Speaker 1 (00:01):
You want experience during your football season, well, buckle up,
sweet cheeks. We've got all the experience in the world.
This is I want your Flex with Dan Byer and
Mike Harmon. Mike and Dan break down everything you need
to set your lineups, from position rankings.
Speaker 2 (00:22):
To starts and sits. The guys help you make those
hard decisions.
Speaker 1 (00:27):
And now let's get your flex onde here's Dan Bayer
and Mike Harmon.
Speaker 2 (00:34):
Greeny's welcome in another edition. If I want your Flex
Week ten of your National Football League season, Mike Harmon,
Ryan Berschinger with you. Dan Bira'll stop by a little
bit later with the give me one reason, a guy
to start, a guy to sit, and he goes bold
and just pushes all the chips to the center of
the table. Of course, Ryan's got his streaming defense and
(00:58):
final thoughts as we get into the final throws of
week ten, and we'll yeah, we'll move on with a
full slate of games. Remember, bye weeks crush your lineups,
so you've got to really get creative here Philadelphia and
Kansas City and Miami and the Rams, because the Rams
still matter, They're still played football all on a bye
(01:20):
this week, Busch Week ten coming upon us. I'm a
little anxious for my lineups this week, not that I
have a bunch of guys on buy. But while folks
might not think it's the sexiest of schedules, some of
these matchups are. We're on the highway to the danger
zone here. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:36):
Yeah, we were talking about that yesterday, where a lot
of these are good offenses against good defenses, bad offenses
against bad defenses. It's really really hard to kind of
to really understand and predict what to do with this week,
but there are definitely some strong opportunities for points here
(01:59):
and there. But yeah, it's running back is still kind
of a weird wasteland.
Speaker 2 (02:04):
You know.
Speaker 3 (02:04):
I had to pull out Khalil Herbert because of the
fact that he wasn't gonna go, so I had to.
I'm still deciding between Antonio Gibson and Zach Charbonnet from
my RB two, which is not a position I'd love
to be.
Speaker 2 (02:18):
Strange bedfellows all around, And as we sat down to
record this, I mean, look, as we get into the
rankings and hot plays and everything else, you know, there's
a little bit of optimism of where you're at with
the Cincinnati Bengals as a whole. However, neither Higgins nor
Chase was available at Thursday's practice, so we raise our
(02:38):
hand and say, well, we'll rank them with a giant
asterisk as we sit here for the week. So are
you ready to critique some QB running back and wide receivers.
Speaker 3 (02:49):
Let's do it. Let's do it. Let's kick off your
rankings with your top five quarterbacks for Week ten.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
Still sitting in the top five in the Fantasy Pros rankings.
I don't pretend to understand the algorithm them. I want
to protest my ranking in the running back slot. But
you know what quarterback? It says up top five, which
means I might know something. So let's see if we
can continue the hot streak. So number one I got
Dak Prescott. Let's take the chalk against the New York
Football Giants, and where I really think you get some
(03:15):
added value here. Devido is playing quarterback for the Giants,
which means that defense should feast, giving you some short
fields and hopefully Dak Prescott finds the right guy Ferguson.
Forgus he's open against the Giants, all right. Number two
Josh Allen going up against Denver. That's a Monday night
football game. Six month fantasy points per game allowed, two
(03:39):
quarterbacks nearly nineteen per game. Jared Goff going against the Chargers,
you know what their worst bursch. A little bit of
concern in the fact that Jared Goff is a little
bit of a doctor Jackal and mister Hyde kind of
thing Home v. Road, But this is an opportunity as
long as he can avoid Mac and Bosa a tall ask.
No doubt that second and Arry's certainly gettable. Lamar Jackson
(04:02):
going to against Cleveland, we know their second best against
opposing quarterbacks for fantasy purposes. A lot of happiness and
fun times there for the Cleveland defense. But Lamar Jackson
right now the mid season MVP, and I'd like to
welcome everybody on board my bandwagon there. I've been saying
that the last couple of weeks, and you know, it's
really showing out in some of these games. Although for
(04:24):
fantasy purposes in Week nine he kind of hit me upside.
He galu lead me. Let's call it what it is
because they have a blowout win against Seattle. But for
fantasy purposes, yeah, no good, only a fifteen point performance
looking for better here against Cleveland, including him getting active
in the run side of things. And then finally I
(04:46):
mentioned Cincinnati and their issues. I have Burrow fifth, but
obviously an asterisk. We're waiting the final response. The expectation
is that both Chase and Higgins will be able to
gut through and play, but certainly come game day, will
watch that down to the wire as the actives, inactives
and game day reports come through. But I do like
(05:07):
the way Burrow's distributing the ball as a whole, and
I think there'll be opportunities even if it's just Tyler
Boyd the tight ends and Joe Mixon getting after it.
Speaker 3 (05:16):
Yes, the matchup's definitely there for Burrow. Very strong play.
