Speaker 1 (00:02):
Hey, it's Delilah. Thank you for stopping by. I have
put together some of my favorite radio moments here to
share with you on our daily podcast.
Speaker 2 (00:13):
Through you.
Speaker 1 (00:18):
Can probably tell from listening to my show that I
love summertime.
Speaker 3 (00:24):
I probably love it even.
Speaker 1 (00:25):
More because a few years ago, when I remodeled the farmhouse,
I had air conditioning put in. First time in my
life I've ever had air conditioning.
Speaker 4 (00:35):
Hallelujah.
Speaker 3 (00:37):
But I do love summer. I love high school reunions.
I never miss mine, we have one every five years.
I love family reunions, the reconnections of hearts, the wonderful
memories that we share, the old stories and the songs.
I hope you are living every hour, every day of
(00:58):
your summer to the list, and I hope you're making
so many sweet memories.
Speaker 4 (01:06):
Summer. Welcome to the Delilah Show. How are you tonight?
Speaker 5 (01:09):
I'm good.
Speaker 4 (01:10):
I hear little ones in the background. Yes, yes, are
they having a good summer?
Speaker 5 (01:15):
Oh, they're loving it.
Speaker 4 (01:17):
How many are they your children?
Speaker 5 (01:19):
Yes, they're mine. I have two toddlers, am two and.
Speaker 6 (01:21):
A three year old.
Speaker 4 (01:22):
Oh you got your hands full.
Speaker 1 (01:25):
Yes, these are the years when you say what one
doesn't think of the other one does right, right.
Speaker 5 (01:31):
They plan things when I'm not looking, of.
Speaker 1 (01:33):
Course they do, and then they have those sweet little
angelic faces like us.
Speaker 5 (01:40):
I didn't do it.
Speaker 1 (01:41):
I didn't throw that ball in the toilet, exactly, exactly.
Speaker 4 (01:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:46):
When my Zach was two, I had to call a
plumber because my toilet was stopped up, and when he
came over, my senate actually exploded the pipe in the
toilet by putting a.
Speaker 4 (01:58):
Ball about the size of a tin ball and flushing
it down. Oh no, and the pressure.
Speaker 1 (02:03):
Built up and exploded the pipe.
Speaker 5 (02:06):
I think it's a boy thing. I never went through
this with my daughter.
Speaker 1 (02:10):
I think it's just a boy thing, the toilet fascination.
Speaker 5 (02:14):
And just I mean, just getting into some things that
he should not be getting. Jumping off the table, jumping
off the couch. I don't know. I never had to
deal with this with my daughter, she's three now.
Speaker 1 (02:25):
I walked in on my son when he was ten
months old, and he had climbed up on the counter
and up on top of the refrigerator and he jumped
off the refrigerator.
Speaker 4 (02:33):
Thank god I caught him.
Speaker 5 (02:36):
I catched my two year old son in the middle
of the night, going into the pantry and just sitting
on the floor and eating cookies or whatever else he
can get his hands on. He got a hold of
some garlic one time, which he didn't really care.
Speaker 4 (02:49):
Let me play a song for you tonight. Okay, bye
bye bye.
Speaker 1 (02:53):
Bye, Kindra High, thank you for calling.
Speaker 4 (03:02):
This is Delilah. How are you tonight?
Speaker 7 (03:04):
I'm taught.
Speaker 4 (03:06):
What can I do to cool you down tonight?
Speaker 7 (03:09):
Well, I don't know how cooling down it's going to be,
but I would love to do a dedication tonight to
my mother. It is her seventieth birthday today, and she
is such an incredible woman. She's so special to her family.
Eighteen years ago, I had a diagnosis of n stage
leukemia and was not expected to live. And we did
(03:33):
a lot of research and we found that we could
explore bone marrow transplant, and long story short, my sister
was a match for me, and we went through bone
marrow transplants and I am still here. My mom was
my caregiver every single day. I don't know what I
would have done without her. I've just never known. I've
(03:54):
known a lot of people, and I've never known anyone
like my mom. Everybody that knows her loves her, and
she's well known in her town for being the banana
bread lady and the brownie lady. And people come to
her house and she doesn't even know and they want brownie.
Speaker 5 (04:09):
And she gives them to them.
Speaker 7 (04:11):
It's just amazing. I could not have hands picked a
more wonderful, beautiful human beings to.
Speaker 8 (04:16):
Be my mom. And I am extremely sad right now
because I'm not with my mom. She's all playing bingo
with her sister, and so I'm trying to get the
radio on for her so that she can be listening.
Speaker 7 (04:29):
But I'm on the road going to my thirtieth high
school reunions.
Speaker 1 (04:33):
Okay, So I got to ask, how many dresses did
you fuss through trying on? Going no, this won't work,
okay this, yes, No for your reunion party?
Speaker 7 (04:43):
Oh the heck with that, Dililai, just put them all
in the suitcase, Darling, I'm taking every one of them.
Speaker 1 (04:51):
Well, you have fun enough plans on for mama, and
I hope she wins a bingo tonight.
Speaker 7 (04:56):
I hope so too. Thank you, so so.
Speaker 4 (04:59):
Much, Thank you, Kendra. Hi Peggy, welcome aboard house. Your
summer I was great.
Speaker 2 (05:15):
It's been a blessing. We've got in contact with my sisters,
three daughters that we haven't seen in like seven years,
and now they're spending the weeks with us, and it's
just it's awesome.
Speaker 4 (05:30):
So family reunion time.
Speaker 5 (05:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (05:34):
And why have they been absent from the family all
this time?
Speaker 8 (05:38):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (05:39):
Because I guess the problems. She was sick and she's
got help and she's better. I'm very proud of her.
She's got probably about a year under her belt. I've
got three years under my belt.
Speaker 4 (05:54):
So everybody's getting healthy.
Speaker 1 (05:56):
Everybody's hearts are healing, and relationships are he Yeah, yay.
Speaker 4 (06:02):
I love hearing that.
Speaker 2 (06:05):
And I've got my niece Ashley with me now and
there's awesome to be with all right.
Speaker 4 (06:10):
I'll find a good song for you God, bless.
Speaker 2 (06:12):
You, thank you, go bless you.
Speaker 4 (06:20):
Christy.
Speaker 3 (06:21):
What can I do for you?
Speaker 6 (06:23):
I would love it if you could find a wonderful
song to dedicate to my family. We just got done
at our little state fair. My husband and I took
our three young children and we just had such a
wonderful time. And I love all of them so much
and think every single one of them is the best
out there. And I would love it if you could
find a song. And I can't believe I actually got through.
Speaker 4 (06:44):
So you went to the state fair.
Speaker 6 (06:46):
We went to the fair, and did you.
Speaker 1 (06:49):
See all the animals and ride the rides and eat
the cotton candy candied apple corn.
Speaker 4 (06:56):
On the cob?
Speaker 8 (06:58):
Yes, we did.
Speaker 6 (07:00):
And the cotton candy is a lot of fun with
two and three year old So we got sticky and
had fun and fed the animals and rode the rise
and it was just a wonderful time. And it's just
fun now that my kids are getting a little bit
older and they can do all the rise and you know,
it's just fun.
Speaker 4 (07:20):
Yeah, it is.
Speaker 1 (07:21):
It's one of the best parts of summer. I will
play a great song for.
Speaker 6 (07:28):
You, all right, thank you, Bye bye bye.
Speaker 3 (07:34):
I so hope you have enjoyed these radio.
Speaker 4 (07:36):
Moments as much as I enjoy bringing them to you.
Speaker 1 (07:39):
I'll share more with you each weekday on Hey It's Delilah.
