Speaker 1 (00:02):
From iHeartRadio and Doghouse Pictures. This is Fight Night. I'm
Jeff Keating.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
And I am Kenneth Burns.

Speaker 1 (00:09):
Maybe we're just getting started.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
Listen.

Speaker 3 (00:26):
We were just talking about in the last episode about
you know, we're in production. You know, we have this
amazing cast, and we were talking about some of the
superheroes behind the scenes. You know, Jeff, when I pulled
up at the assembly lot and I saw the construction
and stuff going on, and then would it became.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
How did you feel? Brother?

Speaker 3 (00:49):
Because I mean big Shota Tony first of all, Ronald.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
Tony she production designer. She.

Speaker 3 (00:55):
I mean, I'm walking through the floors, no matter, this
is my first time, like what huge? And we have
four style stages or sound stages at a time, production offices,
they built.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
Those, Municipal center, they built.

Speaker 4 (01:09):
The High Regency, they built a house downstairs, Alana police departments.

Speaker 2 (01:13):
What is I mean? How did you feel?

Speaker 3 (01:15):
Because I'm looking at this like wait, you know, and
you in, Jeff, lazy gentleman, it's still having doubts.

Speaker 1 (01:22):
No, I've done down and now.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
All right, how did you feel? Well?

Speaker 4 (01:27):
That first? So I get to go visit before you do.
I'm like Kenny you gotta come in.

Speaker 1 (01:30):
And by the way, I'm there.

Speaker 4 (01:32):
Yeah, sorry, but I'm there when they're just doing hammer now,
like it's not even start.

Speaker 3 (01:36):
You know, it's just flat structures. Oh it was okay,
it was structures being built. It wasn't like full on
house being built.

Speaker 2 (01:43):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (01:43):
So I come maybe a week few days before that.
But I'm about to go in and see some of
these sets, and I think it was Cory who was
in the production office is take me around, and Tony
comes out and of course like, hey, this is chef
Katie and she literally I'm telling you. She stops, she
comes over, she takes my hand. She's like, your podcast
was the inspiration. And so I'm just like, oh my god,

(02:06):
like this is how it started. And then she pulls
me and she goes show me architectural designs, blueprints, her
crew of like eighty people all hammering out, and you
could see her like, Jeff, this is so I'm just like,
oh my god, Tony, like this is like her now
her world is like coming to life and all this stuff.
Then I go see like the rows of the costumes
and you know, so.

Speaker 3 (02:26):
Now I'm like and it was a whole sound stage
of clothes. I've never seen rows rose clothes and I
have a lot of clothes.

Speaker 4 (02:36):
So seeing all that, so but now you could touch things,
you know, you can get on the steps you're walking out.

Speaker 3 (02:41):
I was like, I'm not I never forget when you
saw the clothes, You're like, Kenny, you have to get
in here.

Speaker 2 (02:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (02:46):
Yeah, you are going to just pictured you and every year, yes,
everybody and everything.

Speaker 2 (02:51):
No, it was beautiful, man. But I want to say that.

Speaker 3 (02:55):
You know, when we walked it in, the sets were
actually live and we saw filming going on. What was
the first thing you remember seeing being shot Clairemont Lounge
day one? It was it wasn't even that I forgot
so Clairemont Lounge. Because I want to tell my story,
but I want you to tell how you felt. Yeah,
I mean, oh my goodness. Yeah, you may have to

(03:16):
go first because I'm just trying to I'll never forget.
I'm talking to Jeff one the way, yeah, bro, and
I'm like, oh shit, we're starting at the Claremont Lounge.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
Now, mind you.

Speaker 3 (03:27):
We had been to said we're seeing construction, we're seeing cloth,
we know the lineup of superheroes that will be in
this project. But we get to the Claremont Lounge and
it was something about walking in that basement that made
me feel And I'm just saying how I feel. Not
only was this going to be an award winning moment
for us, and I'm gonna tell you why I felt.

(03:48):
Award winning Kevin Taraji no brainer, but acting sitting at
that bar and the.

Speaker 2 (03:55):
First shot that I saw it, like.

Speaker 3 (03:58):
I'm getting I don't know why I feel emotion about it,
but I was like, who is this jolly motherfucker with
a parent? And it's filled my spirit because he was
just so him. Like you know, I always say this,
and I've said this to you several times about a
lot of the talent that has been a part of
Fight Night. There being versions of themselves. You know, great

(04:18):
actors are versions of themselves. And Atkins man, I.

