Speaker 1 (00:01):
Welcome in everybody to Fantasy Pros. This is the Fantasy
Football Podcast. Is me Joey p Joe Pizipia, and today
we're going to take a look at the NFC draft
grades for the twenty twenty four NFL Draft. It's in
the books, it's done. Seems like the perfect time to
see who made the grade and everyone's doing the draft
grades and all that stuff. Yeah, the eye test does matter,
especially when we're talking about fantasy stuff. But for you,

(00:23):
put the math behind it. Tell everybody why the draft
grades that you do are so different than everybody else.

Speaker 2 (00:28):
I try to put metrics behind it, you know.

Speaker 3 (00:29):
I try to quantify the value at least of where
my board saw these prospects in advance of the draft.
So it's not just eyeballing it. It's not just you know, capricious.
After the draft, I try to put metrics behind that
of where my board saw the guy and then compare
that against the draft equity that the team spend. And
then you know, that's how we do the division after
the draft, of eatured the classes and put an ROI

(00:50):
metric on it.

Speaker 1 (00:51):
Speaking of capricious, Derek Brown joins us here on the
show and he's going to be giving us his take
in the grades from the fantasy perspective, which is exactly
what we are care about the end of the day.
So make sure if you haven't really subscribed to the
YouTube channel Ring the Belt, that it goes ding, And
of course after the show, drop your comments. Bow let
us know what you thought of certain teams in the
NFC and how they did. Let's get to the NFC

(01:12):
teams here, and let's start with the Arizona Cardinals. I
thought they had a really good start to the draft year.
For what'd you make of the Arizona Cardinals when the
dust settled?

Speaker 2 (01:21):
I agree with you.

Speaker 3 (01:23):
You know, of course it was Chuck going Marvin Harrison
Junior at four. But as we saw with some decision
makers over the weekend, Chuck wasn't always the easiest decision
or the easiest card to turn in. Some of those
guys did not do that. So even turning that in,
you got to give them kudos. Arizona is very much
gonna enjoy that guy. You don't like to toss out
the word prodigy easily. It applies here obviously with the

(01:45):
Hall of Fame father in the physical dimensions that he
brings in and he was a one hundred percentile PFF
grade against single man coverage past couple of years, and
then he saw more double coverage than anyone that Matt
Harmon had ever charted at reception exception, while shattering the
record for success rate that Matt Harmon had ever charted
against double coverage. So I don't know how you defend

(02:07):
the guy. I guess the NFL defensive coordinators that is
now their problem. So that was a smash pick at
number four. Like the Darius Robinson pick at number twenty seven.
That guy specifically, he's like the thing that he lacks
its athleticism, but he's the monster at six foot five,
two eighty five specifically a fit for three four fronts.
It's exactly what Arizona runs. I also like the Trey

(02:27):
Benson pick at sixty six. That was exactly the slot
where he was on my board RB one. I think
that James Connor might be in trouble, Trey Benson. Do
not look in your rearview mirror, James Connor. Trey Benson
is coming for you. The rest of the picks after that,
that was what I had the issue with with Arizona.
I thought they started going off the grid real quick.

(02:48):
I didn't understand the Isaiah Adams pick. I especially did
not understand the tip Raymond pick. I was like, what
are you doing there? So that you know some of
those picks? Is why I started to get confused. I
ended up giving them a seat because of their success
early on, and they absolutely improved their talent, but because
of some of those weird decisions later, I ended up
giving them a seat.

Speaker 1 (03:09):
Debro. From a fantasy perspective, it's hard not to get
excited because you got the alpha dog wide receiver in
Harrison and Benson who could be a really good running
back value. So would you give the cara excuse me,
the Arizona Cardinals draft here, I.

Speaker 4 (03:20):
Give him a B minus only because I really love
their first three picks. I agree with Thor that after
that it just went off the rails. Trey Benson's gonna
be there do it all workhorse running back as soon
as next season. James Connor is probably gonna split work
with him this year, so it's gonna bump Connor down
the board. The question is where I'll be updating my
rage draft rankings later this week on Fantasy Pros dot Com.

(03:41):
The Tip Raymond pick didn't make any sense to me.
I don't get it. If you wanted the inline blocking
guy to help out your offensive line, help out the quarterback,
why didn't you go with aj Barner around later? So, yeah,
I give them a B minus only because of their
first three picks, but the rest of it, I have.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
No clue what they were doing. Yeah, very hot and
cold there, and it looked like it was gonna be
so good when they started. But last it's a long
game the draft. You gotta be ready for all of
the pieces. Next up, the Atlanta Falcons. Oh boy, this
is gonna be a good time. So four, let's talk
about the Atlanta Falcons. They didn't do what we thought
that they were going to do, well, what anybody thought
they were going to do. But they were looking more

(04:17):
to the future than the present with this first pick
of Michael Pennix. Again, we'll see. Time will tell if
they were right or wrong. The rest of this draft, though,
what did you make of it as a whole? What
did you grade it?

Speaker 3 (04:29):
Yeah, they definitely got en f and they guaranteed themselves
that right away with that first pick, which is Joe
as you said, and you were correct. It's the first
first selection where I've ever been. I didn't know what
to say. It was literally speech literally speechless. My brain
they was discombobulated. The thing is, there are picks where

(04:49):
you see worst picks all the time. In fact, one
of them came what three selections later at the same
position in boone, certainly a far more egregious reach in
terms of qualitatively do you see worst picks all the
time in the draft? It's but it's the decision making
paradigm that was so stunning about that. Where you could
justify the Penix pick there if you wanted, if you

(05:11):
loved him, and you could certainly months before that, you
could justify the money that you gave to Kirk Cousins.
The thing that you couldn't do was both those things
in conjunction with one another. That is a waste of
one resource or the other that I believe nullifies your
opportunity to potentially compete, to go far in the playoffs,
or compete for a Super Bowl these next couple of years,

(05:32):
which in my opinion, is the only reason not to
use a Herm Edwards, but the only reason that.

Speaker 2 (05:36):
You play this game. The rest of what they did.

Speaker 3 (05:39):
I mean the big old rooke our boy, the Clemson
defensive tackle in round two, didn't have a problem with that,
didn't have a problem with Brayln tries.

Speaker 2 (05:47):
The rest of what they did on Day three. I
was a little bit lower on that.

Speaker 3 (05:50):
But the Penix pick in conjunction with the Cousins signing,
you get enough.

Speaker 1 (05:54):
For me, all right, d bro Let's grade the Falcons
from your perspective here.

Speaker 5 (05:59):
F zero zero sum.

Speaker 1 (06:03):
I mean, just what if Kirk Cousins ends up, you know,
getting hurt, and Penic steps in and plays, well, they'll
look like geniuses.

Speaker 4 (06:10):
No, then they look like idiots for signing him to
the giant contract then, because they should have never done that.

Speaker 1 (06:15):
Considered any theory that makes sense, You've got a more
accomplished quarterback, and Cousin certainly is that.

Speaker 4 (06:21):
You don't even get a chance to take advantage of
the rookie contract stuff with Atlanta now because you're burning
every single year of it unless what you have to
be your option. So he's got good money on his
contract for the next three years. So Kirk's not going anywhere.
Michael PENNOCKX, you can count me. I'm avoiding him in
and all Dynasty Rocky drafts. I have him as my
twenty eighth overall player in superflex formats because the fact

(06:44):
about it is is you're gonna be able to get
him cheaper in a year or two or maybe three
from now. Remember like how cheap Jordan Love was in
all of these Dynasty formats, It's gonna be the same
thing for Michael Pennocks.

