Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to Dudes on Dudes.

Speaker 2 (00:01):
I'm Julian Edelman and I'm Rob Gronkowski and this is
the show where your favorite dudes talk about their favorite dudes.

Speaker 1 (00:08):
And today we're previewing the Patriots Verse Jets Thursday Night
Football Extravaganza on Amazon, and our guy, Robbie G is
signing a one day contract to retire a Patriot, and
we get to go over that. Robbie G. Congratulations on

(00:29):
the one day contract. I just watched from the West
Coast your little speech and mister Kraft RKK talk about you,
and you just come off. You come off awesome, and
that's how you were as a teammate. You did unbelievable.
I was going down memory lane just listening to you
talk and the selflessness that you have, How you talked

(00:53):
about the fans, how you talked about teammates, how you
talked about the perspective you've learned since you've grown up,
and how you needed what we went through. It just
comes off as awesome. You're the Gronk and you're a
fucking superhero and I feel like I'm I feel lucky
to get to talk with the Gronk.

Speaker 3 (01:13):
Thank you, Jules. I appreciate that. Man.

Speaker 2 (01:15):
It's an honor just hearing those words from you. And
it's been a heck of a day. I started off
on the k Adams Show, talked about, you know, retiring
as a patriot, what this means to me. I had
many great memories I got to share on that show.
And then I went right from the k Adams Show,
hung up the Zoom Call, and I went right over
to Gillette Stadium and Boom went up to our kk's office,

(01:37):
had a great conversation with him. I actually got to
meet Coach Rabel for the very first time in my career.
Well I met him one other time, but it was
literally for five seconds, so it didn't really count. And man,
shaking that guy's hand and bringing it in like you know,
when you wap up someone, you bring it in like
just to feel, just to feel Coach Rabel just how
strong he is and how powerful he is is special

(02:00):
and that probably projects, you know, as a head coach
for him that he ain't messing around to his players.
And I see why he has so much success because
when you're that jack and that's drawn still, players are
going to be scared of you and they're going to
listen to you, that's for sure. But it was just
such a special day.

Speaker 3 (02:16):
It really really was.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
You know, it just an honor to just go back
into the Patriots building and just to see so many
media members that I've seen before that are still there,
that are still writers, you know, for the Patriots, writers
for the magazines and the newspapers around here, and just
to have our KK there. Jimbo, the head trainer was there.

(02:40):
I mean, how many stories do we have with Jimbo? Man,
it was just very very special. Camille was in the house,
and speaking about Camille, we were talking to our KK
right after, and he's the one who brought us together.
I mean, without the Patriots organization, without the cheerleaders, without
me getting picked to.

Speaker 3 (02:59):
Be a I would have never met Camille either.

Speaker 2 (03:02):
I mean, there's just so many memories that are getting
brought back up, and just so many awesome memories. You know,
it's bringing a tear to my eye every once in
a while, but it's just so awesome to relive these memories,
you know, just going back there and being able to
talk about them as well.

Speaker 1 (03:18):
Man, well, you handled it awesomely and it's fun for everyone.
Like these little ceremonies and these little things of all
of our past teammates and you know, the Tom Brady
day to this day to that day. They're just if
you pick up on a new memory every time that
you really do.

Speaker 3 (03:39):
Pick up on a new memory, you know.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
And what's wild is like you can be at the bar,
you can be at a restaurant and someone would ask
you for like your best Patriot memory, you know, your
best football memory, and like at that moment, like it
doesn't really pop up to your mind, but like coming
back to Gillette Stadium, man, I was firing off memories

(04:01):
left and right, like everything was just coming back to me.
And that's what makes this day so special is that
it brings it out in you once again. Like I
was like, okay, I'm signing a one day contract. But
then once I started doing it, once I got in
the office, signed the contract with RKK right there on
the spot too, which I never did. That was the
first time I've ever really sat down and took a

(04:21):
picture signing a contract, which.

Speaker 3 (04:23):
Is kind of cool. You always see pictures of it,
So I finally got to do that.

Speaker 1 (04:26):
The new thing. Everyone takes a picture of the contract,
wouldn't like that back in the day. Go ahead.

Speaker 2 (04:31):
Really cool about this is this is a full circle moment,
you know, Jules. First off, my career started here. I
got drafted here to the New England Patriots. It needed
to end here.

Speaker 3 (04:40):
The whole Grunk persona, my whole career, my whole football
you know, you know, resume persona is basically based here
in New England.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
This is where it all started. So this is where
it all needed to end. But we wouldn't have had
this day if it wasn't for Susan Hurley and Susan
Hurley just passed away. Rest in peace, Susan, and she
just passed away a couple weeks ago, about two weeks ago,
on November one, And she's the reason why there is

(05:10):
the Grunk Playground. She's the reason why I actually had
the one day contract today because r KK and I
were planning on doing the one day contract when I
was going into the you know, Patriots Hall of Fame
in the future. So with Susan Hurley bringing it up
that it would mean a lot to her to see
me sign a one day deal and retire as a Patriot,

(05:33):
you know, r KK and I looked at each other
on the opening day of the Grunk Playground, and we said,
that's a great idea, you know, we should make a
day out of that instead of waiting until the Patriots
Hall of Fame. And then we came to this date,
you know, primetime game Thursday night versus the Jets. So
it couldn't have been a more full circle moment. And
for Susan Hurley rest in peace. She's looking down. She's

(05:55):
with us. She was a Patriots cheerleader way back in
the day. She's gonna be here with us. She was
here with us today and she'll be at the game
as well tomorrow looking down on us.

Speaker 3 (06:04):
So it couldn't have been any better.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
And for what r KK did setting this up for me, man,
the energy is great and the game atmosphere is going
to be even better.

Speaker 1 (06:13):
Are you doing the lighthouse?

Speaker 2 (06:14):
So, Jules, I will be doing the lighthouse. Well, first
I was talking to Stacy. I was like, Stacy, bro
we can't go too big, Like you know, I got
to go in the Patriots Hall of Fame one day, Wike.
That's when we you know, send the fireworks and you know,
and let off the pazukahs and the rocket launchers. But like,
we got to do at least something, a little little something.
So we decided to do the press conference that I

(06:36):
just finished up with, and then I'm going to ring
the bell, you know, I'll be the keeper of the light.
I'll be ringing the bell in the lighthouse before the game,
which looks kind of cool. I saw Mark Wahlberg do it.
You did it, Jules correct?

Speaker 3 (06:48):
How was it? Can you explain to me? Can you
give me some tips?

Speaker 1 (06:51):
It's cool, you know what. I think it's going to
be even cooler at night the night game tonight. It'll
be cool. And it was also a little too warm
for me up there. I wanted to feel the fridge.
I want the frigidness of Fox Burrow, you know, and
at night, like that's why you have the lighthouse. It's
for nighttime. So this is gonna resonate even more because

(07:14):
that ain't a fucking ship coming. That ain't a ship coming.
You know what that is. That's a fucking Patriots. That's
a Patriots coming from fucking four ninety five taking the
goddamn one right up into Foxborough. And that's what the
new lighthouse does. I think it's gonna Resonnate Way better
at night. So I'm really excited for you to do it.

(07:34):
I think you know the daytime in September, September they
lose to the Steeler. I don't like September. Shit, we
all know football don't start until fucking Thanksgiving, and this
is close to Thanksgiving.

Speaker 3 (07:48):
Oh, so I will be giving a little speech at halftime.
I wouldn't say a speech. I would just say I'm
gonna I'm going to.

Speaker 2 (07:55):
Address the crowd pretty quickly at halftime and then and
then I'm gonna save the speech. Jules, you gave a
great speech at your Patriot Hall of Fame, but that's
when you know you can get really into details and
thank everyone. But I'm just gonna address them real quick,
and I'm gonna hit them hard though.

