Speaker 1 (00:46):
Oh, you sound like you are in a good mood.
Have you been a very good.
Speaker 2 (00:49):
Girl this year?
Speaker 3 (00:50):
Yes, I've been a very good mood.
Speaker 2 (00:52):
So you think Santa's bringing the loot?
Speaker 1 (00:55):
I'm not sure.
Speaker 3 (00:56):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (00:57):
You don't know you've been a good girl.
Speaker 1 (00:59):
Though you've been, you've it's nice not naughty, right, Okay,
how old are you?
Speaker 3 (01:04):
I'm seventeen, right, Sure.
Speaker 2 (01:06):
You've always been nice. And I believe that, Nicole.
Speaker 1 (01:11):
Uh huh.
Speaker 2 (01:11):
What's your boyfriend's name?
Speaker 3 (01:13):
His name is Brian?
Speaker 2 (01:14):
Uh huh.
Speaker 1 (01:15):
And if I called like all of your girlfriends and
asked them, would they say that you've aired more on
the naughty or the nice list?
Speaker 3 (01:23):
Probably? The nice list. My best friend is here right now.
She'd probably say it was on the nice.
Speaker 2 (01:27):
How about your mom, she'd probably.
Speaker 3 (01:30):
Say it was on the nice list this year too.
Speaker 1 (01:32):
Really, Yeah, at seventeen, your mom would say you were
on the nice list.
Speaker 2 (01:35):
At seventeen, my mom would say I was a demon.
Speaker 3 (01:38):
I don't know. I talk a lot, but I'm usually
a pretty nice person, and I behaved pretty well.
Speaker 2 (01:44):
I talked a lot too, mostly to my mom. I
talked back at seventeen.
Speaker 4 (01:48):
Yeah, same with me.
Speaker 1 (01:49):
Yeah, that's not nice, honey, not nice. That's not on
the nice list when you talk fresh to mom. And
at seventeen, that's all I did.
Speaker 5 (01:57):
Who I had a bad attitude.
Speaker 2 (02:01):
I thought I knew so much at seventeen.
Speaker 3 (02:04):
That's what my mom says too.
Speaker 1 (02:05):
Now I'm much much older, and I realized I knew nothing.
I knew nothing then, I know even less now.
Speaker 2 (02:12):
But I sure have fun. What can I do for
you tonight, young lady?
Speaker 1 (02:15):
Oh well, I'm with my best friend Jenny, and we
had some things that You've always been nice, even though
you're talking back fresh to mom. Yes, okay, it's confession session.
If you want to hear a song tonight, you have
to tell the truth.
Speaker 3 (02:27):
Yeah, we do want to hear a song.
Speaker 1 (02:28):
Okay, then you're gonna have to tell the truth with
the next question, I ask you. Okay, have you ever
told your mom you were going to the library or
going to study when really you and Ginny were going
out to get into trouble and mischief.
Speaker 3 (02:40):
Honestly, No, honestly, no, honestly, no, I tell her. I
usually tell my mom everything.
Speaker 1 (02:46):
Okay, all right, then you get on the nice list. Now,
what can Santa do for you? What song do you want?
Speaker 3 (02:53):
Well, our favorite song, our favorite Christmas song is jingle
Bells by Frank Sinatra.
Speaker 2 (02:59):
And you want to hear that.
Speaker 3 (03:00):
Yeah, because we used to work together and we both
worked in Starbucks and they used to play it all
the time and you dance to it and turn it up.
Speaker 1 (03:07):
Okay, I'll play that for you if I can get
a vine Chai ti latte, seven pumps of chai.
Speaker 2 (03:12):
All right, sound good, Okay, it's a deal.
Speaker 4 (03:16):
All right.
Speaker 5 (03:17):
You have a good night, sweetie. I'm glad you're a
good kid.
Speaker 6 (03:20):
Thank you you too, Bye bye bye.
Speaker 1 (03:28):
I received this letter from Bob, who says my younger
brother was in the US Army stationed in Vietnam. He
had been there since March, and his enlistment was up
in February of sixty eight. We hadn't heard from him
for several weeks. On December twenty third, he called from
O'Hare Airport and was home. The song I'll be home
(03:49):
for Christmas took on a whole new meaning. Our family
felt reborn. The following year, I worked at United Airlines.