Lamar Jackson is super interesting because he's finished outside of
the top twelve the last two weeks, but it's really
not of any fault of his own one touchdown total
over the last two weeks, and that's because every time
they're getting within ten yards they just give it to
Gus Edwards, and Gus Edwards literally scored five straight touchdowns
(05:38):
for the Ravens over the last two weeks. He scored
three in a row two weeks ago, and then the
first two of their game last week, and then you
had Keaton Mitchell bust off that big one. So you
have to figure positive touchdown regression is coming for Lamar.
So I think this is a great play here because,
like I said, his fantasy numbers last two weeks have
(06:02):
him been great, but it's because he's just had touchdowns
taken away from him. He's still playing very well. This
is still a very high powered offense. He's going to
get into the end zone whether it be passing or
running a couple times in this game. So keep your
head up, Lamar Jackson. Owners.
Speaker 2 (06:16):
Yeah, his efficiency has been brilliant. That The other one
that stood out to me is, like you start going
into advanced stuff of where Josh Allen ranks overall, we'll
get into his secondary options getting into play. But a
guy who's the interception total I think is being a
little bit overblown. Remember the street ball punt check. They
(06:36):
all count the same, but they're not all the same.
All right, let's get into the running back position. I'm
gonna start with a guy who, look, let's face it,
the run game has been atrocious, but he is the
team's number two receiver and that's Austin Eckler going up
against Detroit at home. You've got Keenan Allen stats for days.
Eckler as a receiver remains elite and get a little
(06:59):
bit of space. Detroit's going to try to push the
defensive line up to get pressure on Herbert. What do
you do? Hot route? And then you find Eckler running
routes and finding space in the secondary. Number two Alvin
Kamara going up against Minnesota. He's been operationally efficient and
brilliant since returning from his suspension and makes that offense move.
(07:22):
Christian McCaffrey going up against Jacksonville one of my favorite
matchups of the day, San Francisco and the Jacksonville Jaguars,
because you know, I was the dope that went on
the limb and decided, no, I'm not going to pick
chalk this year because we need some interesting chaos for content. Well,
the Giants suck, so the NFC side of the bracket
has already blown up for me. I got too cute bersch.
(07:42):
Sometimes you just got to stick with simple. But I
also did it on the AFC side, going what about
jackson Jacksonville in the potential path of the least resistance
Now that's fan and that's football overall. But in the
interim we got stacks of stuff. McCaffrey coming out of
the bye week. They're getting healthier for him to have
himself a day. How about this a little breissee Hall
(08:03):
against Las Vegas again. They smoked some cigars and all
of a sudden they're the big bad Raiders again. Whatever
beat it? Hall electric the Jets and Robert Salah adding
between him, Arthur Smith and Matt Eberflus, the metal stand
of Marblemouth coaches talking about their players, their aptitudes and availability.
(08:25):
But what we do know is when they do commit
to giving Hall the football, he is electric. So I'm
going to give a little bit of a price shot
here and then this is my perhaps my plea to
Mike McCarthy. Tony Pollard was once good. He can be
good again. And in this matchup against the New York
Football Giants, the sixth worst defense against fantasy running backs,
(08:49):
the opportunity is here. The opportunity stands for you know
who barely missed the cut for me though, bersch b
Jeon Robinson again, Arthur Smith. It's all matchup base clearly
against Arizona. But it's Arthur Smith will screw us again
and he'll get more carries to John new Smith.
Speaker 3 (09:08):
Clearly, I fully believe that's what's going to happen. I
didn't watch his five minute diatribe about why he's not giving.
Speaker 2 (09:16):
Bare Yeah, it's the greatest. I don't know between that
and the minute forty five of eber Flus that Smith
and I had fun with on our Wednesday show on
Fox Sports Radio Ad Salah hanging out on Michael k.
It really was a great week for coaching and a
reminder find your champion in the room. Whatever you do
(09:38):
for a living, find someone that has some clout, that
believes in you, because even though you keep showing people
you don't belong, you get to keep your job with
b John Robinson. It'll be curious. Do you see the
John new Smith video where they showed him getting up
twenty one miles an hour. I'm mad, No, I didn't.
Speaker 3 (09:56):
Maybe it look I guess we just we keep ripping
Arthur Smith, but maybe he really does know more than us,
and maybe John, who is in fact the elite athlete,
but that we just didn't realize.
Speaker 2 (10:08):
Well, I got it. I mean New England paid him
thinking he was, Yeah, yeah, that didn't work out well.
Speaker 3 (10:15):
But no, I think there's a lot of very tempting
matchups for guys who are in that back half of
the top ten, top twelve to be a top five
play this week. Tony Pollard is definitely one of them. Yeah,
I would expect Pollard to have one of his best
games of the season. And in this matchup, the matchup
is there Breecee Hall. Again, that is a beautiful matchup
(10:36):
for Breeze Hall and if they're they have started feeding
him the ball as solid promised, and this is a
perfect opportunity to feed him the ball in every which
way they can.
