you didn't see it.
I didn't see it either. But the one thing I'm
(12:45):
seeing people say online is give this man an oscar,
And I'm just like, Okay, is that sarcasm or is
that really good acting? Yeah, apparently he was in tears,
he was crying. He's really out there and he's making waves.
And I wasn't sure if you saw any of his
(13:06):
work recently.
Speaker 4 (13:08):
I hadn't. The last thing I watched was about a
month ago. And I'm gonna I'm gonna steal a line
from from my friend or and Anderson. It doesn't really
matter what because it was all that's all pretty bad
for the babyfaces out there in the business. Take this
as a freebie. Never make yourself look stupid. And heels
(13:32):
out there take this from a fairly decent heel. Don't
allow the babyfaces to make themselves look stupid. That's why
we heal cheat. We have to cheat because we can't
get ahead just on the merits of it. And the
show that I watched that night, every single babyface on
that show made themselves look stupid, and every heel was
(13:53):
more than willing to let them make themselves look stupid
and explain.
Speaker 1 (13:57):
How they looked stupid though for the layman listening.
Speaker 4 (14:01):
So at one point it was an eight man tag.
Babyface has got this two hundred and eighty five pound
monster in their corner. The first guy jumps up and
punches them ten times, tags out. The next guy comes in,
punches them ten times. That's twenty. Third guy comes in,
punches them ten more times. That's thirty. Then finally the
(14:21):
last guy comes in and hits him once and jumps
off and turns his back to that two hundred and
eighty five pound monster. Now, just as a little background
for the uninitiated here, if you're ever in a bar
fight or a street fight for real, don't ever turn
your back on somebody. You'lloably get stabbed in the neck
or something.
Speaker 1 (14:41):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (14:42):
And that is exactly what this babyface did for two
or three minutes. Then took off it hit the ropes
and got clothes lined out of his boots by that
same heel that apparently had no residual effect from those
thirty one punches to the face. And then one of
the baby faces came in when it turned into an
eight way and was throwing punches that with his palm,
(15:04):
was hitting like like slapping that two hundred eighty five
pound guys shoulder blade. They were the worst punches I
have seen probably ever, and at least since I was
a kid throwing punches in the business. It was atrocious.
And I started watching the show with Ned, and as
(15:24):
we started watching, I said, I'm not gonna say anything.
I'm not gonna I'm gonna watch and take it all
in and we'll talk about at the end. That lasted
for all about ninety seconds because the show was so bad.
And you know, I keep hearing the fans saying things
in my boys that the WWE has gotten much better. Honestly,
(15:45):
I hope that's the case, because you know, when our
business gets hot, it's it's great for everybody. It's great
for the fans, it's great for the product. But the
stuff you guys were telling me, right, I was sort
of suggests the otherwise, So I would hold comment until
until I'm able to watch it. I'll say this for Paul,
and you and I both know this. For Anny, Paul
is an amazing promo. Oh yeah, he can get on
(16:08):
there and do it. And so the fact that he's
been kept not out of sight, but not put in
a prominent position for how long. It seems odd to
be because he is so damn good on the mic.
Speaker 1 (16:20):
Well, he was taken off because he apparently was injured
because they had put him through a table, and so
he had some time off, but as far as I know,
he was still back there writing. And you know, we're
leading the boys backstage or whatever. But now, what's the
(16:41):
angle here. It's like a Punk had a favor that
he had to get from Paul, and it's Paul in
his corner stead of in the other corner.
Speaker 5 (16:50):
Insteed Ofvan rains his corner, He's gonna be with Punk.
And this was the big dramatic build up play this
so you could see the over the.
Speaker 1 (17:00):
Top because I didn't see it the language.
Speaker 5 (17:05):
This is leading to the reveal, not even like what
happened post reveal. This is leading to the reveal.
Speaker 3 (17:13):
Out of your comfort zone. I'm gonna force you to
deal with us.
Speaker 7 (17:25):
Because at WrestleMania in the main event. In my corner,
you're wise man, my best friend.
Speaker 4 (17:41):
Paul Hayman.
Speaker 5 (18:04):
Yeah, dramatic, Yeah, Seth told him that's the favor.
Speaker 3 (18:16):
Yeah, yeah, you want to say, and he loves me, right,
he needs me. What I say to him, Yeah, even
if I let him, he wouldn't.
Speaker 5 (18:40):
That's your WrestleMania Night one main event build right there,
centered around Paul Hayman's decision.
Speaker 1 (18:50):
Does he start crying and stuff after this?
Speaker 5 (18:52):
Because I heard it just went so see and Punkins
beat up and then he's outside, uh the ring with
no no, no no, And then Monday Rollins goes to
curb stomp Hayman and stops and says, now you owe
(19:12):
me a favor? Oh so now yes, so now again,
as I put up the graphic before the WrestleMania build
up for the main event of Night one is completely
built around Paul Hayman. Only people favors, not only people,
checks and money always favors to people.
Speaker 1 (19:36):
So wow, can.
Speaker 5 (19:38):
You believe that right now? As we stand that that
is the build up?
Speaker 4 (19:41):
I mean, that was I gotta say.
Speaker 5 (19:43):
I mean it was good watching it, but rewatching it,
it kind of looks like it fell flat.
Speaker 4 (19:47):
Yeah, well, I think the computer to the fans, I think,
but once they have a chance to digest it. What
I was taking from is I was watching it there.
