I want to know which one of you white people
have been the beneficiary of the land that your grandparents
stole from Isaac Simmons. I didn't know. Maybe you didn't.

so digger. In the nineteen forties, Isaac Simmons he owned
two hundred and seventy plus acres he was down in Mississippi,
and it were land to have been owned by his
family since eighteen eighty seven. Well, in nineteen forty one,
it were rumors that it will oil in them their
fields in Mississippi. Story hazard. These six white men went
all through Mississippi trying to scare black folks about their land.

Isaac Simmons, being very smart whendn't hired a lawyer, tried
to make sure that the land would stay in his
family's name no matter what. Sunday, March twenty sixth, nineteen
forty four, them six white men pulled up at Eldridge Crib.
Now Eldridge was the son of Reverend Simmons. They told
Eldridge show us the property line. He agreed, but when
he got in that car, they started whipping up on Eldrid.

Jazz said him and his family were some smart in
words for talking to a lawyer. Then they went picked
up his daddy, Reverend Isaac Simmons. They took the two
of them deeper into the property that they owned, ordered
the good rev about the car, and killed him brutally
shot him three times and cut his tongue out. They
let Eldridge go but told him that him and his
relatives had ten days to leave the family property. Most

of the family left the city within the next two days,
didn't even make it to Isaac simmons funeral. Eldridge he
did stick around to attend his father's funeral, but was
taken into police custody the next day. They said it
was for his own protection, but they kept him in
jail for a week despite being the victim. They released
him from jail on April eight, and then he too
left Mississippi and the white men who committed the lynching
