Speaker 1 (00:01):
Hello, everybody, Welcome into Fantasy Pros.

Speaker 2 (00:02):
I'm Ryan warmly joined as I am every Monday by
Tara Roberts. We are heading into week twelve and these
are going to be five moves to make before week twelve,
just three weeks left really for most people in the
fantasy regular season, it is due or die time.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
Quick reminder for everybody.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
All of our weekly consensus rankings and tiers can be
found at fantasypros dot com slash rankings. Those early rest
of season rankings are already being updated here after week eleven,
so you can kind of go in, pick the experts
you want to see who has actually updated their rankings
today and start getting a look ahead and where these
guys are falling in rest of season. We're going back
to basics here, Tara. Last week it was a very

(00:38):
by heavy episode. This week we're going to kind of
the standard format. We've settled into a couple of buys,
a couple of sales, and ending as we always do,
with a drop candidate. So let's start us off here, Tara,
who's your first buye?

Speaker 3 (00:50):
We are going to buy step On Diggs here, Stefan
Diggs with a little underrated season here. I think it's
gone underrated because he got off to a slow start
and I think we had a lot of you knows
usion around what he could be in this offense in
general here, and especially because those first three matchups that
he had in the season were against teams like Vegas, Miami,
Pittsburgh who have proven to be past friendly matchups, and

(01:11):
he didn't really excel in those matchups, just between five
and eleven fantasy points in those But we do have
to remember he was coming off a significant injury. It's
pretty clear that they were ramping up over that time period.
And now we've got Drake May shifting his focus from
heavily targeting the tight ends like Hunter Henry and really
focusing in on the receiving core, and Stefan Diggs has
been a huge beneficiary of that. He's finally getting the

(01:34):
touchdowns coming through here with Kashawan Boody out, and in
games where he hasn't had the touchdowns, he's had higher
yardage Here. On the season, he is averaging thirteen fantasy
points per game and half PPR. But again, if you
narrow it down to excluding those first games where he
was clearly being eased back in there he is averaging
since that point fourteen point eight Fantasy points in PPR
there wide receiver fifteen over that time period here. And

(01:58):
really when we're looking ahead to the future here, at
some point we will get Kishon Booty back and that
might affect him. But really the schedule being so advantageous
here is why we want to buy in on him.
They've got one of the easiest strength of schedules remaining.
They face Cincinnati, the Giants, and they have a bye
week of course, so you know, factor that into your trades.
Then after that they've got Buffalo Baltimore the championship matchup

(02:19):
against the Jets. We just saw that over one hundred
yards here. So really all good things looking up for
Stefan Diggs. And you probably would to get in there
before we get this game right here in Cincinnati here,
So this is a good time to buy it on him.

Speaker 2 (02:31):
Yeah, I'm curious to see where he's going to be
ranked in the weekly rankings for twelve. Just go getting
this Bengals defense is so enticing. In the last four games,
he has had either a touchdown or one hundred receiving
yards in every one of those games. Like you mentioned,
even going back further is when this kind of you know,
getting settled into the offense.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
Hot streak you know, was going.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
I talked a lot with Ericson earlier in the season
about Stefan Diggs as a by candidate because he wasn't
scoring any touchdowns and you know, you mentioned the Kishon
Booty effect and maybe when he comes back that gets
styled back a bit. But three straight games with a
touchdown prior to this last week is definitely encouraging in
that direction. He's clearly a capable receiver in that area
of the field. You know, the bye week, like the

(03:08):
lady you get in the season, the heavier the more
bye week that hasn't happened yet looms because there's just
less of the season for that to get kind of
you know, panned out and even down in the long run.
So maybe he's a little more appealing if you are
somebody who's already set to be in the playoffs and
that Week fourteen game, which is like for a lot
of people are going to be like are you going
to make the playoffs or not? Based on this match.

(03:30):
You know, you want to have your players for that week.
So maybe if you're more settled and confident in your playoffs,
by it becomes more appealing, but still given the schedule
that you laid out, like, I think, definitely a good
bye and at the very worst case scenario, feels like
a really high floor receiver. He's currently in these early
rest of the season rankings after yesterday Wide receiver nineteen. Ironically,

(03:52):
he's splitting the two Eagles guys. AJ Brown is eighteen
and Devonte Smith is twentieth. T Higgins, Zay Flowers, some
of the other names around him. Does that feel at
the right range to you?