Speaker 2 (10:47):
So yeah, they hand the ball off to Garrett Wilson
Waller had so he gets to touch.
Speaker 3 (10:51):
Into that'd be nice. I fully support that movement. But yeah, no,
I think there's a there's some very strong plays there,
and it pushes a guy like Travis Etn just out
of the top five because you've got these these really
tempting matchups with these other guys. And I think again, yeah,
the matchup for Bijon is there, and you would hope
(11:12):
that Arthur Smith treats the matchup nicely for him. But
you know we will see.
Speaker 2 (11:18):
There we go. Let's move to the wide receivers. We
go with the guy who's been painted as a disgruntled
wide receiver, salty whatever, Stefan Diggs going up against Denver.
Their rankings, they're actually making some progress on the defensive
side of things of late, but we know those early
season struggles. Buffalo in one of those we gotta have
(11:40):
it kind of moments on Monday night football at home,
looking for a big spot here for Diggs, and we'll
get into who's emerging behind him, Ceedee Lamb going up
against the Giants, and perhaps I'm overplaying this and suddenly
the Giants come up with the effort of their lives.
But that would show us something that hasn't been on
tape the first nine weeks of the season. Keenan Allen
(12:01):
going up against Detroit. He's unstoppable no matter what what
you got. And the lack of second option other than
Eckler has discussed before. Josh Palmer's not around, Everett is
been hit or miss at the tight end position. The
secondary receivers right, Williams is out, Johnston's not ready yet.
Somehow Keenan Allen finds space. It always amazes me when
(12:23):
you don't have a discernible number two. Guys like him,
guys like Travis Kelcey, they just find these spaces in
a defense to sit down and make big plays. Mike
Evan's going up against Tennessee eighth most Fantasy points per
game to opposing receivers. Love me. You know the matchup here,
Baker Mayfield, Will Levis, come on, let's get it on.
(12:45):
But certainly for Evans the beat rolls on. And then
I'm unraw. Saint Brown going up against the Chargers fourth
most fantasy points allowed to wide receivers and again point
per reception leagues being more the norm than the anomaly
these days. Take your five to seven points as a
starting point and then hope for a little bit of yack.
Speaker 3 (13:06):
Yes, beautiful, beautiful. I think again we're looking at very
strong matchups for across these top five. That that Bucks
Titans game is going to be very interesting for the
leading receivers in that game, because, as you said, Mike
Evans is a great play. There on the other side
of the ball, DeAndre Hopkins has suddenly once again become
a great play, which is which is great to see.
You have the young quarterback just looking at you. You
(13:29):
give a rookie quarterback DeAndre Hopkins, then yeah, he's just
gonna throw him the ball like crazy. Targeted eleven times
last week, only had four catches, but you figure that
that target count is going to remain high because if
you're if you're a rookie who wants to make yourself
look good, just throw the ball up near DeAndre Hopkins
and see what happens. So yeah, d hop definitely a solid,
(13:51):
I think borderline top ten play a receiver, so very
strong top five, and we got a lot of favorable
matchups for guys that will hopefully produce big points.
Speaker 2 (14:04):
Well, we'll get into the hot Plays, Cold Sores, and
the Ninja's coming up here in short order. Mike Harmon,
Ryan Berschinger with your remember Dan Byer stops by later
with the give Me One Reason, and coming up next
we will go into the next book of lists, the
Hot Plays, Cold Sores, Ninja's Week ten, rounding out your
fantasy lineups and trying to get you into the winner
(14:26):
circle once again. That as I watch you flex continues
locked in loaded. Mike Carmon, Ryan Berschinger, thanks for being
with us here. I watch you flex remember to subscribe Evangelize.
It's the holiday season, it's the giving season. And guess
what the link and all the information that you can
get through the iHeartRadio app and certainly this podcast, it's
(14:49):
free to disseminate and you're done. All you gotta do
is cost of a card box of Krans, grab the
nubs from your kids Krans and just say here, I
gave you the gift that gives you keep giving. With
podcasts from US, Ryan and Bow with their Swingshift podcast
as they discuss whether they even want Eduardo Rodriguez to
(15:10):
come to the Dodgers, justin Turner or Bellinger coming home,
whatever the case may be, it's all there for you,
free evangelize, but thank you for being part of the
extended family. Without further ado, let's get to the hot
plays for Week ten of your National Football League season
and Bursch you alluded to it talking about top ten
(15:30):
plays and creeping towards that line. DeAndre Hopkins for me,
one of those guys I've got to start going up
against Tampa Bay defense. Now, maybe I'm over selling this
matchup as the over under is only thirty nine and
a half for it, but when we look at will
levis the one thing and we broke it down after
his initial into playing time, is that he plays like
(15:56):
not only with the confidence but also with and it's
not reckless, although he did try to he force some
throws and trusted his arm a wee bit too much,
but the reality is he's a guy that's gonna go
out and he's not going to play completely conservatively. And
that's refreshing because normally it's the all right, here's what
you can do as a rookie, and we're gonna keep
(16:16):
you on a very tight leash. They're letting him get out,
show his physicality, throw his ability to show his ability
to throw the ball down field and make the most
use of a guy like DeAndre Hopkins, and that's refreshing, right,
playing like guys like Ryan Tannehill or Ryan Fitzpatrick. See
he's planted Ryan Tannehill, which is why he's on the brain.