Speaker 3 (08:12):
I'm gonna hit them real hard.

Speaker 2 (08:13):
And then I'm going to introduce the band that's playing
in a country band that actually am friends with and
bed friends with for a while, Low Cash. So that's
gonna be pretty special. But Jules, I got to ask
you something. I am going to address the crowd, Like
I just said, what shall I say? Like I need
I need to give like a fricking a one hitter
that just gets everyone going, like, what do you think

(08:35):
should be my opening line tomorrow night.

Speaker 1 (08:38):
I'm sure whatever you come up with, it'll be perfect.
All you gotta do is whatever you say. All you
gotta do is spike something at the end, and it's
gonna fucking blow the place up. Place is gonna erupt.
We just got to spike something something, you know, and
you come up with some gronk saying you'll be good.

Speaker 3 (08:54):
There we go.

Speaker 2 (08:55):
I like that that you're engraving that in my mind.
I gotta spike something because something. Kay brought that up
on her show today too. She goes like, you gotta
end with like a spike or something, and that wasn't
even engraved in my mind.

Speaker 3 (09:07):
So now you're saying it. Ca said it. So I
gotta spike something at halftime, no doubt.

Speaker 1 (09:12):
Yes, Fiesta in there everyone, you know, maybe that's my
opening line.

Speaker 3 (09:17):
I just grab.

Speaker 1 (09:17):
I mean, we are going to Madrid this weekend. We're
going to Madrid this weekend. H raah, hey Joels, that's
how I should started off.

Speaker 4 (09:25):
Ora Yo, So I fiest and then the whole place
he erupts and I start dancing and party and then
I address them a little bit and introduced low cash.

Speaker 3 (09:36):
Hey, that might be the play in.

Speaker 1 (09:38):
Spirit of the halftime show going on at the UH
the super Bowl. I mean, we got to get people
used to Spanish. And yes, what better way to do
it than have old Robbie g the Big gron speak Spanish.

Speaker 2 (09:52):
And now you're thinking, now you're thinking, Jules, and I
keep it easy. I keep it basic. So that's how
you want to first learn. You can go to in
depth trying to learn it.

Speaker 1 (10:01):
And you got to learn the swear words, the food words,
and and and then and then a couple verbs and
we're good, okay, And then you put those together and
then we all enjoy the halftime show because Gronk's gonna
teach us Spanish at halftime.

Speaker 2 (10:15):
Yes, I love it. That's why I asked you that question,
j was. I knew you would have some good answers
for me. That's actually my that's actually my little secret
is like I don't really come up with a lot
of my stunts.

Speaker 1 (10:26):
You know I do, Yeah, you do.

Speaker 2 (10:28):
I do, actually, but like beforehand, like for an example,
like walking out with uh the country singer that I
walked out with this year again, Morgan Wall, I just
went blank a little bit. I'd spent a long day.
I went through the car wash up at Patriot Place.
My bad, Morgan Wallan. I'll never forget that again. But

(10:48):
I I was talking to my friends before I did
the little walkout and he's like, Yo, this is what
you gotta wear.

Speaker 3 (10:55):
We found that jersey the guitar. He's like, you gotta
spike the guitar.

Speaker 2 (11:00):
And like half of it was kind of already pre
planned and then the other half was just a freelance
and just came up with it right on the spot
as well. So got to always go in. That's what
we learned from Coach Belichick. That's what we learned from
the Patriots is you got to go in with a
game plan, but you also got to learn how to adjust.
You just got to be prepared. And I swear I'll
be caring with me for the rest of my life.

(11:22):
What I learned throughout my career here in New England,
all the way from the top, you know, from mister
Kraft giving back to the community, all the way to
the coaching staff, and then all the way to my
teammates as well. So that's why I feel like I'm
so prepared and I was so prepared for the next
life after football, was because I had such great people
around me the whole entire time. And you just pick up,

(11:44):
you know, tricks and traits from everyone and you imply
that into your life as well.

Speaker 1 (11:48):
All right, that's that's, that's that's growing right there, baby, like.

Speaker 3 (11:53):
You relentless dude. Relentless dude.

Speaker 2 (11:55):
You never gave up, brother, and you wanted it more
than anyone. And I think about that all the time.
Time is if I want something, Well, what did Jewles do?
Like he wasn't a top pick, he didn't have every
opportunity in the book, But what did he do? He
was relentless, He never stopped, he never gave up. He
made sure that he was seeing because you only get
seen when you perform. So you made sure you were

(12:16):
seen so you would go out there and perform and
bring more juice to the table than anyone else whoever
was in front of you.

Speaker 3 (12:22):
So I think about you for doing that, and boom,
I imply that into my life. Then. So, Jules, thank
you for what I learned from you as well.

Speaker 1 (12:29):
Well, thank you for you being you, because you taught
me how to have some kind of fun because I'm
a miserable fuck in the locker room sometimes. Before we
move on to Thursday night football preview, Jets Pats, last
thing about Patriot Day, last thing about this last day,
thing about the contract, Robbie G I'm gonna do my

(12:52):
Tom Ronaldi, what does it mean to you to retire
a Patriot?

Speaker 2 (13:00):
Well, mister Ronaldi Edelman, it means a lot to me.
It actually means everything to me. And this day is
becoming more special as the day goes on, and it's
meaning more and more to me of just how beloved
I feel, you know, all the love I'm getting, not
just from fans, but from the whole entire organization, from

(13:20):
my ex teammates, from RKK and his family man, and
it just makes total sense to just retire a Patriot.
My career started here, it needed to end here. The
whole grand persona you know, became so big here in
New England. The fans, you know, just let me be
myself for real. Without the fans, none of this would

(13:43):
have been possible, Jules, because I was literally you saw
me from the beginning like it wasn't like I was
doing things out of my persona to become likable. You know,
I was just doing things because that's like what I
was doing, and it just grew and grew and fans
love and I didn't even really notice sometimes the fans
were loving it so much. Like I always wanted to

(14:03):
spike a football, boom, they took it to a whole
other level. The Gronk spikes a thing. No one could
spike a football as hired as Gronk, and I'm like,
I just wanted to spike a football, you know, But
the fans took it to a whole nother level.

Speaker 3 (14:15):
And that's why I.

Speaker 2 (14:16):
Appreciate them, and that's why I always want to give
love back to them as well. And also Boston will
always be a home forever. The New England area will
always be a home forever. And that's why when I
first retired as a Patriot, I wanted to give back
to the city of Boston. And that's why there's the
Gronk Playground. Yes, it took five six years to finally
you know, have it, you know, open, but it was

(14:38):
it was a moment and there was a reason behind
it as well, why it took so long, And everything
came together this year and we wouldn't be here without
giving I really wouldn't be here. Put it this way,
this is when you know, giving back always comes back
as well.

Speaker 3 (14:52):
You get rewards too, because.

Speaker 2 (14:54):
That playground is the exemplifies the reason why I had
the one day contract today because I already told that
story with Susan saying that, well, guess.

Speaker 3 (15:04):
What giving back to the community.

Speaker 2 (15:06):
Building a one point eight million dollar playground through the
Grunt Nation Foundation, you know, laid the groundwork for today
and gave me the platform for today and the special
moments to retire as a Patriot. So that just shows
when you give back, the reward always comes back as well.

Speaker 1 (15:24):
It's perfectly perfectly said Roberto.

Speaker 3 (15:29):
Thank you, Jules.

Speaker 2 (15:29):
I appreciate all the questions, man, and I wouldn't be
here without you either.

Speaker 3 (15:34):
I mean, we all wouldn't be here. I mean it's
not just you, it's not just you know, Coach Ballichick,
It's not just Tom, it's not Nikovich.

Speaker 2 (15:41):
Hoyer was there as well. I told the story about Hoyer.
He's the one who started my career because I was
basically a second teamer coming in. I mean I was
a first teamer as.

