Speaker 1 (00:00):
Ladies and gentlemen, you want experience during your football season,
We'll buckle up.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
Sweet cheeks.

Speaker 1 (00:08):
All We've got all the experience in the world.

Speaker 3 (00:12):
This is I Want Your Flex.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
With Dan Byer and Mike Harmon.

Speaker 1 (00:17):
Mike and Dan break down everything you need to set
your lineups, from position rankings.

Speaker 3 (00:22):
To starts and sits.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
The guys help you make those hard decisions and now
let's get your flex ond Here's Dan Byer and Mike Harmon.

Speaker 4 (00:33):
Welcome in another edition off I Want Your Flex. As
it's week thirteen. Get Mike on Twitter at Swollendome. You
can find me at Dan Byer on Fox. Our executive
producer of this show today is Patrick sweek in for
Ryan Ferschinger and who needs to talk about Thursday night football?
Mike Carmen. I am ready to just move on past it.
After the Seahawks break my heart once again losen to

(00:55):
the Cowboys. So let's just look ahead to the matchups
because there's no reason for us to look at the
rearview mirror, none whatsoever.

Speaker 5 (01:02):
Not at all, not even for the fantasy purposes that
I watch FLEX purports to bring.

Speaker 3 (01:07):
There's more to life than just your fandom Dan, I.

Speaker 5 (01:10):
Know the Seahawks broke your heart in moving to five
hundred here, but we had seventy six points. Dak Prescott's
a hero. Tony Pollard found the end zone. Sure he
barely fell forward in his twenty carries, it doesn't matter.
He found the end zone and Ceedee. Lamb and DK
Metcalf emerged for a huge games. Particularly Metcalf. He'd been

(01:30):
on the side of a milk cart much of the year.
Remember he was my number one grievance a few weeks
ago when we did the things we hate about the
early part of the.

Speaker 4 (01:38):
Season, matching the touchdown totals of the season of the
three something that you pointed out off the air, and
I was fully aware as well as a DK Metcalf
share owner in fantasy football dex that actually could have
even been better. Two ninety nine and three touchdowns. The
Tony Pollard touchdown run heck could have to pass. I mean,

(02:01):
for you know, it was a lateral that allowed Pauler
to get the run. But yeah, look bingo crazy like
numbers on Thursday night. Maybe it's a look ahead to
what we got in week thirteen.

Speaker 3 (02:11):
It's not your fault, Dan.

Speaker 4 (02:13):
But a huge bye week though this week. Tons of
buys in Week thirteen, so let's just get to it.
Mike Harmon's rankings at the quarterback, running back, and wide
receiver positions. Mike, let's start it out with your top
five quarterbacks for Week thirteen in the National Football League.
Whether it be daily fantasy or now you're hitting the
stretch run as the playoffs are on the horizon, Mike
Harmon's got for you is top five quarterbacks, running backs,

(02:36):
and wide receivers for the upcoming weekend. It's a big
week when it comes to Bays super high. Yes, it
is a huge week when it comes to buys, So
let's get to it. Mike Harmon's top five quarterbacks for
Week thirteen in the National Football League season without the Ravens, Bills, Bears, Raiders,
Vikings and Giants playing.

Speaker 2 (02:57):
Mike take it away, So.

Speaker 3 (02:58):
Tommy DeVito to rank this week?

Speaker 5 (03:00):
And all right, we start the quarterback position to a
tongue of Iiloa. He's got the most generous defense against quarterbacks,
rolling up Washington, giving up twenty two a game, and
look for Miami looked for twoa to try to get
things right. Still a top five to MVP candidate. But
you know, all of a sudden, the turnovers are starting
to rack up a little bit. They get right here

(03:21):
in a game against Washington, Patrick Mahomes going up against
Green Bay. Maybe we saw some semblance of the offense
to come when they put up thirty one last week.
Opportunity here against the Green Bay second there we'll get
to one of his receivers a little bit where later
we got Brock Party going up against Philadelphia. They're the
second most generous team to opposing quarterbacks twenty two straight,

(03:44):
twenty two even per game, and we know we've got
all the full complement of weapons. This is a game,
you know, just like Thursday's game gave us a lot
of fireworks. I'm really excited to see what this one
gets down to. Right we're talking MVP talk. We're talking
trying to create separate ration to the top the NFC,
and certainly we look at that San Francisco offense that

(04:04):
expect them to put up some points here against Philadelphia,
much like we saw Buffalo Dude last week for at
least quite a while before things went awry. As we
go a little bit further down our depth chart, Jalen
Hurts on the other side against the forty nine ers,
you'd like a little bit of a faster start than

(04:25):
what we've seen thus far. Right, the first half's have
been a little wonky and wobbley, but the numbers have
been there in the end. You need some more Aj
Brown earlier.

Speaker 3 (04:35):
That's one of those.