(16:38):
But Fitzpatrick and some of these other guys where you
just joked as they became veteran players that they were
just throwing into harms wet It's like, well, no, they're
also just stay they're trying to make plays and they
recognize that their run in the National Football League maybe
coming towards an end. With Levis just getting started and
de hop a big play this week Chris Olave up
(17:00):
against the Minnesota secondary. Starting to trust that offense clicking
a little more now that Juwan Johnson is back at
the mid level to help things at the tight end position.
Deontay Johnson had that big game for the Steelers. I
know a lot been made about George Pickens and the
comments from Mike Tomlin who's the anti Salah Eberflus Arthur Smith,
(17:23):
But making plays is Johnson as we see him back
the full health target count is their opportunity breed success
here this week against the Packers in one of those
I don't know, top franchises, top fan bases, and I
really wish they'd bring out those uniforms from a century
ago like they used to. You know, those you know,
(17:44):
bumblebee prison kind of uniforms were really cool. Sam Howell
going up against the Seattle Seahawks. This one kind of
a little bit counter because the Seahawks giving up just
seventeen Fantasy points per game. But I like all the
weapons we've got assembled in like the Avengers in Washington
for Sam Howe Herbert again. Second half has left me
(18:07):
nervous now going on what five straight weeks. Well, we're
not generally generating a ton of offense, but here they
want to win this game. He's going to have to
push the ball. They're gonna have to find another option.
So I'll put him in with confidence. I'm gonna actually
play him in our Guillotine League version. If it goes badly,
you can go bit on him as your next quarterback.
Aaron Jones going up against Steelers to add one more
(18:28):
to that matchup, and then Ramandre Stevenson. Why you're gonna
get up and watch the game from Germany for myriad reasons,
but you're going to get up and watch Ramandre Stevenson
have himself another big day. I like it.
Speaker 3 (18:41):
Yes, there's a lot of great receiving options. Deontay Johnson,
I think is a very strong play, especially in PPR.
Dan mentioned him last week on the ahead of the
Thursday night matchup and that that worked out very well
for him.
Speaker 2 (18:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (18:54):
And with the the Packers are you know, their secondary
is not terrible, but they're definitely a team that you
can throw on. And I feel like that game I
talked about it yesterday in the defensive streams. I feel
like that game overall has potential to be rather low scoring.
I like the Steelers defense over the Packers defense, but
(19:16):
I would play the Packers defense even but I still
would feel very strong with playing Deontay Johnson because I
think that, especially in a full PPR, it's the potential
of him easily getting eight to ten catches is very high.
So a strong play there. And yes, justin Herbert, I
we're hoping that that Chargers Lions game is a shootout,
(19:36):
and it very well could be, so I think that
there's a very strong play there.
Speaker 2 (19:39):
One of the big point totals on the board actually
the highest for the week at forty eight and a half,
the aforementioned Packers Steelers game thirty nine, and the unders
are coming in. I want to say it's sixty two
percent right in the year. Is that the data point
that I was reading a little bit earlier today. So
(20:00):
there you have it. Would you believe that in terms
of making picks, because I always put them up on
my own little Yahoo group and it's well chronicled. I'm
only five games behind my straight up picks with my
picks against the spread. Oh, all right, almost as good
against the number as I am. Straight up. That's the
(20:22):
NFL in twenty twenty three. All right, let's get to
the cold soars and we go big game hunting. A
lot of them hit last week. It was a downside
as many as you recall for most of your fantasy lineups,
unless you happen to have a CJ. Stroud or something.
It was snim pickings at the top of the board.
We already chronicled the Lamar Jackson game as one of
(20:42):
the great examples. Oh, I got huge numbers. No you didn't, Chargers,
I got huge numbers from Justin Herbert, No you didn't.
Trevor Lawrence going up against San Francisco only fifteen fantasy
points allowed per game, and that includes the debacles ahead
of their bye week. So this game is at home,
so there is hope. But he's back end one, high
end two for me this week. Last week's hero CJ.
