Speaker 1 (00:02):
Hey, it's Delilah. Thank you for stopping by. I have
put together some of my favorite radio moments here to
share with you on our daily podcast. Hey it's Delilah.
Today we're going to mash up a bunch of great colors,
(00:23):
some from the past, some new, some old, all of
them fabulous.
Speaker 2 (00:30):
Hi.
Speaker 1 (00:31):
Good evening, you've called the Delilah Show. Who is this?
This is Maria.
Speaker 3 (00:36):
I'm with my two kids, Sebastian and Melonica. And Sebastian
so the message about homework was directly to him, and
I said to him, I call her about the homework,
and he kindaly doubt it because he was giving me
hard time to.
Speaker 1 (00:56):
Do his homework, and so he thought I was speaking
directly to him, when actually I was probably speaking directly
to my children more than him.
Speaker 3 (01:06):
That's funny.
Speaker 1 (01:07):
Let me say hi to Sebastian. Hi, Hi, Sebastian. How
are you? What grade are you in Beth? And do
you have a lot of homework or do you have
a little bit but you put it off a lot
a lot? Yeah. Is it hard for you to sit
(01:28):
still and concentrate?
Speaker 4 (01:30):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (01:31):
Yeah, me too. What's your favorite class?
Speaker 5 (01:35):
By? Math?
Speaker 1 (01:36):
Math? Is your favorite and it's my worst.
Speaker 4 (01:40):
Oh yeah, my little sister, Veronica wants to talk to you.
Speaker 1 (01:43):
All right, let me say hi to Veronica. Hi, Hi,
how are you are you in school?
Speaker 3 (01:50):
I'm in second grade.
Speaker 1 (01:52):
Are you excited about school this year? Yeah? I'm going
to play a song for your whole family. Okay, thank
you so much. All right, thank you. You have a
great night, you too, Bye bye, honey, thank you, Lailah,
bye bye bye. Good evening. It's Delilah. Who is on
(02:18):
the phone line with me?
Speaker 2 (02:20):
Hi, Delilah, it's Clara.
Speaker 1 (02:22):
How are you, hi, Clara? I am wonderful. How are
you well?
Speaker 2 (02:26):
I had like a little mishaps on July nineteenth. I
had fell and I broke my hip hat surgery. I'm
getting better, but I sort of missed my husband. He'll
be he passed away, going to be two years September seventeenth,
and I would love to have you play a song
(02:48):
because I miss him dearly.
Speaker 1 (02:50):
So you're recovering from a broken hip, yes, and trying
to recover from a broken heart exactly. I think the
hip it's gonna heal a whole lot faster than the heart.
Speaker 2 (03:02):
You're right, I mean, you know, you go through something
like this. You're married for eighteen years, you finally found
your true love. It's hard, It's really hard. So I
would just like to have you play something from me
to him that I missed sin terribly.
Speaker 1 (03:19):
I will do that, and I'll say a prayer for
your heart.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
Thank you, Calilah.
Speaker 1 (03:24):
I'm so sorry, Thank you God, bless you. Han. Hi,
good evening, you've called the Delilah Show. Who is on
the phone line with me?
Speaker 2 (03:42):
Hi?
Speaker 1 (03:43):
This is Michael Him, Michael, welcome. Who is on your
heart tonight?
Speaker 4 (03:48):
My wonderful, wonderful wife, Carla?
Speaker 1 (03:51):
Tell me about Carla.
Speaker 4 (03:53):
Sure. So, Carla and I have a long and very
history for one of those beautiful love stories that's once
in a lifetime and almost doesn't happen, because when you've
been through life and had a lot of heartbreak, you
meet the person that is almost too good to be true,
and you believe that they're too good to be true,
and when you act out of that fear, you sometimes
(04:13):
miss the once in a lifetime chance. And then sometimes
you have a story like ours, where one is able
to have a twice in a lifetime opportunity. And I
find myself grateful every day to be married to her
grateful every day that you know, we can just be
the best versions of ourselves and have this incredible love
that is so worthy of the work.
