Speaker 1 (00:00):
What a wild Week ten in the National Football League.
We're right here in the nuthouse, and we had to
hop on to bring you guys a little recap. We
had to get a little recap. I got Kyler here.
We're missing Jack. I think he's on riverside. We got
the boys. Let's start with these freaking Patriots. Now, let's
start with them. Okay. I went on Fox Kickoff Veterans
(00:24):
Day special with NFL Kickoff combined two hour special show.
I don't know what it was called, but that's what
I felt like.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
Did you also repel?
Speaker 1 (00:34):
I didn't. I haven't got the repel. I didn't get
the repel memos. I'm on practice squad dog. Come on, man,
you were the stand in. Yeah, I won't practice squad. Still,
I still got my reps. I know my role. I
know my role. I know my role. But let's move
on to the Patriots win in Tampa Bay. Like I
(00:54):
said when I was talking about this on the show,
I said, this is gonna be a tough matchup, but
right now the Bucks are and this would be a
good test for the Patriots and boy on the road.
On the road after a bucks By week, after a
bucks By week Baker.
Speaker 2 (01:07):
Can sling it. Patriots secondary has been a little bit
if lately.
Speaker 1 (01:11):
You know what my immediate reaction to this, We got
us a tough football team and they look fast. We
had a tough football team and they look fast. I
haven't seen this much speed on a Patriots team in
a long time, Like I'm talking about, you know, even
(01:33):
when we won a Super Bowl in eighteen, we didn't.
I don't think we had this much speed. These guys
are fast, Trayvon Henderson. It was great to see Williams
break out and have a big play. Third rounder. We've
been waiting for him. Now now they look fast and
they look tough. Why do they look tough because they
can run the football and they're stopping the fucking run
(01:53):
and they're doing well on special teams. That that that
was always what I was in doctor and what how
to be a tough foot ball team? You got to
you gotta run the ball, stop their own and cover kicks.
And it looks like they've been doing that. They got
a lot of juice right now. They're in a good
pocket of winning. Uh you know. Now to the Bucks defense,
(02:16):
they're baby, they're beat up. They're beat up. You know
they got to hold on and and you know they
still tried to come back. Bake still tried to bring
boys back, and Amika and Buka's real deal. Holy Field
Johns look good making plays over there. They're just beat
up over in Tampa. And right now, the Patriots, like
I said, are in this pocket of winning. And what
I mean by that is when you win games, it
(02:40):
becomes contagious in the locker room. Like when you start winning,
then everyone in the in the locker room is there
on Tuesdays, which we've heard.
Speaker 2 (02:49):
Reports how that everyone's working out in the off day.
Speaker 1 (02:51):
Okay, everyone coming in, they're doing a little extra watching
a little extra film, you know, uh, throwing a little
extra chalk on the hands, get a little workout in,
get a little run in, and then you you can't
wait for that Wednesday practice because of all the things
you didn't do well in the game, you want to
work on those. You want to work on the stuff
because you're in this pocket of winning where everyone in
(03:15):
that building right now believes. Hey, I know it's early
and football season hasn't even started yet. It's not cream season,
and we all know football season don't start until Thanksgiving.
It's getting damn close. Some of the things I didn't like.
Hated the turnover in the end zone by Drake, May
that the interception. Hated that hate. I don't. I don't
(03:40):
like saying hate, but I hate that. Didn't like was
there a fumble.
Speaker 2 (03:43):
I don't think there was.
Speaker 1 (03:44):
I think that's maybe there was a.
Speaker 2 (03:46):
Couple of like self inflicted third down like false starts
that they have. They've been doing that quite a bit
this season.
Speaker 1 (03:52):
Penalties can't do that.
Speaker 2 (03:53):
Hasn't been him in the ass yet, but it will
at some point.
Speaker 1 (03:56):
Drake made some unbelievable plays again on third down, third
and longs. He's made some throws where he sits up
in that pocket, takes a kiss from a defensive end
right after and completes the ball like he did to Williams,
and that guy takes all like they're making they're making
cool plays, they're making awesome plays, and they're they're making
the layups. Two I mean, five for thirteen or four
(04:19):
for fourteen on third down ain't gonna win you a
lot of games. But they were two for three on
fourth down, one for two in the red area. They
skipped the red area a lot because They've got so
many explosion plays, you know, this team, they can continue
to run the football and they can continue to to
make the explosion plays like Drake, you know, sixteen for
(04:39):
thirty one. That's not lighting it up. That's not lighting
it up. But two touchdowns, a couple scrambles, you know,
and they're coming together as a team. The defense, I
love the defense stopping that run because what that does
is makes teams one dimensional and then they can get
creative with their their coverage.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
Oh, it's the first time a running back ran for
more than fifty yards against the Patriots all year.
