Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey, it's Delilah. Thank you for stopping by. I have
put together some of my favorite radio moments here to
share with you on our daily podcast. Hey, it's Delilah.
We love to share wonderful stories, wonderful calls with you,

(00:24):
and today we're going to do a little mashup, a
mashup of some of my favorite calls, old and new.
Welcome aboard. This is Delilah. Who's with me on the
phone line?

Speaker 2 (00:38):
Hi, this is Callie.

Speaker 1 (00:40):
Hi, CALLI welcome aboard. What are you doing tonight?

Speaker 2 (00:44):
Well, I'm sitting in my room with my little sister.

Speaker 3 (00:48):
Hi.

Speaker 1 (00:49):
Hi, girls. What's your little sister's name? Callie?

Speaker 2 (00:53):
My little sister is Kinley.

Speaker 1 (00:55):
And how much older are you?

Speaker 2 (00:58):
I am five years older than her.

Speaker 1 (01:01):
Are you a kind big sister or are you a
mean big sister like I was?

Speaker 2 (01:06):
I'm a kind big sister, but she's a mean little sister. Sometimes.

Speaker 1 (01:14):
I was the world's worst big sister to my little sister.
We were about the same years apart as you, guys,
and I was so jealous.

Speaker 4 (01:24):
Oh that's almost.

Speaker 2 (01:26):
The same way as I am.

Speaker 1 (01:29):
What can I do for you girls tonight?

Speaker 2 (01:31):
I'd like you to play a song for my sister.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
Oh see, you are a great big sister. What can
I play for you? I'm not sure, so I will
find a song about girls for you. Two girls. Okay,
thank you so much, Thank you so much. Thank you
for being a great big sister.

Speaker 2 (01:49):
Of course, have a good night.

Speaker 1 (01:51):
Bye bye. Hi, good evening. You've called the Delilah Show.
Welcome aboard. Who is this? It's Lacey, Lacy Welcome. How
can I help you?

Speaker 5 (02:10):
Well, my mom she's just not doing very well. We're
not sure how much longer we're gonna be able to
have her. She's in a nursing home and she's really
actually confused. She's talking to people that aren't really there,

(02:33):
and she's just not completely all there. And you know,
we're just needing a lot of prayer.

Speaker 1 (02:43):
So it's kind of all on you. Or do you
have other family members with you?

Speaker 5 (02:48):
No, it's just all me, my husband and my boys.

Speaker 1 (02:53):
Wow, that's a lot, because you sound young. How old
are you?

Speaker 5 (02:57):
Twenty nine? I just turned twenty nine in December.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
Oh, girlfriend, you are just a child yourself.

Speaker 5 (03:04):
Yeah, and I just got married in January.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
So I wish I could give you a hug through
the airwaves. Wow. I will play a song for you
and off the air. Can I say a prayer with you?

Speaker 5 (03:19):
Yes, ma'am, Thank you so much for violence.

Speaker 1 (03:32):
Hi, good evening, Welcome to the Delilah Show. Who is this?

Speaker 5 (03:36):
Hello?

Speaker 4 (03:37):
This is Bella, Hi Bella.

Speaker 1 (03:39):
What can I do for you tonight?

Speaker 4 (03:42):
I just wanted to dedicate a song to my boyfriend
of four years. We've been going through a little bit
of a difficult time. We are long distance and have
been super busy with her jobs in college. But today,
out of the blue, I found a bouquet of flowers
that he had delivered to in my porch, and he
just means the world to me, and he makes me

(04:04):
feel like, well, the luckiest girls in the world.

Speaker 1 (04:07):
So is there light at the end of the tunnel?
Do you see an end to the years apart? Is
there a plan a future? Or are you just taking
it day by day and that's what's wearing you down.

Speaker 4 (04:21):
I do feel like there is light, and I feel
like I know it sounds cheesy, but sometimes I feel
like he's he could be the one and I've been
praying about a lot.

Speaker 1 (04:32):
Why does that sound cheesy? If you spend four years
building a relationship with this young man. That doesn't sound cheesy,
that sounds wise.

Speaker 3 (04:40):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (04:41):
I'm just I'm very thankful for him, and I know
things can be a little bit hard, but I know that.
I thought, that's what God wants, that's that can happen.

Speaker 1 (04:52):
Is that what you want?

Speaker 3 (04:53):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (04:54):
So he's he's he's got the all the boxes are checked.
He's kind, he's compassionate, he's sensitive, he's honest, he loves
the Lord. He loves you.

Speaker 3 (05:06):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (05:07):
Check check check check check yes. And when are you
guys done with school?