Speaker 1 (04:33):
So how did you meet and how did you almost
miss this golden nugget, this diamond right before you?
Speaker 4 (04:42):
We are both big dancers, and I had just gotten
out of a really painful divorce and I was getting
back into dance now as a single man, and I
went to this dance festival that was centered around both
dance but also conscious communit medications and intimacy. So it
was this really beautiful, spiritual kind of event. And I
(05:05):
went there and that's where Carlave was, and her and
I spent feels like hours dancing together, and it was
really not dancing that was you know, all up and
down the walls, you know, doing flashing moves, but really
this immense connection and it was something that neither of
us had really felt before in our lives. And we
(05:25):
ended up just staying walk like that for hours. We
ended up talking for hours afterwards, and then spending i
want to say, the next couple of days together. And
even though everything walked into place when it came to,
you know, being able to make a commitment to this,
especially because we were long we would have been long
distance because she lived far away. It was hard for
(05:47):
me to actually commit as a newly single guy. And
I was also seeing getting to know other women at
the same time, and it was hard for me to
commit to this incredible woman I saw in front of
me because I was so afraid, you know, I was
seeing what I wanted to see, and that maybe I
was seeing things that weren't.
Speaker 1 (06:02):
Quite there, so you couldn't believe it. She was truly
too good to be true.
Speaker 4 (06:09):
Well from my perspective, at least that's how it seemed.
Even though as I've spent now several months happily married
to her and a year and eight months in this
incredible relationship, she clearly is everything she seemed to be
and more.
Speaker 1 (06:30):
Katie, Hi, Welcome to the Delilah Show. Who was on
your heart tonight? My dad? What's your daddy's name?
Speaker 5 (06:38):
Kelly?
Speaker 1 (06:39):
And how old are you?
Speaker 5 (06:41):
Fourteen?
Speaker 1 (06:42):
And who do you live with? You live with your father?
Speaker 5 (06:45):
My mom?
Speaker 1 (06:46):
Okay, so how often do you get to see your dad?
Speaker 5 (06:50):
I haven't seen him in two years.
Speaker 1 (06:52):
Does he not have visitation?
Speaker 5 (06:55):
We live in different states?
Speaker 1 (06:57):
Does he not make the effort to come to your
stay to see you.
Speaker 5 (07:01):
Well, he kind of can't. He's disabled, so we don't
get to see each other. And I try to call him,
but he never really calls us, and it kind of
drives me crazy.
Speaker 1 (07:14):
So you're longing for a father daughter relationship and for
whatever reason, Dad's just not able to give that.
Speaker 5 (07:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (07:23):
Have you ever drank water out of a well?
Speaker 5 (07:27):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (07:27):
Do you know what a hand pump looks like, like
an old fashioned pump on a well where you pump
it up and down and fresh water comes out. Yes,
But when a well runs dry and there's no water
at the bottom of the well, you can pump and
pump and pump and pump, and you're never going to
get fresh water out of that well that's run dry.
(07:49):
So it sounds like your father is kind of like
a well that's run dry. He doesn't have the kind
of love and attention you need. So it might be
a good idea to find someone in your life, in
your church, maybe one of your best friend's dads who's
(08:10):
a nice guy, not some freak or perv, but some
nice guy that you know and trust that can be
there for you and be good to you. Okay, okay,
I'll play a song for you because I would. I
would just love to give you a big, huggy sound
like such a good kid and your dad is the
one who's missing out. No, that your daddy's missing out
(08:33):
on a beautiful young lady.
Speaker 5 (08:36):
Thank you.
Speaker 1 (08:39):
I so hope you have enjoyed these radio moments as
much as I enjoy bringing them to you. I'll share
more with you each weekday on Hey It's Delilah.
Speaker 4 (08:50):
Do you