Speaker 2 (04:22):
Forgot about it. And he's a local.

Speaker 3 (04:24):
No listen, bro, he killed and I was just and
I'm in clear in my mind you I'm I'm Atlanta.

Speaker 2 (04:31):
Yeah, I've been here since nineteen ninety all the time.

Speaker 3 (04:35):
You feel me in Night? But we know what it was, yeah, right,
and so to see it happening, bro, and I have
the film, I have the footage. I taped everything. You
know what I was doing. I was walking in front
of Craig. I was sitting in people's seats. I was
hiding in the corner.

Speaker 2 (04:52):
I'm like, get over here with me, Jeff.

Speaker 1 (04:54):
This is your shit, Craig Shay.

Speaker 3 (04:57):
Everybody was there, man, Everybody was so loving. And I
know that the big shout to the Universal team that
came in day in, day out to manage this Peacock team,
manage this, you know, the Heartbeat team, all the teams,
Will's team, Well yeah, Will Pack of productions. But the
gag was, y'all, I'm moving through that motherfucker like I'm
directing it. And it was like for me, that moment,

(05:22):
that day was worth it all. It wasn't an amount
of money that was gonna make it any better.

Speaker 2 (05:27):
You know.

Speaker 3 (05:27):
It was like, we're on our way. How did you feel?
Because I know we were there together on some like do.

Speaker 2 (05:31):
You believe this shit? Do you see that? Do you
see it?

Speaker 1 (05:34):
I mean I was just again like taking it all.

Speaker 4 (05:36):
I mean, they had really design wise, just redone the
whole thing in the costumes, and I mean I really
that's exactly what I felt transported back to literally like
you know, unless you peek out the door or whatever.
Like we're in nineteen seventy in the Claremont Lounge again,
just getting to meet Sabrina and Mike and Tiffany and
all them and just kind of see everything the way

(05:57):
it's going down and you know, trying to stay the.

Speaker 1 (06:00):
Way or but watching you get into you know, just
all come here.

Speaker 3 (06:03):
Yeah, I said, you want to go see Kevin and
Taraji right now? He's like, what are you sure? And
let's go see him right now. I'm going to the door.

Speaker 2 (06:10):
Excuse me, both of them.

Speaker 3 (06:11):
I want to introduce you to the founder of this project.
He owned the life rights. This is how I got
it with the project. And you know, think about Jeff
ladies and gentlemen. He plays shy boy, right, but he's
the real player. He has the ship ready when it's
time to deliver. And you you know, you impressed them
both with like just a little bit of the knowledge.
I mean I remember obviously talking to Kevin was a

(06:32):
little longer than the first initial conversation with Taji.

Speaker 2 (06:36):
Yeah see, but it was beautiful.

Speaker 1 (06:38):
It was also cool watching them see you walk in.

Speaker 4 (06:41):
So I stood back and watched that and they're just
you know, KB, and just like the fact that you know,
it's just amazing.

Speaker 3 (06:47):
Yeah, it was great, and I felt that the entire time.
I felt like the camaraderie was there. And again as
we began shooting more, you saw how Miles and and
Quad and you know, Melvin and Chloe and everybody was
just I mean, it was an unbelievable flow.

Speaker 2 (07:09):
And it was a respect.

Speaker 3 (07:10):
Too, and I think that's why we got such good
energy and performances out.

Speaker 2 (07:15):
Of everybody, you know, absolutely, So, you know, Claremont was
one thing, right.

Speaker 3 (07:29):
And so the next scene that you and I both
went to was at that house in East Atlanta and
we are, you know, pulling up and I saw the
black Cadillac right, and I'm like, they're all my I mean,
because you know, it's like we had to clear my
way inside the entire time seeing vehicles. You don't know
what really is going to do. And I'm looking around

(07:50):
at all the houses. You had all these nineteen sixties
cars in the driveway everywhere everywhere, and I'm like, oh shit,
Like we're outside and I'll never forget it.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
You're timid and shy. I'm holding your hand, Come with me.

Speaker 3 (08:03):
That's how I felt, because you know, Sam, I think
it was because Kevin made an intro. Kevin walked up
and everybody's all and I'm like, oh, this motherfucker's really
superstar and Sam I didn't even see him sitting in
the chair already there. So I turned around him like,
oh ship. So immediately I'm like, how you doing right?

(08:26):
And he's like, what's up, young Lood? I said, how
long is it gonna take you to say? Motherfucker, that's
the first thing.

Speaker 1 (08:32):
That's what you said.