Speaker 5 (04:36):
And with the injuries that we've seen sustained in the
San Francisco Secondary, perhaps a little more daylight to be had.
And finally, Trevor Lawrence going up against Cincinnati trying to.

Speaker 3 (04:47):
Get that rise up.

Speaker 5 (04:49):
We've seen Calvin Ridley when Zay Jones available, he's been
a little more of a weapon for them. So look
for some magic continue, especially with Cincinnati's offense being as
woeful as it is right now, just outside the top five.
We make our special mention, as we do each and
every week, now, for CJ.

Speaker 3 (05:07):
Stroud. His eminence in his rise.

Speaker 5 (05:10):
Denver's been created a lot of turnovers of late Dan,
but eventually, you know, you regress at least a little bit,
and let's face it, even in the toughest to match up,
Stroud has come to play sure.

Speaker 2 (05:22):
Absolutely. I do want to mention something about Mahomes.

Speaker 4 (05:26):
It's crazy because you know, the Chiefs and Packers aren't
playing each other year in and year out, but the
schedule allowed them to play a game because of the
added game, I believe recently, and we hadn't gotten a
lot of mahomes against Rogers, but we're getting like mahomes

(05:47):
against Love, you know, like here, we've got it again
now on Sunday Night football. So this will be the
showdown and maybe it'll be going forward a rematch of
Super Bowl One. So mahomes be interesting to see what
they do at Lambeau on Sunday night. All right, those
are Mike's top five quarterbacks. Now let's get to the
top five running backs for week thirteen.

Speaker 5 (06:05):
All right, we'll go with the chalk off the jump.
Christian McCaffrey going up against Philadelphia. Look for him to
be active in the passing game. Alvin Kamara going up
against Detroit.

Speaker 3 (06:15):
Same thing.

Speaker 5 (06:15):
I'm looking for that five to seven receptions to get
things started, because, let's face it, Derek Carr is not
pushing the ball down the field, so we got to
take our obligate.

Speaker 3 (06:23):
I saw a lot of cartoons about Derek Carr this week.

Speaker 5 (06:26):
It's kind of weird that They're not just taking shots
at him in written form or in AISI form, but
no also in cartoon form in terms of his acumen
or lack thereof.

Speaker 3 (06:37):
Down the field.

Speaker 5 (06:38):
As we go a little bit further, Rashod White, I'm
about a little bit of a price shot here inside
the top five going up against the Carolina defense, Dereck
Henry against Indianapolis. He's not quite dead yet, right, he
has not found the edge of that cliff like so
many anticipated. And then because of the late week information
on the injury to Jonathan Taylor, welcome back to the

(07:01):
top five, Zach Moss.

Speaker 2 (07:02):
How about that.

Speaker 4 (07:03):
Let's go fire him up. And there was a time
when you know, Taylor came back. They were kind of
two headed monstering that thing.

Speaker 2 (07:10):
You know. Yeah, it was for a bit, sure, Yeah,
But then Moss, you know, fell off.

Speaker 4 (07:14):
And I guess those who were lazy enough and didn't
follow their rosters and just kept him on their bench
or maybe just one of the handcuff are now reaping
those rewards of keeping Zach Moss around.

Speaker 2 (07:27):
I also find Camara interesting.

Speaker 4 (07:30):
Because that Lions Saints game is one that I think
the Lions are going to turn it around. Mike, But
I just I'm not necessarily sure, and the Saints sure
do rely heavily with you know, with the Kamara out
of the backfield, and so an interesting play coming up
in week thirteen.

Speaker 3 (07:48):
On the road. Look, we've talked about it for weeks.

Speaker 5 (07:50):
I am not a buyer of the Lions overall for
fantasy purposes. We've got plenty of guys that find their
way into the line. A couple of cautionary tales for
this week, for sure, But you know, New Orleans, the
defense still has some pride. We have our issues with
how the offense has been run and had. Certainly everybody's
taking their shots at Dennis Allen and predicting him to

(08:11):
be one of what another seven coaches that'll walk the
plank before this is all said and done. Yeah, but
for the Lions on the road, much safer environment there
in Detroit than away from home.

Speaker 4 (08:22):
All Right, Those are Mike's top five running backs CMC
Kamara with Shad White, Dereck Henry and Zach Moss. Let's
get to the top five wide receivers for the upcoming weekend.

Speaker 3 (08:31):
Ye obligatory, sir, mix a lot references.

Speaker 5 (08:34):
You've got to double up you got your two A
tongue of I Loo as the top quarterback. Well, we'll
take Tyreek Hill as our top wide receiver against that
woeful Washington secondary.

Speaker 3 (08:44):
A'man ross Saint Brown.

Speaker 5 (08:45):
As much as I may not be a buyer in Detroit, overall,
this guy seems to find the ball.

Speaker 3 (08:51):
He's a bit of a magnet here opportunity.

