Would you like to see proof of the power of your choices? It's simple: stop for a moment, and stare at your hands.

Today we talk about all things Palmistry, aka palm reading. By 'reading' your palms, you can see the unique imprint of your life journey. Lines, swirls, feathers, and breaks all make up the distinctive shape of you. Inspired by a listener's question, Brenda and Julie explore this fun and fascinating tool of divination, explaining where the lines are and what they represent.

What do you think about palm reading? Have you, or would you, have it done? Share your thoughts and experiences with us!

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to Insider's Guide to the Other Side, a production
of My Heart Radio. Hi y'all, I'm Julie. Hi there,
I'm Brenda. Welcome to Insider's Guide to the other Side.
Now you all need to know that we are obsessed
with everything on the other side. Yes, we are, because

(00:21):
once you learn to navigate the energetic, or to some
the invisible world, life is going to be more fun
and much more serene. Heck, yes it can, because let's
be honest, Brian, earth school is hard. In fact, you
taught me that let's crush Earth School together. Well, hello,

(00:44):
my WITCHI oh pooh oh. Do we have such a
good episode today? If I can't make that rhyme? But
then it's so excited welcome. I still want to say
welcome back because I'm so excited You're still I don't
have to talk all by myself and in separation and

(01:07):
distance makes the heart grow fonder, obviously, Yes, yes, so true,
so true. I'm so excited for today's episode. I cannot
believe we haven't talked about this. What the hell is
wrong with us? So I don't even know, I really
don't know. We both love palmistry, right, and we've talked

(01:29):
about so many devination tools, like so many. I am
shocked and by the way listeners, I'm a little shocked
at you. Why the hell did you bring it up? Well,
they did inspire it, I will actually they did. Actually,
actually we had somebody that so we actually had a
question from a listener, So everybody else but her. Um,

(01:51):
don't let us get away with that. Yeah, yeah, that seriously,
But whoever, we had this really great question and frustrating
question too, but we'll get to that later. Um, we
will address the question. But that is that's when Brennan
and I were like, holy sh it, can you believe
we haven't actually done a dedicated episode two Palmi street
it to palm read it? What what is wrong with us? Well?

(02:14):
And really this is I feel like it's on me
because it is when it was always my fault. This
time legit my fault because when I back in the day,
when I read terror cards up in you know, the
shop up in Kindred Spirit for three four years, I

(02:34):
sat next to a palm reader every every weekend. And
you know, if when we get there early and you know,
we're setting up, Joan would be walking me through stuff.
She was phenomenal. She Oh my god, she is amazing.
She was so talented. I'd hear her tell things of
timing and and past like this happened five years ago.

(02:56):
I was like, where, what, how does that happen? She
was so inspiring, and you know, I just yeah, so anyhow,
I just can't believe it. I've been fascinated ever since
I met her about it. Totally on you. But here's
something but it's on me too, because let's be honest,
you've actually read my poems before, which is this. This

(03:18):
is what I would say, just so you know, like
I am clearly not. I've never studied other than you know,
talking to Jane every week. But it's it's kind of
like my favorite party trick because because it's very playful,
because I tell people straight up, I'm not I'm not
a poem reader, but I want to look at everybody's
hands and I love it. And the other thing is,
let's face it, when you're holding someone's hand and looking

(03:38):
at it, there's also a bit of you know, um,
just the energetic exchange. Yeah, and a bit of you know,
um what I can't talk it what it's called me
an object to someone? Well, yeah, tell her, tell her telemetry.

(03:59):
That's not it. It's not it's not the way psychometry,
that's what it's called. Oh see, I got the imagory.
I might still have meds in my system everybody, but
I don't know what all your excuses, but I know
what mine's gonna be for a while. Oh my god, classic?

(04:23):
That was classic? But why did we miss that? My
boring episodes? But here's the thing, so I just need
to tell everybody because we're gonna knows. This is when
you did read my palm. When when would I have? Like?
Why did I even say? Why were they even doing that?

(04:45):
I have no idea, but I do remember what you said,
and you're like, I remember doing it, but I don't
know why I would have had either. I don't know.
We're bored. I have no idea. Um, but you're like, oh,
I don't know what that line is. And then I
went and went to cousin Google to go try to
figure out, um, like, well what is that line? I

(05:06):
could not and you found nothing. I guarantee nothing I did.
When I didn't find anything cousin Google, I know what
I failed me because it's not supposed to be a
line there. Oh, never seen that. I never seen a
line there, right, yeah, in the Mount of Venus, I remember,
like it's it's yeah that that line is sound supposed
to be there. Congratulations to me. I don't know what

