share with you on our daily podcast.
Speaker 2 (00:18):
Hey it's Delilah. We love to share.
Speaker 1 (00:21):
Wonderful stories, wonderful calls with you, and today we're going
to do a little mash up, a mashup of some
of my favorite calls, old and new.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
Hi, good evening. Who's this?
Speaker 3 (00:34):
This is Sherry?
Speaker 4 (00:35):
What can I do for you?
Speaker 1 (00:36):
Sherry?
Speaker 3 (00:37):
I'd like you to play a song for my friend Faith.
Speaker 4 (00:40):
What do you want to tell Faith?
Speaker 3 (00:41):
I want to tell her that I really appreciate her
being there for me. If it wasn't for her, I
don't know where I'd be at today. I'm recovering drug
adic an alcoholic, and she's been there through the thickenness
in and I can call her day or night and
she's just She's always there, and I don't know where
I would be without.
Speaker 4 (01:00):
Sounds like she lives up to her name.
Speaker 3 (01:02):
Yeah, she does, definitely does.
Speaker 2 (01:04):
How old are you? I'm thirty nine and how long
have you been using for?
Speaker 3 (01:09):
Like one and off for nineteen years?
Speaker 2 (01:11):
Okay, so this is rearranging your entire life?
Speaker 3 (01:15):
Yeah, yeah, it is and plus I'm a nurse too,
so I'm got to get my life straight up so
I don't lose my license.
Speaker 1 (01:21):
Also, so well, I first want to say congratulations to
you for being courageous and facing it honestly and not
staying stuck in denial act so many of us.
Speaker 3 (01:31):
Like to, Oh, yeah, I did for a long time.
Speaker 1 (01:34):
Isn't denial a lovely place to be? You can just
pretend like everything's okay.
Speaker 3 (01:39):
Yeah, it's a wonderful state to be and everything's perfect,
no matter how crappy it is.
Speaker 2 (01:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:44):
Yeah, I know people that you stand back and you go,
how can you honestly pretend that this lie you're living
is okay?
Speaker 4 (01:52):
And they're like, no, be quiet, leave me alone and
go away.
Speaker 5 (01:55):
I can't hear you. La la la la la la la.
Speaker 2 (01:57):
My life is good.
Speaker 3 (01:59):
Yeah, that's true. And it's not the alcohol and the
drink problem.
Speaker 1 (02:02):
You know.
Speaker 3 (02:02):
It's everybody else that that has a problem, not you. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (02:06):
Well, I'm proud of you, and I'm glad that faith
is a faithful friend. Let me play a song for
you Friday night, girls. All right, thank you, bye bye, Hi,
good evening.
Speaker 2 (02:20):
Welcome to the Delilah Show. Who is this.
Speaker 6 (02:24):
How are you doing, mister Laila? My name is Warren.
Speaker 2 (02:26):
I'm good Warren. How are you?
Speaker 6 (02:29):
I can't I can't complain, you know. And I got
to work later on today at at twelve o'clock. You
know how you know how it is?
Speaker 2 (02:36):
So what do you do? You work all night? What's
your job?
Speaker 6 (02:39):
I work at a shop and a dairy department.
Speaker 2 (02:41):
Actually, ah, very cool?
Speaker 6 (02:44):
Thank you? Can I ask your opinion or something?
Speaker 5 (02:47):
Sure?
Speaker 6 (02:48):
I looked this girl at my job actually, and she's
been in a bad relationship over the summer and not
kind of like her. But I'm my shoulder and she
know if I'm feeling her. And I check this out.
Her birthday is it's coming Wednesday? What shall I do?
Speaker 2 (03:08):
You should get her some flowers?
Speaker 6 (03:10):
Flowers I was thinking about doing.
Speaker 1 (03:12):
Actually, Okay, I would say in the card, if you'd
ever liked to go out for coffee, please let me know.
Speaker 2 (03:19):
Here's my number.
Speaker 6 (03:20):
Okay, that's only a good idea.
Speaker 1 (03:23):
Something kind of low key, you know, no pressure, but
so that she knows how you feel.
Speaker 6 (03:30):
Okay, I'll keep that in mind. Definitely. All right, good plan,
Good luck, thank you, have a good night.