Speaker 3 (15:49):
Well with LG.

Speaker 2 (15:50):
Crumpler, but like I had to play with the second teamer.
But Tom kind of got the trust in me because
he saw Hoyer throw that scene to me in the
second preseason game of the year versus Atlanta, and I lost.
The guy jumped up and caught it and scored a touchdown,
and Tom was jealous of Hoyer throwing me that touchdown
path so Tom threw me to the next week, you know,
versus Saint Louis Rams, when I dragged Laurenias's WWE ass,

(16:15):
who's the w W champion of the world, drag his
ass in the end zone. I'm a rookie and I'm
freaking the stone Colt Stunner and the rock Bottom out
people's elbow at the same time and dragged them into
the end zone for five yards with the mohawk on
from my rookie haircut. Babyc look at all these memories.
I couldn't think of all these memories if I was

(16:36):
just chilling. It's because of the one day contract.

Speaker 1 (16:39):
The one day contracts.

Speaker 5 (16:41):
Man.

Speaker 1 (16:42):
We'll be right back after this quick break. Well, let's
jump into this preview.

Speaker 3 (16:48):
Let's do it. Let's do it.

Speaker 1 (16:50):
Let's let's jump into New England Jets Thursday Night Showdown
on Amazon and their their debut and their new their
new unis what are they called the Easter Nor'easters? And
they got they sent me a little box. This is
actually this is a clean hat.

Speaker 3 (17:09):
It's really clean. I really love the colors.

Speaker 2 (17:11):
It's kind of like the color Rush jerseys in a
similar way, but different colors. And I hope it kind
of snows tomorrow, at least drizzles, because those jerseys are
meant for the snow. They would look fire in the snow.
For they would look fire in the snow. It's really
cold up here. It was breezing with some drizzles yesterday
and it's about thirty degrees and windy, so if there

(17:33):
are some clouds in the sky, you will definitely see
some snow, especially at nighttime tomorrow night for this game.
But I'm excited for it, man, I'm really excited for it.
We're going versus Jets. We got to take care of business.
Look at those bad boys. I'm getting a care package tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (17:48):
This thing's pretty cool. But I don't the last time
they wore a different UNI. Didn't they lose?

Speaker 3 (17:55):
What was it?

Speaker 1 (17:56):
What it did? What would they wear?

Speaker 3 (17:57):
They wore some steelers?

Speaker 2 (17:59):
Was it the oh, it's the red Patriot throwback jerseys,
which are super dope, super dope. But Jules, that was
the beginning of the year that needed to happen, Like,
you got to go through those bumps and bruises in
order to become the team that you need to be.
It couldn't be all smooth saling for coach Rabel's first year,
Ain't no doubt about that. Guess what, they went through

(18:20):
it early, and they made those mistakes and they corrected
them and that's why they're on the path that they're
on now.

Speaker 3 (18:27):
And they're eight and two.

Speaker 1 (18:28):
So one in ten, what are the unis from one
to ten? Give it a rate rate ten being fucking insane.

Speaker 2 (18:38):
I mean to me, they're pretty freaking insane. I'm going
to give them eight point seven right now. You know
that just makes sense. But I really think they are
right around that number on the scale of rating a uniform.

Speaker 3 (18:53):
But there'll be a ten out of ten.

Speaker 2 (18:56):
If it snows tomorrow night thirty and they and it.

Speaker 3 (19:00):
Goes to a town. You got to give them. You
got to give them room for improvement.

Speaker 1 (19:04):
I tell you right now, those unis with the red
stickies as a pop color. If I have my solid reds.
With those, it would look kind of fire. I'm gonna
go eight point one one.

Speaker 2 (19:13):
Oh, Jeel's getting creative. We both got our Jersey's numbers.
What are you talking about? I just think the integrity.
I don't think it's eight point one two. So I
went to eight point one to one. Let's let's get
into this game. Is this a trap game?

Speaker 3 (19:27):
You know a lot of people are saying that this week, actually,
but everyone said that about Cleveland too. Oh, that's a
trap game. I don't think it's a trap game.

Speaker 2 (19:34):
Why Because the Patriots know how to prepare and you've
seen that on a daily basis. Now, I would say
if they weren't beating the crap out of terrible teams,
like they blew out the Carolina Panthers and they blew
out the who do they play the next week? Was? Oh,
they blew basically blew out Tennessee as well. They're taking

(19:57):
care of the bad teams and they're playing at their
level and not jumping down a level when playing those teams.
And when you can play at that high level, improve it.
You know throughout the year that you're not playing down
a level when you're playing you know, teams that aren't
so great well, and guess what, there's no trap games.
So I believe that they're going to go out there
and dominate the Juts for that reason, because they know

(20:19):
how to prepare and how to play at a high
level constantly and consistently.

Speaker 3 (20:24):
What do you think? What do you think, Jules?

Speaker 1 (20:26):
I think they're in a good pocket right now of progression,
and like, like you said, you can tell that this
team's having good practices. You could tell this team's enjoying improving.
You can tell that they're working on the things that
they're they didn't do well the week before and they're
getting better at it. You know, I've really loved seeing

(20:50):
Travon Henderson jump out and have big game last week.
Why not have your best game going into the final
eight weeks, Like that's when you want to have your
best game.

Speaker 3 (21:02):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (21:03):
They look fast, they look really fast, and they're so
young that I don't think this is a trap game either,
because they're in that pocket. They're too young to really
you know, I think they're I think they're really good
at the quarterback position. Mentally, Drake like wants to learn.
Drake understands that where he is Drake understands he's following

(21:25):
the greatest quarterback of all time. And and he, like
I heard you say, he knows how to answer questions.
And when you interviewed him, it was a parent you know.
He he he he, He reads the room and he
understands his role that everything comes down to him, and
and how he practices and how he leads. And he's

(21:46):
shown weekend and week out that he's getting better as
a leader and and and and he's he's the guy
I think, you know, and it's been fun to watch.
He's he's surpassed what I thought he would be in
the first year with Josh McDaniels. But he's doing it.
So I think because they have that leader on offense

(22:08):
that is a humble kid, that's the young grunt of
a you know, a brother, a bunch of brothers that
you know is skilled. And I think now all that
happens and helps them going forward and how they prepare.
So I think they're gonna beat the breaks off the
Jets tonight.

Speaker 3 (22:24):
Yes, And what else I see about this Patriot teams
right now?

Speaker 1 (22:27):
The breaks off of them. They need to, Yes, they
need to.

Speaker 2 (22:30):
Thursday Night Football in Foxborough the Rockster will be there
ringing there.

Speaker 6 (22:36):
In the stadium halftime performance of me hyping up the crowd,
saying yo, so if he asks all teaching people Spanish,
so everyone understands that when Bad Bunny performs the halftime
show like.

Speaker 3 (22:49):
This is what's up? Toles? But what else I love
about the Patriots?

Speaker 2 (22:54):
They needed explosive plays, That's what people were saying, not
enough close this. Well, guess what three last week? Three
fifty yard explosive plays for the New England Patriots.

Speaker 3 (23:03):
Last week.

Speaker 2 (23:04):
Currently before that, they had one explosive play all the
way dating back to twenty twenty four over fifty plus yards.

Speaker 3 (23:12):
Well, why is this factor in?

Speaker 2 (23:14):
Because it was also three of them last week versus
Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and all three were by both of
their rookies.

Speaker 3 (23:20):
You know, treyvon Henderson's.

Speaker 2 (23:22):
For over two of them for over fifty plus And
then what is it Kyler Williams or Kyle Williams.

Speaker 3 (23:29):
Kyle, Yes, it's Kyle.

