Speaker 1 (00:01):
Follow the Money. That's why I always say you always follow. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
Yeah, this is Follow the Money with Mitch Moss and
Polly Howard on VSON.
Speaker 1 (00:09):
Here we go, Welcome in. It is Follow the Money
on vcin D Sports Betty. Now if this show is
brought to you by DraftKings, Mitch Moss, Paully Howard with
you live in downtown Las Vegas from the Circa Resort
and Casino Busy show lined up today, we'll recap Game
three of the NBA Finals, get into Game three Stanley
Cup Finals being played tonight. Uh US Open is underway
(00:30):
as we speak, so we'll talk about that. Great guests
on the program today, including Nigel Seeley on the Euros,
Jonathan Davis on hockey, and Mike Palmer Studio. A little
bit later on, we have blind resume today in Major
League Baseball the top things off, which is gonna be
a lot of fun as well. What do you think now?
Three games in? Been a bad series, my man, not
(00:50):
very well played and unfortunately and this is what happens.
This is kind of like a March Madness type of
feel with Dallas right, improbable run upset, you know, a
couple team along the way, including the one seed, and
just totally ran out of gas. And they have had
no help outside of like the top two guys. Yep,
really in terms of scoring overall anyway, right, yep.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
That's right now. Boston Denver would have been the nuts, but.
Speaker 1 (01:14):
Bosso BFC would have been much better than this. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:17):
Well, the PJ Washington who showed up against Oka, See
where's he been? So that that comes down to Kyrie
really struggled in the first two games. He was great
last night. Luca's been solid, but it's you're not getting
any help and you're just not And then when you
go to the others and you try to give a
kid was listening to you, you try to give hard
away time and he plays nineteen minutes and they get
(01:38):
outscored by sixteen points in those minutes. In Cleeba, they're
outscored by thirteen points in those eight minutes. Jones, the
lights are two bright two points. Shoot, you're taking on
a team that has won eleven ten in a row
in the playoffs, perfect on the road and gonna win
eighty go, gonna go maybe eighty and twenty on the year.
(01:58):
You're gonna have everyone play well. If you're going to
beat them, So they won fifty games. They're a good team,
but you wouldn't know it by watching this series. But
you have to give Boston credit as well and the
job they're doing defensively.
Speaker 1 (02:09):
Hey, go back to the Eastern Conference finals, right, they
went three to oh in clutch spots or coin flip games.
They won all those games. The Pacers fell on their
faces the entire time, and we're like how And we're
trying to like get a grasp on this series then,
and I'm telling myself, well, these games are going to
be close. The Mavericks are not gonna lose like the
Pacers did. Halliburton's dribbling off his leg out of bounds,
(02:31):
like Lucas going to be composed. Kyrie can be really
really good down the stretch and we can have a
series here. And it's been the exact opposite. The Celtics
find ways to win all these close games. Those that's
now back to back games for Dallas where we could
sit here and talk about how they could have, would
have should have won each of them, could be up
to one, but they're not well, they're not right.
Speaker 2 (02:53):
There's no question they should have won Game two as
bad as Boston played, but it also shouldn't have been close.
You're up to twenty one with ten minutes left, and
then with all that talent and firepower they have, and
again we're talking about the number one team in NBA
history from an efficiency standpoint, they make one shot in
eight minutes. Now, how's that even possible?
Speaker 1 (03:13):
Now, the third quarter was a travesty, But I will
also flip it and say, what happened in the first quarter?
And how did you I mean this is again chopping around.
We talked about this specifically yesterday on the show. Laying
a half a point money line, one and a half, whatever,
and the first quarter, if you laid a half a point,
it was a winner. If you laid any more than that,
you lost. Because of what happened. They're up by a
(03:33):
dozen coasting in the first quarter with four minutes to go,
and they won the quarter by a point. Yeah, and
that's when I knew my first half bet was also
going to be in trouble.
Speaker 2 (03:41):
Yeah, one and a half, first quarter, horrible beat up
six with a minute and then Lucas shoots to ear
leon no one, No one gets back. That's that's all time.
Or if you had MAVs first quarter.