Speaker 4 (04:00):
Yeah, I think it's a really appropriate range.

Speaker 3 (04:02):
I think he's settled in there between guys who maybe
are a little bit more volatile. You look at the
Able's receivers, you know, higher ceilings, arguably lower floors. Definitely
there that his Zay Flower is very safe option, but
not the ceiling that Stefan Diggs has. So I think
he's a nice middle ground there, very appropriately ranked.

Speaker 1 (04:17):
Let's get to your second buy here, Tara.

Speaker 3 (04:19):
We're going to buy in on Breis Hall coming off
the disappointing game here and try and get in here.
We've got the change at quarterbacks, so get in before
the quarterback change potentially ramps up his opportunities as well.

Speaker 4 (04:31):
There. He's also having a really underrated season.

Speaker 3 (04:34):
It's going underrated because, I mean, the Jets have been
absolutely awful. It's impressive the fact that he is able
to be able to produce anything on the ground at all,
considering that, you know, having a functional passing offense is
kind of one of the qualifications for being able to
succeed on.

Speaker 4 (04:48):
The ground for running backs. So the fact that he
is even able.

Speaker 3 (04:51):
To get what he has been able to do is
highly impressive there.

Speaker 4 (04:54):
And then looking ahead here, this matchup.

Speaker 3 (04:57):
That he's had, He's had a lot of difficult matchups
right that have been a little bit difficult for him
to produce in. But as long as the matchup has
been okay, he's been perfectly fine. He is arbre was
heading into this week was RB sixteen in average Fantasy
points per game and half PPR half of his games
have been top twenty performances.

Speaker 4 (05:14):
There.

Speaker 3 (05:14):
Occasionally, you know, with justin fields, the floor can get
a low, get a little flow there. But we do
have the change in quarterback with Tyrod Taylor here, perhaps
we get an uptick and receptions there for him some
uptick in pass volume at the very least here, But
really why I am very interested here He's the only
viable weapon in the offense.

Speaker 4 (05:33):
We don't have Garrett Wilson here.

Speaker 3 (05:34):
The wide receivers are stepping up as much as they can,
but it's a group of practice squad guys unfortunately here.
And the Jets rest of season schedule is just fantastic
across all positions here. So Hall really does have upside
moving forward here, and perhaps even more upside if Tyron
Taylor can brief just like the tiniest mid of life
into this offense.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
I think you made a really good point on the
pass catching too. Like a we know that running quarterbacks
tend to take off rather than dumping it down to
the running back, So with fields just not being in
there in general, you know that should be a benefit there.
But also, like even just this week, you know, I
looked at the Ravens. They've been playing a lot better defense.
They haven't allowed twenty points in a game in over
a month here. But one thing that this defense has

(06:14):
struggled with, for it literally as long as I can remember,
four years now, is running backs catching the ball out
of the backfield. And with Tad Taylor coming in and
I expect the Jets to be trailing from us as
much of this game in Baltimore, it would not surprise
me if we see more action and you know, ball struners.
I know he had a forty two yard touchdown catch
two weeks ago, so like it feels like, oh yeah,

(06:36):
of course the usage in the passing game. But the
last five games for him zero targets three, three, one,
and two. So it really hasn't been the usage that
we saw. You know, in the first five weeks of
the season, three was his lowest target total in any game.
Now it's his highest since Week six. But I wonder
if we get more of that starting as early as
this week. It's funny looking at his rest of season
ranking than the early consensus rankings, I'm like, he's RB

(06:59):
eighteen nineteen is RJ Harvey? I would so much rather
have Bresaw than r J Harvey rest of the season.
Maybe that'll prove to be wrong, but I see a
gap between them. But then I look ahead of Bresaw
and it's Quinshawn Judkins. I'm like, why I'd much rather
have Quinshawn Judkins. I feel like than Hall. Maybe not much,
but I do think clearly I would rather have Judkins.
It's not a difficult decision for me, So I don't know.
Maybe that means that Hall really is in the right

(07:20):
spot here because the guys that had, I mean, like
Trevon Henderson's a couple spots ahead him. I'd rather have Henderson,
but like again behind him, RJ. Harvey, Bucky Irvings, you
know who knows is going on? Andrew Wise like eighteen,
I guess just feels like the right spot.

