Speaker 1 (00:02):
Hey, it's Delilah. Thank you for stopping by. I have
put together some of my favorite radio moments here to
share with you on our daily podcast.
Speaker 2 (00:18):
Hey it's Delilah.
Speaker 1 (00:20):
I want to tell you you are wonderful just the
way you are. You don't have to change, you don't
have to rearrange, you don't have to be better at anything.
And if you feel like you can't succeed, you can't
move forward because there are mountains in the path in
front of you. Guess what. I want you to believe
(00:44):
that what God has placed inside of you is far superior,
far greater than the mountains that may be standing in
front of you. The goodness and the dreams that you
have inside of you are far greater than anything that
(01:05):
hinders you. Let me say that again, and I want
you to listen. The goodness the dreams that you have
in your heart are far greater than the perceived mountain
that is standing in your way. Believe that, hang on
to that. Don't give up that truth.
Speaker 2 (01:31):
Hi, Leah, what can I do for you?
Speaker 3 (01:34):
I'm thinking of my son Bill.
Speaker 2 (01:36):
Tell me about Bill.
Speaker 3 (01:37):
He came a long ways in his short life.
Speaker 2 (01:40):
How old is Bill?
Speaker 3 (01:41):
He's thirty four now.
Speaker 2 (01:43):
And what do you want to tell the world about Bill?
Speaker 3 (01:45):
Well, Bill has went through a lot. When he was
nine years old and had a little brother at the time,
a couple of years younger, and their father just disappeared
on us and I was pregnant and he never knew
about it. My son decided he was going to be
the man of the house at nine, and he's learned
to change diapers, he learned to cook, and and we
(02:10):
was really poor and couldn't afford electricity in our house.
He done his homework by kerosene light. And and this
was just.
Speaker 1 (02:19):
Not that long ago. We're not talking a hundred years ago.
We're talking right twenty five years ago.
Speaker 3 (02:24):
Yeah, And he was a high grade point average and
stayed in the rotc all those years in school. And
and after he got out of there, he went into
National Guard for a while and and uh he was
with a medical unit and uh, but now he's with
(02:45):
a helicopters. He flies though who And I think he's
really came a long ways by doing that kind of
thing and getting his education the way he did.
Speaker 1 (02:53):
And so he had a persevering spirit exactly, refused to cave.
Speaker 2 (02:58):
And to give in or to give. He said, I'm
going to rise above it.
Speaker 3 (03:02):
Yes he did, yes, and he's this society. Was going
to be a big brother and daddy and everything at
the same time. I mean, nine year old boys, you're
gonna see that's going to change a diaper because he's
done an awesome job. And he's got a family now
and three children of his own, and he's he's making
a good go of it.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
And you're a proud mama.
Speaker 3 (03:23):
Oh, yes, of course.
Speaker 2 (03:31):
Hi, good evening.
Speaker 4 (03:31):
Who's this, Hi, Delilah. It's Christina.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
Hi Christina. What can I do for you?
Speaker 4 (03:36):
I like to dedicate a song from my daughter who's
being my strength and my dear angel going through cancer
five years ago.
Speaker 2 (03:46):
You want to dedicate a song to your daughter?
Speaker 1 (03:49):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (03:49):
Okay, what's her name?
Speaker 4 (03:51):
It's Elizabeth.
Speaker 2 (03:52):
Her name is Elizabeth, and she went through cancer or
you fought cancer?
Speaker 4 (03:55):
No, no, I fought cancer. But she's been my inspiration
throughout five okay. And she went with me to the
hospital today after five years, and I heard nothing but
positive and wonderful things from the doctor. And she keeps
inspiring me to go on and then go through this
wonderful life with her.
Speaker 2 (04:16):
And how old is she now?
Speaker 4 (04:17):
She's nineteen. She was fourteen when I was diagnosed.
Speaker 2 (04:20):
Wow, what kind of cancer?
Speaker 3 (04:21):
Rest? What else?
Speaker 2 (04:23):
What else? That's what about?
Speaker 1 (04:25):
Ninety percent of women call me that have have battled,
and thank god, after five years you've won.
Speaker 4 (04:32):
I think I have, yes, and I think I have
a long time to go and.
