Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hunting for Answers is a production of the Black Effect
Podcast Network and iHeartRadio. Welcome to Hunting for Answers, a
true crime podcast. I'm your host Hunter, and today we're
highlighting a case that began in February two thousand and six.
A thirty year old woman vanished from her home in Tallahassee, Florida,

(00:22):
leaving behind her car, her purse, and every other trace
of her life. Her family and friends were desperate for answers,
ones that would point to her whereabouts. She was four
months pregnant, reliable and loved by everyone who knew her.
Would started as a missing person case quickly turned into

(00:46):
something darker, a mystery that has haunted the city and
her family for nearly two decades. This is the story
of Ali Gilmore. Ali Gilmore was born Ali Aisha Grimsley

(01:08):
on January fifth, nineteen seventy six. Born and raised in
West Palm Beach, she had moved to Tallahassee for college
and graduated from Florida A and M University. She worked
as a program analyst at the Florida Department of Health
and held a second job at the Public Supermarket Bakery
on Appalachi Parkway. Her friends described her as responsible, determined,

(01:34):
and always reliable, the kind of person who never missed work,
never failed to call back, and seemed to keep their
life in order. At the time of her disappearance, Ali
was four months pregnant. She had recently separated from her
husband and was living alone in her home on Lorraine

(01:55):
Court in Tallahassee's Southside. Thursday February second, two thousand and six,
Alie Gilmore went about her normal routine. She worked her
day shift at the Florida Department of Health, and that
evening she reported to her second job in the bakery
at the Public Supermarket. She finished her shift sometime late

(02:19):
that night and was believed to have returned home to
her house on Lorraine Court. The last verified contact with
Ali occurred just before one am on Friday, February third,
at twelve forty eight am, according to the Tallahassee Police Department.
After that she vanished. She didn't show up for work

(02:43):
the next day, and her phone fell silent. Friday morning
came and Ali never made it to the couple's scheduled
marriage counseling session. Both she and her estranged husband had
missed the appointment. She also didn't show up to work
on Friday, and no one had heard from her all weekend.

(03:07):
On Monday, February sixth, two thousand and six, officers responded
to two thirty one Lorraine Court after a missing person
report was made. When officers arrived at Ali Gilmour's home
on the rain Court, they found her car parked outside. Inside,
everything seemed in place. The doors were locked, her purse

(03:29):
and ID were still there, and there were no signs
of any sort of struggle, but Ali was gone. The
Tallahassee Police Department officially opened a missing person investigation and
began searching the area around her home. Officers canvas neighborhoods,

(03:51):
spoke with neighbors and followed every lead they could, but
nothing led to her. As detectives started to pieced together
her life, they reported that Ali had a relationship with
a man named Dwight Aldridge. In October twenty twenty one,
fifteen years after she vanished, the Tallahassee Police Department publicly

(04:16):
identified Aldridge as a potential suspect in her case. Police
said his phone activity placed him near Ali's neighborhood the
night she disappeared. Investigators believe he had a relationship with
Ali and may have been involved in her disappearance. No

(04:37):
charges have ever been filed against him. Ali Gilmore's family
has spent nearly two decades waiting for answers. Her family
has traveled to Tallahassee several times since two thousand and six,
passing out flyers, attending prayer vigils, and urging anyone with

(04:58):
information to come f forward. Every year, in early February,
they mark the anniversary of her disappearance with hopes that
someone will speak up. The Tallahassee Police Department and the
Big Bend Cold Case Task Force continued to list her
case as active. Reward offers have varied over the years,

(05:22):
reaching up to thirty thousand dollars at times. Investigators have
said they believe how play was involved in Ali Gilmore's disappearance.
Detectives continue to periodically review the files as new information surfaces,
but without new evidence remains or a crime scene, the

(05:45):
investigation has stalled. In twenty twenty three, her case was
formally relaunched through the Big Bent Cold Case Task Force,
a partnership of local law enforcement and community groups dedicated
to solving cold cases across North Florida. Investigators continue to

(06:06):
encourage anyone who knew Ali or who may have seen
anything in her neighborhood on February third, two thousand and six,
to come forward. Nearly twenty years later, the questions remain
the same. What happened to Ali Gilmour after she returned
home that night? Did someone she trust turn against her?

(06:31):
Or was she met by a stranger with dangerous intentions.
Her case has become one of Tallahassee's most enduring mysteries,
leaving both loved ones and a community still waiting for closure.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Ali's family and friends,
who continue to live in a state of uncertainty. I

(06:55):
hope one day they finally get the answers that they've
been searching for nearly two decades. If you have any
information about the disappearance of Ali Gilmour, contact the Tallahassee
Police Department or the Big Ben Crime Stoppers. You can
also submit an anonymous tip through the Big Ben Cold
Case Task Force website. You can find all of their

(07:18):
information in the description box below. As we close out
this episode, remember that sharing Ali's story spreads awareness and

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