Speaker 5 (08:53):
Even if they're short gains, they add up and bpr leagues,
we know how quickly things can escalate when you get
into that eight to ten catch range, even if they're
minimal gains. That's a nice hefty pet point total for you.
I don't know that I agree with it, but that's
the standard we're living to here. Dan Byer as we
go forward, Deebo Samuel going up against Philly. It was
a coin flip between him and Brandon Ayuk, and he

(09:16):
went out for me here in terms of getting fed,
because I think you're going to see him active in
some of the end around game and a little bit
of creativity. Michael Pittman going up against the Tennessee Titans,
Garterner Minshew time once again, and then finally Keenan Allen.
Look that offense may not find.

Speaker 3 (09:33):
The end zone.

Speaker 5 (09:34):
It may sputter at times, but damn it, that guy
finds the ball and he will again at Bill Belichick
anytime he praises you, Right, you don't get you don't
get in a lot of effusive praise out of Bill Belichick,
except usually when it comes to special teams guys punters.
But this week in his comments addressing Herbert and Keenan

(09:55):
Allen Man, you know, he was about as glowing as
Bill Belichick gets, which means not much, but again for him,
it's glowing.

Speaker 4 (10:04):
Yeah, except maybe if he wants that job, you know, Yeah, Yeah,
there's that aspect.

Speaker 5 (10:11):
That's really special. And you know Staley's really done of
a dissert. No, he didn't say.

Speaker 2 (10:16):
That that would have been awesome.

Speaker 5 (10:20):
Well, waiting for it, you know, waiting for one of
the Look, this has been a year where we've had
a lot of coaches kind of talk out of pocket
about stuff.

Speaker 3 (10:27):
Yeah, wouldn't it be great? And Bill suddenly did that too.

Speaker 4 (10:31):
Keenan Allen number five, number four, Michael Pittman and I
know Ryan Bershing are a normal executive producers, not with us.
Patrick Sweek is with us for the next couple of weeks.
But I know Bursch is high and Michael Pittman, I
know you like Michael Pittman. There's stretch that they've got
now and you'd have to take. Heck, maybe even more
so now with Jonathan Taylor out can rely on him.

Speaker 2 (10:52):
So that is going to be an intriguing.

Speaker 4 (10:54):
Play and I think a beneficial play here on down
the stretch so that they are your top five wide
receivers four Week thirteen. Get Mike on Twitter at swollen Doome,
hit me up at Dan Byron Fox.

Speaker 2 (11:07):
We are not done. We've got a long way to go.

Speaker 4 (11:09):
I'll be in later with giving you one reason to
start and bench a guy and also some survivor picks.

Speaker 2 (11:14):
Even though I got knocked out of my.

Speaker 4 (11:15):
Survivor pool, I'm going to continue the tradition because I
feel it's the way that should go and hopefully i'll
lose another one that. Don't kick myself for using the
Patriots last week, but coming up next that's my own
problems that I'm giving you.

Speaker 3 (11:27):
Hey, no, it's a therapy session here, David.

Speaker 2 (11:29):
That's what we do.

Speaker 4 (11:31):
You go sit on the couch and just talk about
why a ten to seven loss to the Giants was
so crushing to me in week twelve, But no, I
think there's some good value in Survivor picks in week
thirteen and some good matchups and some teams that you
probably didn't pick but have prime opportunities to get a W.
So we'll dive into that a bit later. But Mike's
hop plays Cold Soares and then just coming up next

(11:51):
here on I Want Your Flex Hit Mike up at
Swollen Dome, find me at dan Byer on Fox. Today's
executive producer is Patrick. Welcome back to Who I Want
Your Flex. It's now time for the Cold Source Ninjas,
and we start off with the hot plays, the guys
that didn't make Mike's top five, but guys that you
should get in your lineup because of good matchups, maybe
good weather, maybe you just want to play him this week.

Speaker 2 (12:14):
Mike, who are your hot plays for Week thirteen?

Speaker 3 (12:16):
We started the quarterback position.

Speaker 5 (12:18):
Get a little bit frisky with Kyler Murray going up
against the Pittsburgh Steel Sure, he's going to have to
try to avoid TJ. Watt and that defensive front, but
there's opportunity in that secondary. Not quite sure where I'm
finding the love outside of Trey McBride, but looking for
him to make some plays with his legs. And let's
not forget in a lot of these fantasy matchups, that's

(12:39):
what's been the difference maker for quarterbacks these last couple
of years, as the shift of the position has happened.
On the other side, you got Sam Howell who's just
winging the ball all over the place. Is it going
to be pretty not always? Are you going to see
some turnovers? Hell yeah, but against Miami going to keep
slinging it down the fieldptun Tunities do not. They are

(13:02):
a team that gives up about seventeen eighteen a game.
So an opportunity here to play Austin Eckler against New England.
Am I expecting fireworks? No, they don't run the ball
particularly well, But this is where we get our PPR
love and the dumpoffs from Justin Herbert. I got a
bad feeling for this game overall that somehow New England
behind Bailey Zappi and some miraculous band of Merriman win

(13:25):
this game. But that's more just a fever dream than
anything else. But for now, I'm going to look at
Austin Eckler and the opportunity to pile up the cheap
PPR points. B Jhon Robinson looks like they saved him
for good and fantasy owners can now play him with
some confidence.