On Christmas Eve, actually early Christmas morning, I sat alone
in a freight area during my lunch break. On a
cart was a wooden crate containing a US military coffin.
I don't know who he was or where he was going,
(04:13):
but I'll be home for Christmas again took on another meeting.
Please remember those in the military who are in harm's way, Bob.
We will pray for all the military families. Janet, I welcome.
(04:35):
This is Delilah.
Speaker 2 (04:36):
How are you.
Speaker 4 (04:37):
I'm fine? How are you?
Speaker 2 (04:38):
Happy? Holidays?
Speaker 4 (04:40):
Same to you.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
Tell me your story.
Speaker 4 (04:43):
Well, when I was a little girl, about seven years old.
Speaker 2 (04:46):
That was just a couple of years ago.
Speaker 4 (04:49):
Yes, I wish we were at my grandparents' house on
Christmas Eve, and I don't know. It got to be
about eight or eight thirty and my cousin and my
sister and I heard the jingle bells and we knew
they were the sleigh bells, so we all ran to
the front door. My grandmother opened the door and there
(05:11):
were three new bikes on the porch, one for each
of us. And to me, that was the most magical
Christmas because we just knew that we saw Santa. We
told them that we saw him going down the street.
Speaker 1 (05:25):
So he came a little bit early and he left
you three brand new bikes.
Speaker 4 (05:29):
Yes, how cool was.
Speaker 2 (05:30):
That year for you?
Speaker 4 (05:32):
Well? That was It's wonderful, I thought, And that's my
favorite memory of Christmas.
Speaker 5 (05:38):
And do you have children or grandchildren?
Speaker 1 (05:40):
Now?
Speaker 4 (05:41):
I have a daughter and no grandchildren yet.
Speaker 1 (05:44):
And when that time comes, do you think Santa might
you know, remember to bring a bike again?
Speaker 4 (05:49):
Oh? I imagine he's.
Speaker 5 (05:52):
Pretty good about that. Well, thank you for sharing.
Speaker 1 (05:56):
You have a wonderful, magical holiday season. Okay too, Jenna,
welcome to the Delilah Show. I understand you have a
precious angel on your heart.
Speaker 2 (06:11):
This holiday season.
Speaker 6 (06:13):
Yes, I do.
Speaker 2 (06:14):
Tell me about your daughter.
Speaker 6 (06:15):
I have an eleven year old daughter who is extraordinarily
generous and kind and loving and caring, and she listens
to your show every night. So I just got to
be stressful to call you up and maybe she could
hear a dedication for her or something like that.
Speaker 5 (06:35):
And there's somebody else you're thinking about.
Speaker 6 (06:38):
Yeah, three kids actually, But the biggest thing, the biggest
Christmas present for us this year is my husband is home.
He's we're military, and this is the first Christmas he's
been home in a couple of years.
Speaker 1 (06:49):
Oh, so this is going to be a fabulous Christmas.
To create a million memories.
Speaker 6 (06:55):
Yes, we're going to see my parents. So we're going
out of state and you're going to.
Speaker 1 (06:58):
Bake cookies and you're going to take lots of pictures
and you're going to decorate a tree.
Speaker 6 (07:04):
We're going to stay in a nice hotel with a
swimming pool.
Speaker 1 (07:07):
Oh wow, Yes, that's not your traditional Christmas memory, but
you'll have fun.
Speaker 6 (07:14):
My parents live right nearby of the hotel, so that's
why we're going there.
Speaker 2 (07:18):
Well, you have a wonderful time with your family.
Speaker 6 (07:21):
Thank you very much.
Speaker 2 (07:22):
What's your daughter's name?
Speaker 6 (07:24):
Her name is Stephanie.
Speaker 2 (07:25):
And the other two.
Speaker 6 (07:27):
The other two Anthony's my oldest. He has autism. And
then Nicholas is Stephanie's twin.
Speaker 2 (07:33):
I'll play a song for all three of them.
Speaker 6 (07:36):
Thank you very very much.
Speaker 2 (07:37):
Merry Christmas, Honey.
Speaker 6 (07:38):
Merry Christmas to you.
Speaker 2 (07:42):
I so hope you have enjoyed these radio moments as
much as I enjoy bringing them to you.
Speaker 1 (07:47):
