heartache and healing from above. It's the variety of callers
and stories that make this such a special place to

Speaker 2 (00:37):
Welcome to Hey it's Delilah.
Speaker 1 (00:43):
Tia Hi, Welcome to the Delilah Show.
Speaker 2 (00:46):
Thank you are you, I'm wonderful.
Speaker 3 (00:49):
Welcome to our Friday Night Girls edition of The Delilah Show,
where we encourage girlfriends, best friends, sister friends to get together.
Speaker 2 (00:58):
Tell me about your your girlfriends.
Speaker 4 (01:00):
Well, I was online one time looking for a little
support type of groups, and I ran across a website
for military spouses and fiance's girlfriends and whatnot. And we
started talking and they're they're just a great group of girls,
and some of them live around me. And so every
once and now, well whenever we can, Friday is Saturdays.
(01:21):
We don't care what day it is. Well, we try
to get together. We go fishing, we do a lot
of scrapbooking. A lot of us are without our our
significant others. Mine of in Korea right now.
Speaker 2 (01:36):
So are you?
Speaker 3 (01:36):
Are you a military wife a military girlfriend? Where are
we in this process?
Speaker 4 (01:41):
I am the fiancee.
Speaker 2 (01:43):
And what are your girlfriend's names? Do you want to
give me some names?
Speaker 5 (01:46):
Here?
Speaker 2 (01:46):
The ladies you're hanging out with this weekend, oh boy.
Speaker 4 (01:49):
There's lots of them. There's Tatiana and Aaron, Becky, Maria, Tabitha.
Oh boy, I think that'll be this week. But there's
so many more. There's about fifty of us. I mean,
not all of them live in the area, so most
of them we have our little cat nights. The ones
that can't come, but the ones that can always have
(02:12):
so much fun. You can just sit around and laugh
or cry or go out and like I said, scrapbook
and quin fishing and does anything to take our minds
off of our situation. It's so much fun.
Speaker 3 (02:26):
And do you have a song you want to hear
for all your friends or you want me to find one.
Speaker 4 (02:31):
I think you can find one.
Speaker 1 (02:33):
You do a great job, all right.
Speaker 2 (02:35):
I will do that for you. You have a great night. Tea.
Speaker 5 (02:39):
Thank you, hi Verne, hi Elilah, how are you?
Speaker 2 (02:48):
I'm wonderful? What can I do? For you.
Speaker 5 (02:50):
My wife and I are separated over an issue that
we can't seem to get resolved or agree on.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
What are you and your wife separated of her?
Speaker 5 (02:57):
She's older than I am, and her son and grandson
and have some problems that because of prior problems. I
have told her I don't want them in our home,
and she says, I'm going to have them in my
home and if you don't like it, you can leave.
So I left. But nobody's used the D word yet,
and I hope we don't. We've been married for twenty
(03:20):
two years.
Speaker 6 (03:21):
And Verne, never, never, whatever, ever make a woman choose
between you and her child, because you will lose.
Speaker 5 (03:32):
Yeah, I know. But if I have to take a
stand on an issue and lose, I'm going to have
to lose.
Speaker 2 (03:39):
Why. You know what it sounds like?
Speaker 3 (03:41):
And I could be very wrong, but it sounds like
this person has done some destructive things, yes, Yes, made
some bad choices, yes, And because you love this woman
with every fiber of your body, you want to protect
her and yourself from his bad choices, right, And that's
the only reason that you're taking a stand, Not because
you don't care for him, not because you don't love him,
(04:01):
not because you're being the wicked stepfather, but because you
love your wife fiercely.
Speaker 2 (04:05):
And want to protect her.
Speaker 5 (04:06):
Right.
Speaker 2 (04:07):
But you know what, she's an adult.
Speaker 3 (04:11):
If she were a child, I would say, you know,
you need to protect her, But she's an adult and
you can't make her see the truth of this thing
because she's blinded by her love. Okay, it's better to
be effective than to be right. You are right, you
(04:31):
are very right, but being right isn't fixing your family.
Good evening, you've called Delilah.
Speaker 1 (04:48):
Hi?
Speaker 2 (04:48):
Who is this Hi? I'm a named Dakota High Dakota.
How can I make your night more peaceful?
Speaker 3 (04:57):
So?
Speaker 4 (04:58):
I have this boyfriend and I was wondering, is you
have any advice on how to how I can tell
him that he's not a great kisser.
Speaker 1 (05:09):
Oh, dear, this is not a good sign. This is
really not a good sign.
Speaker 5 (05:15):
I know. I don't know how to tell him.
Speaker 1 (05:18):
You're just gonna have to come out and say, You're
gonna have to say, dude, back off here. Let me
show you. I will kiss you the way I want
to be kissed. Yeah, Like, is there a lot of
stuff he does that annoys you or is this it?
Speaker 7 (05:33):
No?
Speaker 3 (05:34):
This is it?
Speaker 2 (05:35):
This is it?
Speaker 5 (05:35):
Well?
Speaker 2 (05:35):
This is a big one, you know, yeah, yeah it
is okay.
Speaker 1 (05:39):
Well you're just gonna have to come out and say, okay,
I am going to demonstrate the way that I would
like to be kissed and take notes follow along if
you would.
Speaker 2 (05:51):
Yeah, and see how that goes.
Speaker 1 (05:53):
Hi, thank you, good luck, thank you, bye.
Speaker 2 (06:04):
Hi, good evening. You've called the Delilah Show. Who is this?
Speaker 1 (06:08):
Hi?
Speaker 7 (06:08):
This is Deborah?
Speaker 2 (06:09):
Hi Deborah? What can I do for you tonight?
Speaker 7 (06:13):
I'm going to have you play a song for my
husband and I. It definitely wasn't love at first fight
for you to one of us. He thought I was
a snob, and I was wondering if he actually had
it all together or not. But we have been married
forty one years in May, so yeah, there's something I
guess to be said for always take a second look
(06:33):
or something. Get to know somebody never judge a book
by its cover, all those kinds of cliches.
Speaker 1 (06:38):
So you weren't that impressed with him, and he thought
you were a snob, that you thought you were too
good for him?
Speaker 2 (06:46):
Is that it?
Speaker 6 (06:48):
No?
Speaker 7 (06:48):
I guess I was a little standoffish maybe, but anyway.
Speaker 1 (06:52):
I don't know, a little standoffish maybe are you maybe shy?
Speaker 7 (06:58):
Possibly a little bit. Yeah, I'm not really sure what
the whole situation was, but whatever.
Speaker 1 (07:03):
It was, it worked out because now you've been together
all these years.
Speaker 7 (07:07):
Yes, we are each other's complimentary half.
Speaker 1 (07:11):
You have a great night, you too, Thank you, thank you,
good night, honey. I so hope you have enjoyed these
radio moments as much as I enjoy bringing them to you.
I'll share more with you each weekday on eight, It's