Speaker 5 (06:56):
So don't spend the second round pick in all this
draft capital. We got pick top ten.

Speaker 4 (07:01):
Well, great, he just got his name called really early
to sit on the bench for three years.

Speaker 5 (07:06):
Congrats.

Speaker 4 (07:07):
I hated for Michael Pennix and I hated for Falcons fans.
You blame Terry Fontina, don't blame me.

Speaker 1 (07:14):
All right? Who do we blame for the Carolina Panthers? Thore?
This is a team that seems to struggle every draft
no matter what in terms of valuation. So did they
struggle bus again for you this year?

Speaker 2 (07:23):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (07:23):
It's crazy. You know, we were talking about this on
the AFC Show. But Brandon Bean and the Bills they
were given free draft equity to take the receiver that
they were gonna take anyway. That came courtesy from Disco
Dan Morgan who he gave up the number one hundred
and forty one pick for the two hundredth pick for

(07:45):
the right to take to pay Xavier to get more money.

Speaker 2 (07:49):
I mean, that's all it was.

Speaker 3 (07:50):
They moved from the thirty third slot to the thirty
second slot, and the Bills weren't I mean, the Bills
got who they were gonna take anyway at the same position,
Keon Coleman, they weren't going to take them. And then
the Bills got to pay him less. And then they
asked Dan Morgan at the press, are like, why did
you do that? And he's like, oh, the fifth year option.
It's like, hey, hey, hey, Dan, the better department, the

(08:12):
better scouting department for years a guy at the same position.
They didn't want the guy that you wanted. So maybe
that shure to concern you. But the other thing is
they had gauged, by the very definition of their willingness
to accept that trade with you, that the fifth year option,
to you know that they were getting or whatever, it
is less valuable than the four years that they are
getting of the guy that you were handing them at

(08:36):
that slot of the one hundred and forty first pick
or whatever. The value of that is more than like,
what are you doing? But the crazy thing was the
torching of that draft equity. He didn't have any shot
to finish first in the division of gms that torched
the most draft equity because of course Terry Fonto in
the top ten to taken that award a long time ago.

Speaker 2 (08:56):
The Carolina Panthers.

Speaker 3 (08:57):
They get a D for this draft Xavier Lagett, Dan
Morgan's transgressions aside, that has nothing to do with Xavier
Lagett's game. I don't mind Xavier Loguet at all. I
ranked him forty eighth. I do think it's a slight reach.
There's obviously the local angle there, but he's fine. I
comped him to David Boss and he has a fun game,
late breakout guy, special teamer as well, so they can

(09:20):
plug him into that early on well to see with him.
I thought it was a bigger reach with Jonathan Brooks
in the second round. They obviously liked him more than me.
Jatavian Sanders. I was lower on Jatavian Sanders than just
about anyone, like take a look at boards around the industry.
The hilarious thing is that was the one pick that
Carolina made that my board said was not a reach.
Turned out, the NFL was just as low on Jatavian

(09:42):
Sanders as I was.

Speaker 2 (09:44):
I was pretty low on this Carolina class. Gave it
a D.

Speaker 3 (09:47):
But it was not the worst class in this division.
So that's the one nice thing that I can say
about it.

Speaker 1 (09:52):
D Broke, can you say anything nice about the Panthers?

Speaker 5 (09:54):
A game A C minus.

Speaker 4 (09:56):
I think better things are here for fantasy, the draft equity,
you know, and with Xavier leg Get you we talk
about it like you know, the laid breakout and stuff.
The guy that I really want to hammer here is
Jonathan Brooks. I think this is gonna be Dave Canellis's
workhorse back. I mean, we saw what he did with
Rashad White last year seven then opportunity Share a year
before that when he was a QB coach in Seattle,

(10:17):
he was standing on the sidelines and saw Kenneth Walker
ranked thirteenth in opportunity Share. So as soon as Brooks
is ready, he will be the workhorse bell cow of
this offense. Miles Sanders can be cut after this year
for only two point nine million dead cap hit CHEWBA
Hubbard's out the door as unrestricted free agent. They can
help ease Brooks in in the early going. But this

(10:38):
cements Jonathan Brooks as a first round Dynasty rookie draft pick.
Jatavian Sanders. I'll just echo with Thor. I'm look clearpot,
the clear path, the playing time, but as far as
his his talent, I'm a little bit lower on him.
I have him as the tight end four and rookie
ranks thirty third overall player in rookie drafts.

Speaker 1 (10:58):
Right now? All right, Well, it's been a tough start
here for these two professors. The grades have been very,
very stern. Maybe things will get better here for the
Chicago Bears. They took Caleb Williams, they took Roma Dunza.
I mean, it's gotta be a good start here, Thor, No.

Speaker 2 (11:14):
Yeah, I give him a B plus.

Speaker 3 (11:15):
Although I saw a couple of Bears fans on Twitter
they think that that's too harsh. I will say the
Bears they come out of this draft with this what
my numbers say, second most talent in the aggre. Yet
they did spend the most draft equity to get there, though,
So just keep that in mind that Nick there there
ro oi a little bit. Caleb Williams of course the

(11:36):
most talented player in the class, but you know obviously
that the number one pick, So you know, I did
like the Roman Donza selection with where they took them.
There was the thought that maybe they would defer to
defensive needs or maybe offensive line there.

Speaker 2 (11:51):
I like what they did.

Speaker 3 (11:52):
Now you have the three amazing receivers that you put
around Caleb Williams. We know Caleb Williams' game and what
he likes to do. He likes to do it exten
He likes to allow the receivers to to break off
their routes and start to go downfield. Roma Dunes is
absolutely incredible climbing the ladder and then making these incredible
and catching catches over guys, and then he is incredibly

(12:14):
deceptive as well at both creating space as the ball
is descending, but also like in positioning in those moments,
but also uh keeping the defender off the ball and
the path and and the deception at that point with
the late hands and and different subterfuge mechanisms that he has,
like while the ball is descending as well, his ball

(12:35):
skills are incredible, and then the hands as well, he
just literally doesn't drop anything that that that is gets
that he gets his hands on. I comped him to
DeVante Adams, So we're going to get another one of
those in heading back to that division. The only the
Bears only had three picks after that, I I like them.
I let you know more or less, Amagaji was around
where his value should have been.

Speaker 2 (12:57):
Tory Taylor.

Speaker 3 (12:58):
Uh, people that follow me on Twitter that I'm an
Iowa fan and I was Tory Taylor's biggest fan boy.

Speaker 2 (13:03):
He's a punter. And I know that some people that
you know, maybe didn't.

Speaker 3 (13:06):
Follow the college football is cause they're like, oh, they
take a punter in the fourth round.

Speaker 2 (13:09):
Tory Taylor is amazing. He he.

Speaker 3 (13:13):
The balls that he punts inside the ten, he has
this ability to just they just stick and then they
don't go into the end zone. NFL fans, you'll you'll
see what I'm saying once he starts punting.

Speaker 2 (13:23):
But that was a fun run.

Speaker 3 (13:24):
Only five picks for the Bears, but I thought they
did a good job and obviously bring in just about
as much talent in the aggregate as anybody.

Speaker 2 (13:32):
Give him a B plus.

Speaker 1 (13:33):
De Bro your thoughts and what the Bears did from
a fantasy perspective, what's the great.