Speaker 1 (05:06):
Yeah, I mean there was a little bit of that.
Yeah it was only fifty three yards, but still that's
gonna break, Okay. But the thing is they're they're getting
confidence and stopping the run, and ultimately they got to
stop the run against Buffalo Bills when they play them,
you know, because that's what they have to do to
win the game.
Speaker 2 (05:24):
Something I'm really excited for with this team is like
the perseverance. You make a mistake, you bounce back right,
Like hey, Drake threw a touch an interception in the
end zone to like put the game away, and like
the defense showed up and like they just responded to
that as a unit to overcome some of the mistakes
that they've been making.
Speaker 1 (05:42):
You know what they've they've definitely had some answers, like
they've they've folded, they fell in a couple holes in
these last few weeks, and then they answer. And that's
mental toughness, you know. That's guys that are confident in
what they believe in what they're preaching over there, and
they're like, all right, yeah, we we can't do this,
(06:03):
but like like short memory, we got to move on.
There's still a game to be played. We can't get
MOPy dopey and you know, fucking Rabes with some balls
over here, you know, taking the knee on on the
uh yes, the goal line, Yeah, right before half that
whole situation. They call that the last shot. He made
(06:24):
it a lot closer than than then. You want, great
catch by Digs, Great catch by Digs. How about how
mentally tough is he? With all the shit that's going
on off the field, This guy is still balling and
he's getting better like I said he would as the
year went on, because that knee is only going to
get stronger. He's gonna get better too. You know, huge
(06:45):
reason why they didn't bring someone. They need to get
Booty back. Ye, you need to get Booty back. Uh.
Pop Douglas made another couple of plays. Matt Collins, you know,
up when you need him, he's he's been real effective.
You want to know why, because he's effective in the
run game and then they hit him on these little
play action boots on these crossers where they get him
in those nasty splits and you know he's had some
(07:07):
big plays, strong hands, six rate, six yards. You know,
he's a good football player and he and he does
a lot for your team. And he has a nastiness
to him. He's got a toughness to him. H Henderson.
Great to see him do that. And a lot of
people keep on always coming up to me, especially, you know,
uh around everywhere and and they're like, you know, how
(07:30):
come they're not playing them like they got a Like,
let's we're still learning the team kids. A rookie, you know,
we know he ran twenty two to one or he
ran twenty two point zho one. He's flying. Uh, he's
still got to learn. James White didn't play right away.
James White caught fifteen catches in the Super Bowl. It
(07:52):
takes time and and James, you know, like he's got
some that's intangible speed. I don't know if that's so.
I know it intangibles usually like freaking like oh you're
your your leadership. No, that's intangible speed.
Speaker 2 (08:07):
It's game day speed. It's like Jerry Rice didn't run
a fast forty, but like on the field, and.
Speaker 1 (08:10):
I think he ran a fast forty though.
Speaker 2 (08:12):
He's fast.
Speaker 1 (08:12):
Yeah, he's very, he's very. He ran a fast forty.
Think he ran four to three.
Speaker 2 (08:16):
The last time I think he did. The last time
a Patriot had multiple fifty yard runs in a game
was Lawrence Maroney in nineteen two thousand and seven had
a fifty fifty five yard and a sixty nine yarder.
Speaker 1 (08:26):
Shoutout a round, those are those are big boy but
those are big boy plays. And they were up the middle. Yeah,
but they all kind of and then he uses speed.
No one's gonna catch him, but that's really good to
see him step in, step up. Look, they got the
Jets on a Thursday. Okay, you can't take the Jets
lightly division team division game. Thursday night game. You know,
(08:53):
the Thursday night game is all about who can prepare
the best, the quickest, most efficient without real practice. That's
what a Thursday night game is. So usually it's a
little more vanilla in your game plan. It's you go
to the things you work on, you go to the
things that you do the best. And so that's why
those Thursday games are kind of mutters, especially this late
(09:14):
in the season, where you know you're week ten, a
week eleven, there's some you're banged up. This is the
this is the grimy part of the season. This is
the season where the competitive stamina has to kick in
because once you get past Thanksgiving, there's light at the
end of the tunnel. You're playing for something. Right now,
you're still playing for something, but you're you know.
Speaker 2 (09:36):
It's July baseball.