Speaker 2 (13:41):
Here.

Speaker 5 (13:41):
Look the Jets stink and the defense has now been
exposed a bit more again, running receiving, looking for big opportunities.
They've given up the sixth most fantasy points per game
to opposing running backs this year. And I look for
Bjhon Robinson and the South leading Falcons. Does that sound

(14:02):
right coming out of my mountain?

Speaker 2 (14:04):
So weird?

Speaker 5 (14:05):
Yeah, it's very strange considering how terribly they've played in spurts.
But here's an opportunity, and Robinson taken on a bigger
workload like we all wanted, just at the right time.
You came in just when we needed your most another
running back. When we look at the that Patriots Chargers game,
let's go back to Stevenson. You know we did that
bit on Wednesday, Dan, which is inspired work by you

(14:28):
of how many teams do we have in the NFL
with either one or zero fantasy players?

Speaker 3 (14:34):
Dah, there's your one fantasy player for the New England Patriots.
Let's go.

Speaker 5 (14:39):
I've cited that about nine times walking around talking to people,
So what kind of things do you do on the podcast, Like, well,
you know, we get we get creative time. Dan came
up with it and I started sounds like wow, and
then they started thinking about the teams. It became a
really good long discussion point. So good job by you.
Hopefully we got a couple of subscribers out of it

(15:01):
as well. Here on I watch Flex and then Nico
Collins going up against Denver last two games, he's got
fourteen catch for one hundred and sixty nine yards. He
and Tank Dell, who's back in practice, forming a nice
dynamic duo for CJ.

Speaker 3 (15:16):
Stroud. I look for that to continue this week.

Speaker 4 (15:18):
You know, you mentioned Kyler Murray and Trey McBride McBride
limited in the most recent injury report that we have
as we were taping it. So he's trending towards playing.
And obviously it's on the heels of Zach Ertz being released, right,
you know, ERT's coming off of IR and I know
Zach's probably your second favorite Ertz in the Ertz family, Mike.

Speaker 3 (15:39):
That is right. How about being Julie Ertz fan, No
class about it.

Speaker 4 (15:43):
But this is actually one release that I one hundred
percent and behind because remember zach Ertz was let go
you know, Philadelphia just a couple of short years ago.
Season wasn't really going anywhere. They traded them to Arizona
to be on a winner. Like think about like that,
not that you go because they were heading forward to

(16:04):
the playoffs, and you know, the Cardinals started off the
season unbeaten, and then what do you know, the next year,
the Eagles turn things around completely go to the super Bowl,
while Arts is you know, stuck in you know, Arizona
rehabbing his injuries and so good for zach Ertz, but
just to move this week, I don't know down the line,
if people are looking for tight ends, you know, wherever

(16:25):
he ends up, you'll have to look out for that.
But when you mentioned Kyler just made me think of
the Ertz release that happened on Thursday.

Speaker 3 (16:31):
It is it's quite interesting.

Speaker 5 (16:33):
Not to belabor the point too much here, Dan, but
I mean you're looking at the potential of him ending
up in Baltimore. Talk about you know what they're trying
to do post Mark Andrews and and maybe get a little.

Speaker 3 (16:45):
Bit of a juice there.

Speaker 5 (16:47):
But also you know, just that idea of maybe he
goes back right, Oddard's try trying to get right, and
as we again as we recorded the podcast, trending towards
maybe fighting his way back into the lineup, but certainly
intriguing to me.

Speaker 2 (17:06):
Yeah, that's an interesting story. I know.

Speaker 4 (17:08):
The NFL network is all over it saying that, Hey,
even zach Ertz is like, I won't take a paycheck
this week. You guys just let me go, Like, all right, deal,
all right, let's get to your cold source.

Speaker 2 (17:19):
Usually this is where the Cardinals sit.

Speaker 3 (17:22):
Are there any yeah? This week?

Speaker 2 (17:26):
Okay, not a lot of games, so yeah, cold source.

Speaker 4 (17:29):
The guys you don't want to touch, you don't want
to play, You don'tant anything to do with four week
thirteen in the NFL.