Speaker 5 (13:37):
I'll give him a bee.

Speaker 4 (13:38):
We know Caleb is kleb, but I don't need to
tell anybody about that. Roma Dunsa. A lot of people
are talking. They're worried about he's gonna be this year's JSN.
I understand that Keenan Allen is an under free agent
after this season, so I will be drafting Rome where
I was gonna draft before, because I think that not
only does talent neget, talent equals opportunity.

Speaker 5 (13:57):
Rome has it. I'm not worried about him. I give
the Chicago Bears a be here.

Speaker 1 (14:02):
All right, let's move on to the Dallas Cowboys. Some
varying opinions here, So thor I'm interested to get yours.
They started with the tackle, then went to the edge.
They didn't take the running back. Everybody was waiting, especially
when Marshaun Lloyd just kind of fell in their lap
and they still said, no, no thanks. How old does
Ezekiel Elliott? Let's go sign him instead? So Thor would
you make of the Dallas Cowboy drafts?

Speaker 2 (14:22):
Yeah? Mentioned so I gave him a B plus overall.

Speaker 3 (14:25):
The first pick that they took Awy was Tyler Guidon,
the offensive tackle form Oklahoma who has come up twice
previously when we were talking about other team selections in
the AFC episode, right with the Ravens and the Chiefs,
because they both had Gydon on other sides of it.
Geyiton became interesting at the very end of the first
round because he was that last sort of consensus first

(14:47):
round offensive tackle and there was those several contending teams
that needed the offensive tackle. Because of the environment they
were in, there was some of the competition for Guyton there.
The Cowboys were the team that ended up winning his services,
and they did so in a very interesting way, in
a clever way.

Speaker 2 (15:03):
I liked what they did there. They were at twenty
four and they basically won a gamble. They traded down
from twenty four to twenty nine, picked up a third
round pick. They didn't only fortify their offensive line by
winning the gamble that Geiden would still be available at
twenty nine and popping them there despite all the sharks
in the water for.

Speaker 3 (15:22):
That last offensive tackle. So they get geitoned at twenty ninety,
falls down to there. Then with the third round pick
that they acquired in that trade, they stopped Cooper Bbe's fall.
This stut offensive guard from Kansas State at seventy three,
Cooper BB is the fifty second player on my board.
The only reason Cooper BB fell down to there he
was this monster in the Big twelve who was a

(15:43):
ninety second percentile athlete. The only reason he fell down
there was he had short, stubby arms. He had the
second shortest arms of like one hundred and twenty guards
in my database for this class. If he can overcome that,
just like you did in college, he is going to
be a tremendous offensive guard in.

Speaker 2 (15:57):
The NFL as well.

Speaker 3 (15:59):
The rest of their I like their second round pick
as well of Marshawn Newland, who was a stud defensive
end in the MAC who dominated down there and tested
as a ninety percent athlete. The questions with him it's
the you dominating the MAC, and the MAC has become
a pretty poor conference. The guys he was dominating are
not going to be playing football in the future, so
that was one question with him. Then he also has
to refine the pass rushing moves because he has this

(16:20):
hair on fire come forward, you know, like he's just
throwing the kitchen sink and stuff like that. It's just
this extremely aggressive game needs some more nuance, needs some
more pass rushing moves with him.

Speaker 2 (16:30):
But overall, I liked the a Dallas did game A
B plus.

Speaker 1 (16:33):
Debro your thoughts on the Cowboys draft.

Speaker 4 (16:35):
I don't understand what they were doing with running backs, y'all,
y'all hit that right now. It's Rico dald or Zeke Elliott.
They're gonna be the starters. I think considering what they did.
Loved all the offensive line picks. It's gonna help his
team out Ceedee Lamb should eat considering this receiving room.
I gave them based off the offensive line and the
fortification there, I gave them a B plus.

Speaker 1 (16:57):
Okay, so a B plus there Again, I think any
of us really understan was going on there with the
running backs. Let's get to the Lions here for Yeah,
that's some good things to say about the Lions draft.
They had a good draft last year, got a lot
of good quality talent in that one. How they come
out in twenty twenty four.

Speaker 3 (17:10):
For you, yeah, Lions fans and the administration, there were upset.
Some people of my job criticized some of the decisions,
you know, with the picking non premium positions in the
first round last year, and Brad Holmes he was upset
with some people that have jobs like I have criticizing
pass drafts even before that. So Brad Holmes, I hope
you're listening. I give this class an a plus. I

(17:33):
love what he did this year. I mentioned that the
trade just a second ago when when Dallas moved back,
which I love that move for Dallas, you know the
team on the other side of that, It was mister
Brad Holmes, the guy that moved up. This was a
win win trade. The manifestation of all the offensive tackles
going higher up above was that it was shoving defenders
down the board that we thought were going to go higher.

(17:55):
One of those guys was Terry on Arnold, who was
the number two corner on my board. I ranked them sixteenth.
He was available at twenty four. Brad Holmes got aggressive
moved up in that trade. Juice well Worth the squeeze
from the lines perspective, why because cornerback was their biggest need.
They had spent the offseason trying to address it with
the trade for Carlton Davis the contract for Amik Robertson,
but they weren't done. They make the move for Arnold

(18:17):
that was tremendous. Then the next round enis ras for
a junior. He had gotten filtered down the board. He
was number thirty six on my board. They end up
getting him at sixty one. I comp him to Byron Murphy,
Byron Murphy junior, a guy who was a very good
collegiate guy on the outside, played some slot as well.
Obviously he has turned into a slot at the NFL level.
That's where I think Enis Regstraw Junior is going, and

(18:39):
I think he is going to fit really well there.
Little on the skinny side and not the best athlete,
but I love the way he plays the game and
I think it's gonna be a big time fit there.
Holmes did a very interesting upside lottery ticket shot on
a kid from British Columbia in the middle rounds.

Speaker 2 (18:55):
You know, just a total ball of clay type of
guy there.

Speaker 3 (18:58):
But the picks at the end and I love the
value on all of them, Sioni, Vaki Makai Wingo and
then Christian Mahogany. We're all just super duper fun picks
at very good values. And Christian Mahogany in particular was
I just thought it was an abtract steal a guy
who is number seventy on my board. They got him
at two ten. I do not know why Christian Mahogany

(19:18):
fell down that far. I need someone to explain this
to me. I love what Brad Holms said about him
in the post draft presser. So this is Brad Holmes
quote on Christian Mahogany. He's got some dirt bag in him.
He's one of these Jersey kids who doesn't take a
lot of craft. I had to tell you that one, Joe.

Speaker 1 (19:35):
I'm glad that you did. I think we're all better
off for that one. Last year was the exciting draft
from Fancy respective for the Lions, but Debro looking at
what they did this year in terms of fortification, what
do you a grede it?

Speaker 4 (19:45):
I mean, really, they helped out the trenches, they helped
out the defense. I think it's going to put them
in more positive game scripts. That's going to help Dave Montgomery.
I agree with everything Thor said.

Speaker 1 (19:55):
I give him an a all right another a wow
a's for the Lions. Look at this, what a time
to be alive. Rebay Packers. They had a lot of
needs in the secondary thour they did address them, but
they did go to the offensive line first with Jordan Morgan.
What'd you think what the Packers did here?

Speaker 2 (20:08):
I'm generally higher on what the Packers do. I gave
him a C minus this year.