Speaker 2 (08:33):
That's the first thing I say that.

Speaker 3 (08:35):
That's the first thing I said to him. He said,
we got a bet going right now. I swear it's
the first thing I said, is.

Speaker 2 (08:40):
Saying that's hilarious.

Speaker 3 (08:42):
And so we started laughing and Kevin is like, I'm
gonna get you the shot because he knows I'm gonna set.

Speaker 2 (08:48):
To get busy. I wanted.

Speaker 3 (08:49):
I want to be in all the ship I wanted
to And I'm I remember Terrence coming out with that
fucking flip.

Speaker 2 (08:54):
God when he.

Speaker 3 (08:55):
Came out with that perm, and you are a gangster
with a perm, matter of fact, you against the what
a red orange ginger perm flip?

Speaker 4 (09:06):
I was it was amazing, saying with the Silver Street and.

Speaker 3 (09:11):
I'm like, I asked, sound was like, what was just
some flavor? I'm like you, motherfucker, like you just do this.

Speaker 2 (09:17):
For a living us.

Speaker 4 (09:18):
That was the real day where I because Claremont was
one thing, but I saw you like you were sitting.
You took the directors so that just everybody picture this everyone.
The director is not even sitting in his own chair,
KB sitting in the chair. The director is standing up
next to him just loving this or he no disrespect,
and you're watching the monitor and I was just I

(09:39):
feel like you're.

Speaker 2 (09:40):
Struck a direction.

Speaker 3 (09:42):
There was one scene was I got a picture of that,
the director standing up with you. But I remember one scene,
and I don't know if you remember the scene. It
was when they were all in the car and it
came out of the house. Clearly somebody had just got.

Speaker 4 (09:58):
Shout out to Michael playing the body, Michael, I was
about to give you yo.

Speaker 3 (10:03):
They come out the scene, Michael gets in Terrence and
and this is when I knew that I needed these two.
And I didn't know I needed Terrence Howard and Sam
Jackson before this they were doing something and Michael's in
the front. He's wiping blood off his hand and I
forgot the exact line, but it was between you know,

(10:24):
Kevin had said it's a time to go, and Sam
said something and then fucking Terrence's reply.

Speaker 2 (10:31):
It was every movie I saw terrenceon. I got every feeling.

Speaker 3 (10:35):
Of that, you know, Terrence Howard sass and wit and
smart ass shit.

Speaker 2 (10:39):
I was like, oh my guy.

Speaker 3 (10:42):
And I remember because I was taping it, I'm by
the dude with the main camera.

Speaker 2 (10:45):
They like, what the fuck is Kenny doing? Put your cameras.

Speaker 3 (10:51):
Oh man, bread taking bread taking stuff man? And I
think you know, NeXT's assembly brop. All the sets are up.
The first time we see Michael, Kevin, Terrence, and Sam, right,
so you get an eye fi right, No, but the
first day Taraji wasn't at the house, correct, right, So
we get these four and you're just seeing this overwhelming chemistry.

Speaker 2 (11:13):
Right.

Speaker 3 (11:13):
So then you know we go back because I remember
Taraji did the Claremont and then she was off on
something else and she came back. And the first time
she came back it was at the house in the assembly, right,
and you know Kevin, I've seen Kevin and Regina. Oh
I thought that was my favorite combination. I really thought

(11:35):
that they were just so much and they are and
I can't wait to see him another film, and maybe
it would be one of our right, you like that
pitch we're pitching, hear me now? But Taraji and Kevin Bro,
I mean it's almost like in mind you, everybody who's
listening to this, this is serious acting. There's some funny shit,

(11:58):
but these two together and again it's more props to you, keV.
I'm I believe, I've been believed. I've been a supporter.
But Bro, you're gonna get a war for Chicken Man.
He's going to We don't know he's going to. But
them together is so dynamic and mind you, ladies and gentlemen,
she's the side piece. How did you feel about that

(12:18):
first day on assembly when we were in the house.

Speaker 4 (12:21):
I mean that was crazy too, because you know, I've
been in the real house and so again, Tony, the
way that you know now you feel like you're walking
back into this place right just again, well, you know
i'd seen them day one with Adkins Saint Claremontia exactly
and by the way, at some point and I think
this has already happened, Will puts me on the phone
with Tarachi because t is like, hey, I just want

(12:43):
to you know, kick.

Speaker 1 (12:44):
Back a little bit, get a little fit. So that
was cool. Now it's like she wants to know more
about the character. Yeah, and just again it's like about,
by the way.

