Speaker 1 (00:02):
Hey it's Delilah. Thank you for stopping by. I have
put together some of my favorite radio moments here to
share with you on our daily podcast. Hey it's Delilah.
You probably know I have a lot of adopted kids.

(00:22):
My family is built through adoption, and today we are
going to celebrate the miracle of adoption.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
Hi Danielle, how are you doing, Delilah?

Speaker 3 (00:33):
I'm good.

Speaker 4 (00:34):
How are you?

Speaker 2 (00:35):
I'm incredibly wonderful. Wanted to I sent an email in
wanted to share an incredible love story with you. I
have three children that amazed me on a daily basis.
Always wanted to be a parent and waited late in life.
I just turned forty six and about three years ago

(00:55):
I started the adoption process, and about two nights before
I was expecting one child to come to my home,
I got a set of twins that were twelve months
old and we secured the adoption, and it's been the
most amazing love I've ever had. And then last year
in April, I was contacted and their biological mother had

(01:20):
a little girl and I was able to get her
to complete my family as well.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
So you went from the dreams of having one to
suddenly being a daddy to three.

Speaker 2 (01:31):
That's exactly right.

Speaker 3 (01:33):
God bless you. So the twins are boys.

Speaker 2 (01:36):
The twins are boys, identical boys. They are four years
old now and my daughter is two.

Speaker 3 (01:41):
And they have the same bio.

Speaker 4 (01:43):
Mom.

Speaker 3 (01:43):
Now do they have different biodads.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
They do have different biodads.

Speaker 3 (01:47):
So you've got quite a fun mixture in your family.

Speaker 2 (01:50):
It's been the most amazing journey. And I think the
most amazing part was I was in the market at
the grocery store right next to my home, right after
I'd finished all of my impact classes here in my county,
and I remember passing Anthony and Samuel with their foster
mother and looking at them and saying, Gosh, those are
some great looking kids. And then it was about maybe

(02:12):
two and a half to three weeks later that I
got to call and that was the twins that I
was offered.

Speaker 1 (02:17):
So you had seen them in the store and God
quickened your heart and took note of them, having no
idea that that was your sons. Those were your sons
you were taking note of.

Speaker 2 (02:29):
That's exactly right. When I saw the pictures. When we
went to the meeting and I saw them, I knew
that God had his hand on my family.

Speaker 1 (02:37):
Oh definitely, definitely, without a shadow of a doubt.

Speaker 2 (02:41):
Well, it has been the most amazing thing. I can
honestly say that I've never experienced a love that can
make you mad and make you happy and make you cry,
and most of the time even experienced all that at
the same time.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
Hi, good evening, Is this Julie? This is I love
adoption stories? Tell me yours?

Speaker 5 (03:06):
Yeah, so I was sharing or getting ready to adopt
soon again. We had become foster parents, and we used
to work on the other side of a foster family agency,
and then we became emergency foster parents and it was
a two, three and four year old. So we went
from zero kids to three kids over night. Then the

(03:26):
next morning my husband and I look at each other like,
oh my goodness, what just have it?

Speaker 4 (03:31):
You know?

Speaker 3 (03:32):
So and where are those those three children today?

Speaker 5 (03:36):
Well, two of them went to another foster home, and
the little boy we kept for six months, and then
you eventually got adopted. And then through that whole we
were probably foster parents for almost a year. And our
tenth child that came to us, she was our daughter.
And so I had written you guys, because when our

(03:59):
job her who is six years old. Now we had
gotten a call for a four month old baby. She
was the tenth child that was coming to us. But
I'll never forget the day they called. They're like, we
have a four month old baby girl, but she might
be adoptable, but don't plan on it. And I was
just so excited but very scared and nervous, and so

(04:19):
I said, hold on a second, and I talked to
my husband and I said, Dave, they got a four
month old baby girl. What should we do? And I
just never forget. He looked at me, He's like, like,
how can you say no?

Speaker 6 (04:30):
You tell them yes?

Speaker 3 (04:32):
And so it sounds like your husband is an amazing man.

Speaker 5 (04:35):
Oh, he's amazing. I have the best husband ever. Absolutely.

Speaker 3 (04:40):
So the baby came to you four months old? Did
you get her that day?

Speaker 5 (04:44):
Yeah, she came that day. And the crazy thing of
all the kids that came, it wasn't like we were like, Okay,
let's really remember this day. But in the end, we
remember every moment of that day and I just see
God's hand totally and that it's just amazing.

Speaker 1 (04:58):
Let me play a song for you and your family,
and congratulations.

Speaker 3 (05:02):
Thank you for sharing your story.

