Speaker 1 (00:02):
Hey, it's Delilah. Thank you for stopping by. I have
put together some of my favorite radio moments here to
share with you on our daily podcast, Do Love. So,
what in the world is going on in your world?
(00:22):
Is there peace in your heart and peace in your home?
Is there peace with your family? Are you able to talk, connect, communicate?
Have you put the bickering and the bitterness aside? And
are you able to embrace and encourage and help one
(00:46):
another through these tough times. We need to be there.
We need to be family for one another. We need
to be there and reach out in loveday. We need
to be encouraging, supporting, loving. When was the last time
(01:07):
you called someone in your family and said, I'm not
calling for any reason. I don't need anything. I just
want to tell you I love you, I appreciate you.
I thank you, Tammy. Thank you for your patience, Thank
you for calling tonight. Did you have a good summer
(01:28):
twenty twenty four?
Speaker 2 (01:30):
I did. I became a grandma for the second time.
And my grandsons are almost two years to the day of.
Speaker 1 (01:40):
Heart And what is the new baby's name?
Speaker 2 (01:43):
His name is Callum and his big brother is Alivander.
And we call him Alie.
Speaker 1 (01:50):
And what song can I play for your grandma's heart?
Isn't that the sweetest, sweetest thing seeing your children become parents.
Speaker 2 (01:59):
I have a couple things to tell you. I talked
to you probably twenty years ago that I was in
love head over heels with my children's dad, and since
then we've split, and I truly believe I called my
soulmate and he is your biggest fan.
Speaker 1 (02:19):
And who is this person, the soulmate that you are
with now?
Speaker 2 (02:23):
His name is Sean, and he makes me love him
more and more every day, and I don't feel like
it's possible to love him more, and yet I do.
And it's just he's an amazing man. And I just
wanted you to know that my two children, who I
(02:46):
would do anything for because I was pretty much a
single mom, their dad when it was convenient for him,
he was a family man. Otherwise it was about his
friends and he don't want to grow up. And I decided,
if I'm going to be a single parent, I'm going
to be a single parent.
Speaker 1 (03:06):
And I can tell you it's much easier being a
single parent when you're single than being the solo parent
when you're supposed to have a partner by your side,
but they choose not to engage or participate, so much
easier to do it on your own exactly.
Speaker 2 (03:23):
It truly was, and I could not be more proud
of my kids than I am right now.
Speaker 1 (03:29):
You go enjoy this beautiful family that God is knit together,
and I will play a song for you.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
Thank you so much.
Speaker 1 (03:35):
Delilah. Hello, thank you for calling, Thank you for your patience.
Welcome to the Delilah Show.
Speaker 3 (03:49):
Hi.
Speaker 4 (03:49):
Who's this?
Speaker 5 (03:50):
My name is Jessica.
Speaker 1 (03:52):
Hi, Jessica. Are you having a good year thus far?
Speaker 5 (03:57):
I am. I just wanted to call in, Sike because
I love your show. I listened to it every night
while I'm driving home somewhere. But I just wanted to
probably give this kind of an appreciation for my family.
Speaker 3 (04:10):
Tell me about your family.
Speaker 5 (04:12):
They are wonderful. I love them so much. My parents
have been made for twenty five years. They just kind
of showed me what what marriage is supposed to be
and what love is just all supposed to be about.
They've done everything for me my brother. My brother and
I are best friends, and I just want them to
know how much I love and appreciate them, and just
(04:34):
really love and really appreciate how much the course they've
given me, and I just want to say how much
I enjoy them.
Speaker 1 (04:41):
Wait a minute, Jessica, how old are you?
Speaker 5 (04:45):
I'm twenty four.
Speaker 1 (04:46):
Okay, So when you were eighteen, would we have had
the same conversation?
Speaker 5 (04:52):
You know, I don't know. They've always been so supportive.
Speaker 1 (04:57):
I no, no, I'm not questioning them when you were
eighteen or nineteen? Did you recognize that? Because usually girls
about seventeen, eighteen, nineteen thinks that mom is just not
that bride at all, and then around twenty two, twenty three,
maybe twenty four, they come to realize it. Whoa wait
(05:18):
a minute, Wait a minute, I.
Speaker 3 (05:21):
Mom's not so bad after all.
Speaker 1 (05:23):
In fact, she's pretty darn awesome.
Speaker 5 (05:26):
She she's incredible, and she does she knows exactly what
she's talking abouteen I think I was questioning her a
little bit, thinking, you don't know what you're talking about.
You've never been through this, you don't know what I'm
going through. And now at twenty four, I'm like, you
know exactly what I was going through. She's just kind
of safety into the woman that I am. Everybody has
(05:47):
my dad, my brother, and I just I really appreciate them.
So I just you know, wanted to call and just
you know, let them.