Speaker 5 (17:34):
My man, it doesn't mean that we're not going big
game hunting right here. The first that I mentioned it
justin Herbert. A lot of name recognition, a lot of positivity,
tough matchup. New England might not do a lot of
the offensive things right, they can still come at you
defensively with some acumen. And let's face it, as much

(17:54):
as the Chargers have moved the ball in a bunch
of these games, not necessarily scoring touchdown, not finishing drives,
and I'm not looking for a big effort here yardage,
and then it's the wish and hope that you get
that second touchdown. If you're banking on more than that,
I'd be looking at my other option on my bench.
Jared Goff going up against New Orleans on the road

(18:16):
in this one. They are four and a half point
favorites as we talk, and New Orleans we know sometimes
Derek Carr can't get out of his own way, so
you know, I'm not looking for a runaway and hide situation.
And they do seem to warm up after a spell,
but he's been turnover prone of late. I don't know
that that necessarily curbs itself here, so a little bit nervous,

(18:39):
so I curbed my enthusiasm. Yeah, I just decided to
finish the joke. Cooper Cup going up against Cleveland only
thirteen targets the last three games. Just funny because I
kind of like his quarterback as a counterintuitive thought process
for this week. But we'll get to that in a minute.
But for Cooper Cup, they target numbers haven't been there.
Staffords spreading the ball round, finding the other options.

Speaker 3 (19:02):
AYJ.

Speaker 5 (19:02):
Dillon against case. Sometimes you got to take the low
hanging fruit. He's the starter, he'll get some touches. What
have they done running the football this year? Nothing so
not banking on and suddenly a return to form. And
then I look at DeAndre Swift against San Francisco Dan
tough matchup. And you'll look with the last five games
twenty fifth to fifteenth, twenty fifth, eighth, twenty seventh, and

(19:25):
that's the fantasypros dot Com scoring at the running back position.
So we're looking at three times outside of RB two
territory in the last five weeks, and again go owing
to slow starts, the Eagles have figured it out and
it's really been a fascinating run from a straight football perspective.
From a fantasy perspective, it's been maddening.

Speaker 4 (19:47):
Well, let's also look at it. Let's let's be honest.
The brotherly shove when they get down at the go line.
There are other teams that you can maybe you know,
manage some of that and say, well, at least our
team gets down there. And if they do get down there,
he's usually not going to get that call.

Speaker 5 (20:06):
No, that's right, yeah, or it's going to be a
fake into the line jump pass or something that is
not a straight handoff. So yeah, you're absolutely right of
your worst worst night.

Speaker 4 (20:18):
It really is, except if you have Galen Hurts on
your squad. All right, those are the cold source four
week thirteen. Now let's get to the ninjas. You know,
last week we gave Aaron Torres a tutorial about ninjas.
Patrick Sweek our executive producer, Patrick, do you know what
the ninjas on?

Speaker 2 (20:35):
I want your flex are?

Speaker 3 (20:36):
No, I do not enlighten me.

Speaker 4 (20:38):
Okay, well, I think that it's almost self explanatory. And
again it's a history lesson, Mike, if you will, the
floor is yours to explain how ninjas came about.

Speaker 5 (20:48):
Yeah, we got a little bit of salty and the
term sleeper. We decided it was overused, oftentimes misused, right
because anybody that wasn't a top ten player was suddenly
a sleeper. So then people could pat themselves on their
back saying, hey, I got it right. Every Well, no,
there was still a guy that you would have started
based on traditional rankings, et cetera. So this is the

(21:10):
idea that these guys are popping out of the weeds
and might do a considerable amount of damage.

Speaker 3 (21:16):
Oh, I'm just almost like you can't see you don't
see him coming.

Speaker 2 (21:19):
There's like whoa right behind me? Got it?

Speaker 3 (21:21):
Yes, that's exactly it.

Speaker 5 (21:23):
Right, Yeah, it's the daily fantasy of hey, there's a
low valuation, maybe a big return. Maybe Again, it's a
matchup where on paper it looks rough, but you say
I could find a way. And that's where we start
at the quarterback position. I mentioned Matthew Stafford before. He's
our first ninja for this week against Cleveland. You say
that's a no fly territory. Wait, you just told me

(21:45):
that Cooper Cup is a guy that is a cold
soar right, But I got Pooka Nakua, and I got
Tyler Higbee, and I got that guy named Kyron Williams
that right now, I don't know what the hell that
deal is, but that guy's been on stuff, all right.
We're talking top seven finishes in virtually every game that
he's played this year. And then he comes back out

(22:07):
last week after missing time, going to the ir like
a house of fire and looking for more of that,
both as a runner and as a receiver. Because maybe
this is where you know that strategy the Seahawks tried
to pull off with Michael Parsons works. Here's a free
release of Miles Garrett. So he's out of the play
trying to chase down and scare Matthew Stafford.

Speaker 4 (22:30):
Well, I'll tell you what in dental Ward's got a
shoulder issue that could maybe keep him out and if anything,
may have him limited to that game against the Ram.

Speaker 5 (22:39):
Can you do that in Steve Spurrier's voice, and now
Wart's got a shoulder that's.

Speaker 3 (22:45):
My guy, that's what you call and callback here a long.

Speaker 5 (22:48):
Time here Fox Sports Radio on the Eyewatch back Flex podcast.
All right, how about Kenny Pickett against Arizona. Again, probably
not going to start him in a standard league, but
when we're looking for daily you know, fantasy where maybe
you're throwing a buck in or maybe you got a
little pool with your friends, and I would add pickings
with him because certainly Deontay Johnson, I don't know how

(23:10):
much of the game plan they even gave him this
week after that fumble effort.