Speaker 3 (07:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (07:32):
I think it's a nice little cutoff point where he.

Speaker 3 (07:34):
Is the last of guys that you know is like
a lead back for sure, even when you look at RJ.

Speaker 4 (07:39):
Harvey, like, I know he's a lead back in my heart, but.

Speaker 3 (07:42):
Apparently Sean Payton doesn't know that in his heart. So yeah,
I think that's the If you're looking for an RB
two that you can trust to get all of the
carries there, and you know that he has upside and talent,
that's your little cutoff right there of a guy that
you can buy a low and get somebody who can
function in that area if.

to the cells, Tarah, you actually have a two for
here to start us off.

Speaker 3 (08:38):
I do, and it doesn't make me happy because I
do like them a lot, and this is not their
fault whatsoever. I think that we saw the unfortunate new
reality of the Chargers offense here. Joe Alt was the
last straw for that offensive line. They were hanging on
by a thread, and they've made it work to their credit,
and they tried to hang on when he was dealing

(08:58):
with the injury earlier. But for two weeks in a row,
we have seen the Chargers in what should have been
excellent matchups in from a past perspective, and unfortunately, Justin
Herbert wasn't able to take advantage of them because the
Chargers offensive line could not handle the defensive pressure.

Speaker 4 (09:14):
Hopefully, maybe they can, you know that, don't.

Speaker 3 (09:17):
Panic, because maybe you know they've got intelligent coaching, so
maybe they can use the by week to retool and
figure out how to make this offensive line work.

Speaker 4 (09:23):
But this is what it.

Speaker 3 (09:24):
Is, and if they can't, the Chargers have a really
rough road ahead. After the bye week, they face a
Vegas matchup, which on the surface does seem good and
they can be good occasionally, but the problem is is
that again, much like Jacksonville and Pittsburgh, they can apply
pressure to that offensive line. After that, you've got Philadelphia,
Kansas City, Dallas that by that time could be working

(09:45):
in all their new players and not be the layoff
matchup that they were earlier in the season.

Speaker 4 (09:49):
Then you've got Houston.

Speaker 3 (09:50):
I mean, it's just one of the most difficult stretches
that you can have to close a fantasy season, I
would tell you to bail out on the entire offense,
but unfortunately you can't.

Speaker 4 (09:59):
There's no a big market for Quentin Johnston.

Speaker 3 (10:02):
Obviously, Kamani vite Al is a top sell here injury,
and then I'm Marian Hampton returning. Ladimaconkie has a brand name, right,
you can sell him at any price there, And if
you're looking to downgrade to someone who's a little bit
lower ranked, you.

Speaker 4 (10:15):
Can still like, let's say, a Nico.

Speaker 3 (10:17):
Collins is somebody who kind of gets interchangeably put in
that same range there. Not the best offensive situation in
the world, but somebody who does consistently get looks targets
and volume there, and perhaps a little bit less volatility there.
And then Justin Herbert can be appealing as a cell
because if you've got another quarterback that you can roll.
With all the injuries that we have going to cross

(10:37):
the league with streaming options, people might be getting thin
here and they could be looking to snash somebody who
is highly talented and has been reliable in the past here.

Speaker 2 (10:48):
It's funny you mentioned Nico because I'm in a guillotine league,
which is why these got This is even an option.
But I had to pick between Ladd and Nico in
putting in all my bids for this week because you
get to that point year or you know, to pick
up a good player, you have to drop a good player.
So it's interesting that you put the two of them together. Yeah,
if I made you pick one to sell, you had

(11:08):
to keep one and sell the other. Would you rather
sell Lad just because as a receiver you can probably
get more. Would you rather sell Herbert just because you
feel maybe a little worse about him? I mean, Herbert's
ranked in the rest of the season consensus rankings still
pretty high.

Speaker 1 (11:23):
He's QB six and the rest of the season rankings.

Speaker 2 (11:26):
That there's not a ton of names after him that
you're super excited about, right, Like Jackson darts her Matthew
Stafford has been on a heater, but he doesn't run.
You know, maybe a guy like Baker or Dak should
be ahead of him, which which I know you were
kind of talking about, Like I would tend to agree
with that, but I mean, what it really says to
me is that the top five are so clear, because
like there's such a gap between them and everybody else.