Speaker 3 (20:12):
I feel like they thought that they had to grab
Morgan because that offensive line environment what we were seeing
on Thursday. I was fine with that, but yeah, like
and I was fine with what they didn't run two
as far as Cooper Edger and Cooper and my linebacker two.
But it was after that that I got a little
bit confused. I thought they reached on Javon Ballard. I
like Marshawn Lloyd, not quite as much as Deebro does,
But I just with the running back room the way

(20:33):
that it was, I thought they had other needs. I
was I didn't really get that. And then Day three,
in particular, I didn't really understand what they were doing.
And then they didn't hit the defensive back positional need
even though those guys were getting filtered down the board.

Speaker 2 (20:46):
So I was a little bit confused. I gave him
a C minus.

Speaker 1 (20:49):
All right, Debro, would you give the Packers here?

Speaker 4 (20:51):
I mean pretty much Thor and I are lockstep here.
I gave him a C plus. The guy will bring
up here is Marshawn Lloyd. He was the RB four
off the board. I don't agree with that. Daniel Jeremiah
didn't agree with that. Marshawn Lloyd doesn't agree with that.
Jim Naggy doesn't agree with that. He was the RB
one of this class. I still have him as my
RB two of this class. I think you should be
taking him in the second round of Dynasty rookie drafts.
I'm not that worried about Josh Jacobs. For everybody at home,

(21:14):
this is where Josh Jacobs finished last year amongst forty nine,
quality of buying running backs forty first, and explosive run
rate thirty seventh. The miss tackles for forty fourth in
yard such a contact per attempt. None of those numbers
are good. I'm worried about Jacobs this year again. That
leads me to believe that Marshaon Lloyd is gonna get
fed or at least get to be a very prominent
part of this backfield. And if Josh Jacobs can't bounce back,

(21:38):
the Green Bay Packers can cut him. They would eat
a nine point three million dead cap hit next year.
But when you have the fourteenth most cap space in
the NFL next year, maybe they can afford to do that.

Speaker 1 (21:47):
And so you gave them just as flatzy or he
gave them the miners of the plus.

Speaker 5 (21:50):
I'll give them the C plus on the C plus.

Speaker 1 (21:53):
That's very kind of you. You're such a good person.
All right, let's go to the next one here, and
we'll bring up the Los Angeles Rams, a team that
we're not used to have first round picks. Well, they
took Jared Verse in the first Fiskey, a great athlete
of defensive tackle, which is something they needed to replace
with Aaron Donald gone. So the Los Angeles Ramstore, how
did they grade out?

Speaker 3 (22:12):
Yeah, they went from uh, you know what them picks
to being very tell. All of a sudden they had
draft equity, and they they started doing infrastructure stuff, you know,
and taking their medicine and and and doing board value stuff.
I I liked it, taking their vitamins. I I gave
them a be just a rock solid effort here. Jared

(22:34):
Vers my edge too. I I comped him to Kevon Thibodeau.
I think there's a lot of similarities in their games,
certainly in their frames that they're testing. And then just
the ethos of the North South speed to power thing.
Uh that took his collegiate teammate Fiskey in the second round,
like you mentioned, Uh, the thing I need to say
about Fiskey for people out there, he is not the
Aaron Donald replacement or the guy that he doesn't play

(22:57):
like Donald in that like, yeah, you can push him
over and he's not like the run game guy. But
he's the passing down guy. He's going to get after
the quarterback. That's what he does. And then the athletic
testing with him. You might have to do someone else
on the rundowns, but yeah, that's what you're getting with him.
Blake Korum is interesting that they grabbed him in the

(23:17):
third round and for Blake Korum as well, Now you
get to stay in the same area code as Pam Harbaughs.
So that's pretty cool with Quorum. I think he's the
early down guy that that's where he steals from Karen Williams.
Karen Williams, of course, is going to stay on the
field in third downs. Blake orm didn't really do any
passing down stuff at Michigan. So I think that's how
that thing shakes out.

Speaker 2 (23:34):
You know. After that, it was just interesting stuff.

Speaker 4 (23:37):
You know.

Speaker 3 (23:37):
I didn't have any problems with any of their stuff
on date three interesting dep guys. The pick I really
liked there was Bull Limmer late from Arkansas both center
and guard eligibility in a really good athlete in a
big frame who was both a good starter at guard
end center in the SEC for years. I didn't really
understand why he fell to two seventeen, item ninety eighth
on my board.

Speaker 2 (23:58):
A B for the Rams, all right.

Speaker 1 (24:00):
Blake Korum kind of the one big offensive piece here,
But looking at the big picture, would you give the
Rams debro?

Speaker 5 (24:05):
I gave an A.

Speaker 1 (24:06):
I thought they smashed the draft.

Speaker 4 (24:07):
I thought they dramatically improve their defense in multiple different spots.

Speaker 5 (24:12):
Korum.

Speaker 4 (24:13):
The thing I'll bring up here is the Rams were
only fourteenth and positive script plays last year. I think
if their defense improves, that goes up, and that's gonna
give some volume to Blake Koram. Now I still think
Kyron Williams is gonna be the leader of this backfield
to sixty five percent of the opportunities at least. That's
probably gonna hover him around the RB one conversation. If
people were worried about Blake Korm and he falls in drafts,

(24:34):
I'm gonna scoop him.

Speaker 1 (24:35):
Up all right, don't forget everybody. The Dynasty Draft Kit
is up and running right now. The twenty twenty four
version is live at Fantasypros dot com slash Dynasties. So
as you're hearing all this content about these players again,
you could use the mock Draft simulator and you could
also go over there and check out the Dynasty Draft
Kit again. Use it. Get all the access to to
the expert rankings, the rookie draft advice, the mock drafts.

(24:56):
Everything's in there for you to be successful in your
dynasty draft. So go check it out right now now
at Fantasypros dot com slash Dynasty. The Minnesota Vikings Thor
you were a kid of Christmas. You got your quarterback.
You didn't have to give up more to get him
to I mean, everything kind of came up Minnesota for
you on the night of the draft. So when you
start to look at the rest of the picks and

(25:17):
grate it all out, be honest. Now, I don't want
the Thor nice drum you know heart grade here, I
want the thor nice drum algorithm grade.

Speaker 3 (25:26):
Yeah, it's an A. I don't think it could have
gotten much better for the Vikings. You look around at
the mock drafts and the two months hetting up to
this draft. Every single time for the Vikings to get
up to get a quarterback, be that may be that McCarthy,
you always had to give up at least the second
first round pick, the twenty third one was the original slot,
if not the twenty twenty five round one pick. Somehow
the Vikings managed to get JJ McCarthy at number ten,

(25:50):
which the way that that happened was basically Quacy called
the bluff Kracy Adolfamenza, their general manager called the bluff
of the Giants at number six they weren't going to
take the quarterback. And then he benefit from some luck
as well. I don't know if he he called that
that font Noah was gonna was gonna go off the
grid and some different stuff like that, but yeah, he
ends up not having What he ends up trading was

(26:11):
just middle round picks to the Jets in order to
move up the one slot, and ends up taking JJ McCarthy.
There the upshot of that, not only do you keep
your first round pick next year, which could end up
being high because of the roster, you keep the second
first round pick. Well, then, because those circumstances we talked
about before, with the fourteen offensive players going on the
board straight at the top, the defenders were falling down

(26:32):
the board. Dallas Turner, who spent the entire draft process
as the odds on favorite against the entire field to
be the first defender at the board. He falls down
to seventeen. Quacy gets aggressive with the twenty third pick,
uses that parlays it up to the seventeenth pick. They
take Dallas Turner there and then they didn't have any
Day two picks. But then on Day three, Kyrie Jackson,

(26:53):
the Oregon cornerback.