Speaker 2 (23:30):
Well keep making explosive plays, and I'll remember that your
name is Kyle, not Kyler. But he's starting to break
through now as well. And these are only rookies, so
to have two rookies to have over three explosive plays
between them over fifty yards is going to give them
that confidence where now they're going to feel like a
vet more, you know, walking around, and that they can

(23:53):
do it and that the coaches trusted in you. And
once a coach trusts in you, boom, you explode even
more and then you're often becomes even more potent. And
now Drake may even has more weapons and more trust
in these guys as they grow. And this is why
they're not falling for the trap because they're confident right
now and they're high flying power offense.

Speaker 1 (24:14):
Yeah, and I think Rabes understands and knows how to
deliver the communication to this team about that. And then
you know we talk about explosion plays on offense. Their
defense only gave up one explosive play last week over
twenty yards. Their defense is number one in defending the run.
Their defense has been very good with Christian Gonzalez back there.

(24:37):
I mean, that's how they're going to be really, really good.
That's how they're going to be I mean the defense,
and then now you've got explosion on the offense. They
got some good special teams going. Have they been making
their field goals. They've been making their field goals. I
think they've been making their field goals. But like their
defense hasn't given up anyone to go what fifty three yards?

(25:00):
No one's rushed for over fifty three fifty five yards
on them all year. That's crazy. And they played by
Jean Robinson, who's electric. Like that's how you establish your
tough That's how you establish yourself as a tough football team.
You got to stop the run, you got to run
the ball. You got to be able to run the ball.
They had one hundred and seventeen yards last week. They

(25:20):
were able to run the ball. We saw the explosion plays.
We saw the explosion plays through Trevon Henderson. They ran
the ball, and you got to be able to cover kicks.
And you know, they're doing pretty well in special teams.
I don't have any stats and I haven't like dived
into it, but we haven't heard any problems either. So
that's a big thing. Like they got a lot of
good stuff going. They just got to continue to show

(25:42):
us that they can continue to do it. You know,
that's that's the next step. That's the These are the steps.
You know, we talk about the steps We can't tell
you what they're going to do, but when they do that,
we just show them. Pats are ninety two percent on
field goals.

Speaker 2 (25:57):
Shout out to our our stat special team guy.

Speaker 1 (26:01):
Who's who Andy Orgodless, orgodless or Godless? Let's go.

Speaker 3 (26:10):
Let's good. Well, he's gonna understand. He's going to understand
me at halftime. I feel like he's Mexican. He's gonna
know what sorry for Yesta means? By goddess? Is he
Latino Miami? We'll take him. Yeah, he knows Spanish. And
also the Patriots.

Speaker 1 (26:30):
Like double too. They stop Dowdell, who's been running out
of everyone. They stop Jenkins, They've stopped some running backs.

Speaker 2 (26:37):
They got Breze Hall, and the only thing that Jets
have right now is a run game that's kind of
decent because of Breeze's Hall. Like they're passing for like
an average of I think like literally ninety yards. Like
it's pretty embarrassing what the Jets have been doing on
the offen side of the ball through the pass game.
So they got a little run game. But the Patriots
stop everyone's run game. So the Jets, I don't think

(26:59):
they're going to score or more than ten points on
Thursday night football. So this is an easy game. You know,
I'm confident in it. I'm very confident.

Speaker 1 (27:07):
Patriots though, and I'm sure Braine's gonna be up up there.
But all week about it. You gotta rush justin Field
is the right way. Can't get past the quarterback, make
him throw the ball, keep him in the pocket, don't
give those gaping lanes for him to take off and
become a problem with his legs, like you know what
I mean. That's the only thing that can make it

(27:27):
go is if Breese Hall has a day, justin Field
starts running all over the place to get a couple
of big explosion plays. Through the history of what we've
been watching with this team, that shouldn't happen. So this
should be a blowout. Let's not play down to the level. Okay,
last week was good for the Jets. They got they
got two wins in a row, off the trades, off

(27:49):
the fire sale the team. But like that, momentum dies
the next week, and it should die against the Patriots tonight.
If it dies, it dies.

Speaker 3 (28:00):
It dies. He must die.

Speaker 2 (28:03):
But speaking of this Thursday night football game, you know
we got Jets versus Patriots. What was it like to
you playing on Thursday night juels, Like, what was your
you know, style of preparation on such a short week.

Speaker 1 (28:18):
I remember playing the Jets a lot early on Thursday
night football early in the year. You know, the Thursday
night games. They were a bitch to get ready for,
especially if you have him later in the season, you're
kind of beat up. We would always have ours early
in the season, but they're a bitch because you don't
get the same preparation, practice time. Everything's kind of walked through.

(28:40):
It's kind of they were a bitch, but they were
also kind of cool, Like you liked that you didn't
have to practice that week, but you didn't like that
you didn't get to practice that week for confidence, but
your body felt better, but then you got a baby
by after it, And I just remember it was always
a little more vanilla of a game plan because it's,

(29:02):
you know, both teams don't have the full week of prep.
You're you're racing against the clock on recovery with players,
uh so you know both. I always remember the plan
always being kind of vanilla, meaning we weren't gonna we
were gonna run the things that we ran well throughout
that part of the season, and we were gonna lean

(29:22):
on that and we were gonna do whatever it took
to just get the win because it's a hard game,
you know. So I just I remember that, but I
always remember being kind of happy afterwards because we got
like a little we got a little time off. It
was like a little baby bye. What about you.

Speaker 2 (29:38):
It was a love hate relationship with Thurstay because it
was a grind.

Speaker 3 (29:41):
It was it was a grind.

Speaker 2 (29:42):
And what I really hated about it is like, like
you wanted that day off. Tuesday's official day off throughout
all of NFL, and having that day off gets you
prepared for for the week. You feel refreshed. Wednesday calms,
You're ready to go. You're ready to you know, you
know game plan this new team walk us. What when
you wake up Monday morning, boom, you go into the

(30:03):
office and that game's already over.

Speaker 3 (30:05):
You don't even.

Speaker 2 (30:06):
Watch them of the game on Sundays Wednesday, Wednesday, and
there's no day off, so you don't feel refreshed or anything.

Speaker 3 (30:12):
So that's the really really tough part.

Speaker 2 (30:14):
I believe, you know, is not being able to have
a day to just clean your mind and get prepared
for the next week.

Speaker 3 (30:21):
But what was so great about it though, as well
as it felt like.

Speaker 2 (30:24):
A mini bye week when the game was over, also
you didn't have a full week of preparation of practicing
at full speed, so you kind of got away with
no practice that week, which is always good sometimes because
your body gets to heal.

Speaker 1 (30:36):
If you have a team that's has the mental capacity
to do that.

Speaker 2 (30:40):
Yes, So it's kind of like you just rehabbing. You're
jogging through routes, you're just flushing your body out from
the Sunday game, you know, and going through the walkthrough,
so you're just ready to go for Thursday night so
you can go full speed then.

Speaker 3 (30:52):
But what you love about it is that mini bye week.

Speaker 2 (30:54):
You got Friday off, you got Saturday off, you got
Sunday off, and then you go in on Monday, you know,
you do a little something, then you start practicing up
again on Tuesday.

Speaker 3 (31:02):
So that MANI bye week.

Speaker 1 (31:03):
No, they would give us the Tuesday off.

Speaker 3 (31:05):
Yeah, you would practice Monday. Actually yeah you would.

Speaker 1 (31:08):
In practice, but like you go do like your film study,
your LYFT run and meeting. Then they give you Tuesday
off and then you do your regular Wednesday Wednesday, wasn't
it kind of like that?

Speaker 2 (31:18):
Yes, it was actually and that that little mini bye
week felt great.

Speaker 3 (31:22):
You loved it so much. So it's kind of a
give and take.

Speaker 2 (31:26):
And I think it's fair because we got John Gruden
who just spoke about Thursday night games and he says
he wants to lead to get rid of Thursday night football.
And to what he exactly said, quote unquote was no preparation,
no time to recover, no chance, get rid of these
Thursday night games.