That was the first I've seen it. Uh is intrigue right,
there's I forbid how how long in his corner and
you know everything you can telegraph from six miles away. Uh.
(20:10):
The fact that there's the intrigue there I think is
going to be helpful for them. Again, they're in a quandary, right,
I mean, Punk can deliver great promo. Uh uh Roman
rings there you go. You know he's he's obviously gotten
much better on the mic, and and we know what
Paul can do. So if you put these pieces together,
there's a there's gonna be intrigued now, like based off
(20:33):
of what you said happened Monday with seth Rawlins. You know,
it's it's I don't know if it's necessarily like main
event caliber in the way that it's laid out, but
it's it's certainly going to add intrigue into the first
night main event. There he is right there.
Speaker 5 (20:50):
That was after he got I'm sorry I said Punk
got up. It was Rains that got gts.
Speaker 1 (20:58):
He's the theatrical, which I like because you know, that's
that's what a good manager does. It's all about facial expressions.
Now in the past. This is just my opinion. I
could be wrong. Every time I've seen Paul at ringside,
he really doesn't get too involved, like usually just stands
(21:20):
there and it's all in the facial expressions. What would
make me pop huge is if we're going into WrestleMania
and Paul does something to help Punk win, you know
what I mean, Like he does something like trips Roman
or something like, just get getting physical, getting involved and
(21:44):
not just standing there and being I can't be for
the crowd, you know what I mean, because like you know,
you used to utilize me all the time, and anybody
knows that if I was at ringside, I was gonna
get involved.
Speaker 4 (21:58):
Sure.
Speaker 1 (21:58):
Now with Paul, like like with Paul, he usually doesn't
do anything. So for me, like I would love to
see him get physical and do something and then him
turn to Roman and start crying. I had to I'm
with him, blah, you know what I mean, and just
do something and that would make that future so much more.
(22:19):
But you know, will he do something like that?
Speaker 4 (22:22):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (22:23):
I don't want to just see him stand there.
Speaker 4 (22:25):
Yeah. Well I again, we can see that he's you know,
not exactly in his fighting shape.
Speaker 1 (22:32):
Right, but he doesn't have to go in and do
a you know, a bitch spot or anything. Just a
little something that gives me well, no, no, just giving
me edge to Punk and Roman being like, what the
hell are you doing? You know what I mean? It
would just make it a little a little more special
(22:53):
to watch because he usually just stands there holding the
I call it a lay I don't know what they
call it, but the the gimmick or you know that
falla okay, the thing that they used to put around
his neck and I don't know if Solo wears it now.
Speaker 4 (23:07):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (23:08):
I'm so not in the loop, but I would love
for it to get like a little more physical with Paul,
because he can cut a great promo. His facials are amazing,
his presence is there, but I want to see him
do something.
Speaker 4 (23:24):
Yeah, it's you know again, it's find of came up.
What I would say is it's obvious that Paul's involved
in the uh you know, the concept you know, yeah,
the idea of that's behind this whole angle, and that's
something that Paul is always excelled at. I'm certain he
(23:44):
probably has something very very interesting to play off of that, right,
I have no idea whether they're taking it forward or
you know, if there's any plans on which one they're
going to elevate or whatever. But it's in general the
fact that they have three people involved in this in
addition to Paul Hayman. You know, three three man event guys.
(24:05):
There's a lot to work with there that it creates
a lot of opportunities coming out of that just moving forward,
you know. So, uh, it's good to me. It's again,
like I said a few seconds ago about the intrigue
of it. You know, there's that's something we have. How
many times you heard me something was intriguing from WW
in the last twenty five years, you know. So that's
(24:26):
the part I'm liking is that you know that it's uh,
that it's got something there for you to sit there
and scratch your head over and pay attention to, because
normally it's one plus one equals to one plus one
equals to I guess straightforward.
Speaker 5 (24:42):
I can say this is you know, the fan responses,
it's kind of they're telegraphing Hayman the swerve being he
goes with Rollins after all this. But I think that
then if they're telegraphing that so far in advances, it's
not going to happen then, right, And you know, I
think he either stays with Punk after all this, or
(25:04):
it just stays with Roman. I don't think he's going
to go the Rollins groupe. But the way they're billing
this now after Monday night is the fan response is, Oh,
he's going to Rollins now. But I mean it's just
you know, to me, it's it's actually taken away from
the other World Championship match, and this storyline is the
main event of the first night of WrestleMania, so.
Speaker 4 (25:27):
Right, Remember, one of Paul's greatest attributes as a booker
is to know he's got his finger on the pulse
of the fans, and whatever it is the fans are
going to expect, there will be some trick thrown into that. Well,
you know, swerve right, and swerves always draw, you know,
when it's done well, when a swerve is done properly.
(25:49):
I'm off the top of my head, I'm trying to
think of sometime that a swerve was thrown in and
utilized properly and not worked. You know. So the fact
that we have three people here involved and god knows,
could you know, could somebody else come out from his
past during that match, there's gonna be a lot to
play with there for them based on what I'm seeing
so far just on the front of it, haven't watched
(26:11):
any lead up to this and most likely won't be
watching anything after it. Uh, it's intriguing and it's something
that's pretty new to them that we haven't seen in
quite a while. Them being wwe.