Speaker 1 (26:54):
They take him.

Speaker 3 (26:55):
Great fit for Brian Flores, his scheme because he's super
duper big. Dan Lanning, the coach, loves him. The rest
of the Dave they you know, they just sort of did.
We're taking different developmental shots, but overall very good ROI
on their slots. Number one the first point that I
would make, but number two, the three dimensional chess thing
of reading the room number one and then knowing the

(27:16):
environment that you were in to not have to give
up the extra equity, keep your potential monster asset of
the round one pick next year, and then come out
with both McCarthy and Dallas Turner and so doing was
a masterful job.

Speaker 2 (27:28):
I thought, the Vikings get an A this year.

Speaker 1 (27:29):
All right, Debro, would you give the Vikings, Well, there's
gonna be happy with this.

Speaker 5 (27:34):
I gave an aame.

Speaker 4 (27:34):
I mean, look everything that they were laid out. I mean,
he gets your quarterback. I mean, especially where they did.
And we've talked about JJ McCarthy. He's been the QB
two off my board the entire part of this process.
I love him as a player, and you add Dallas
Turner all the other parts of pieces and again upgrading
the other side of the ball and the defense man.
I mean, looking from just a fantasy perspective on JJ McCarthy,

(27:58):
I'm sky.

Speaker 5 (27:58):
High on him.

Speaker 4 (27:59):
I mean, if you look at what Josh Dobbs and
Nick Mullins did last year in their eight combined starts
where they played at least seventy percent of the snaps,
they finished as a QB eleven or higher in sixty
three percent of their games that would have been the
sixth highest mark in Fantasy right above Justin Herbert. So
you're telling me JJ McCarthy gets air dropped into this system,
Justin Jefferson, t J. Hockinson, Jordan Addison, and I know TJ.

Speaker 1 (28:22):
Hockinson.

Speaker 4 (28:23):
It's up in the air when we're gonna see him.
But look, I'm trading into rookie drafts to get JJ
McCarthy in super flex. I just took him in a
draft today, boys, where he fell to the one ten.
You're giving me that you're giving me JJ McCarthy at
that spot and all day, all day.

Speaker 5 (28:39):
A plus for the Minnesota Vikings.

Speaker 1 (28:41):
The New Orleans Saints started with the offensive tackle Fluago.
They got kool Aid a little bit after that in
the second round, then Spencer Rattler, so they didn't have
a pick for a while there until the fifth thor
what'd you make of the Saints draft?

Speaker 3 (28:55):
Well, I'm giving him a B minus, but de bro
just said some very kind things about my franchise. To
give another grade for the Saints, which is the great
Mickey Loomis Against his divisional contemporaries Disco, Dan Morgan and
Terry Fono, he gets an A plus plus compared to
what those.

Speaker 2 (29:10):
Jokers are doing. Yeah, it's a very very low bar.
I like what Loomis did early.

Speaker 3 (29:16):
Take in Tulisei Fuaga, the guy that we were tossing
Tulis Fuaga in that fourteen slot to the Saints throughout
the spring and our mock draft exercises, and Lumis just
does the sensible logical thing, which again in this division,
was crazy, you know, compared to what those other guys
were doing. Then at forty one he stops to fall
a kool aid mckinnistry. Again, another sensible, logical, value laden thing.

(29:39):
Later on taking Spencer Ratler, I love that you might
find something there.

Speaker 2 (29:44):
Spencer Ratler.

Speaker 3 (29:45):
People forget after his red shirt freshman year he was
considered a potential future number one overall pick. They were
evoking him to it like a pint sized Patrick Mahomes.
After that season that he played for Lincoln Riley. Then
then his last two seasons, he was stuck by the
worst pass blocking offensive line that I've ever seen at
the Power five level. Playing in the SEC, he was

(30:05):
dead to rights all the time, which his game could
not sustain behind. It was particularly bad fit for the
type of player that s Bencer Ratler is liking to
scramble around a little bit like a Bryce Young or
Caleb Williams, you know, a little bit, extend the play whatnot.
You cannot do that behind an offensive line where there
was immedia pressure every single play. So for the Saints
to take a like for fantasy parlance, this is a
post hype sleeper shot by the Saints at dart throw

(30:29):
at the cheapest price point you possibly could. I absolutely
love that. And then some of their their later shots
as well. Bob means guys six one, two, twelve, ninety
third percentile athlete that was playing in a different position
a couple of years ago, why not take the dart
throw at one hundred and seventieth. I liked a lot
of what Lumis was doing here, Debro.

Speaker 1 (30:48):
I know sometimes you're tough on your New Orleans Saints,
and your expectations were low. So with the expectations low enough,
with the grade on the curves actually better than I
might expect.

Speaker 4 (30:57):
No, I'm burying them on this one. Thor said a
lot of very great things. I'm giving them a d.

Speaker 2 (31:02):
I'm not.

Speaker 1 (31:04):
Variance. We've had it.

Speaker 4 (31:05):
So here's here's my deal with the Saints. I'm on
board with the Folaga piic I I, but after.

Speaker 1 (31:13):
That, what are you doing?

Speaker 4 (31:15):
Mickey Loomis? Like what you You're in the second round?
Your offensive line is in shambles. Why didn't you just
watch what the Pittsburgh Steelers were doing? Why didn't you
watch what the Las Vegas Raiders are doing? This offense
will not operate well. Your your running back doesn't have
run to move if you can't freaking block, your quarterback
who was banged up all last year is not having

(31:38):
time in the pocket. If you can't block both guard
positions questionable. Trevor Penning, fine, you want to give him
a pass, that's great, but what has he shown you
that he can actually play in the NFL. I'm burying
them for this because I do not understand why they
went kool aid McKinstry when you already have a solid,
if not really darn good secondary in Marshall Latimore, a

(31:59):
lot Taylor impulse in the deebo I get a debo
is a free agent after this.

Speaker 5 (32:03):
Year, you deal with that.

Speaker 4 (32:05):
Next year. You need offensive line and you need blocking
right now. So no, maybe I'm just a homer on
this when I'm burying the Saints. I hated this draft.

Speaker 1 (32:13):
All right, this is a good therapy session for you.
I like, just let it out.

Speaker 5 (32:16):
Let it out.

Speaker 1 (32:17):
Derek New York Giants. I'm not sure what the Giants
plan is, but it was smart to take the leak Neighbors,
because goodness knows they needed a wide receiver after that four.
I'd love to get your take on the Giants draft
because it seems like it's just sort of mid.

Speaker 2 (32:31):
Yeah, I think that's fair to say. I ended up
giving him a C.

Speaker 3 (32:33):
Plus, I love the neighbors pack that receive That receiving
car was It was tough to look at before that,
and neighbors at least makes it look legitimate. I've neighbors
is going to be uh perennial pro bowler. Uh, if
not perennial all pro. He is different. The way that
that guy moves is different. So and then now there

(32:54):
again the receiving you bump everyone else down, and and
now it starts to look like a real NFL receiving car.
Tyler Newman was the first safety on my board, so
I least see what they're doing there. Not he doesn't
look like a ton in terms of the athleticism and stuff.
The thing I'll give him. He has the same thing
that Antoine Winfield does the guy that came before him
in that Gopher safety room, in that he sees things
before they happen, so he gets a head start on

(33:14):
every single play, which if you get a head start
on a race that is only you know, ten fifteen yards,
every single time you get a three step head start,
you tend to win a lot of races there. So
that's the thing you see with Tyler Nuban. Theo Johnson
I thought was a horrible pick. I think he's fools gold.
I compare him to Albert oh from a couple of

(33:35):
years ago from Missouri. I did like Tyrone Tracy though.
I think that kid's a sleeper. He might start stealing
some carries from Devin Motor singletary. But give Giants C
plus overall.