Speaker 3 (31:45):
Dump them.

Speaker 2 (31:45):
It's not fair to the players, it's not fair to
the coaches. And I agree with coach Grudon in that way,
but I also disagree in ways too, because, like we said,
you love hate it, you know, you know you get
the little extra time off after the game. But it's
also fair. Everyone only has one Thursday night game. Every

(32:08):
team has to do it. You know, every team prepares
the same It's even with the preparation. Everyone has the
same amount of time. Still, and if you're prepared throughout
training camp, you get your team ready. That's what training
camp is for, is preparing your team for the whole
entire season, no matter what is presented to the table.
If it's a short week, if it's a long week,

(32:29):
if it's a bye week, if you have a great
training camp and you install everything you need to install,
these guys show be ready for Thursday nightstill, even with
a shorter week of preparation on.

Speaker 1 (32:40):
It ain't getting rid of it. Thursday football shot.

Speaker 3 (32:45):
When you can just chill them, turn it on TV.

Speaker 1 (32:48):
Now that I'm out. If they didn't have Thursday Night football, like,
what the fuck? We gotta wait till Sunday, Monday to
Sunday and maybe you know, we get Black Friday and
a Wednesday Christmas game. No, okay, you put it on Thursday.
It's been here for freaking ever. Now, if you were
to get rid of it, a the bottom line would
get hit. We would make less money because that's a package.

(33:13):
So then the salary cap will go down, so then
the teams would get a little you know what I
mean that it ain't never getting rid of them. Okay,
they ain't never getting rid of them. It sucked, It hurts.
And what they're gonna do is they're gonna make us
go playing in Europe every year. Now now every team
everyone plays a Thursday night game, and now everyone goes

(33:35):
to Europe. And they played a europe game. And it's
gonna suck for the first five years, just like the
fucking Thursday night games did we all like the old timers,
they hated it. This sucks, we can't but everyone got
used to it. Everyone got everyone started loving it. Even
though we get sometimes shitty matchups on Thursday, it's part

(33:55):
of lifestyle now, it's part of the lifestyle. Thursday night
football is part of American life style.

Speaker 3 (34:00):
Exactly, Jules, you hit it spot.

Speaker 1 (34:02):
Get rid of it. It's making the game bigger. We're
selling the Amazon. I mean, we got so many packages.
It's not even fair. No they if they if they
get less money, the players get less money. If we
want to stop getting rid of the Thursday night football game.
I tell you right now, seeing these non quarterbacks make
fifty million dollars forty million, we wouldn't have those contracts.

(34:25):
We wouldn't have those contracts. So, I mean, yeah, it
sucks and it's hard, but it's hard for everyone. Like
Gronk said, it's fair. Everyone's got to deal with it.
This football. I remember with our coaching staff they'd say, hey,
where do you want us to play? What time you
want us to play? Wherever it is, We'll fucking be there.
We'll be there, and we'll be ready. The big boy

(34:47):
teams know that let's move on.

Speaker 3 (34:49):
Exactly, Let's move on. Let's go Jules.

Speaker 1 (34:52):
Why did the Patriots and Jets hate each other so much?

Speaker 2 (34:55):
I wouldn't say it has to do with anything in
the last decade. I'm going to go go back to
the era of r KK at the beginning the owning
the Patriots. I'm gonna go back to the era of
Coach Belichick, you know, having time spent with the New
York Jets, and then the way it went down, how

(35:15):
he became the head coach for like an hour and
then switched over his allegiance to the New England Patriots
become to become the head coach here. H And also
I believe it has to deal with Bill Parcells. I
believe it has to do with Parcels as well.

Speaker 3 (35:31):
You know.

Speaker 2 (35:31):
So there's a little camaraderie there between the Patriots and
Jets that go way back in like since like two
thousand and that's when that rivalry was really heated up
all the time, you know, because of those reasons and
what went down in all those situations. But the last
like five six years. Man, I don't even think it's
a rivalry anymore. The Jets have just been so bad.

(35:52):
The Patriots been you know, just average the last couple
of years, and now they should just dominate the Jets.

Speaker 3 (35:57):
So I believe in the ARA.

Speaker 2 (36:01):
Two thousand to twenty, like twelve, that's when it was
really particularly like a kind of more of a hatred.

Speaker 1 (36:09):
Well, I think anytime you got Boston New York, it's
gonna be there's gonna be beef. Two similar people that
like completely different things, they're gonna hate each other. So
we were born into that, Like we're more recency biased
with it because that's our generation. But I'm sure you know,
Jets back in the day, Patriots back in the day,

(36:32):
they've hated each other, and that's that just goes I
think the New York, New York Boston relationship in all sports,
like that's that's circled. And we played each other in
the division twice a year, so there's always something. I
don't think it's as big Rex. Ryan was also fun
when he was a coach with those feuds.

Speaker 3 (36:51):
Oh no, he fueled it up, man.

Speaker 2 (36:53):
He gaslighted every single week that when we were playing
the Jets.

Speaker 3 (36:57):
Like he brought the fun too.

Speaker 2 (36:59):
He brought the fun to that rivalry back in the
day with him being the head coach.

Speaker 1 (37:02):
He did I kind of like I would laugh at
it on the on the low, like I know, I'm
not supposed to be laughing at this because I'm a Patriot,
but man, Coach Ryan's kind of funny.

Speaker 2 (37:15):
Yeah, I can't argue with you on that, Jewels, I
see you like coach I did. I did love him,
you know, and his pressers and being in the division.
He brought some juice to the table. And then what
about Welker. You know what about Welker's uh the foot soldiers,
the foot soldiers, Like no one got it.

Speaker 3 (37:34):
No one got it at first, dude, no one got it.
Like Welker was a genius for that play. I was
so creative.

Speaker 2 (37:40):
He destroyed that press conference and he walked away with
not one person understanding what went down.

Speaker 1 (37:46):
And then you know forwards, so good. You know, it's
gonna be a bunch of foot soldiers out there. You know,
we gotta have good feet. He can referencing feet because
that's when Rex Ryan had to foot That came out
so good and like Wes. Wes was a funny little fucker.

Speaker 3 (38:04):
He went there so good.

Speaker 1 (38:06):
Bill benched him for the first drive I got to
start in the playoff game because of it.

Speaker 3 (38:12):
He should have never been benched.

Speaker 2 (38:14):
He actually did bet for that reason, and he should
have never been betched for that reason. Like that was
that was so creative, And it was Rex Ryan he
was talking about, Like Rex Ryan would love that joke, Like,
come on.

Speaker 1 (38:25):
I guarantee Rex.

Speaker 3 (38:28):
Balls off exactly. Like it was so good, It was
so good.

Speaker 1 (38:32):
Those were the times. All right, let's get a prediction
on this what's the Gronks Stormists?

Speaker 3 (38:37):
I think the Gronkas Stormists? I love it.

Speaker 1 (38:42):
What is new name for CROs?

Speaker 3 (38:47):
All right? I got a prediction for this game.

Speaker 2 (38:49):
Everything that we said, well, I love it. Everything that
we said, you know about the Patriots, I think it's true.
I don't think this game is going to get out
of control at all. I think the Patriots are gonna
win this game thirty one, thirty one to ten, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (39:08):
Thirty one to ten. That's you know, it's a Thursday
night game. It's still a tough game. It's still a
division game. I don't think they're gonna I think it's
gonna be like a twenty seven twenty seven to ten,
not as close as what it seemed. Try to get
out of their healthy Now, Hey, they go out and

(39:29):
lose this game with us picking them beating them, that's bad.

Speaker 3 (39:34):
All right, you're going twenty seven to ten.