Speaker 3 (12:50):
This time, Jeff is on my head about pitching her
about another project. So it was so I was so
happy that you had, yeah, go ahead.

Speaker 4 (12:57):
So but but I'm just saying, so now I gotta
kind of speak with Tara, and she's kind of lists
a way, you know, just to get to brainstorm for
a couple of minutes. She might have taken something whatever.
But that was just cool because now first time, you know,
it's Tarazi blah blah blah.

Speaker 1 (13:08):
But now we got to talk ten fifteen minutes.

Speaker 4 (13:09):
You know, I was like, hey, TROGI this is kind
of what you know, in my mind, I was thinking,
you go with whatever, but let me give you a
feel or what this looked like. So she's like, oh,
a couple of good times, like hey, I might be
able to use somebody. So just to watch her kind
of you know, go through it. Yeah, and haven't talked
to her.

Speaker 3 (13:23):
I mean, you gotta imagine like you've known this character
in your mind and several different versions of scripts and storytelling,
and now you get to actually tell her about the
original person and she goes and nails it and just
watching again her and Kevin just great, Kim.

Speaker 4 (13:38):
And it was kind of funny though, because again they're friends.
So sometimes I could see keV like trying to whatever
make and Tarji just pushed it.

Speaker 1 (13:47):
Like fool, get it up.

Speaker 2 (13:48):
Of exactly, you can't say it, but she'd be like
Nigga flee.

Speaker 4 (13:51):
Yes, and so to me, But to me, I'm I'm
just like watching because you know, again, Kevin's a big star,
but they're years they.

Speaker 2 (14:00):
Should have watched like a love song. And I remember
you called me and that was a little.

Speaker 1 (14:07):
Where I was like, I can't like it's.

Speaker 3 (14:12):
Mother, but I love you know the fact that their chemistry,
you know, came to life.

Speaker 2 (14:20):
Man.

Speaker 3 (14:20):
And again I'm saying these pairings of my personal favorites.
I'm telling you you never knew you needed Sam in
Tears together. You never knew you needed Taraji and Kevin together,
you know what I mean. And Michael man Atkins, I
think they're like superheroes in their own right.

Speaker 2 (14:36):
In his storytelling, right.

Speaker 3 (14:37):
So Atkins plays a bit of a middle man throughout
the whole thing. Silky right silk, and he had this
perm y'all. Can I just tell you about this and
it you know, he wore it so well to take
shots of the hair crew, Davis Man, all of them, right,
And I just feel, you know that at the end

(14:59):
of the day, it looks so real. I felt like
walking into the the wig salon every day. And everybody
said this too, by the way, Jeff, Once they put
those wigs on, it was these new people. I know,
when I put my wig on, it was a whole
nother thing. I became my father. And then you know

(15:20):
David Banner his wig, loved his wig. But you would
see these wigs lined up and they would just come
to life. These characters put these wigs on and became
exactly what we've always needed to see. And this story
tell us. And you know, I wanted to give a yeah,
and I want to give a I was about to
say that what was my OG's name? He was seventy two,
he remembers back in the day too, you know the

(15:41):
hit costume again. First of all, he looked like a vibe.
He just came with the tight scarf around his neck
with the shirt down to.

Speaker 1 (15:50):
Every time I saw him, I was just I felt
the same way.

Speaker 3 (15:53):
And let me tell you a funny story. Because you
don't know the story, I don't think. So when you call,
you kept calling me. You know you got to get fitted,
you know, you gotta get your clothes. And I'm on
the road or something. I'm like the last person to
get their wardrobe right. And Ignacio was like, YO, can
meet me third floor. And he's like, I got a

(16:14):
couple of things for you. So he pulled these things
and you know me, if I see it, it's it.
So the like three things they pulled, He's like, Kenny,
I'm sorry, it's not a lot left.

Speaker 2 (16:22):
You know.

Speaker 3 (16:22):
You know, if you have anything you could wear, I say, yeah,
I have Chelsea's you know I can put on because
I have a two inch Chelsea which I end up
wearing in the scene. And I have some beil bobs.
I mean, I can really pull it off. I got
some peak of pel things that you know, I have
it if you need me to bring it. And this
girl came out of the back with my outfit right
that I ended up choosing, and I was like, that's it,

(16:43):
you know. And when I tell you they didn't have
to edit anything, they didn't have to edit the waist,
the length, the length of the arm that fit me,
like I was supposed to be in this suit. Can
I tell you just for me? Because you know, everyone
dreams of having a project that you could actually being.