Speaker 4 (05:13):
I have about a couple more years, like two more years,
and he has about two more years as well, So
it'll be a little while.

Speaker 1 (05:21):
I will be here as the bridge between your hearts.
Thank you and tell him that I said, good job
on the flowers. That was That was a very sweet gesture.
Let me play a song for you.

Speaker 4 (05:34):
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (05:41):
Hi, good evening, Thank you for your patience. Who is this?

Speaker 6 (05:44):
My name is DeAndre?

Speaker 1 (05:47):
Tell me your story?

Speaker 6 (05:48):
Okay, So I met this man after a lot of
healing a lot of time. Isn't a bad situation. To
make it short, it's domestic violence. Finally got out of
it right before my dad died. I feel like that
was maybe his wish to me is to get me
out of a bad spot, a bad place. He passed

(06:10):
not too long ago, and before he had passed, I
told him about this boy, and he's just amazing. I
can't say anything more than I'm so glad that I
did my own healing and I was ready to accept him.

Speaker 1 (06:25):
So you went through a lot of healing, you decided
to take the steps to make your heart healthy and whole,
and now you met somebody who is worthy of your time.

Speaker 6 (06:36):
Oh one hundred and ten percent. I've since the moment
I met him, I felt like this was all I
needed and I just really felt complete. He loves meeting
and my kids, and we have a couple of dogs
now together, we're planning on building a house and I
just love him. I just found my person in life
after such a long, hard life, and I hope everybody

(07:00):
in my situation finds that person for themselves.

Speaker 1 (07:04):
I am happy for you, honey. What is his name?

Speaker 6 (07:08):
His name is Christian.

Speaker 1 (07:10):
I will play a song for you and the family
that you are building together.

Speaker 2 (07:14):
Thank you so much.

Speaker 6 (07:16):
Thank you for answering me. I listen to you all
the time. I just pulled into the grocery stern. I
was on hold and I'm like doing my bottles, and
I'm like, I gotta stop her. And I've waited my
whole life for her.

Speaker 1 (07:30):
Well, thank you for stopping, for pulling over, thank you
for listening all these years, and thank you for working
on you so I can find the perfect love song now.

Speaker 6 (07:39):
Thank you so much.

Speaker 2 (07:41):
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (07:48):
Hi Lewis, Welcome to the Delilah Show. What can I
do to make your night a little bit sweeter?

Speaker 3 (07:54):
You know what? I love your show. I drive a truck.
I'm on the road all week, and I wanted to
tell you I love your d stage and love listening
to you. I want to set us out out to
my wife Jamie, who's at home.

Speaker 1 (08:05):
So are you driving like an over the road eighteen
wheeler diesel kind of beast?

Speaker 3 (08:10):
Yes? Yes, I got a fifty three further with a sleeper.

Speaker 1 (08:15):
And how many days a week? Are usually on the road.

Speaker 3 (08:18):
Five to six days a week and then I come
home for two days.

Speaker 1 (08:21):
Ah, So your wife misses you a lot? So this
is really.

Speaker 3 (08:26):
Yes, and I miss her too. I've been with her,
have been married her for twenty six years. We've been
together for almost thirty and how.

Speaker 1 (08:32):
Many of those years thirty years have you been driving?

Speaker 3 (08:36):
Actually only about ten years. I did construction work for
us for a long time.

Speaker 1 (08:41):
So you're one of those hard working people that has
amazing work ethics and work values, and you don't slow
down until you, like, you know, your body quits working
and you have to take a little time.

Speaker 3 (08:54):
But when you got kids that lightly got a keyboard.

Speaker 1 (08:57):
Then well I know that and you know that. But
it seems like these days a lot of people don't
know that.

Speaker 3 (09:04):
Oh no, man, I tell you what. I got three kids.
They do really good. They're doing good for themselves, and
they stay in school. As long as they do that,
I'll keep working for them.

Speaker 1 (09:13):
All right, Dad, I'm proud of you. I will play
a song for your beloved to let her know how
much you're missing her. Thank you for letting me be
a part. I feel like your companion. I feel like
I'm sitting there in the truck by your side, traveling
down the highways and byways with you.

Speaker 3 (09:30):
You better believe when I listen to you on the radio,
you wake me up. But I can keep driving listening
to you, all right.

Speaker 1 (09:36):
You stay tuned. God bless you.

Speaker 3 (09:39):
You gotta have a good one. Thank you.

Speaker 1 (09:44):
I so hope you have enjoyed these radio moments as
much as I enjoy bringing them to you. I'll share
more with you each weekday on Hey It's Delilah Zo