Speaker 1 (33:46):
All right, Debro The Neighbors pick is an a. But collectively,
when you look at the Giants draft, what.

Speaker 4 (33:51):
Is it, I'm gonna give them a bee. I'm with
Thor on the Theo Johnson pick. I just I'm not
a fan of his game. He hasn't finished higher than
twenty yards per route run. Or PFF receiving grade. I
think so I'm out on that was not a fan
the Neighbors pick. I mean, look, I'm probably gonna be
higher on him than most people upcoming this year because
they just look at the Giants as being a terrible

(34:13):
landing spot. And I'm like, why, why is that the case?
You believe in Brian Dave All before when he became
the Giants head coach, We've seen iterations with the offense.
If the offensive line can stay healthy, it's run well.
And if we believe that Neighbors is that guy who
is fighting in for targets nobody Daniel.

Speaker 1 (34:29):
Jones is that guy. I guess that's the other question there.

Speaker 4 (34:32):
I mean, look, I just want targets. I want volume.
Daniel Jones can just be somewhat serviceable. Gimme league average
quarterback play. And look, last year was bad, there's no
denying that. But the year prior to that, he operated well.
And there's nobody on that team that's going to demand
targets outside of Darren Waller. Nobody on that team demanded

(34:53):
over a sixteen point nine percent targets share last year.
So even looking at and if you had on top
of this, Joey. The Giants had the fourth highest neutral
rushing rate last season. No, Saquon, you can try to run,
I'm not telling you you're gonna be able to with
this offensive line. And these guys are gonna have to
throw the ball a certain amount. And I think they're

(35:13):
gonna throw the ball more than they did last year,
just looking at how last year went. Because you had
Tommy DeVito ander center, you had Tyrod Taylor, you couldn't
throw the ball. I mean, I think we're gonna see
a little bit more passing volume. And if Neighbors is
that guy, I think he's gonna surprise people in terms
of where they rank him in redraft rankings, and he's
gonna surpass that. I'm with Thor and Tyron Tracy. I mean,

(35:34):
he's gonna compete for the RB two role in this
depth chart immediately, Eric Gray was nothing spectacular. Two point
eight yards per carry, one point five three yards of
to contact for a temp next year. So stash him
on your taxi squads, especially, you know, if you do
have Devin Singletary or if you need the RB depth
in fantasy.

Speaker 1 (35:52):
All right, let's stay in the division here with the
Philadelphia Eagles thor they needed corner help. They got corner help.
Quinny and Mitchell made it down to that. Cooper Degen
made it to them as well, So they snapped up
those two guys. Then they took the edge rusher hunt.
So would you make of how he did again in
what seems like an annual festival. We all sit here
just kind of applaud how he roseman and the Eagles.

Speaker 3 (36:15):
Sure as yeah, this is becoming a yearly thing. Hey,
plus for the Eagles again this year. You know, another
guy filters down the board, Quinion, eleventh on my board.

Speaker 2 (36:23):
They get him at twenty two.

Speaker 3 (36:25):
Then how he started He went john Wick on Friday,
just started trading, going up at the board, down the board,
started going up the board to steal Cooper de john
got aggressive and moving up there nineteenth on my board.
How he gets him at forty, so forty picks have
been off the board. How he has two of the
top three cornerbacks, which of course that was their biggest

(36:46):
need heading and they had the aging cornerbacks. So now
how he's like, ha ha, nfl, I have two of
the best three cornerbacks in this draft. Then he just
starts trading down, trading down, trading down, trading down, and
picking up surplus value in every single trade, and then
he starts picking up future. So he ends up coming
out of this draft with three picks for next year,
ends up tying the NFL record for trades made in

(37:06):
a draft. Uh, he stops trading down for a second
to take a breath and take My favorite edge sleeper
in this class, a kid named Jaylex Hunt from Houston
Christian who was a safety a couple of years ago,
bulks up this crazy athlete that I think there's something there.
They're gonna use develop that kid, but early on he's
gonna be a pass rusher, pass rushing OLB. But like
I said, I think there's something there. The stuff they

(37:28):
did on on Day three, for me, it was hit
and miss overall, but they had picked up so many
extra bullets there. It's you can you can you can
hit and miss because if you hit a couple of
times on those is you're cooking with gas there. And they,
like I said, they picked up all these extra bullets
for next year. With all these extra picks, this draft
was an A plus.

Speaker 1 (37:47):
Debro your thoughts on the Eagles? Is it an A plus?

Speaker 5 (37:50):
For you too, it is an a plus for me.
I thought again, it's just how we do and howie things.

Speaker 4 (37:56):
If you look at this from a fantasy angle, though,
it's pretty brutal for all the players that landed here. Though,
I mean will Shipley for the next two years, probably
three years, is buried behind Saquon Barkley. So if you
got Barkley in Dynasty, you want to, you know, insulate
your roster, some pick up Shipley in Dynasty rookie draft
station when your taxi squad. But outside of that, he's

(38:17):
probably not gonna have much value unless there's an injury.
Same thing for my boy Johnny Wilson. Man love him
coming out, love his game, but to fall all the
way down the board like he did to the sixth round,
just in terms of draft capital hurts. And unless he can,
unless he converts to tight end, like we've talked about,
and multiple people everywhere has talked about, unless he converts

(38:38):
to tight end, where is the path for him to
get volume. The Eagles just re upped aj Brown and
Devonte Smith, so good luck with that. So unless he's
gonna move to tight end, and Dallas Goddard isn't a
free agent until twenty twenty six, So where's the path
for Johnny Wilson. So unfortunately I dislike this highly for

(38:59):
all of the guys that into their skill wise, but
again the Eagles overall and as far as real football,
they crushed this draft.

Speaker 1 (39:06):
The forty nine ers were unable to move a yuk
or Deebo Samuels of yeah, they're asking price with sky
high and they still ended up trapting Ricky Pearsall to
start their draft, excuse me to start their draft. Ronaldo
Green another piece there. So when you're starting to look
out now at how the San Francisco forty nine ers
did thor this one was a little bit of a
puzzling draft. To me, would you make of it?

Speaker 2 (39:27):
I end up giving him a C plus.

Speaker 3 (39:29):
You have the ability to potentially make a bigger move
with that Pearsaw selection. Now some people scratch your head
at that. I love the Ricky Piersall selection and they
took him thirty first. He was thirty second on my board.
Ricky Piersall is one of my favorite players in this class.
Comp on Adam Feelin, a comp I may have stolen
from my colleague mister Derek Brown. There once he tossed
that went out. I was like, that is the comp

(39:51):
right there. I'd been struggling with that one, and it
was like that, that's the one. Peersaw awesome hands eighty
six point eight PFF grade last year. Anything in his
kitchen is. But beyond that, NFL fans are going to
love the highlight reel catches. Dumbest highlight reel catches in
college that you will see, and he has one of
the greatest catches you will ever see in college. The
catch agains Charlotte. If people out there have not seen that,

(40:12):
look that up on YouTube when we get off this show.
The other pick that I wanted to shout out was
Dominic Pooney at eighty six. I thought that was a
steal Adam as a top fifty prospect. He played left
tackle last year, but I think he's headed inside to
guard at the next level. I think he is going
to be a really, really good one. But yeah, overall
for the forty nine ers a CE plus, some of
the picks later on were sort of hit and miss

(40:33):
for me. But like I said, I really like the
pearsall pick. I think that they're going to do stuff
with him. I thought it was interesting.