Speaker 3 (05:54):
Know that I appreciate you.
Speaker 5 (05:57):
I used to see you do. I'm listen to you.
Speaker 1 (06:00):
You sound like you are mature beyond your years.
Speaker 5 (06:04):
Oh, thank you, and.
Speaker 3 (06:06):
I love your attitude of gratitude.
Speaker 1 (06:08):
So let me play a song for your whole family,
and let me just tell you thank you for being
a lovely young woman.
Speaker 5 (06:15):
Oh thank you. Delilah is a pleasure talking to you.
Speaker 4 (06:17):
You have a great night, Bye bye bye, Nicole.
Speaker 3 (06:31):
Thank you for your patience tonight.
Speaker 6 (06:33):
Yes, you're welcome.
Speaker 3 (06:35):
Tell me who's on your heart.
Speaker 6 (06:36):
Well, I'm going to have to say it's my family,
my whole family, including my husband and my three children,
but mainly just my family is my mother, my sister.
I grew up on a family of eleven children. My
mom had three sets of twins.
Speaker 3 (06:52):
Oh my goodness, God, bless her.
Speaker 6 (06:55):
Yes, bless her very much, because I have three and
I don't know how she ever did it with.
Speaker 3 (06:59):
Eleven Were they Catholic or Mormon?
Speaker 6 (07:03):
Oh no, the Catholic.
Speaker 3 (07:05):
It had to be Catholic or Mormon to have that
many kids.
Speaker 6 (07:08):
Yeah, and her husband died when you know we were
all young and she raised us all on her own.
Speaker 1 (07:13):
And you know, she raised eleven children as a single
parent back in the day.
Speaker 6 (07:19):
Yeah, you know, you just gotta go somebody in time
to credit for that, because I can do it. So. Yeah,
and we've been through a lot.
Speaker 3 (07:27):
Are you close with your siblings now?
Speaker 6 (07:29):
Yes, we all love each other and I'm gonna have
to say more on March Day and we all really
know what family's about and how to love each other
and how to be there for each other and so
but yeah, we learned a lot. And I got married
and I have three children on my own, and I
taught my husband a thing or two about family.
Speaker 3 (07:51):
But let me find a song to honor your your
huge family. How many grandkids does grandma have?
Speaker 6 (07:58):
You know what, I don't know. It's around twenty.
Speaker 3 (08:01):
You lost count, Yeah.
Speaker 6 (08:02):
We lost count. But you know, she gets up and
she goes every day, and I still I just don't
know how she does it. I mean, she has more
patience and more she's been. I mean, it's just amazing
how she is.
Speaker 3 (08:15):
And let me find a song for her.
Speaker 1 (08:17):
All right, thank you, Hello, good evening. You've called Delilah,
who is with me on the phone lines.
Speaker 7 (08:30):
Oh my gosh, Delilah, this is Ronnie. I've been a
listener for over twenty years, and I am like speechless
right now.
Speaker 3 (08:41):
Well, welcome aboard. What can I do for you?
Speaker 7 (08:44):
Yeah, this is just so wonderful. I feel like I
know you. That's what I was trying to say. I
just you're just such a special person to myself and
also to my husband and our son, and so I
just thought I would try again because I've tried several
times to get through. But you know, I really just
(09:07):
want my husband to know how much he means to eat.
And I'm going to just start crying. I mean, we've
just been we've been married for ten years, but we
just haven't had a chance to go on a date
in a couple of years. And I know that sounds horrible,
but we've just been working and trying to get through things,
(09:27):
and you know, we've very I guess, overprotective parents. So
I just want him to know I love him so much.
And I just would like to ask you to dedicate
as long to my husband.
Speaker 1 (09:40):
When you're parenting and when you've got responsibilities and when
you've got jobs. It's like, you know, date is laying
in bed watching something on Amazon Prime.
Speaker 7 (09:51):
That's it, exactly, Yes, yes, exactly.
Speaker 3 (09:57):
I get it.
Speaker 1 (09:58):
What is this wonderful man's name who you love so much?
Speaker 7 (10:02):
Daryl?
Speaker 1 (10:03):
I will find a sweet song for you and your
whole family.
Speaker 7 (10:07):
Oh, thank you, Delilah. Yes, because I little know it's
going to be like what about me? Mom? So Noah too?
Speaker 3 (10:14):
How old is Noah?
Speaker 7 (10:16):
Noah just turned nine last month?
Speaker 1 (10:18):
Oh what a fun, fun, fun age. All right, go
enjoy your family. Thank you for calling, and thank you
for the kind words. I'm glad you've been listening all
these years.
Speaker 3 (10:28):
Bye bye.
Speaker 2 (10:29):
We love you, Delilah, Thank you.
Speaker 4 (10:31):
Love you.
Speaker 3 (10:34):