Speaker 1 (09:38):
It's July baseball. You wake up, it's dark, You go
to work, You leave the building. It's dark. You go
to work. It's a little colder. It takes a little
longer to get out of the shower. You know, it's
when it's that cold, that hot shower feels good in
the morning. You know, this is the grind part of
the season. You don't feel good. You got an ankle,
(09:58):
you gotta five bruise, you gotta brew dribs. This is
the part of this season where it gets hard. So
you're gonna learn a lot about teams during this part.
And this is where you know, the pastorization period starts
and that cream starts rising to the top. I'm excited
for the Patriots getting their seventh straight win. It makes me,
you know, it's kind of like I like going to work.
(10:19):
I like going to Fox. You know, everyone's got their team.
I feel bad for Stray with those Giants. He gets
so mad. Howie with the Raiders, feel bad? Terry with
the the Stealers felt bad this weekend, Charles with the Raiders,
I felt I felt bad. Packers. Packers, we still got
(10:41):
you see, that's the thing. Charles gets a dip and down.
But he me and Charles Ath a little worried about
the Packers against Philly, you know. So it's always good
to go home or go to work when the boys
are doing well.
Speaker 2 (10:54):
So the wrap up, Patriots tied for first in the ANFC.
Speaker 1 (10:57):
And two games up up. Hey, you cannot pat yourself
on the back. Like I said, this is the toughest
part of the season. This is where you're gonna start
to see, you know, the good teams separate. Okay, the
good teams stay on the gas, and that that means
staying on the gas to uh your preparation. This is
(11:19):
when it gets harder to do the extra stuff because
you're you're beat up, you're tired, you're worn out a little.
Young players, they're they're there are eleven weeks in the book.
First first year guys.
Speaker 2 (11:30):
Trat the end of your calle season right now.
Speaker 1 (11:32):
You usually got a month off until you get your
bull bag and you're playing your Xbox and and you
get your free Chick fil A card, you got a
month off. No, not in the NFL. You're still playing.
You're halfway through that rookie wall. But maybe the Patriots
played this right with Trayvon Henderson doesn't have many reps
going in to this stretch. I don't know.
Speaker 2 (11:54):
And one last thing, Drake May for all you Vegas
heads out there, is now the odds on favorite for Envy.
Speaker 1 (12:00):
Love it. I like it. I like it. But what
was this point last year with Sam Donald? Because remember
Sam Donald took a dump in the last couple of weeks,
and that's when you want to play your best. So
this is going to be an important time for Drake
screw the MVP, but just for the team to play
(12:21):
his best at the end, because that's the best. The
hot teams win. Hot teams win.
Speaker 2 (12:28):
You mentioned Giants. Let's talk about Giants breaking news.
Speaker 1 (12:31):
Yeah, ski Ball, he's gone. They fired Brian day Ball
week ten after Giants lose that ten point fourth quarter
lead to the Chicago Bears. You know, I feel bad.
It's never cool when any head coach gets fired. You
(12:52):
got to remember, these people got families, kids, They're at
the schools over in the areas. The kids are probably
heckling the shit out of him. Your dad is that,
you know. But what I don't feel bad is he
will be getting paid.
Speaker 2 (13:06):
Not like those college guys, but he'll look okay, he'll
be getting paid. So he was twenty for forty and
one tie in his three and a half years on
New York and won and one in the playoffs.
Speaker 1 (13:16):
Gotta win with Daniel Jones in the playoffs. People forget
about that.
Speaker 2 (13:19):
At this point, the Giants have not yet named an
interim head coach. But we'll double check in before we
end up recording.
Speaker 1 (13:25):
Yeah, it doesn't matter, Yeah, it doesn't matter.
Speaker 2 (13:27):
Where do you think the Giants go from a head
coach direction after this.
Speaker 1 (13:33):
There's a team down in Chapel Hill is playing a
little better. What if the Giants brought in Bill Belichick?
What do you.
Speaker 2 (13:43):
Do you think that's even a possibility.
Speaker 1 (13:45):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (13:46):
I mean, he has a relationship with the Mars.
Speaker 1 (13:48):
He fucking loves him. We all know that guys shed
a single tier every time we played there. The old
time I saw him get happy. We talked about LT
just joking, but like, I don't know, the Giants really
don't make like crazy hires like that.
Speaker 2 (14:10):
They also don't really move on from in season either,
the very conservative.
Speaker 1 (14:15):
So maybe because they did an in season change, they're
changing their way a little. I don't know, who knows.