Speaker 2 (04:36):
A lot of other women to inspire.
Speaker 1 (04:38):
And yes, Delilah, let's hope that we.
Speaker 2 (04:40):
Can eradicate that disease in our lifetime. What do you say?
Speaker 4 (04:43):
Thank you so much, Delilah. You have a wonderful evening.
Speaker 2 (04:46):
You too. I'm glad you got the good news today.
Speaker 4 (04:48):
Thank you so much.
Speaker 5 (05:00):
Hello, Roy, Hi, how are you?
Speaker 2 (05:02):
I'm wonderful.
Speaker 5 (05:03):
How are you great? Delilah?
Speaker 2 (05:05):
Good to talk to you. What can I do for
you tonight?
Speaker 5 (05:09):
Well, Delilah just wanted to tell you my story and
might have had a DUI and got arrested and been
through a lot of pain and suffering. And so I
started listening to the radio about a year ago, and
I started listened to your station. And I work in
an emergency room in the evening, and I deal with
(05:30):
a lot of things that happen or I work, and
so sometimes I leave work really stressed out and and
sometimes with a desire to possibly drink or use and
and then I listened to you, and you get me home, Delilah.
Every night I listened to you. I have six months
and been going to AA meetings and also church, and
(05:53):
God is working in my life continuously, and he puts
the right people at the right time. And I never
thought that I would have a love of my life.
And he brought Soriah to my life when they I
was in church in a in a single group and
I just finished praying and I opened up my eyes.
I hear somebody walking in and it was her. So
(06:13):
like that, many many got incidents.
Speaker 1 (06:16):
So how does how do the callers that call into
my show? How does that help to make your night better?
Speaker 5 (06:23):
I realized that definitely, I'm not the only one, and
there's people that have made it. And so listening listening
to what they have to say, and you're encouraging words
and the music that you play, you know, I know
that it touches their hearts and their lives and their souls,
and it doesn't seem for me. That's what that's what
(06:44):
gives me the strength to make the choice of not
going the wrong way.
Speaker 2 (06:49):
Well, let me find a song for you.
Speaker 3 (06:51):
Roy.
Speaker 1 (06:51):
Thank you for calling, Hi, thank you for calling the
Delilah Show.
Speaker 2 (07:01):
Who is this?
Speaker 6 (07:02):
This is Marie Julilah. When I was younger, I had
a lot of domestic violence going on in my home.
When I grew up, I wanted to leave the house,
and basically the first boyfriend I had I got together
with him married him for all the wrong reasons. I
went through a lot of domestic abuse of my own
(07:23):
and things that were very, very difficult. I thought to
myself at that point, I'm too young, but I don't
want anything more to do with men. I had a
bad experience with my dad, had a very bad experience
with my first husband, and then came along Eddie just
as a friend with affecting nothing in return, but just
(07:45):
being a friend who definitely turned into more. I'm a
person who's has a pacemaker. I'm waiting for a donor heart.
He's been by my side through every hospitalization.
Speaker 2 (07:57):
How old are you.
Speaker 6 (08:00):
I am thirty seven. He's never left my side through
any hospitalization. He's been very supportive. I don't work. He
works as much as he can to provide for the
kids and the home. He's just a very sweet person
just picking me up and healing my wounds and just
(08:21):
really unselfishly being there through everything.
Speaker 2 (08:25):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (08:26):
You know a lot of people cause I hands such
a bad day, my mom made me mad, or I'm
not having such a good time my car got a
flat today. But when somebody calls sounding like you, sound
all tipper and in love and stuff and then says, oh,
by the way, I'm waiting for a donor heart, that's
kind of a big thing.
Speaker 6 (08:47):
It is. And those people that you say that are
having a flat tire or a bad day or whatever,
they need to change their attitude to what mine is.
I used to be like that until I found out
that there can be someone who might have it a
lot worse.
Speaker 2 (09:01):
Thanks for calling, Honey.
Speaker 6 (09:03):
Thank you.
Speaker 1 (09:06):
I so hope you have enjoyed these radio moments as
much as I enjoy bringing them to you. I'll share
more with you each weekday on Hey It's Delilah.
Speaker 6 (09:17):