Speaker 1 (39:36):
I think it's gonna It's not always easy to score
on Thursday night games. You know, sometimes they're kind of
muddy the weather. I don't know what the weather is.
It's still the Jets. They're gonna have some some They're
gonna have some juice, like they would love to come
and rain on our parade. Aaron Glenn was part of
those Jets that were good teams. He played on some

(39:59):
good Jets team. So like, I don't think it's gonna
I think it'll be like twenty seven to ten. It'll
be a close for a second, and then the Patriots
roll off because they're just you're a better team right now.

Speaker 2 (40:09):
Yeah, close first half, and then after the second half,
once I get on the microphone and juice up the crowd,
they're gonna hear me in the locker room, and then
they're come and come out with so much juice and
then blow out the Jets in the third quarter and
fourth and then for some reason, if that doesn't happen
and they win sixty nine, I know that would be
a true tribute to me being there.

Speaker 1 (40:28):
Jewels never gets old, It never gets old.

Speaker 2 (40:33):
I had so the sixty nine jokes started here in
New England. So it's like I said, it's been a
full circle moment. You say, I had to get a
sixty nine joke.

Speaker 1 (40:43):
What was your favorite sixty nine media moment? Oh?

Speaker 7 (40:47):
What?

Speaker 3 (40:47):
I had sixty nine touchdowns.

Speaker 2 (40:50):
It was in Pittsburgh and Mike Reese was like, hey,
you know how many touchdowns you scored now in your
career And I was.

Speaker 3 (40:56):
Like, yeah, sixty nine, Michael Reese. Yeah, And it was just.

Speaker 2 (41:00):
Legendary how it went down and how I set it
right there on the spot. So I scored my sixty
nine touchdown in Pittsburgh and Mike.

Speaker 3 (41:07):
Reese loved it.

Speaker 2 (41:08):
Oh, and he highlighted it as well. And shout out
to Mike reas. I got to see him. He was
there at the press conference. There were so many people there,
Tom Curran, Mike Reaese, we had Karen there as well.
I mean so many people that were there, you know,
covering the Patriots when we were there, Jewels, they were
still there and it was a packed house. Man, it
was really cool. So what a special moment today. It

(41:30):
really was. And it made me on fire when I
got up there on the podium, man, Like some juices
just kick in for me. Man, I'm like a gamer.
Like it's wild, like like I could have a shitty
week of practice, but when the lights are on, you know,
I can just ball out and game.

Speaker 1 (41:44):
We'll be right back after this quick break.

Speaker 2 (41:48):
Julian speaking about my time here in New England and
how special it was. Let's turn the page because we
have another special moment right now and we have a
very special guest coming on. His name is Connor, and
he is from Berkeley, Massachusetts, and we here he's a huge,
huge fan of the pod Dudes on Dudes, and we

(42:10):
want to think make a wish, you know, you know,
we got linked up with Connor and we're going to
have him on right now to talk some ball and
of course give him our patent dude ranking. So let's
get Connor in here, ask him some questions, you know,
let's make his wish and dreams come true. Special guest, Connor,

(42:33):
where are you.

Speaker 7 (42:34):
I think that's Julian Edelman.

Speaker 1 (42:37):
What's going on? Connor? It is Jules?

Speaker 7 (42:41):
Is that actually all?

Speaker 1 (42:43):
Connor?

Speaker 7 (42:44):
Hello? Everybody?

Speaker 2 (42:47):
Connor, Rob Gronkowski here and Julian Edelman. Welcome to Dudes
on Dudes. How you doing, my friend? You're our special
guest here today.

Speaker 3 (43:04):
How you feeling good?

Speaker 1 (43:07):
Are we excited for the Pats and Jets tonight?

Speaker 7 (43:10):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (43:11):
Who's your favorite player?

Speaker 7 (43:13):
Bonkowski?

Speaker 3 (43:14):
Thank you?

Speaker 1 (43:14):
Connor?

Speaker 2 (43:15):
That means a lot to me. Herd you're a huge
fan of mine. Heard you are a huge Patriots fans.
And now, since I'm your favorite player that's retired, who's
your favorite current player that's on the Patriots right now?

Speaker 7 (43:28):
Field?

Speaker 2 (43:32):
Baker Mayfield's on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Speaker 7 (43:35):
I mean Drake may.

Speaker 1 (43:37):
We'll take that. We like Drake may too. How about
we do? We're gonna ask you a series of questions
and we want to determine what kind of dude you are,
like we do on our show to our guests. What
do you think about that?

Speaker 7 (43:50):
It sounds good.

Speaker 1 (43:52):
You're gonna answer quick. We're gonna take some notes, and
then we're gonna determine what kind of dude you'd be
in the locker room. Okay, get your thinking cap on.

Speaker 2 (44:01):
Yes, I'll start off first, Julian, since I'm his favorite
retired player. The first question is who is your favorite
NFL player currently playing in the NFL?

Speaker 1 (44:15):
May Drake May Okay, I like that. I like that.
If you could play any position in the NFL, what
position would it be? Connor?

Speaker 7 (44:25):
The position that Rob Gonkowski played, tight end?

Speaker 1 (44:28):
I like it?

Speaker 3 (44:30):
Answer, great answer.

Speaker 2 (44:32):
And if you could be any kind of animal, what
animal would you be?

Speaker 7 (44:37):
A dog?

Speaker 1 (44:39):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (44:40):
Well, that says a lot about you right there.

Speaker 1 (44:43):
What kind of dog Connor?

Speaker 7 (44:45):
Joan Shephard.

Speaker 1 (44:47):
Oh, I like it, smart kid, tough, tough dog. Those
are police dogs. Those are police dogs. Don't take your
head off. I'll take your head of.

Speaker 2 (44:58):
Those dogs have purpose like you, Connor. Who is your
favorite superhero?

Speaker 7 (45:03):
Spider Man?

Speaker 3 (45:05):
Oh love spider Man.

Speaker 1 (45:07):
Sticky got good hands. Could be a heck of a
tight end or slot receiver. What is your favorite snack? Connor?

Speaker 7 (45:17):
Probably goldfish?

Speaker 3 (45:20):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (45:21):
Who doesn't love goldfish? Those are my favorite too.

Speaker 3 (45:23):
I think that's a that's a throwback right there.

Speaker 2 (45:26):
I actually had goldfish for my first time in about
two years last week in my hotel room.

Speaker 3 (45:32):
So Connor. That was a good choice because I was
eating I'm like.

Speaker 2 (45:35):
Wow, I've been missing out eating goldfish, you know, for
so long.

Speaker 3 (45:39):
So great answer, Connor, great answer. Nice throw.

Speaker 7 (45:43):
My healthy snack is probably oranges.

Speaker 3 (45:46):
Oh that's good.

Speaker 1 (45:48):
God, always have the healthy snack. That is very It's
like a whiz right there, Connor, you got a little
waiz to you like apple slices.

Speaker 3 (45:58):
There you go.

Speaker 2 (45:58):
You gotta get your fruits and veggies in. They're good
for your brain, they're good for your muscles. They're just
good for your health. So good job, Connor.

Speaker 7 (46:06):

Speaker 1 (47:42):
When you have those pieces, do you sometimes pick it

to have your mom cut your meat so you can
eat it faster. Yes, I like it. All right, let

and little cheese action with the goldfish, but he knows

Speaker 2 (52:56):
That was our first patent guests. You know, that was
just a kid, I was a pro athlete or anyone
famous or well known. That was really cool. They have
Connor on here, and what was really special about it
was to grant his wish, you know, through the Make
a Wish Foundation of Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Speaker 3 (53:11):
You know, that's what it's all about.