I think they're gonna want to probably try to get
someone that's sexy for Jackson Dart Cliff Quby Kingsbury, Cliff.
I you know, I don't know the thing with Cliff
(14:37):
and coaches, the next one is his last one. Yeah,
you know, the next head coach job is his last
head coach job, unless you're gonna go back to college.
Speaker 2 (14:49):
But Giants young quarterback, right offensive talent. The Mars are
very conservative, so you're gonna be there for at least
three four years. Yeah, it's a hot It's like a
tough market to be in.
Speaker 1 (15:00):
Very tough market to be in. Uh, got a lot
of defensive talent.
Speaker 2 (15:05):
Yeah, that defensive line.
Speaker 1 (15:08):
And I don't it's where's Dave Ball? Does he? Where's
he gonna end.
Speaker 2 (15:11):
Up consultant for the Patriots?
Speaker 1 (15:14):
Probably? I don't know. No, he's not. Bill's not there.
Speaker 2 (15:18):
Did he have a relationship? Was he there when?
Speaker 1 (15:20):
Yeah? He was there with Rabes.
Speaker 2 (15:21):
Yeah, but I don't know. Huh McDaniels is there go
be an offensive consultant?
Speaker 1 (15:28):
Yeah, but I don't know. Probably not. I don't think
the Patriots are in that world yet.
Speaker 2 (15:34):
Yeah, or you know what, Dave all take a breath,
hang out with your family.
Speaker 1 (15:39):
Yeah, he loves football. I could see him going back
to Buffalo maybe mm hmm with Josh Alton. That's interesting
because Josh allen him had he developed, he helped develop
Josh mm hmm.
Speaker 2 (15:57):
I like that move.
Speaker 1 (15:58):
I don't know about like head coach, what do they
Joe Brady? I mean, they're doing decent things, but I
don't know because if look if the Bills, if if
the Bills go out and get beating the first round
of playoffs, Like what happens there?
Speaker 2 (16:20):
You gotta start thinking about it. You know.
Speaker 1 (16:23):
I like McDermott. I like him a lot. He's a
great coach. But you can't change unless you change.
Speaker 2 (16:32):
He just had a milestone for wins.
Speaker 1 (16:34):
Right, he probably did. He's he got a lot of
wins in this league.
Speaker 2 (16:37):
Yeah, I think he had. I think he just got
a one hundredth win or is that ninety nine?
Speaker 1 (16:41):
No?
Speaker 2 (16:41):
They just lost to the Dolphins.
Speaker 1 (16:44):
That should be a react too.
Speaker 2 (16:48):
He's close to close, close to that.
Speaker 1 (16:51):
That's a lot. He's a great coach, but sometimes, you know,
sometimes you need a little shake up. I don't know.
I don't want to talk about other people's jobs, but
we were talking about Brian Dayball who just lost his job,
and you know who knows.
Speaker 2 (17:07):
Before we move on from Giants, you had an interesting
thing to say about Jackson Dart this morning. I'd love
to hear you expand upon that.
Speaker 1 (17:13):
Kind of reminds you of Drake May last year. Why
is that makes a bunch of kind of big plays
still kind of raws got like a little aura to him. Uh,
you look at the stat lines, they don't look great
but you don't. If you watch the game, you see
the great you see the flashes of great.
Speaker 2 (17:30):
Passes, the eye check.
Speaker 1 (17:32):
Yeah, and I I he's gotta take care of his
body though. He takes a lot of hits, you know
what I mean.
Speaker 2 (17:39):
On the concussion.
Speaker 1 (17:40):
He got a concussion.
Speaker 2 (17:40):
Yeah, or at least in the protocol. I don't know
if you regardless, he's out.
Speaker 1 (17:44):
Yeah, he's you know, he can run the ball too.
He had a couple of big runs. Let's move on,
Let's go to the Atlanta. Is the jumming game in
bo In, Yeah, this is the Jonathan Taylor game. Right,
(18:04):
Holy smokes, Indiana beats Atlanta thirty one twenty five and
an overtime thriller in deutsch Land. You know, I was
pissed I didn't get to watch it. I watched like
the highlights, and I watched like the.
Speaker 2 (18:20):
Condents in the alarm.
Speaker 1 (18:23):
No, we're freaking doing our show. Oh yeah, we're doing
the military show. And usually they have but it was
like the live of because you're outside. We were outside.