Speaker 1 (40:39):
CJ.

Speaker 3 (40:39):
Straw was on a different livestream during the draft when
Pearsall was announced. He was like, oh, man, like you know,
like he was like, oh, you know, we wanted peersawf
obviously they have the Texans to have three guys. But
he started going nuts about how good Piersaw is and
he had watched pear Saw's tape. He's like, people don't
get how good this guy is. And I was like,
preach king, Ricky, Piersall's a stud and and NFL fans
are about.

Speaker 1 (40:59):
To find or no, yeah, Deebro, I know you're high
on Pearsall too, but one player does not make a
draft grade. So would you give the four nine ers
at the end of the day.

Speaker 5 (41:07):
I gave them a bee.

Speaker 4 (41:08):
I think that, yes, we can scratch your heads on
some of these picks later. I do like this as
far as them also adding to their depth chart and
covering positions of need. As far as Pearsall, I do
think that I worry that he does go the JSN route,
and whether it's because we don't know what's gonna happen
with Deebo and Ayuk. I mean Ayuk as a free

(41:30):
agent after this season, so twenty twenty five. Debo is
not a free agent until twenty twenty six. So unless
if Ayuk stays in house, Pearsall is gonna have a
hard time considering this team. And they love to run
a lot of twelve and twenty one personnel. Do they
switch up and now are they going to become an
eleven personnel team? You invest a first round pick and
you have all these guys still in house. I think

(41:50):
it's definitely a possibility of how this offense could change
and evolve. I do like the pick of Isaac Grindo,
and I think that people need to be taking shots
on him late in Dynasty Ricky drafts because if you
look at this and just from a contract situation, Elijah
Mitchell and Jordan Mason are both free agents after this season.

Speaker 5 (42:09):
And while Grindo.

Speaker 4 (42:11):
You can talk about okay or his hips a little
bit tight, and as far as changing directions, I think
that he can work in outside his own. His numbers
just on a per carry basis are extremely interesting. Fourteenth
and yards of the contact per tenth last season, eighteenth
and breakaway run rate and tenth in yards per route run.
So if you have CMC or you're going to take
a high upside shot on a guy that you could
probably get in the third fourth round of Brookie Drafts.

(42:33):
Stash him on your taxi squad, and if anything happens
to Christian McCaffrey, it could be ISAA Grendo carrying the
mail for the San Francisco forty nine ers. Jacob Cowing.
Look after we went to Mobile, I was really high
on his game going into Mobile. Now the thing that
will be curious in his landing in San Francisco and
the worries with Jacob Cowing is okay. If a corner

(42:54):
gets their hands on him, it's probably game over. But
we know how much motion that Shanahan loves to use.
If they put him in motion, get him free releases,
he can be defenses underneath. I'm not very high again
talking about Pearsall, who got the first round equity, I'm
not very high on Cowing. But if you want to
take a shot on him again late rounds, fourth round

(43:15):
of Dynasty Rickey drafts, stash when your taxi squad.

Speaker 1 (43:18):
I totally get it all right. The Seattle Seahawks draft
some different opinions here Thor, but is this maybe one
of the sleeper drafts that any team had when you
step back from it and look at all the pieces
that they've assembled here Byron Murphy Haynes Night to those
are the first few picks that they made.

Speaker 3 (43:34):
In my opinion for sure, and this is one we
have the new culturing staff. This is one I think
there was their fingerprints on it, and you get a
lot tougher the first one of Byron Murphy in the Trenches.

Speaker 2 (43:45):
Byron Murphy is a guy who grew on me a
lot more.

Speaker 3 (43:48):
I think the flash plays is what people saw, you know,
with the three technique, undersized guy six foot and a
half two ninety seven, and you see him getting into
the backfield the penetration, so I think I don't think
people get about him is how strong his lower body is,
and unlike a lot of guys like that, when he
doesn't want to be moved out of his gap on
the running concepts, you cannot move him. He's like a stump,

(44:10):
like I'm not moving and so then he just holds
the guard up, sticks his legs in the ground, and
then the linebackers can flow behind him. So he has
the two eight game. With that next pick they steal.
In my opinion, Christian Haynes stuttguard from Yukon, played on
all these crappy Yukon teams and he was he was
the one amazing player on it. It was like John
Snow when the horses are descending on him with the sword,

(44:30):
you know, going up against some of these awesome teens,
and he stuck it out there like it was really cool.
Then he goes to the senior Bonnet's like, how is
this kid gonna do against better competition?

Speaker 2 (44:39):
He was awesome.

Speaker 3 (44:40):
It was the answer to that question. The one other
pick I wanted to shout out was early fourth round,
they take a J. Barner from Michigan, a guy was
high higher on than most during the process. The interesting
thing so a J. Barner was this awesome, awesome blocker.
His PFF blocking grade last year the run blocking was
four points higher than any other tight end in the
entire FB. Everyone gave the credit for the Blake Krum

(45:03):
running last year to the offensive line, Blake Corman the
same yards before contact as he had after contact. But
AJ Barner with the run blocking, they would do all
kinds of stuff, moving him across the formation, putting them
out in space, picking guys off in the second level,
he was basically a third offensive tackle. He brings that
to your team. He doesn't drop balls, He's not a
great route runner, he doesn't have any speeds. You're not

(45:25):
gonna send him down fields like fantasy players might not
be the most attracted to him. But again, the blocking
he brings, and then he's a very very good special teamer.
And interestingly enough, the Seahawks new special teams coordinator Jay Harbad,
the guy that was Michigan's special teams coordinator last year
on their national title team.

Speaker 1 (45:43):
Debro would you make of the Seahawks draft?

Speaker 4 (45:45):
I'll give them a B plus. And really this comes
down to there's nothing to really chew on here. Aj
Barner included as far as fantasy wise, Like, I don't
have a highest ceiling on him. But this is a great,
great NFL worthy draft, and I think that this helps
from a fantasy angle that if you increase and improve
in the trenches, because this Seattle team needed to do that.

(46:06):
I mean, if you look at last year twenty eighth
and pass blocking grade per PFF for their offensive line
fifteenth and run blocking grade. They took shots on the
offensive line and they had to do this, like Gino
Smith was pressured at the fifth highest rate in the
NFL last year. You can't operate at an efficient offense,
regardless of who you have at skill positions, if your

(46:29):
quarterback is under the rest as soon as he gets
the ball in his hands. So looking at this draft,
they got better in the trenches. Look, Thorge has talked
about AJ Barner and he is a monster as far
as a blocker. It's gonna help them in passprot it's
gonna help them in the run game. So this might
not be a sexy draft as far as fantasy angle
goes on the surface, but this is absolutely a draft

(46:52):
they needed to help improve all the fantasy assets in
real life.

Speaker 1 (46:56):
I don't think you would call the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
a sexy draft this year your thor but perhaps you
see things differently. Would you make of what the Bucks
did in twenty twenty four?