(11:47):
It feels like but that's pretty high ranking for him.
So if somebody's QB needy, maybe he's actually going to
move who if you had to pick one, who would
you rather move?

Speaker 4 (11:54):
I would rather move Herbert.

Speaker 3 (11:56):
Yeah, like you're saying, I mean, he's still so highly ranked,
and we can excuse it, right, you can find a
thousand excuses for Justin Herbert.

Speaker 4 (12:03):
We always we always did it.

Speaker 3 (12:04):
We love him, and you know, just as you know,
early as last week we were still ranking him in
the top five in rankings, and I assume you know,
after we come back from the bye week, that'll probably
be the same here, so he still has value.

Speaker 4 (12:16):
I would probably keep.

Speaker 3 (12:17):
Maconkey because at the very least I know for sure
that Mconkey is at least the wide receiver one there.
So In, you know, you can at least maybe say, Okay,
perhaps they are trailing, they're struggling, and maybe they have
to eventually find a way to chuck the ball in
order to stay competitive, So you can make that argument.

Speaker 1 (12:33):
There, you've got another sale for us.

Speaker 4 (12:36):
I do hear me out.

Speaker 3 (12:38):
It's it's Tyrone Tracy Junior, and I did. The people
don't The people don't like it when I say to
sell him. I get it, we love him, but I
did talk about selling him when Cam Scattaboy went down
with the injury, and the reason was that and that's
what we saw on the field prior to this week.
Is that and well that technically we saw it this
week too. It's a it's a committee, it's a committee,
and I think people are putting a little bit too

(12:59):
much stock into the twenty two four where he just
pushed Devin Singletary out of the way. And you know, unfortunately,
sometimes what we see in a rookie season for a
Day three pick doesn't always translate to the years after.

Speaker 4 (13:11):
Here.

Speaker 3 (13:12):
If you're in a position, like you're in an excellent position,
you're heading into the playoffs, and this is not a
guy that you want to start. He's a stash for you.
That's perfectly fine. I don't think you have to, like
pan Excel, jump out of it here. But if you're
looking at starting him over the next couple of weeks,
that's a no go. Unfortunately, when we look at this
matchup that they that they just had with Green Bay,
I'm a Packers fan, so I say this with love.

Speaker 4 (13:33):
They're a good defense.

Speaker 3 (13:34):
Right, but I think sometimes we overrate in terms of
this being like a shutdown run defense.

Speaker 4 (13:39):
You can run on them. So them running well and
this matchup does not surprise me. I moved both of them,
both Tryro.

Speaker 3 (13:45):
And Tracy and Devin Singletary up in my rankings this
week because I didn't hate the matchup, and because with
Jamis Winston at quarterback, it stood to reason that the
run game would be more effective when you remove a
guy that is out there running for fifty plus yards
and Horden will the touchdowns that the goal line that
opens up the opportunities for the running backs here, So
I'm not surprised they both had an awesome week here.

(14:06):
Oddly enough, Jamis did get a touchdown on the ground here,
but the yardage and opportunities and overall carries that Jackson
Dark took with him really just opened things up.

Speaker 4 (14:15):
For these running backs here.

Speaker 3 (14:17):
So when he does return, we're looking at some potential
bad matchups here. Look at week thirteen and fourteen. Here
we've got Detroit, we've.

Speaker 4 (14:27):
Got New England.

Speaker 3 (14:29):
Those are not games where you want to be starting
either one of these any running back, let alone one
that's in a committee here. So this is a good
opportunity to take what is a good game, a good opportunity,
and perhaps flip him to something that might be a
little bit more agreeable rest of season.

Speaker 1 (14:45):
He is RB twenty nine.

Speaker 2 (14:47):
Hilariously, once bat ahead of him is Alvin Kamara, who
we've talked about dropping on this show before this year.

Speaker 1 (14:53):
But our RB twenty nine is that too high? Too low?
Just right?

Speaker 4 (14:57):
It's just right. I don't think he's inappropriately ranked. I
think we're.