(21:04):
Stroud all the positivity in the world going up against Cincinnati,
a team that's on the come and a defense that
has really gotten sound play up front, good pass rush,
but the secondary has been fantastic. This is one you
know you're gonna say, I'm gonna chase that forty eight points. Beware, beware,
gust the boss Edwards. You talked about him with his
(21:25):
vulturing of touchdowns left and right. You're hoping for the
end zone this week. Tough sledding against the fourth ranked
fantasy run stoppers in Cleveland, Sakwan Barkley. Look, man, volume
is gonna be there. You're gonna start him in the
entire time. You're just gonna shake your head watching it
be annoying until hoping he breaks one as a receiver
(21:47):
or maybe pops one big run. Dallas top ten against
running backs Kenneth Walker going owing to your Zach Charboney decision.
It's a tough matchup the workloads split Walk Washington mid
against runners. But right now the Seattle offense, I've got questions.
And as a guy who drafted and rosters dk metcalf
(22:10):
in a number of leagues, I don't know that he's
seeing my lineup again for a while, which is tough
when it's him and Gabe Davis. As you can tell,
like the Knight said in You Know the Holy Grail,
You've chosen poorly. Terry McLaurin on the other side of
that matchup against Seattle. Spread the ball around. I know,
I like Sam Howe McLaurin just one, I hang an asterisk, gone,
(22:32):
he's a back end too for me this week. And
then you've got Jordan Addison And you say, why Jordan Edison.
We love us some Josh Dobbs. We love what's going
on storylines for days. He's probably got Marcus Lattimore chasing
him around. Yeah, and Lattimore, I mean the number of stats,
like you know, you're talking about already building his Hall
(22:53):
of Fame candidacy just by putting up a graphic of
shutdown stuff on a week to week basis.
Speaker 3 (23:00):
I fully agree. I think that that's uh, people aren't
going to look at the Jordan Madison decision with enough scrutiny.
I think that's he's definitely in for a rough go
of it because, yeah, Latimore has been fantastic this season.
He's shutting down whoever he is he's facing. So especially
with a rookie like That's, that's gonna be tough going
for him. And yeah, no, I definitely agree that Trevor Lawrence,
(23:24):
the matchup is not there. I think that there are
gonna be guys who are We had talked about it
earlier in the week that c J. Stroud has moved
into that echelon with the likes of Trevor Lawrence. There's
certainly managers out there who have both Trevor Lawrence and
c J. Stroud and are trying to figure out where
to go there. If you had to choose to start
(23:45):
one of those two, where would you go if you.
Speaker 2 (23:47):
Had to choose, If you had to choose, who are
my options against CJ Stroud.
Speaker 3 (23:50):
And Trevor Lawrence?
Speaker 2 (23:56):
I think I'd probably be more inclined to start Stroud.
Speaker 3 (23:59):
I I agree because I think that you can you
can definitely kind of go with the UH coming off
of the big matchup. You're chasing that that high over
under total and if especially if if, if, if chasing
Higgins are a full go for the Bengals. UH, the
Texans will be played from behind and and Stroud will
be slinging it. So you're you're the ceiling there would
(24:22):
be higher with Stroud.
Speaker 2 (24:23):
UH.
Speaker 3 (24:24):
The floor is probably better with Lawrence, but you know,
we're we're trying to win weeks, so you might as
well go for the ceiling.
Speaker 2 (24:31):
Old rule of thumb you get no Laurel Crown for
out running a burrow. And the thing with Trevor Lawrence
going up against San Francisco, you're talking about the pass
rush to talk about them getting healthy. Calvin Ridley is
an enigma at this point. Yeah, watch, Christian Kirk and
Evan Ingram have big games, and Travis Etn is unfortunately
(24:53):
good enough for you if you if you drafted them,
good for you, but and active in the passing game
a bit. But he'll also vulture anything red zone. Yeah,
so I think that's that's where the difficulty becomes, right,
spread him out and he finds that one burst. So
while Lawrence might move you between the twenties, I fear
what happens red zone when it comes to Etn to
(25:16):
kind of snipe your fantasy ceiling.
Speaker 3 (25:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (25:20):
Yeah, Whereas we're not worried about the run game in
Houston right now already.
Speaker 3 (25:23):
No, No, we're we're not worried about it because we're
not considering it at all.
Speaker 2 (25:29):
No, right now, Damian Pierce was a guy coming into
the year. I'm like, oh, it can all work. No, no,
all right, let's get in lastly, a couple of ninjas
before we wrap here on week ten. All right, number one,
Kyler Murray, I have no idea what to expect, but
color me intrigued. All right, Hollywood Brown putting up numbers.
(25:49):
You got Trey McBride. We've talked about a lot this
week as people start searching the waiver wire for the
next tight end. With zach ERTs on the shelf, he's
become the guy Dobbs before. And while I'm not on
board with Addison, I'm looking at the Dobbs rushing totals.
You know, he's got five games with at least forty
rushing yards. There's a touchdown value in a lot of leagues.