Speaker 2 (03:46):
Hi, good evening.
Speaker 1 (03:47):
Hey, it's Delilah, who's with me on the phone line. Hi,
this is welcome aboard. What can I do for you?
Speaker 7 (03:56):
First of all, I love your show, Thank you very much. Well,
I just wanna see if you can play a song
a song for my wife. Her name is Nanette, and
right now we're going through having a rough time right
now a relationship. I just want to know if you
can dedicate a song for her. She's an amazing wife,
(04:21):
an amazing mom, and I never have a chance to
tell her how much I love you, how much I
appreciates everything that she does for me and for our family,
and I just want her to know that I love
her and I love my family.
Speaker 2 (04:36):
So do you and your wife live together?
Speaker 3 (04:38):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (04:39):
We do, okay, So why do you say that you
never have a chance to tell her how much you
love her.
Speaker 7 (04:45):
I always have a hard time show my feelings.
Speaker 1 (04:48):
So it's it's not that you don't have a chance
to tell her, it's that you don't have the ability
to tell her. Yeah, So what we need to do
is work on and healing your heart. Whatever happened to
you that puts your heart inside of a cage so
(05:08):
that you can't share it with your wife. You sound
to me like you got a great heart. You got
to work on that, dude. A woman needs to know
she's loved. She needs to know she's cherished. She needs
to know that she's honored. She needs to know that
she's adored.
Speaker 7 (05:27):
Yeah, you're right.
Speaker 1 (05:29):
Thank you so very much for telling me that. All right,
you work on sharing your heart and I'll work on
sharing a song.
Speaker 4 (05:41):
What can I do for you, Jennifer?
Speaker 5 (05:43):
I just want you to play a song for my
boyfriend tonight.
Speaker 4 (05:46):
What's his name?
Speaker 5 (05:47):
His name is Anthony.
Speaker 4 (05:49):
You sound so chipper? Are you always this chipper of
the time?
Speaker 7 (05:54):
Good for you?
Speaker 1 (05:57):
So your personality is chipper? Or Anthony just makes you.
I'm so happy you can't help.
Speaker 4 (06:01):
But be chipper.
Speaker 5 (06:01):
Probably a little of both.
Speaker 4 (06:03):
I see and tell me about this Anthony.
Speaker 5 (06:06):
He is a great guy. He's helping me to raise
my two children, and then we also have two of
his as well, so they keep us busy. And I
lost my job a year ago, and Anthony has been
supporting me financially and emotionally while I go back to
school to get my nursing degree.
Speaker 1 (06:23):
So it sounds to me like you guys are a family.
We are are we going to make this permanent?
Speaker 5 (06:28):
I hope so does he ask? Not yet. We discussed it,
but we're kind of waiting until I'm through with school.
Speaker 1 (06:36):
That's a big risk he's taken on you then, I know.
I mean, if he is willing to.
Speaker 4 (06:40):
Invest in you and support you and your babies while you.
Speaker 1 (06:43):
Go to school and it's not you know, formal, he's
taken a big rasp.
Speaker 3 (06:49):
That's right.
Speaker 5 (06:50):
He's a good guy.
Speaker 4 (06:51):
I'd say he must love you or something.
Speaker 1 (06:53):
I hope.
Speaker 4 (06:54):
So let's hope. So you know, the holidays are coming
up right around the corner.
Speaker 1 (06:59):
Maybe deside little laby something sparkly would be in keeping
with the holiday traditions. That's right, I'll sparkle on the tree.
Speaker 5 (07:11):
The kids are pushing it, so that helps.
Speaker 1 (07:15):
Oh, he's not going to stand a chance then with
me being too well, I'm glad you got a good
man by your side.
Speaker 4 (07:22):
Who's helping you with your children.
Speaker 5 (07:24):
Thank you.
Speaker 4 (07:24):
Do you have a song that is your song? Or
shall I find one for you?
Speaker 5 (07:27):
I really don't have one. I would love for you
to pick one.
Speaker 4 (07:30):
Okay, I will find a good one, okay.
Speaker 1 (07:34):
I so hope you have enjoyed these radio moments as
much as I enjoy bringing them to you, I'll share
more with you each weekday on Hey it's Delilah