Speaker 1 (03:52):
Yeah, you just you hate the way the game started
last night with that scenario. And by the way, that's
thirty one thirty. The game's flying over at that point,
totally dies. It stays under the total again last night.
So I'm just disappointed here that we're getting this absolute
stink bomb. And Kyrie played his first good game of
the series. He still lost. But that PJ. Washington that
(04:13):
we're seeing again last night, Man, he had to play
like that against ok sEH had.
Speaker 2 (04:18):
To do it well also had they won any of
these last two games. It's really interesting because I don't
think we see Porzingis unless it goes seven. I mean,
they're taking it out of his hands. As Missoula said,
it's the doctor's call. He comes in, he has the
tendon issue, and he does this workout and they say no,
shut it down, and then Woach has the report. This
(04:38):
does not look good for the rest of the series.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
You were surprised yesterday when I sit on the air,
I'd be surprised if he plays. Yeah, and it came
out and there's no reason to bring him back in
this game. There's no reason this series where a gambling network.
I get that this series is over with. It might
go five, six games, don't know but what that number
is going to be. But the Mavericks are not coming
from me to win four straight games against the Celtics.
(05:01):
They're just not going to do it.
Speaker 2 (05:03):
Well, no, it's never happened, no doubt. But I still
think Friday night's intriguing because you have the short turnaround
and it's always still pride and professionals. It's one thing
I don't want to get swept. You saw that with
Minnesota in the last round. But it's also I don't
want to see someone celebrate on my home floor. I
don't want that either. So for only the fifth time
all year, Boston's going to be an underdog again, just
(05:24):
like the last game. So Dallas is laying one in
Game four and see if they can extend it to
the game five. But that's a tricky handicap. But yes,
well you think they roll over and it's over, But
it's I think the other the opposite will happen, that
you get a big effort and the fact that I
want to see you celebrate, and now do I want
to get swept, And let's try to at least get
a game here and make it three to one.
Speaker 1 (05:43):
I wrote this down in my notes last night, and
I'm looking right now at the v Sin Daily today
Bill eighty sent this out. I'm glad that he put
this in there. Great job, Bill, Yes, he pointed out,
and he says, indulge me here for a second. Bill
eighty has been covering sports for a long, long time
in the Chicago area for me many years, and he said,
I oversaw coverage of the Bowls Championship runs in the nineties,
(06:04):
and you never would have seen the star player on
a team down two oho at home foul out on
a questionable call that was reviewed. That's the key. It
was questionable, it was reviewed, and they still said, Luke,
it doesn't I don't care if you think it was
a foul or not. Bill's point is, back in the
nineties under David Stern, that does not go the way
it did last night. Just doesn't. I don't think it's
initially called on Luca. And then certainly if they hadn't
(06:26):
replay back in the nineties, they would look at that
and say, no, sorry, it's it's an offensive foul there,
or it's not on Luca. And then the other one
was also the illegal screen that doesn't get called uder
David Stern two things, when again, this is a new
NBA that we're talking about here.
Speaker 2 (06:39):
That is true. Yeah, Bill's exactly right. Humans has mentioned
it as well. Sure, and it really hurts us as
being on a betting network and from that standpoint that
you used to if a team was down oh two,
the superstars were getting the calls and they were going
to win that game and it would probably forget about
going five and at least go six. But it was
a rough look for Luca. They asked Brian Winhorst after
(07:01):
the game, what did he think of his performance? He said,
completely unacceptable. No one can tell him anything, not teammates,
not coaches, not executives, not media, not fans, not referees.
There's been a lot of pleas and promises that he'll improve,
but this one's going to leave a mark. He's a
brilliant player once in a generation, but he's going to
have to look in the mirror and confront his weaknesses
before he's on the other side of the finals. His
(07:23):
defensive effort has been crushing to his team. His complaining
to the referees is painful, and his frustration fouls cost
his team a chance at making this a series because
he fouled out. He's one of the biggest stars in
the league. He has to be held to a higher standard.
He failed to meet it in this game. He's going
to have to deal with it, whether he likes it
or not. And guess what he did after the game.