Speaker 2 (53:12):
And that's why I'm here today, Juli, And that's why
I learned, you know, throughout the Patriots organization, and now
we're bringing it to Our next chapter of our life
is to give back. And we just gave back to
Connor and now we get to bring him. I actually
get to bring him to the game tomorrow. He's gonna
help you ring the bell and that's gonna be We've
We've had plenty of moments like that in our life. Juls,
like to ring our bell and to get us excited. Now,

(53:35):
you know, it's really kind of giving other people that
experience because we've done so much of our life. Now,
what's going to bring the joy tomorrow? Like, yeah, ringing
the bells cool for me, But what's going to make
it even cooler now is having Connor there to do
it with me, because he'll remember it for life.

Speaker 3 (53:50):
Man, this is going to be the biggest moment of
his life.

Speaker 1 (53:52):
Before we get in the next. Dude, I got you
a little present.

Speaker 2 (53:55):
Wait you did, because I got you a little present
as well, Jeels.

Speaker 1 (53:58):
Wait where did you get it?

Speaker 2 (54:00):

a lot, so I went on eBay.

Speaker 1 (54:20):
Man's crazy.

Speaker 3 (54:22):
All right, Let's see what I got.

Speaker 2 (54:23):
Well, this is dangerous for you to give me because
if I don't like this present, I'm not going to
give you your present to you? All right, But I'm
gonna probably like this present, Oh my gosh, are you
kidding me? A thousand piece puzzle and it's a French
bulldog jigsaw puzzle.

Speaker 3 (54:42):
Dude.

Speaker 2 (54:43):
Literally, this couldn't have been a better present. You definitely
do deserve your present now because I was on the
phone with Camille this morning. I knocked out three puzzles
last week and now I was like, I.

Speaker 1 (54:52):
Saw some of the pozzers you're doing. They were a
little big, bro I want to well guess what. Camille
called me and she's like, she's like, what'd you do?
I was like, literally, I sat on the couch with
my hotel room for five hours and just watch football.

Speaker 3 (55:05):
She's like, why don't you.

Speaker 1 (55:06):
Go get a puzzle.

Speaker 2 (55:06):
I was like, I literally thought about it five different
times to go go get a puzzle. And that was
the conversation this morning. And now you just gifted me
a puzzle. And it's not just a puzzle. It's a
puzzle of a French bulldog and I have a French bulldog. Julian,
I love you, man, thank you for this gift.

Speaker 1 (55:21):
No problem. I mean, you can get anything on eBay.

themed it up with the burger Yeah.

Speaker 3 (55:35):

Speaker 1 (55:36):

hit the chill line again.

Speaker 2 (57:10):
That number is five six one two zero three, five
seven eight nine, and keep those calls coming in.

Speaker 3 (57:18):
Let's hit the chill line. This is my favorite. Let's
hear your questions. We got answers.

Speaker 5 (57:23):
Brank Aedel Rex Derek from Detroit. I saw that Tom
Brady cloned his dog. I wanted to ask you, guys,
if Tom Brady could clone his eleven man offense in
terms of the best players from his full career at
each position. Who do you guys think it would be

(57:44):
at each position? Takes a lot of dudes.

Speaker 3 (57:48):
All right, that is a great question. I'm gonna start
it off. I'm gonna be the tight end.

Speaker 2 (57:51):
You're gonna be the slot receiver, Julian, and then fall
back is going to be James Devlin correct. Did he
have any fullbacks or prior to that? No, it's got
to be James Devil.

Speaker 1 (58:00):
He used to be.

Speaker 2 (58:01):
Yeah, James Devlin for sure, most relevant, and he played
with Tom for a while. Offensive line at guy where
one hundred percent gonna have Logan makings, where one hundred
gonna have Matt Light and at the wide receiver position
at number one is going to be Brandy Moss.

Speaker 3 (58:14):
And then who's our center? You got that one? Jules center?
We need center in another guard in another tackle.

Speaker 1 (58:23):
Da, We'll throw d A in there, David Andrews, give
a little there's a bunch of good centers.

Speaker 3 (58:30):
No, let's go yeah, Wen Dal, but let's go with
David Andrews. He just received Andrews.

Speaker 1 (58:34):
Let's throw in great career throwing Steve Neil from the
old teams. Yes, at other guard, right guard, because he
was fucking pro wrestler. He's in there.

Speaker 2 (58:43):
One more tackle Sea Bass or Soldier, Yeah, it would
be Soldier or Sea Bass. Uh, we'll go with We'll
go with Sebastian just because we love.

Speaker 1 (58:52):
And we still have Russ and all the boys from
the old teams. Look, it's gonna be biased to ours team.

Speaker 3 (58:57):
We need a running back. We need a running back.

Speaker 2 (58:59):
Because we got a full back, we got two wide receivers,
and uh, we need just a running back. Now we
got our wholely dealing Corey Dillon. Yeah, that's a good
one because we got to go a throwback.

Speaker 1 (59:10):
What about a third down running back?

Speaker 2 (59:12):
Oh but that he said eleven eleven man offense, that's
twelve then.

Speaker 1 (59:17):
But I mean we have two positions at the running
back position throughout the whole time of the Patriots.

Speaker 3 (59:21):
It would be it would be sweet feet.

Speaker 1 (59:23):
Sweet feet or chamber for third martiall Falk.

Speaker 2 (59:29):
Kevin okay yo, Yeah, let's let's go with Kevin Falk.

Speaker 1 (59:37):
I mean there's so many guys. But first off, have
you met this clone dog yet?

Speaker 3 (59:43):
No? I did not. I met the dog like the
non clone dog.

Speaker 1 (59:47):
I know, I remember the old one.

Speaker 3 (59:48):
Yeah, I mean it was it was a cool dog.
It just relaxed like, didn't do anything.

Speaker 1 (59:54):
Isn't it lua?

Speaker 3 (59:55):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (59:56):
Yeah, I haven't met it either. I'm a little scared.
I got so many questions, so so many questions.

Speaker 3 (01:00:04):
Like like, I got at least twenty questions.

Speaker 1 (01:00:06):
And I use does it have the same personality?

Speaker 3 (01:00:09):
No, that's one thing I hear that it doesn't is
the personality doesn't stay the same, but the looks stay
the same.

Speaker 1 (01:00:14):
So where did the personality come from?

Speaker 3 (01:00:18):
That's why I'm wanting. Where's the bones come from? Where's
the brain cells come from? Where does a brain matter?
Where does the intentionent come from? Where does his his
his freaking hot dog and ball sat come from?

Speaker 2 (01:00:30):
Like?

Speaker 3 (01:00:30):
How how is it all? Forum Jules? A lot of questions,
A lot of questions.

Speaker 1 (01:00:35):
That we do they grow it in another dog? Or
do they grow it into like, uh, what do they
call that? When you're not when the women do it
now where they don't have the baby, they surgate? Do
we have surgate? Does it have half the genes of
the dog they're putting it in or does it have.

Speaker 3 (01:00:53):
All the genes?

Speaker 1 (01:00:55):
So is this strange? Jurassic Park? From and from my shine,
Tom Jurassic Bark.

Speaker 2 (01:01:03):
My scientific knowledge and smartness is that they take or
make that embryo in a lab and then implant it
into a surrogate dog. Is from my understanding of scientific
knowledge of how this clone happens.

Speaker 1 (01:01:22):
So what do you need for the DNA? Like a
piece of hair skin off.

Speaker 2 (01:01:25):
The ear or the buttocks, not one hundred percent sure.
We have a lot of questions we want answer. Someone
else want answers, Please give us answer. Email us or
call the hotline and give us answers.

Speaker 1 (01:01:36):
God forbid we call Tom and ask him.

Speaker 3 (01:01:39):
He won't even answer our call.

Speaker 1 (01:01:40):
No, he'd be like, what do you guys to call
it him?

Speaker 2 (01:01:44):
He'll be like, oh, you signed a one day contract, Julian,
you're in the Patriots Hall of Fame.

Speaker 3 (01:01:50):
Cool, I got a statue? Bitches all right, next question, Yo.