Speaker 4 (05:05):
Thank you so much.

Speaker 6 (05:06):
I appreciate it.

Speaker 1 (05:17):
Hi.

Speaker 3 (05:17):
Good evening, Hi Delilah.

Speaker 4 (05:20):
This is Heather.

Speaker 7 (05:21):
How are you.

Speaker 3 (05:21):
Tonight, Heather? I'm good. What can I do for you?

Speaker 4 (05:26):
Well? I'm calling for true reason. First, I want to
say thank you for all that you do. You're amazing.
And the second reason I'm calling is because there's a
special little girl in my heart tonight. And she just
turned thirteen today, and she was very far away from

(05:47):
me because I was young, and I wanted her to
have a better life than I could give her. So
I put her out for adoption to a family who
couldn't have kids, and she.

Speaker 7 (06:00):
She's just in my heart tonight, and I was hoping,
even though she doesn't know I'm calling, that you could
find a special song for her tonight, that God can
just bridge the gap between hearts tonight.

Speaker 1 (06:13):
So you're a birth mom and you made the very
painful but very loving choice to place your daughter for adoption.
Is it a closed adoption or an open one? Have
you seen her?

Speaker 4 (06:23):
Do you?

Speaker 3 (06:24):
Are you able to correspond or anything? Or will that
wait until she's older?

Speaker 4 (06:29):
I was at one point, and I think the situation
changed when the pain was just a little too real
for me, and so it's been closed for a while.
But I believe that as I'm getting my life more
on check, that God is going to present the opportunity
where I can see her again and I can show her. Hey,

(06:51):
you know, it's not that you weren't loved, sweetheart, It's
just that I wasn't able to give you what you need.
I mean, she had a call fun.

Speaker 6 (07:01):
Before she was even adopted. She has two parents, a brother,
She's got everything she could ask for, and I couldn't
ask for anything better for her.

Speaker 1 (07:12):
Well, as a mom who was blessed to adopt a
lot of kids.

Speaker 3 (07:16):
Can I just say thank you?

Speaker 4 (07:18):
You are most welcome, and thank you because you're such
an inspiration every night.

Speaker 1 (07:23):
Honey, Hi, who is this?

Speaker 3 (07:31):
This is Shannon Shannon. What can I do for you tonight?

Speaker 8 (07:35):
Oh my gosh, I just have to say I love
your show and I've been listening to you for quite
a long time, but I'm so gray to get through
to you. The reason that I'm calling is I would
like to dedicate a song to my husband Mark. We've
been married twelve years, and during that twelve years, we've
been trying to get pregnant and have a child. And

(07:57):
we've been unsuccessful. But this past March we were able
to adopt a baby girl, so our dreams of family
come true. And he's just been so amazing through everything,
through a whole mirror to the infertility problems, everything, and
I just would like to dedicate to so into him.

Speaker 3 (08:14):
What's your baby's name?

Speaker 8 (08:16):
Isabella Grace.

Speaker 1 (08:17):
Oh that's beautiful, thank you, thank you.

Speaker 3 (08:23):
Oh what a gorgeous name. Now was she a domestic
adoption international?

Speaker 8 (08:28):
She's actually domestic. What is really bizarre is that we
adopted her from a friend and a coworker of mine.
She wasn't ready for a child at this time in
her life, and she knew how much my husband and
I wanted to have children, and she said she couldn't
think of two better people to adopt her baby. So
she's been our angel too. I mean without her, this

(08:50):
couldn't have happened for us.

Speaker 3 (08:52):
Talk about a miracle story.

Speaker 8 (08:54):
Yes, it's definitely a miracle.

Speaker 1 (08:58):
Was the birth mother had she known from the beginning
that you had been struggling with infertility?

Speaker 6 (09:03):
Yes?

Speaker 8 (09:03):
Yes, I've known her for six years and this has
been something that she you know, as soon as she
got pregnant, she knew that this is what she wanted
to do, and she said the only way she'd not,
as you know, given the baby up, is if we
couldn't have adopted. She just wanted her baby to go
to two loving parents that would give her everything that
she needs in life and love her every day for

(09:25):
the rest of her life. And we do. We thank
God every single day for our daughter.

Speaker 1 (09:30):
How cool the God brought the two of you together
and then allowed this generous, loving woman to be the
vessel by which your daughter was brought into the world.

Speaker 8 (09:40):
Exactly He works in mysterious ways, and this is what.

Speaker 1 (09:43):
He meant to do. I so hope you have enjoyed
these radio moments as much as I enjoy bringing them
to you. I'll share more with you each weekday on
Hey It's Delilah.