(07:45):
He blamed the officials. You cannot do this. And he
is a great player. And we've talked about this at
Tim McMahon, who covers the team. You think it's bad
watching on television, it's ten times worse if you're at
the game that he complains on every single call, no hyperbole,
and he doesn't get back. The Celtics hasn't played three
(08:05):
after he sits there and you know it's like someone's
there's a sniper in the upper deck. After he didn't
get the call on the step back three, he lays
on the ground and then they come back and they
hit a dagger three and he never gets back on defense.
Dorisbroke called him out and he blames the officials after
the game. This is ridiculous.
Speaker 1 (08:21):
What he's What did I say two or three weeks
ago during this playoff run, I called him insufferable. I said,
I hate watching the kid play. He's James Harden, but
worse I have. I talked about this on Tuesday. I
told you how my wife and I adopted a new
baby boy last week. He is seven weeks old. We
were thinking about naming him Luca because he cries so much,
but I hate the name and I can't stand watching him,
(08:42):
so we decided to go with Sebastian. Yeah, that's how
I Paul. He's who's worse to watch in the NBA
than him? And every call, by the way, is legit. Yeah,
and he's always using his muscle and his force and
his brute and he's pushing off and every single time
he looks back and he's got this look and he
goes after it. And then, by the way, not only
on that, when he followed out last night, he looks
(09:05):
over the bench. You got to bleep and review that.
There you go, good job, hel way to go like
it's your coach's fault, dummy. I just I cannot emphasize
how much he's just. He's he's bad. He's a I
don't know, I don't want to go.
Speaker 2 (09:19):
I got I got it right here for you. This
is Brian Winhorst right after the game with Scott Van Pelt.
I think he's a talented guy, and this was a
great takedown by Windhorse, summing it up in ninety and
sixty seconds on Luca.
Speaker 3 (09:33):
I thought it was perfect that Luca fell onto the
ground there in an unacceptable position to put himself in
with four minutes left with five fouls, and then immediately
looks at the bench and says, you better bleeping challenge it,
as if it's the bench's fault that he just made
a terrible play. I'm standing here in the Mavericks tunnel.
Over there is the Celtics tunnel. That's where the winners are.
If Lucas ever going to be a winner coming out
(09:53):
of this tunnel here, he is going to have to
use this have what's happened in this finals as a
learning experience. His defensive performance is unacceptable. He is a
hole on the court. The Celtics are attacking him. They
are ahead in this series because they have attacked him defensively.
Speaker 1 (10:08):
Good good for Brian Windhorse. Yep, that was immediately after
the game last night. I did not see that live.
I'm hearing that fresh awesome, and I hope He's on
ESPN all day today saying the same done thing.
Speaker 2 (10:18):
Yep, And again he's a talented guy and I don't
care that he's overweight. You should hire based on who's
talented and not checking boxes and all this crying about
inside the NBA and that there are great people who
cover this league and that is a great takedown and
he knows the game and that was well done, and
also having the guts to stand up and going after
the guy. But you shouldn't be in that position. Yes,
(10:39):
it was a foul, and you are right for him
to then scream at his bench you better bleep and
challenge that. And then he cries and blames the officials
after the game with the media.
Speaker 1 (10:49):
He's the most unlikable player in the NBA by a mile,
and that might he might take the cake in most
of the four major sports here in this continent. Now,
I'm not exaggerating how I've been saying it for weeks now.
Speaker 2 (11:01):
Yeah, and Silver was on the pregame and he's got
a good thing going and they just got what seventy
billion dollars? Yeah, with their rights. It's again when they
go to the monitor, it shouldn't take four minutes and
you shouldn't have superstars complaining like this. And he's not
the only one, but on a regular basis, no one
wants to see that incessant badgering and complaining.
Speaker 1 (11:20):
Let's expand on betting these certain numbers in first quarters
and first halfs compared to the money line. Coming up next,
we'll get into the most point of the series, most
rebounds assists as well and Stanley Cup Game three tonight,
including several people suggesting to bet on this person to
lead this series in points. We'll tell you who that is.
Coming up on Follow the Money, It's VS and D
Sports Betting Network.