Speaker 3 (23:16):
You guys are on air journal that on Sunday.

Speaker 2 (23:19):
It was it was before me, but it was.

Speaker 4 (23:23):
But yeah, it was the the other part of his
the apology by all accounts, in Pittsburgh at least some
of that I read.

Speaker 2 (23:32):
I shouldn't say.

Speaker 4 (23:33):
Oh, the apology was not like, hey, we're good, we
got you man, It was just kind of received.

Speaker 3 (23:41):
Yeah, oh he said his piece because it really wasn't
really an apology.

Speaker 4 (23:44):
Even Yeah, sometimes people have difficulties doing that.

Speaker 3 (23:49):
No, and I get that.

Speaker 4 (23:50):
It's yeah, it's the one thing of being married that
taught me is how to actually apologize.

Speaker 3 (23:55):
God's true, It's true.

Speaker 2 (23:58):
No, I'm sorry that you took it that way, because
that is not an apology.

Speaker 3 (24:07):
Yeah, it depends. It depends on how you're rolling.

Speaker 2 (24:09):
You don't apologize like that.

Speaker 4 (24:11):
If you're out there and you're single, that's not going
to help you, not going to help.

Speaker 5 (24:15):
You, not helping the cause. There, No, there's no question
about it. All right, one more quarterback for you, how
about Baker Mayfield? And again we're keeping an eye on
the injury report opportunity here, and but we're looking at
a Carolina squad that Look, I've made my argument that
I think Bryce Bryce Yak should be in bubble wrap
for the rest of the year.

Speaker 3 (24:32):
But offensively, they're a disaster.

Speaker 5 (24:35):
So even though Tampa hasn't lived up to expectations and
We're hearing a lot of whether Super Bowls finds his
way to the next job after this year, I don't know,
But for Baker Mayfield and for that offense, I'm looking
for some good things at home against Carolina.

Speaker 3 (24:51):
All right.

Speaker 5 (24:51):
Rashid Rice twelve catches fifteen targets, one hundred and forty
nine yards his last two games out target count, trying
to emerge as that second guy next to Travis Kelsey
in that KSE offense. Obviously, we've celebrated the goodness of
Isaiah Pacheco for.

Speaker 3 (25:08):
What he's been able to do.

Speaker 5 (25:10):
And then lastly, I got a couple of running backs
for you, Dan Joe Mixon going up against Jacksonville. How
much can we reasonably expect out of that Cincinnati offense.
He probably makes it into your lineup as a back
end to just based on volume, But boy, I think
you're really wishing and hoping to find some daylight. And
then bress Hall, you know, on that one or none

(25:30):
list the Jets were there. Do you like Garrett Wilson
enough that he's a top twenty four every week? No?
Is bres Hall there because he's going to touch the
ball ten times probably, But all you're really doing is
hoping that he finds daylight for that one big scramble,
that big score, because it's sure as hell ain't coming
out of the passing game to create any kind of balance.

(25:53):
So against Atlanta a very difficult proposition, especially when I
know folks really would have invested, did heavily in him
based on the expectations of him working alongside Rogers had
some proper villains. As I celebrate Don Cheetle with that
line on his.

Speaker 4 (26:10):
Birthday, Falcons jets reminds me of a quick story if
I can.

Speaker 3 (26:16):
Yeah, let's go.

Speaker 2 (26:16):
Do you have any more ninja's that I want to get?

Speaker 3 (26:19):
We did some quick lists this week.

Speaker 4 (26:22):
I'll try to make this as quick as I can.
But Mike you may have known this. Patrick, you don't
know this. But for a while on Fox Sports Radio,
there was a radio station in Australia that had like
our direct number to our studio. Somehow they were able
to call us up and they would ask us.

Speaker 2 (26:41):
Hey, can you come on and talk about you know,
the week in the NFL or sports.

Speaker 4 (26:48):
Yeah, And they'd be out a you know Sydney was
you know, it was a station out of Sydney and
I know there's one of the Perth that's called us,
but yeah, you know, absolutely, and so I said, yeah,
I'm available. It's actually when I first came to Fox,
and I probably hadn't even been there a year. I'm like, yeah, oh,
absolutely do I'm getting worldwide exposure and so yeah, it

(27:11):
was awesome until they asked me how Michael Kernan did
as a punter the past week in that Falcons Jets game,
and Mike I didn't know. I had no idea on, like,
you know, who the heck they were even talking about. Okay,

(27:32):
I think that's who it was, and I had zero
idea if they played for the Jets or the Falcons.
So you know what I did, straight up coach speak.
I was like, oh, it's great, you know, just great job,
just you know, teammates really like them. I can't even
remember who the punter was. It was just but I
just remembered it was a Falcons Jets game and I

(27:53):
just did not know who they were even talking about
because they mentioned Falcons Jets matchup. So I just gave
him a bunch of coach speak and I guess it
was good enough for Sydney, Australia.