(05:27):
that means, but it means you're an extra passionate person,
which we know. Sh I'm exhausting to myself and all around,
and you're great, Like you can create. You can create,
right what by the sheer force of your vision, your drive,

(05:48):
your creative force. Yeah, that's my extra line. Yeah, um,
we need to I need to make sure to take
a picture of that so we can show people where
a line doesn't belong. I don't know if they can
cat you know, it's really if if you can, like
if you you know, what would be great is to
put your hand on a xerox like a copier. That's

(06:10):
literally this is how you would do. Often do it
for when you're reading palms, as one does when they
don't know how to do what they're doing. But you
just have someone take a picture. They can take a
picture of their hand, but it has to be in
direct sunlight. But it's better if you actually push onto
not overly hard, because you don't all the little lines
and circles. You don't want to blow those out on

(06:31):
a Xerox machine or a copier. Doesn't have to be xerox, right, Grandma, Hey,
that's it was a long time ago when I did
this fair enough. I'm looking at my printer. I think
I can do it on my printer. Yeah, I'll do that. Yeah,
it's so fun. Well we'll post it was on my
right hand this episode. Well, the thing that's so interesting

(06:52):
about that is when you're reading palms, don't I sound
like a palm reader? When you read poems, um you
the left hand is considered like the blueprint, like this
is your invitation for this journey through Earth school. It's
an invitation of what you'll include, what you'll activate. And

(07:13):
then when you look at your right hand, you'll notice
that the blueprint is usually, you know, parts of the
blueprint have transferred to your right hand, but parts may
be adjusted, they may be inserted there. We could be
total deviations because the right hand is what you've activated. Right,
So this is this is why it's just fascinating to me.

(07:36):
This is the palm palmistry reading is just so fascinating.
I have a whole extra ass line on my right hand,
like that goes down like all the way through. No,
like it's extra Well, think you are really talking about
what is that? Once? You're talking about your bonus life.
So maybe you have a bonus line? Is it near
your lifeline? Is my lifeline? The lifeline is the one

(08:00):
that starts midway between your thumb and your nixt finger
and it wraps around your thumb um it is next
to it. Yeah, so you have about a quarter of
an inch away from it, but it starts up between
of course, by the way, it starts up between my
little pointer and my middle finger. It starts up there

(08:20):
and it literally goes all the way to show me,
show me your hand, show me. This isn't not gonna
be interesting to people, sorry everybody, But it's this one
right here starts see middle finger pointer, it's right down
and goes around And I do not have that on
the other hand. Oh that's the hind Oh yeah, I
don't know what that is. Crazy. I have some fucked

(08:41):
up hands. Maybe a hand model. Yeah, with my short,
stubby hands, that would be good. My nails that are
broken half the time. Your hands, my elfin hands, they
seriously are um. But yeah, that's I did not know
that that is your blueprint and then what you've activated,
and all kinds of things can happen. And if you

(09:03):
do take those those copies of your hands, you can
check them. Like they may not change day to day,
but if you had a series of them over five, ten,
fifteen years, they would look different. Your right hand will
look different. It does like and I'm not sure that
is it possible we didn't see that or that it
wasn't there. Yeah, it is quite possible, because I think

(09:25):
you would have totally noticed that. Yeah, I think I
would have noticed a line that is not supposed to
be No, and it's seriously but it like starts in
between the pointer and the middle. Yeah, and that's the pointer, right,
that's the one way point with the next fingers. Yeah, yeah,
I like like the point you can rename body parts.
It's not a problem. Why not because I can't. So

(09:48):
this is so we're going to talk to us a
little bit more about palmistry and pretend you know that
I'll share with you what the memories I have and
the things that I know. But to think about like
how powerful our choices are that we can see them
in you know, take shape in all our palms, which
is our unique imprint in this life journey. Right, so

(10:12):
so exciting. Oh this is so cool. Okay, we're gonna
take a quick break and we're gonna come back and
holy crap, I'm excited. So we're gonna hurry by, y'all,
We'll be right back. I'm so sorry you guys, we
actually were gone. You don't know this because of Joey,
who actually is our engineered is a beautiful job with

(10:34):
the show. Um, but we just went and analyzed our hands.
So we will take the greatest hits of that conversation.
We're bringing into this part because we're having so much fun.
We're having so much for like, oh ship, we're recording.
We need to get back anyway, welcome back, and Brenda
take it awayte sister, you're gonna like tell us about
some of this. It's just fun. Like it's just fun.