Speaker 2 (01:02:00):
I'm in.

Speaker 5 (01:02:01):
I played for Woodside High School. We just went first
time since two thousand and four.

Speaker 1 (01:02:06):
You should pull up, bro, we're like that Woodside wild
Cats my high school? Ten and oh are they in?

Speaker 3 (01:02:13):
Are?

Speaker 1 (01:02:14):
What division are we? What division are we? That's awesome.
Congrats to the boys.

Speaker 2 (01:02:20):
Trying not to give him the credit of for going
ten and oh and you're saying they're in a weak
division by.

Speaker 1 (01:02:24):
Asking because we were we were in we were in
Division two. They could be in higher division than us,
They could even be better. I don't the high school
California systems changed drastically since I left, Like we didn't
even have state coll we didn't have state championships. When
I was a kid. They put them in like six
years after I left for college, and so that is

(01:02:47):
that's awesome because I knew we were we were hurting
for a while. Let's see ten and oh playing Matdio.
See we're playing Samonteo. That's where Tom's from. Five and
oh in Peninsula, go down? Is this our other opponents?
Let's see there whin Westmont we played them in the
championship Mountain. He's got to call Castro Valley, Cappuccino, Santa Clara.

(01:03:09):
They're smoking these teams. Hillsdale thirty one zero half, Boom Bay.
They were always tough. They always had the rancher boys.
They always had like the country fed kids. Sequoia that's
in city rival forty two to fourteen, beat the break
Aragon used to be really good. That's in San Mateo too,
they beating we got what have we got a running

(01:03:29):
back or something? Who we got we're playing? We're playing
against the sam Mateo. Huh see, I think that could
be where we were. Let's go, that's cool. How's your
you played at in Pittsburgh High School? That was some
good high school football, right, It was great.

Speaker 2 (01:03:49):
High school football. It's very underrated Jules. First off, congratulations
to your high school team going ten and oh you
definitely need to go back there.

Speaker 3 (01:03:56):
You forgot to answer that question. Well, it wasn't a question,
it was a statement. He was telling you you should
pull up some jewels. Go back home, man, go back,
pull up to the high school.

Speaker 1 (01:04:05):
Give me it's probably this weekend.

Speaker 2 (01:04:07):
Well, if you can't get make it back for this
game or the upcoming championship or whatever it is, you
know you gotta at least go give them props. So
whenever you go back home, whenever it is, if it's
next year, or we'll just get back there by the
end of the school year, so you can give them
props because that's huge.

Speaker 3 (01:04:22):
Man. They go ten and o clearly, clearly they look
up to you as well. At least give them a
video shot out something on your story. Jewels.

Speaker 1 (01:04:28):
Come on, they'll beat We gotta beat the breaks off, Madio.
Beat the breaks off Madio. That's that's Tom School. Then
he's from San Mateo. That's the that's the public school
in San Mateo.

Speaker 3 (01:04:39):
Tell with to Sarah, which is what a private school?

Speaker 1 (01:04:43):
Yeah, private school when they had like Barry Bonds, Lynn
Swan went there. There's a bunch of baseball players who
went there. They had some studs.

Speaker 2 (01:04:52):
Yeah, that is pretty stugly. But I did go go
to the Pittsburgh my senior year. Let me tell you
Pittsburgh football, Western Pennsylvany. Your football is up there. Man,
it's underrated. You know, throughout the country, everyone thinks it's Florida, Texas,
California for the best high school football ball. Western Pennsylvania.
I'm telling you same with Ohio. It has some great football,
has great talent, has great quality of guys. At one point,

(01:05:15):
you know, in my second or third year in the NFL,
we had eleven guys from my high school. You know,
in the NFL at one time it was the most
out of high school. And Woody High right now is
eight and three. So shout out to Woody High going
eight and three. And I actually just donated in May
a four hundred thousand dollars weight room to them. It's
brand new, it's stay of the program. Well, I donated

(01:05:39):
two hundred thousand of it through the Gragnation Youth Foundation.
And then the Pittsburgh Steel Steel Company forgot this. Hech
named the steel company that is right around the corner
in Pittsburgh. They donated the other two hundred thousand, which
was nice. So it was a four hundred thousand dollars
weight room we got to put in in that high
school and three so that weight room's paying off.

Speaker 3 (01:06:01):
But shout out to our high school teams. Bro, that's
a jip.

Speaker 1 (01:06:04):
Let's let's do one more and we got to close
this one out. Shout out.

Speaker 3 (01:06:08):
So let's get to another question, Jules, give a shout
out to your high school. You know they want it.
They're waiting for you.

Speaker 1 (01:06:14):
Let's go. Boys, big game and big players make big
plays in big games. So what kind of players are
you going to be? What kind of players are going
to be? We haven't had this kind of success. We
haven't had this kind of success in a long time.
I think we had a good team a year a
few but this could be your year to make your history.

(01:06:37):
This is an exciting time. Enjoy these playoffs. Give everything
you have. There's no tomorrow. It's either today or it's
no day. Let's go.

Speaker 3 (01:06:50):
Let's fucking go. Let's go. And Jules just talking about
them as well. They deserve it. Obviously, that school looks
up to you.

Speaker 2 (01:06:57):
Man, you're probably the most well known athlete to ever
walk through those doors. So just talking about him, that's huge.
Shout out to your high school ton of Now what's
that high?

Speaker 5 (01:07:07):
Let's go, hey, Jules and Gronk. But dude is really
about hyping one another up. And I think as dudes,
we would really be doing a disservice not to take
a moment to blaze Matt Khalil and sing his praises.
I mean, what kind of dude is he is? He
He's a stud. I mean Black forty Bridgewater, Sam Bradford

(01:07:28):
made holes for Ap. He's a whiz. I mean, you know,
just like I said, creating gaps for Ap to run
through in his prime. He's a freak. I mean in
more ways than one. I don't think we need to
just say much more. There the dog, it's another one.
It's self explanatory. Probably a dude's dude in the locker room.
But I mean, let's say what he is? Come on,
three two one? Hog? Dude's a hog.

Speaker 1 (01:07:51):
Thanks boys, I heard about this guy.

Speaker 3 (01:07:58):
Matt Kohleil, absolute legend. What two coke cans? Even mean?

Speaker 2 (01:08:06):
Like like here we go, we got this is a
this is a coke can. This core is like, because
it's basically the same thing as a coke can?

Speaker 3 (01:08:13):
What what is it?

Speaker 2 (01:08:14):
You put two of these together and he's that long
and that wide and thick as well. That's dangerous, Julia,
that is very dangerous. And now I see why there
was a divorce for that reason and that reason only.
That makes a lot of sense. But you got to
tip your hat to Mat Khalil for having such a thing,
you know down there, like incredible, incredible.

Speaker 3 (01:08:37):
You dream of that.

Speaker 2 (01:08:41):
Like if I like people always say to me, like, yo,
if I had your six pack, I would never wear
a shirt.

Speaker 3 (01:08:48):
Well, if I had that coke can, I would never
wear pants.

Speaker 1 (01:08:53):
He's a freak, not a hog. He's a freak.

Speaker 3 (01:08:56):
He's a freaky hog.

Speaker 1 (01:08:57):
Matt Khalil, Is he still in the lea?

Speaker 2 (01:09:00):
No, no, guys retire A long time ago he was
playing what we were playing pretty solid center. Majority of
his career was in Carolina.

Speaker 1 (01:09:07):
He was a center. So you think the quarterback felt
that thing all the pants?

Speaker 2 (01:09:12):
Oh, I feel bad for Teddy Bridgewater. That's probably why
he retired and went and coached high school for a little.

Speaker 1 (01:09:17):
Bit and probably I got to go our cheese. Well,
what a way to end it go from make a
wish to two coke cans And that was the chillest

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