Speaker 2 (28:04):
Oh that Yes, got to coach it up.

Speaker 5 (28:07):
You know, we're gonna take it one game at a time. Look,
the hangtime was fantastic. It's full extension.

Speaker 2 (28:17):
It was.

Speaker 4 (28:19):
I gotta find out who it was because and I
just looked up Michael Kernan and he wasn't from Australia,
but it was someone.

Speaker 2 (28:27):
It was someone of the day.

Speaker 4 (28:29):
Yeah, of who it was, and I just could not Yeah,
I just made up the story anyway. All right, those
are Ninjas for Week thirteen of the NFL season. We're
not done here, and I want your flex. I am
coming back with some advice that I hope pays off
a big time both in the streaming Defense Survivor and
in your fantasy leagues. He's Mike Krmen, I'm Dan Byer.
That's next here, and I want your flex. All right,

(28:52):
a correction as we return here, and I want your flex.
The Australian punter was Ben Graham. That's all, okay, you
go Ben punting and Mike, as I remembered the story,
I thought he punted for the Falcons.

Speaker 2 (29:07):
He punted for the Jets during that time. That's what
was for. So it was on.

Speaker 4 (29:12):
I knew it was on one of the two teams,
because when they asked me on the Australian radio show
who it was, I had no idea which team. For
some reason, it stuck in my head that it was
the Falcons. So I still didn't even know seventeen years later,
but yeah, it was the punter.

Speaker 5 (29:26):
With all the things that we have to try to
keep ourselves up with, there's so many Jets, Saints, Cardinals
and Detroit Lions before he finally was done, and for
a while he held the NFL record of oldest rookie.

Speaker 3 (29:42):
So there you go.

Speaker 4 (29:44):
I should have said, his age is really paid off
in that locker room.

Speaker 3 (29:48):
That's what it is.

Speaker 2 (29:49):
He is.

Speaker 5 (29:50):
Veteran leadership really brings him Flay. We were having a joke.
We were talking some NBA smith and I on our
show and we were laughing at the futility of the
Detroit Pistons. Right, you got all these top picks. They're
veteran guys. Are guys from the twenty eighteen draft.

Speaker 2 (30:08):
Wow, that's crazy, guys.

Speaker 3 (30:10):
Who have watched out with other teams.

Speaker 2 (30:12):
Yeah, and how on their slote.

Speaker 4 (30:14):
Well that reminds me of just that tells you a
little bit about the NBA. When John Morant was in
his you know, hot water last season, and they're like
the veterans spoke up in the locker room, and then
you looked at their roster and you're like, well, Steven
Adams is the oldest player on that team and he's
twenty nine. Right, So you're like, all right, I guess
that's who it was, you know, because there's nobody else there.

Speaker 2 (30:34):
But ah, that's today's NBA.

Speaker 4 (30:36):
There's no Ben Graham's right now, dam right, at least
in the Pistons locker room. All right, here's my opportunity
to try to put the expert hat on.

Speaker 3 (30:45):
Let's go.

Speaker 4 (30:45):
Sometimes we actually do strike gold. I give you one
reason to starter guy and one reason to bench a guy.
And I'm going to give you a reason to start
a guy. And this is actually off the heels of
DK Metcalf kind of breaking out of his funk.

Speaker 2 (30:59):
I've I've had.

Speaker 4 (31:00):
Some shares in Evan Ingram with the Jacksonville Jaguars this season,
Mike zero touchdowns on the year. I mean, in fact,
his yardage has not been as great. I am going
to ride this one out. I Am going to continue
to play Evan Ingram until the season ends because at
some point he's going to catch a touchdown and it's

(31:21):
going to happen for him. So Monday that against the Bengals,
why not roll at Evan Ingram's touchdown drought for the
season ends in Week thirteen.

Speaker 5 (31:29):
Well, you look at a guy who's totaled eighty two
targets on the year. Dan. The efficiency's been there with
sixty four catches, So opportunity has been there, just not
finding the painted grass. Maybe a little bit of the
old Jason Witting in him. No, not Jason Witting, the
Monday night football side of him. No, he had what
I used to call the allergy to the painted grass.

(31:50):
But for Ingram, potentially an opportunity, and certainly at the
tight end position, we're trying to find some gold.

Speaker 4 (31:56):
You had the John Robinson as a hot play for
Week thirteen, and I almost was going to bench him,
I think, But I'm not going to I'm not going
to go that big of game hunting. I just think
that the Jets, the Falcons offense will be a welcome
site for the Jets defense. I'll just put it that way,
if that makes any sense. But I am going to

(32:18):
go kind of big game hunting and it goes to
that Lion Saints game. I'm just going to say this
be a little weary of David Montgomery. Good numbers, average
arge per Carrie, fine, Mike, but at times can get
a little touchdown dependent. And with the emergence of Jamior Gibbs,
there's not a lot of reasons for David Montgomery to

(32:40):
catch any passes. So if he's not getting into the
end zone, then maybe his value dips a little. And
so I think it'll dip a little against the Saints
and what I think could be a little tougher.