(26:13):
We saw what he did with a week. Now, let's
see what he can do with another. So opportunity here
actually practicing and learning his teammates' names again, another run
game outside of Josh Dobbs that we're not terribly worried
about leaching into opportunities. David Montgomery returns going up against
(26:34):
the Chargers. We've watched them struggle against the run power
running game. I know we've got Jamiir Gibbs that'll be there.
He's also a back end number two play for you.
But Montgomery comes back get back to the smash mouth
movement movement that started this season. James Cook. You know,
we incredulously talked about he's a top ten runner in
(26:55):
terms of yardage for the year. Opportunity here against Denver.
They're absolutely terrible in terms of defending running backs. As
we look at the last couple of guys who want
to get into in the wide receiver position. Now one
is on the injury report, so we'll keep an eye
on with an ankle issue. But you know, we got
to have some reason to watch that game from Germany.
And de Mario Douglas is a guy that you know,
(27:16):
next man up. Well, we're talking about New England, right,
Kendrick Born heads to the ir so they're trying to
find other targets for mac Jones, trying to jump start
this offense. And Douglas the latest and he played football
at Liberty Liberty Liberty, so we get to say that
as well. So an opportunity here for deep deep receivers.
(27:39):
The other being a guy we've talked about a lot.
Bversh Khalil Shakir of the Buffalo Bills Monday night going
up against the Denver Broncos. So an opportunity here from
a PPR perspective, a guy that's starting to rise up,
Tim and Dalton Kincaid starting to make their noise. This
offense trying to find its way, and it can't be
all on Josh Allen his arm right now. But what
(28:03):
do we see superhero Ball time and again. But Shakira
guy that I think, at the minimum, if you didn't
if he didn't get picked up in your league on
the waiver wire, he should have been. But perhaps depending
on the depth of your league or people's sensibilities about
what that Buffalo offense is, maybe there's still Gave Davis
fans out there that refuse to acknowledge that another guy
(28:26):
is going to come in and take some of those targets.
If nothing else, stash him on your bench and play
some defense for the stretch run.
Speaker 3 (28:32):
Yes, yeah, I fully agree. I am hoping for some
strong stuff from Khalil Shakir. As I mentioned, I've stacked
him with with Josh Allen, and I think, especially if
you're a Josh Allen owner and Khalil Shakira is out there,
you got to grab him in the event that he
does become wide receiver too. Granted, yes, Yeah, dalton Kin
kid's getting a ton of work and he looks fantastic.
(28:52):
But the fact that.
Speaker 2 (28:53):
Unless he fumbles, I'm looking at you.
Speaker 3 (28:58):
But yeah, no, provides some interesting PPR opportunity because the
more he gets involved in that in that offense, and
you know, if you stack him with Josh Allen, if
he gets that touchdown, that's that that's very nice. Also,
as you mentioned, you kick this off with Kyler Murray,
and Kyler Murray is such an interesting play this week.
The matchup obviously is good with the Falcons if you
(29:22):
have Kyler Murray and and it's I'm wondering like, for example, Okay,
do you would you go Geno Smith against Washington or
Kyler Murray against Atlanta?
Speaker 2 (29:33):
Kyler Murray, Yeah, I think so too, if they're going
to clear him again. I never thought we'd see the
day like I thought we were gonna play the He's
getting closer, right, I thought we'd get a maybe better
orchestrated version of the eber Flus health status of justin
fields of the now closer medically, we're getting there, you know,
(29:56):
just don't want to rush it. You know, he's an
important part of what we're looking to do blah blah blah,
and instead it's like now he's there, he's ready to go,
let's go. Dobbs gets traded, demoted, then traded, and now
Kyler's back. So if you're going to activate him, I'll
push all in. Yeah, I'll be the sucker, especially the
way Gino's turned the ball over, like Gino was on
(30:18):
my list of Ninja's in the original deeper version, and
the entire times that are going I can't, I can't
sell him right now, Like there's look, we talked about
it on the show Smith and I on Wednesday night,
you know where he was all in on Seattle beating Baltimore,
and well we had some fun at his expense, you know,
fun with audio like we're TV Funhouse, Robert Smigel and
(30:41):
company over there on Saturday Live and you know, Frostburg
and Tight Shirt having some fun firing up Jason's prediction
from Friday, but he immediately went against it, going wow,
that was so bad that you know you might be
seeing Drew Lock soon. I'm not quite sure up to
that point, you're still five and three. But the turnovers
concerning from the one the interceptions, but the second is
(31:05):
you know, just fumbling right, taking care of the football there, Like, look,
you're gonna make a bad throat, You're gonna have a
tip ball here, You're gonna have a good read by
a cornerback, or a little bit of maybe a lackluster
effort by one of your receivers. We hadn't fight through
for the ball. I mean, all of those things happen. Fumbling,
I mean, that's the thing that's going to get you
(31:26):
hooked faster than anything. But you're still five and three,
You're tied for the division lead. So he's not going
anywhere anytime soon. But I'm also not quick to say, yep,
start them with confidence this week. Chance.