We didn't have our TVs. And I usually loved the
early day morning when you're at work and you get
to watch a little football, get a little taste, Yeah,
you know, warm me up. Yeah, it didn't get to
(18:44):
but from what you know when you watch the highlights,
thirty four carries two hundred and forty four yards and
three touchdowns, including a walk off game winning touchdown in overtime.
This is an Offensive Player of the Year moment.
Speaker 2 (19:00):
Hmmm.
Speaker 1 (19:01):
I mean, I'm gonna be saying VP.
Speaker 2 (19:03):
I mean, he's he's close to being on pace to
LT's like total touchdown record and rushing record. Like he's
like he's in the ballpark.
Speaker 1 (19:11):
He's on pace for nineteen hundred yards. Sakwan did two
thousand last year. I think sa Quon had like a
two hundred and seventy five yard game touchdowns.
Speaker 2 (19:21):
Though, heard that you ate a lot of touchdowns from him.
Speaker 1 (19:24):
Ertz took all the touchdowns from them. So but I'm
just saying, like, you gotta destroy a record if you're
gonna go in that MVP category, And they may they
watch the NFL may give it to a non quarterback
this year because because politically, you know what I mean,
Like everyone's talking about it, just you know what I mean, Like,
so if.
Speaker 2 (19:44):
It's like Drake may or insane year of Jonathan Taylor,
or Daniel like something like that. I can see them
being like, Okay, let's give it to the running back.
Speaker 1 (19:50):
Yeah. But if it's like Josh.
Speaker 2 (19:51):
Allen who had insane year or Mahomes who had insane year,
they're going to like the big boys. Yeah, yeah, I
buy that.
Speaker 1 (19:57):
You got you gotta be at the big boy table
before you.
Speaker 2 (19:59):
Get it track with that.
Speaker 1 (20:01):
I don't know. That was an insane game. He's on
pace for twenty three one hundred twenty three plus one
hundred twenty three hundred plus scrimmage yards, fourth most ever
in a season, not far off Chris Johnson's twenty five nine.
(20:22):
But let's take a second. We gotta say thank you
to the troops. Thank you to the veterans, anyone who's
served this country. That's what Veterans Day is, anyone who
served men, women. We do not take this lightly here
in the nuthouse. Are we love our troops, our military.
My grandfather served on the Arizona, not Walla cup hom
(20:43):
though not wallingcup Homed came back on the Enterprise from
World War Two. You know, so we have some roots
and we appreciate you guys. That was fun. Another recap
NFL recap from the nuthouse, hit the comments if you
want us keep doing this stuff. Like doing it. It
helps me for TV. I like getting Gronk involved. We'll
have Gronk more in here too as well in Jackson Jacksontown.
(21:07):
But it's just good for me to just get it
out for what I for my preparation going forward.
Speaker 2 (21:13):
Yeah. So if you like these, I like, subscribe comments,
tell your friends, share it around because.
Speaker 1 (21:18):
Argue with me. Let's go. I'm not here to argue,
but I'm just giving you what I think.
Speaker 2 (21:23):
Just drop a troll, take in the comments to please,
don't the engagement to go crazy.
Speaker 1 (21:28):
Yeah, and again, guys, new games with names Tomorrow, we
got Willie Mack Willie McGinnis, founding father of the Patriot
Don dynasty, talking about the goal line stand game against
Indianapolis Colts. And then we also have a new Dude's
(21:48):
on Dudes dropping this Thursday, we'll be talking with Gronk
about signing a one day contract to retire a Patriot
forever and maybe a little Thursday night preview. Maybe a
little Thursday night.
Speaker 2 (22:03):
Preview we're gonna be I don't know if we've talked
about this, but I'll be with Rob in Boston. Perfect
and we'll be recording the episode right after the press
conference where he signs the contract, so it's a perfect time,
and we'll do a little Patriots Jets preview.
Speaker 1 (22:16):
Patriots Jet preview.
Speaker 2 (22:17):
Also a teaser. There's a fun little wrinkle that we
haven't only talked about yet. That's gonna be fun.
Speaker 1 (22:23):
Yeah, Patriots Jets Thursday Night. Those are muddy mutter terror.
Those are I remember those games. They're hard. We used
to play them a lot early in the year.
Speaker 2 (22:32):
There was one. I went to one and I was
so happy because Mike Vick was the quarterback for the Jets.
It had it been like two thousand and twelve or thirteen. Yeah,
that was fine. Yeah in Foxbor I think it ended
on a block kick. The Jets could have won, but
that was a block kick. Yeah. Anyway, like subscribe the whole.
Speaker 1 (22:49):
Thing, Like and subscribe. We'll see you guys then,