Speaker 2 (32:51):
Game than maybe we realize. Yeah, you had Jared Goff
and the Cold Soars so along the names.

Speaker 3 (32:58):
No, I agree with you. I think you know the game.

Speaker 5 (33:01):
The workload split's going to be different, difficult to try
to project going forward because Gibbs is starting to show
that he can do a bit of everything. Now, does
he have the same body frame that that holds up
over a long piece of period of time. No, But
we're talking about a one game sample size and try
to decide what to do for Week thirteen.

Speaker 4 (33:20):
Yeah, so we're gonna we're gonna roll out with David
Montgomery here as a as a guy to maybe a
reason to bench, and that's the touchdown dependency.

Speaker 2 (33:29):
Vers isn't here he usually does streaming defenses.

Speaker 4 (33:32):
I like Rams, Chargers and Buccaneers this week, defenses that
should be available.

Speaker 2 (33:39):
With Bailey's appy Mike.

Speaker 4 (33:42):
I know they're going to try to do what they're
going to try to do with New England, but maybe
that would be the worst of the three. But I
think the Bucks against the Panthers to your point about
wanting to protect Bryce Young and honestly, Joe Flacco may
start for the Browns on Sunday.

Speaker 3 (33:57):
How weird is that?

Speaker 2 (33:58):
Yeah, it may take a shit for the Rams.

Speaker 4 (34:00):
I should be available in your league if you are
looking at that crazy man.

Speaker 5 (34:05):
We're strange bedfellows here in Week thirteen, no question about it.

Speaker 2 (34:10):
And finally my Survivor pick of the week.

Speaker 4 (34:12):
Oh let's go all right, I think you have to
go Tampa Bay and there's probably a good chance that
you haven't picked the Buccaneers yet, but if you did,
then I would go Monday Night Bengals Jaguars.

Speaker 2 (34:25):
I just like that spot.

Speaker 4 (34:26):
Monday night football night game for Jacksonville Bengals obviously coming
in without Joe Burrow even though T. T.

Speaker 2 (34:33):
Higgins is expected to return.

Speaker 4 (34:35):
I like Jacksonville in that spot in Jacksonville is actually
a team you probably haven't been able to maximize or
use in Survivor, And honestly, and maybe some of the
weeks that used them they may have burnt you. So
I'm going with Jacksonville and Tampa Bay to Florida teams
looking out for you and Survivor.

Speaker 3 (34:51):
Lease.

Speaker 5 (34:52):
I like that nice hefty spread in that one for
the Monday Night nine and a total of only thirty
nine in that one. Another week where we've got three
games comfortably actually four games under forty for our totals,
and Cleveland and the Rams are barely there at forty
point five.

Speaker 4 (35:12):
Sure Steelers could be another option as well as a play.
They're at forty one and a half for the number
that I got right now.

Speaker 5 (35:20):
Well, now that they're an offensive juggernaut, Dan, this is true.

Speaker 2 (35:24):
Man.

Speaker 5 (35:25):
Didn't you hear they went over four hundred yards this week?
Never mind they could score any points.

Speaker 4 (35:33):
If the NFL Playoffs were decided by the College Football Playoff,
the Steelers would not be getting into the bracket. Just
would not happen. But the NFL is not college football.
So they are in the thicket things.

Speaker 5 (35:47):
Hey, your Ohio State Buckeys are right there, Dan, all
it takes a little bit of chaos.

Speaker 4 (35:53):
Did you imagine the uproar if they got in again
like back dooring it? There would be There would be
And I know that there's a scenario. I know that
there could be an opportunity where they could slide in.
I don't see it happening, but yeah, there would be
quite the uproar.

Speaker 5 (36:12):
I just want chaos, Dan, That's that's really all it
comes down to. I want this weekend to be full
of upsets and weirdness. And like Smith and I had
talked about with the you know, committee member Boo that
got in front and started talking about yeah boot ore
Agan getting after it. When he started referencing Florida State,

(36:33):
he kind of opened the door to you know, they
could win, but if it's not impressive. Those were not
his words, but uh, you know, I'll read between the
lines of what he was selling down there.

Speaker 3 (36:42):
So hey, who knows.

Speaker 2 (36:44):
I love how his real name was Eugene. But he's like, no,
we're going with Boo.

Speaker 3 (36:49):
Wouldn't you go?

Speaker 2 (36:50):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (36:52):
I mean, think of all the movie Eugene's boom come
through you.

Speaker 4 (36:55):
No right, said everybody, and then he stayed saying, all right,
that's gonna do it for I want your Flex.

Speaker 2 (37:04):
Best of luck, Mike Carmen.

Speaker 4 (37:05):