Speaker 3 (31:38):
One other quarterback name I want to bring up in
relation to Kyler Murray, and that's Brock Purty. I'm seeing
pretty pretty high in rankings, but the matchup is not
great with Jacksonville. He is getting Deebo back.
Speaker 2 (31:51):
But Deebo hadn't done a whole lot. If folks remember
if he had one game.
Speaker 3 (31:57):
Yeah, yeah, So how would you where would you feel
with Rock Purty? And like would you go with the
Kyler Murray over Rock party?
Speaker 2 (32:06):
I think, looking at my fantasy ceiling, I'd go Kyler,
if I just want to play it straight and know
that I'm going to get my whatever it is, two
twenty five and one and a half touchdowns, because I
would guess that's probably your line out there for prop bets.
It's really just a do you think McCaffrey scores off
(32:28):
a pass or is he vultering the run? Yeah? Right
with Purdy, I don't know that I can trust against
that Jacksonville defense, which has quietly been very good. As
much as we talk about ETN and Trevor Lawrence and
everything else, the defense is pretty good and they'll bring it.
So yeah, Purty, I would slot behind Murray if we're
(32:50):
looking for ceiling. Now, if you're just looking for a
straight base and you want fewer questions, sure, but you know, again,
we're we're trying to go for the downs and win
toward a title. We're not, you know, trying to run
out the clock and failing to grasp the time down
in distance. We're not Mike McCarthy here. We play to
(33:15):
win the game. So yeah, Kyler Murray, Look, yeah, I'm intrigued,
like that's probably the while I'm not intrigued necessarily about
an Arizona Atlanta. I mean they're putting them back in
in Week ten when you have the number one draft
pick right now. That shows, hey, he must really be
(33:37):
ready or I don't know, like or you're just trying
to showcase him for an offseason trade, perhaps to show
that he's healthy. Either way, you're putting him in in
live action and you've got a couple of weapons there.
So I'll take that because you're also clearing him. That
means he should be able to do everything that Kyler
(33:58):
Murray does, which means the game is in effect.
Speaker 3 (34:02):
Would you go, Desmond, I'm kidding, well.
Speaker 2 (34:07):
If he sees the field, all hell has broken list,
although with Arthur Smith you never can't tell you no,
it's a tough one. Right as you get to the
back end of the QB ones, there's a couple of
great matchups right where we talk about Sam Howe, we
talk about maybe Russell Wilson even right going against Buffalo.
(34:27):
But then you've got smacking speck dab in the middle
of it, Stroud, pretty Lawrence. If you look at the
consensus Fantasy Pros rankings, those guys are are back back
end top ten, and all three of those matchups are
absolutely potentially disastrous.
Speaker 3 (34:43):
Yep, yeah, absolutely, Yeah, it's a it's that That's what
we were talking about, where it needs a bit of
a weird week because you have these weird situations where
these are great offenses, but they're going up against very
strong defenses and you just it's it's really hard to tell.
Because this is why matchups are so important, because it's
very easy that you could fall into a trap.
Speaker 2 (35:05):
There you go with an Admiral Ackbar reference. We'll close
out this segment of I Want Your Flex, Mike Carman,
Ryan Bersching here with you coming up next. Dan Byer
stops by with his give me one reason for Week ten.
You're listening to I Want your Flex and we appreciate
you for it.
Speaker 4 (35:21):
All right, I'm going to wrap this up with the
Bursch here and I want your Flex. Hit them up
at Ryan bursing Er fund me at Dan Byer on Fox.
I give you a reason to start a guy in
a reason to bench a guy, and good news, Bursch
I got two starts this week and on one bench.
The reason being is I think what is a moderate
(35:41):
start if you're in a deep league and this guy
is on your roster. I know you felt burned by
it a week ago, But do you really think Michael
Thomas is not going to have a catch again for
second for the second straight week. Saints take on the Vikings.
I don't know on how big of a shootout that
will be, but I just know one thing that Michael
(36:02):
Thomas will be a target of Derek Carr. So that
is that is my moderate give you one reason to start,
and that's because he didn't have anything a week ago
in their game against the.
Speaker 3 (36:13):
Bears, and it was such an anomaly, right because he's
been the model of consistency the entire season, between seven
and nine targets in every game, at one six target game.
But he was coming down with four or five six
catches every game. He just has Still he has one
touchdown on the season. He got it two weeks ago
against Jacksonville, so because of that he got a boost
(36:36):
to his numbers there. But otherwise it's been very steady
production from him. I would against this Minnesota secondary, I
think that absolutely there's great potentially.
Speaker 4 (36:46):
Especially in a PPR league. Listen, he's not going to
have eight catches for one hundred and sixty two yards.