Speaker 2 (17:01):
You know what I mean.

Speaker 3 (17:02):
I'm in the fucking thing. I'm in the project of
cat Daddy people.

Speaker 4 (17:08):
This is the project of projects and get ready profess
it's lights.

Speaker 2 (17:14):
I love that you curve.

Speaker 1 (17:15):
I'm just saying, they don't know. Even my mom walked up.
We'll get to too, but my mom walks up the
chase like people just don't know.

Speaker 2 (17:22):
They don't know. They don't.

Speaker 3 (17:32):
Big show to again, Wheel Pack of Productions and Heartbeat
Productions and Peacock Man. Because this costs some money. Yeah,
and I didn't realize that. Yeah, I didn't realize put
the amount of money I put it up at this cost.
And so I want to say them out, Oh, I
want to say them. You want to hear the amount,
don't you.

Speaker 1 (17:51):
We're not going to say the Yeah, we're gonna say that,
We're not going to say the amount.

Speaker 4 (17:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (17:55):
One hundred million.

Speaker 1 (17:56):
We don't even know that now, I know, I know,
all right, you say the number.

Speaker 2 (18:00):
I don't think I just said the number, okay.

Speaker 3 (18:03):
And I'm telling you it looked like I mean, imagine
teleporting Yah to nineteen seventy in Atlanta, Georgia, one of
the most formidable cities in the world that has prided
themselves on construction and building. This team eighteen put it
in the seventies, and I and come on, you didn't

(18:27):
know any You know it was a big budget, but
you didn't know what was being spent.

Speaker 2 (18:31):
You didn't know. But then you think, see you start
to calculate.

Speaker 4 (18:34):
Yeah, when I'm trapped in the rows of costumes and
kick it like the maze, Kenny, give me out.

Speaker 2 (18:40):
Of our sound stages.

Speaker 4 (18:41):
At one time, we have the minipis and other sound
stages for holding areas for five hundred extras.

Speaker 1 (18:46):
I go over there. They get a whole other stuff crazy.

Speaker 3 (18:49):
And people don't realize, like catering the trucks, trailer catering.

Speaker 1 (18:54):
Okay, you want to get to that.

Speaker 3 (18:55):
You ate there every time we are said, my goodness,
and you're telling me to come. I'm going because big
out assembly to have an amazing food center, and you know,
I like my turkey rap on my whatever, and so
I'm going there. He's like, no, Kenny, you have to
come to catering. I go to catering and it's a
five course fucking amazing that's going on. I'm like, and so,

(19:16):
I mean, you see things. I've been on video shoots
and we've had catering, but this is full on chef shit.

Speaker 1 (19:22):
It was good vegan option, which I loved.

Speaker 2 (19:26):
Yes, yes, every day, every day and now I'll never forget. Though.

Speaker 3 (19:29):
We were on assembly one day and I got to
get to Don Cheeto really quickly before we end this episode.
But I was on set one day and you were
somewhere and I was like, I gotta grab something, so
I go follow your lead. I'm not going to go
to the cafe today. I'm going to catering. Why was
it a whole other person's catering, the whole nother movie
being shot on a lot. I'm in that motherfucker. It's Mexican,

(19:50):
and I love Mexican food. I'm taco tout. I got
all the things, but ladies and gentlemen. I you know,
Don Cheatle's first day on set and I want to
give testimony because I'm waiting to meet him, you know me, I'm.

Speaker 2 (20:05):
On set before he gets there. I got to meet
Don Cheeto.

Speaker 3 (20:09):
And I'm literally bro like I've met everybody in the world,
but Don Chee in my life, you know what I mean.

Speaker 2 (20:17):
And so I'm like, I gotta meet this guy. I
meet him.

Speaker 3 (20:19):
He's so timid, yes, and I'm just I just watched
what's the hit that was on showtime. I'm used to
pe d Green, like I'm used to that character he
played on the Truth, and I'm like, how you doing?

Speaker 2 (20:30):
Yeah, you know what I mean.

Speaker 3 (20:32):
So he's like, I'm good, brother, I'm getting into you know,
the thing and this that and the third it's you know,
he's kind of got this whole little you know what
I'm saying that, And I'm like, okay, mout man, let him,
let me let him get into character.

Speaker 2 (20:41):
Right.

Speaker 3 (20:42):
So I go into the courtroom scene this particular scene,
you know, Kevin is, you know, about to go to jail.
Basically chicken man is about to go to jail. And
I see him brilliantly do his his lines.