Speaker 3 (15:00):
Looking at you know, sometimes he could get a little
bit high in the rankings earlier, but I think we
look at him correctly. It's just a good opportunity to
get ahead of what could be going back towards those
seven eight fantasy point performances here in these upcoming matchups.

Speaker 2 (15:15):
Let me ask you this, would you rather have Tyron
Tracy or the guy right behind him in the rankings
Kamani Videll just given everything like the unknown Hampton question
the Chargers offensive line. But we've seen multiple high ceiling
games out of Videll. I mean, he's RB thirty, which
surprised me at first. I get it, would you rather
have him or Tracy rest of season?

Speaker 4 (15:35):
If he was healthy?

Speaker 3 (15:36):
I could The problem is is that we don't know
if that injury was something serious or if that was
just they were getting beat down so he was not
needed to come back in the capacity there. I probably
would still lean away from that one just because of
a lot of the ambiguity.

Speaker 4 (15:50):
Ambiguity in that one.

Speaker 3 (15:52):
Maybe flip for another position just because running back is
that's a little sketchy range for everyone in there.

Speaker 2 (15:59):
Yeah good, you know the injury as well too there
and you know it's Monday morning, so we'll see what
happens and what comes out about that. We've got a

Speaker 3 (16:27):
It's one more running back heartbreak drop here. We got
to let go of to Cory Krossky Marrit gotta let
him go. I admire the resiliency of people holding on
to him, and you know, some you know, I get
it somewhat because at some point, you know, we were
hoping that Jane and Daniels will be back.

Speaker 4 (16:42):
They said they'd reevaluate after the bye week here.

Speaker 3 (16:45):
So given the information that we have, we can think,
you know, hey, he'll be back at some point, maybe
for a playoff fantasy run here. And he comes back,
the offense gets better. J Jacory Krossi Marrit has you know,
more upside, you know, when they're winning, because we know, hey,
if the Chargers are up there, winnings are the Commanders
are up, they're winning significantly.

Speaker 4 (17:04):
Those are the games where jacm had good games.

Speaker 3 (17:06):
But unfortunately here the reality is that he has had
six straight games, scoring a maximum of five Fantasy points,
and he is he is not the starting running back
as much as we would like him to be, and
it may not make sense to us. It is Chris
Rodriguez who they are leaning on there. So ultimately he's
a he's a handcuff and a committee and that's generally
never what we really want there. He should not be

(17:29):
higher rostered than all of these high end handcuffs we
have on waivers. There's you know, go out and grab
yourself and Ollie Gordon got get a bacial tute or
like just anybody that can also give you more standalone
value as a handcuff than you get with JCM and
also have has ridiculous ubside if their lead back does
go down here, you know, it's a run friendly schedule here,

(17:51):
They've got some good matchups coming up. But if he's
not the starting running back and the offense isn't good,
I don't know what we can look forward to there.

Speaker 2 (17:59):
I like could not be more on board with this,
with no interest in having him on my roster, no
interest in starting him whatsoever. Like we're at the time
of year where yeah, like even if you were, even
if you're not somebody who likes, you know, picking up
handcuffs as a general strategy, Like this is the time
of year to do it right where if a player

(18:19):
goes down like this is this Like it's like do
or die. We're three weeks from Fantasy playoffs and there's
just no scenario where I'm gonna be comfortable starting Bill
like any time. Like I would need to see multiple
weeks of really surprising performance at this point, and I
just don't expect that to happen.

Speaker 1 (18:36):
So like I'm a strong he's down at RB forty two.

Speaker 2 (18:39):
He is cretered in the rest of the season rankings,
and like even that might be too high, like some
of the like he's higher than Chris Rodriguez. He's higher
than Sean Tucker who just had this awesome game. He's
higher than Kareem Hunt, who's you know, got this opportunity
with with Pachecko out, Like I just I no interest
in him, So I'm not trying to like, you know,
you know, bury him and like spit on his grave
or anything, but I he is an easy, easy drop

(19:02):
in my opinion. If you're trying to make room for
any other high upside option, do it and get rid
of Jerry Crosskey Merrit.

Speaker 1 (19:08):
So we'll go ahead and wrap things up there.

Speaker 2 (19:10):
On that pleasant note for Tara, I'm Ryan warmly thanks
everybody for tuning in.

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