Those days are not I don't even think they really
ever were there. It was more like thirteen catches for
one hundred and sixty two yards. But the fact is
is they're going to throw the football to him. You
have to at least believe there's going to be some
rebound and some overcorrecting in that in that matchup. So
(37:08):
that's one guy to start, another guy to start. And
this is I've gone back and forth. I was going
to give you a Hollywood Brown, but I'm actually gonna
dig deeper because I think Rondale Moore is available to
a lot of leagues. And so if you are in
a situation where you have Tyreek Hill, DeVante Smith, AJ Brown,
(37:30):
all those guys on by, and you need Rondeale Moore.
The reason why I settled on more is not only
because of his availability in leagues, but also because he
has proved to be a running threat in certain times.
And now you have that threat of a running game
with your quarterback. So if you're a defense, if you're
(37:50):
Atlanta and Kyler Murray is there, and I know it's
his first came back, and they probably don'tant Kyler Murray
running all over the field, but there is a threat
to it, so you do have to account for it,
which could open things up for Rondale Moore. Plus Rondelle Moore,
anytime he touches the football has a chance to take
it to the house. So that's that's my boom. Give
you one reason, Rondale Moore, and the reason being Kyler
(38:12):
murrays back for Arizona.
Speaker 3 (38:13):
Yeah, I like it. With Kyler's return, we anticipate that
you can upgrade all parts of that Cardinals offense. And
he's probably going to look for a second wide receiving
option that he's more comfortable with, you know, because he
hasn't really gotten to work with Michael Wilson much. So
Rondeale has has had success with Kyler in the past.
(38:34):
And I think that's a strong, high ceiling deep play.
Speaker 4 (38:38):
It's very deep for some, but if you are in
dire straits and and need someone, why not roll the
dice and maybe Rondeale Moore ends up hitting that home
run for you. All right, now, it's my turn to
give you someone to bench. Mike had a cold sore
as a quarterback from this team, I am going to
take their running back. I am not believing in Travis
(39:00):
Etn against the forty nine ers just simply because I
do believe that the forty nine Ers defense gets right,
and I don't believe that if you're going to attack
the forty nine Ers defense, maybe Etn does something through
the air. But I'm going to just take a majority
of his grand work and say you're gonna start Travis Etn,
(39:22):
but just don't have high expectations because I think the
Niners defense kind of turns the corner and gets right
against Jacksonville on Sunday.
Speaker 3 (39:29):
Yeah, I can definitely see where that play can backfire
because especially this week, as Harmon and I talked about,
there's a lot of really favorable matchups for different running backs.
Of course, he has Tony Pollard and Breese Hall in
his top five because they have great matchups. B John Robinson.
If Arthur Smith uses him more, it's a great matchup.
(39:51):
So when you have like these these much better matchups
for your top level of running backs, you can easily
see a guy like Etn miss a top ten and
when he's given that level of production throughout the season. So, yeah,
the Niners defense is strong and it's going to be
a tough game. Maybe they're going to force Lawrence to
(40:11):
have to throw the ball more because they do they
are more vulnerable in the past game than they are
in the run game. So yeah, I can definitely see
where where ETN might be not as great of a play.
Speaker 4 (40:21):
I remember a game that the Niners played against Jacksonville,
and I believe it was two years ago, where they
took up the first twelve and a half minutes of
the game with their opening drive where it was just
Jimmy Garoppolo is the quarterback and it was it was
just methodical and time just kept on ticking. And I
(40:42):
think that could be something Niners could do as well.
Trent William's health obviously a question, but you're also trying
to limit the possessions of Jacksonville, and I think that
could play in the forty nine ers hands as well.
Speaker 3 (40:53):
Absolutely, And we talked to Harmon and I a little
bit about Brock Purdy and how it's not that strong
of a matchup for him that if you've c J
Stroud instead, you'd obviously want to pivot there. Yeah, this
is even with Debo coming back, This feels like a
game where the passing game is going to be a
little limited because that Jaguars defense is better than people realize.
Speaker 4 (41:15):
I would put Tyler Boyd in all of this, and
at the time of the recording, the Bengals ruled out
to Higgins, So there could be an opportunity where Tyler
Boord Boyd was available in one of my leagues not
available in another. But if you have a bigger lead,
go ahead and grab.
Speaker 3 (41:30):
Him absolutely, especially if for whatever reason Jamar also ended
up ends up not going.
Speaker 4 (41:36):
Yeah. Limited in practice on Thursday was the latest update
that we got. All right there it is you're one
reason to start, one reason to start, two guys in,
a reason to bench another. And that's it for I
want your flex. In week ten, we will all be
back for a week ten recapit'll look ahead the week eleven,
coming up with you on Tuesday. Plus, Yeah, we're getting
closer and closer to those things giving games, and closer
and closer to the Fantasy playoffs, so you'll want to
(41:58):
keep it tuned here. So for Ryan Burshoner and my
Carmen I'm Dan Byer. We will talk to you next
time here and I want your flex