Speaker 2 (20:58):
But then after the line, Jeffy kept asking everybody how
he did. I'm like moyther fucker you done shit? Like,
what do you mean? How did you do? How was
it for you?

Speaker 3 (21:09):
Because you know when you when you meet these superheroes,
you don't really know who they are, and to see
him so and it wasn't timid in the form of weak.
It was timid in the form of like very patient,
very methodical, you know, getting into characters, you know, surveying
the scene very yeah, being very very premeditated in a way. Right,

(21:30):
and as we started shooting more his personality, you know
what I mean, because I remember this one day assembly.
I was Kevin was fucking with him the entire time,
by the way, and by the way, I've nevertheless no,
it was no, but it was almost like a bully,
like Kevin was like and but it's comedy and they
have their thing. But it was like, oh my god,

(21:52):
like I've never seen I would never speak to done, That's.

Speaker 2 (21:54):
What I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (21:55):
Yes, So so if all the four, like you said,
you know again, there was this allure. It's Sam, It's
Kevin Charck, but don from me again, just because that
was the guy at the beginning and just somebody I
looked up, you know what I mean.

Speaker 1 (22:07):
So day one.

Speaker 3 (22:08):
Like you said that on the last episode, I never
knew that Don was even in.

Speaker 2 (22:13):
You know, a part of the conversation.

Speaker 4 (22:14):
And in my mind, it's beautiful chicken man, like you know,
a testimony. So I go there the first day that
I'm able to see him. You're coming later, and I'm
sitting with Will and everybody like that. And so at
some point they're like, hey, you know, do you want
to go? Like he's finished, you got some time? So
Will takes me up to meet Done. And so there's
a couple other people, but I'll never forget it. So
we're in this tent. You're there too. I got a picture,

(22:35):
and at some point Don, like you know, turns me
and we make the introductions. He's like this guy, and
so Don starts quoting from the podcast JD. Okay, and
so this is again the probably the first and only
out of body. So I'm having a conversation with Don,
but I'm not talking to Don. I'm in my head
and I'm thinking, is that is Don Cheetle talking to you?

Speaker 2 (22:57):
Okay?

Speaker 4 (22:57):
So I'm talking to myself right now, and so I
so now he's quoting the podcast, yeah, and to myself,
I'm like, is Don Cheeto quoting our podcast back to it?
So I'm not talking to Don yet And at some
point and some point in my mind, I say to myself, dude,
don Cheeto's talking to you like you need to like
so finally I'm able, but I'm just like, what the fuck?

(23:19):
So that threw me off a little because again he's
quoting the podcast of JD because that's his character to me.
And at some point I snap out of it and
there's Canny and there's Will Oh, it's Don chingo us, Oh,
thank you.

Speaker 2 (23:30):
You know, we have a go.

Speaker 4 (23:31):
And then I'm able to like at some point like
but but that threw me a little bit for a loop,
that first one.

Speaker 2 (23:36):
But I think it was you know, you're you're and
I think Dame.

Speaker 4 (23:40):
A little bit was like the podcast was cool, Like
so I'm like, it's just hard.

Speaker 3 (23:44):
But that's what ignited everything, right, So first of all,
it's them honoring your work. You should be very proud
of that. And then two it was a fucking fish
out of water moment for you. It's like, Okay, I
did this because I felt I had to. Now we're
on set, Don Cheato's telling me about the things that
I told him.

Speaker 4 (24:04):
The character that he's playing the real So it's like
I met the real JD. He's quoting the real j
back to me and his lines. I'm like, what the fuck?
This is like crazy.

Speaker 3 (24:12):
And that's the genius of Don Cheato because unlike some
of the other actors, he literally became j D.

Speaker 2 (24:22):
And because Chicken.

Speaker 3 (24:23):
Man as Red in your early meetings with him, like
Kevin had to bring Chicken Man to life, because you
didn't get Chicken Man, you got Red. But this is
the genius of these people that we're dealing with. And
that's why when I look at this story man, and
I look at all these integral moments that we're now
sharing with the Fight Night Nation people that have followed

(24:45):
the podcast that are into the limited TV series film.

Speaker 2 (24:48):
Because this is a limited deaf serious film.

Speaker 3 (24:51):
It's a testimony of staying down and fucking finishing. We
finished yet, Yes, as a matter of fact, we're finishing
with episode three.

Speaker 1 (25:07):
From iHeart Radio and Doghouse Pictures.

Speaker 2 (25:10):
This is Fight Night