Speaker 2 (47:05):
Well said, I gave it a C.

Speaker 3 (47:06):
And there was you know, again like infrastructure and helping
out some of these ancillary position. Maybe not for the
fantasy guys, but you know Graham Barton for instance, first
pick guy guy stud collegiate tackle at the end there,
but I think he is heading inside at the next level.
But I thought that there was good value on that
next pick. Chris Braswell and edge guy. They picked right

(47:28):
about where I had him. Tikeer Smith is going to
be a nickel guy. But it was just, you know,
those kind of picks, just hitting it down the fairway
with those kind of guys. The one that I wanted
to shout out Jalen McMillan, banging the table for him
all process long. I kept saying he was better than
Jalen Polk. I ranked him ninety third, the Bucks took
him ninety second. Whenever McMillan was on the field and
Jalen Polk, they were on the field together. Jalen McMillan

(47:50):
was the clear wide receiver too on those Washington teams.
So I think Jalen McMillan, he profiles as a guy
who is going to start in the slot in the
NFL for a very long time and is going to
catch a metric ton of Boss de Bro.

Speaker 1 (48:01):
What'd you think of the Buccaneers draft when all was said.

Speaker 4 (48:03):
And done, Yeah, I was similar kind of concept of
the way that I went with Seattle. I gave Seattle
to B plus Tampa Bay. I'm given the B minus two,
I thought this was a really solid draft. Maybe not
so much high end fantasy assets, but looking at this
was really just bolstering their depth in a lot of
places of need. We talked about this on the stream

(48:24):
when it was happening, But Antoine Wheelfield might be gone,
Chris Godwin might be gone. I think mc millan's gonna
be a slot wide receiver. I don't give him the
highest ceiling, but I think that he can be a
solid NFL player. And Bucky Irving. I think I'm not
telling you that Bucky Irving is going to come into
this step chart and he is going to press immediately
for volume off of for Shad White's plate. But I

(48:44):
think the Bucky Irving obviously fills a need because Chase
Edmonds could not stay healthy. If you want to take
shots on Irving just based off of the the tackle
breaking metrics, what he did on paper last year, I
get that, but we also have to note, you know,
miserable rats score last year. So I like this much
more from an en NFL perspective than I do from
a fantasy angle.

Speaker 1 (49:04):
All Right, we've got one more to go here. The
Washington Commanders. They took Jayden Daniels. I know you guys
are very excited about that. Johnny Newton was the next
selection there for them. It's a pretty strong draft here.
I thought for the Washington Commanders, I would personally give
it a day. But thor where did the algorithm tell you?

Speaker 3 (49:21):
Right with you, Joe, I give him an a as well.
This was a smash for Adam Peters and crew. They
needed it and they got it. They spent the Washington
spent the third most draft equity in the NFL, and
they come out of this draft, by my numbers, with
the most talent that any team pulled out of the
draft process. Jaden Daniels was the correct decision at number two.

(49:42):
Then they steal Johnny Newton at thirty six. He was
number twenty two on my bar. I love Mike Sandristell's game.
I could watch poetic about that kid forever. But talk
about a guy that sees things before they happen and
gets the fourth step head start on them and gets going.
That's how he overcomes his measurables. He was thirty seven
on my board. They had them fiftieth. Ben Sennett. You

(50:03):
want to hear my take on Ben Sennet. Go and
watch any of our shows. I love that guy. He
was fifty third on my board. Commanders took him fifty third.
We call it a battleship. Brandon Coleman, I love that
guy too. Is another guy's banging the table. For speaking
of banging the table, Luke McCaffrey, I couldn't shut up
about that guy all process. Didn't understand why people had
them lower item on hundred and seventh on my board.

(50:24):
They took them one hundredth I just adored what they
were doing over and over and over again. It wasn't
just the values in this slot, wasn't just hitting their needs.
There was also a cohesion and a plan with it.
It was just all that different stuff. I just really
really like what they did. This is the type of
class that turns the ship around of a franchise.

Speaker 1 (50:44):
That is probably the most important piece here. Did you
agree with that Debro that this is the kind of
draft that takes this commander's franchise has kind of been
floundering for quite some time now and puts them on
the right track now for the next five years.

Speaker 4 (50:57):
Yes, that they crushed this entire I mean, you want
to talk about that they are on the short list
of teams that at every single turn just made master
strokes as far as draft picks, and so I.

Speaker 5 (51:10):
Gave them an A plus wow looking at this class.

Speaker 4 (51:14):
I mean again, Jane Daniels, for both Dynasty, you need
to be He's in the conversation for one oh one
in super Flex Dynasty of rookie drafts, he is in
that conversation.

Speaker 5 (51:23):
He is my QB ten in redraft ranks.

Speaker 4 (51:25):
Just with the rushing equity and the fact that he
is going to chuck the ball deep, there's going to
be ceiling and there's a really really high floor in
both formats. Ben Sennett is somebody I really wanted to
highlight here, I mean thorn and I have loved him
throughout the entire process. My tight end to entering the draft,
my tight end to exiting the draft. I updated my
Dynasty rookie rankings and as well as my overall rankings.

(51:47):
People could be surprised out there because when they go
to check those out, they're gonna see his my tight
end ten overall in Dynasty right now. And if you
have a problem with that, you have not been staring
or watching Ben Sennett's game. Nor had you looked at
his metrics for a tight end that was ninth in
receiving Gray ninth and yards per route run last year
fourth and miss tackles amongst all tight ends. As well

(52:08):
as going back to the man coverage targets and looking
at that fifteenth in yards per rout run against all
FBS tight ends with at least ten man coverage targets.
I will be reaching for him in Dynasty Rickie drafts.
I think he is a second round pick. Where you
want to draft him in the second round is totally
up for debate, especially in tight end premium formats.

Speaker 5 (52:26):
He is going to go later.

Speaker 4 (52:28):
Than he should and you need to scoop him up.
I will draft him aggressively. So love that pick and
as well as Luke McCaffrey. Thors talked about him all process.
I love this kid, and I will say this, Joey,
we could see Luke McCaffrey starting in two wide receiver
sets possibly this year over Jehan Dotson. I'm not telling

(52:49):
you it's going to happen Week one, but by the
end of the season, I think it's definitely possible. John Dotson,
this regime did not draft him, and what does John
Dotson do has What has he done over the last
two years to pay off on that first round equity?

Speaker 1 (53:04):
Nothing?

Speaker 4 (53:05):
Squat zilch nada. Curtis Samuel was beating him for targets
last year. So I'm just out on Jahan Dotson and
I'm super in on Luke McCaffrey last year eighty six
percentile versus his own coverage, and people say, well, he's
just a slot only guy. You need to wrap your
head around this iteration. And right now in the NFL,
almost every team out there runs zone on at least

(53:27):
sixty percent of the defensive snaps. So I don't care
that he wins versus zone and maybe he has problems
getting pressed off the line. This kid is still growing
into his game as a wide receiver and we're only
seeing him scratching the surface about what he can be.
My comp and this is not lazy because he's a
former quarterback, but it is Jacoby Myers as a player

(53:49):
that hit the NFL and continually saw his game take
it to another level the longer that he was in
NFL rooms and with NFL coaching love Luke McCaffrey.

Speaker 1 (53:59):
Yeah, Adelvin was another a convert guy one two wide
receiver and ended up Yeah pretty good too. It does happen, folks,
But some good grades here for the Washington Commanders. Would
you think of the Commanders? Are any of these teams?
