Speaker 1 (00:00):
I see Daily Game. It's a production of iHeartRadio. What's
Up Besides te You're listening to The Daily Game, a
compilation of motivational quotes I've collected over the years that
I've found inspiring and helped me through the game of life.
Today's quote reminds us that we aren't invincible, even when
(00:23):
we're on top. Everyone is just one mistake away from
prison or death. Everyone. Now you're probably sitting around thinking, now,
come on, man, I don't break the law. I could
never go to prison, or how could I die? You know,
the only thing you have control of, you don't even
(00:44):
really have control of, is this immediate second. This immediate second,
the one that just went by, the one that just
this one. You have a little bit of control of
this second. That's it. You don't have control of the
next minute. You don't have the control of the next hour.
Any fucking thing could happen. People always ask me, They go,
(01:08):
but how's your life? I say, my life is great
as long as I don't pick up the phone. As
soon as I pick up the phone, God knows what's
on the other end of that phone. Somebody I know
could be sick. One of my family members could be
in trouble. Anything could happen. You drive a car, you're
one mistake away from vehicular manslaughter. Anything, someone could step
(01:29):
in front of the car. You get in a plane.
You're in a can going six hundred miles an hour
at forty thousand feet. Anything can happen at any split second,
at any moment. Right now, I could grab my chest
and have a heart attack. So we are so out
of control of our lives. So the theory that you
(01:51):
can't go to jail, and here's something against a lot
of y'all squares need to understand. You don't have to
do it to go to jail. You just need to
be accused of it. You don't have to be guilty
to go to jail. There's a lot of people in
jail that are innocent. You just need to be accused
and have the chips fall in the wrong pattern and
(02:12):
you're fucked. Maybe not you, but maybe one of your
family members. And death. Death is imminent, it's coming, you know.
I say love is not guaranteed in life, only death.
So all of us are sitting in this weird warp
where we're all the same age. I say, we're all
the same age, because you're either alive or you're dead.
(02:35):
We are the age of alive. That's it. Whether you
actually have been here more years or whatever, it doesn't matter,
doesn't guarantee your outlive me. See what I'm saying. We
have to humble ourselves to the fact that one mistake,
one decision, can instantly change the course and trajectory of
(02:56):
our life. And if you know that, you will be cautious.
You'll think about it. You'll think about getting in the
car with your homeboy while he's drunk, or getting into
this particular fight that you don't need to get into
a fight. Something could go wrong and you get in
up paralyzed for the rest of your life. Anything. The
only thing you actually control. You don't control any of it. Honestly,
(03:19):
let me shut the fuck up, because you don't even
control this second. You're just aware of it. And you
can look around and say, Okay, that seems like I'm safe.
But as soon as I stand up and walk out
the studio door, any fucking thing can happen. Everyone is
just one mistake away from prison or death. Everyone, and
(03:39):
we can remove the word mistake. Everyone is just one
minute away from prison or death. It's that possible. This
has been another Ice Cole fact from me Ice Tea.
Listening again tomorrow when I drop some wisdom on your
ass till then, stay safe, stay smart, and stay knowing.
(04:00):
When it comes to prisoner death, we are all equal
and one wrong move might cost you your life. Stay
sharp and keep your circle tight. ICA's Daily Game is