(10:57):
And the thing is, like everyone, you know, most most
people have at least one hand right that they can
if not to. So again, if you just go to
your thumb and you look for the line that wraps
from your thumb and moves down towards the base of
your wrist, you know, towards the base of your palm
to your wrist. That's considered the lifeline. Now we want

(11:18):
to be clear that how long the lifeline is not
an indicator of how long you will live. Okay, this
is a confusion. This is where palmistry gets a bad rap.
This is where people go off the rails and tell
people like, oh yeah, sorry, you're gonna jump early, Like
that's not the deal. Okay, do not do that. Don't

(11:39):
let people tell you that. Okay, So that's important. Then
if you go kind of right above there, sometimes these
lines are joined. Excuse me, but you will find a
headline that kind of goes right through horizontally across the palm,
a little bit downward towards the the little finger side
of the hand right, so it goes from in between
the index finger and thumb straight across. That's the headline.

(12:02):
And so that will tell you information of like how
you process information, how clear you are. Um sometimes if
you're if you're deeply curious, the line will be very
deep things like that. Sometimes these lines that we're going
to talk about, sometimes they're feathered and it says sometimes
you get distracted. Some it may not be like I

(12:23):
do one thing I do it really well, and that's
the only thing I do that's like a very clear line.
If it's feathered, you may be curious about a lot
of things. Sometimes they'll it'll be chained so almost like
you're looking like a necklace chain and there's little loops
through each line. I just want to put a caveat
in here, and says if you're over the age of forty,
get one of those little magnifying glasses that has a

(12:44):
light on it that you can get like for ten
bucks on Amazon or something, because it really helps, okay
to bring it, you know, because you know, as it
get tired and and so this is just a really
good tool to actually see what's you know, because these
whether it's chained or feather, will indicate the energy flow
that you have. And then there's a line. So we
have the one that curls around the thumb, the one
that goes straight down and across the palm, the okay,

(13:11):
that does not help our listeners stop from. Then there's
one that goes from the bait the middle, the bottom
of the palm, the base of the palm up through
the center of the hand, and that's called the line
of fate. And again you want to look at how
deep it is is because sometimes it's very deep, it's

(13:33):
very direct, and sometimes it has little islands in it
that says, you know, you have a lot of choices
of how you're going to activate and how things will
go um. And so these are just things to look at,
and you can google a lot of these things, but
these are just the basic lines that you want to
pay attention to. And then there's one that goes basically

(13:55):
Sometimes it goes um. So it'll go from the underneath
the little finger, maybe by an inch or so underneath
the little finger, and it'll go straight into the palm.
And sometimes it goes all the way up to the
index finger, all the way up in between the index
finger and the fire finger, or sometimes it just stops
in the middle. But this is the line of the heart.

(14:15):
And so as you think about relationships, as you think
about your engagement, you can um you know whether it's
open hearted or when you stand back like you'll see
these kind of characteristics in the quality of the line,
which is these are just fun things to notice. And
how's the right look different from the left or how
are they similar? Is my heart engagement you know, really solid.

(14:38):
So these are my heart longer and deeper than it
is on my left. The one on the right is. Yeah,
that makes sense because you live with your whole heart.
So and then there's that. Yeah, then there's that. And
then some people actually have one, so you know, the
line of faith that goes right through the center of
your palm, right up from the base of the um

(15:00):
up through the center. Some people have one to the
outside to the um, so towards the little finger. Sometimes
there's a line. Not everybody has this one, but it's
a line that goes somewhere um towards the little finger
of that line, and it goes up towards the base
of the little finger, and that is UM. Some think

(15:21):
of it as a line of success. Some think of
it as a line of notoriety. Some think of it
as UM. Like if you're a public figure, like you know,
it can show up in a way that's um, just
kind of public. So you can see like this male,
so my health can see this right this way, so UM,

(15:41):
and it goes up towards so again from the center
of the palm out towards the little finger. UM. And
you know, sometimes it can develop over time, and then
sometimes that will go away, like literally if you step
back from the limelight or you you know, retire or
things like that, and sometimes it grows deeper. So you know,
these are things to just be aware of, have fun with.
So we've complained the last of my elf. She's looking

(16:03):
at her hand. No, I have a question. I have
a question is um um? I know this is called
palm reading, but what about any lines that are like
the fingers like that go kind of horizontal? Um? Does
that count for anything? Or even the lines really clear?
I want to be really clear about Again, I'm not

(16:25):
a palm reader, but these the main lines I'm just
talking about. And you're like literally the first you know,
very very very high level palmistry. The palmised would actually
look at like she or he would hold your hand,
would touch to feel the thickness of the hand, the
puffiness of the hand, the flatness of the hand, and

(16:45):
look at all the little lines swirling like when you
get your fingerprints taken for whatever passport or whatever, you
get your fingerprints taken last time you arrested, things like that,
you know, like like she she would look at all
the little circle lines on your hands. Thus the magnifying glass, right,
But those those little circles are underneath your your digits,

(17:07):
underneath the fingers, that those little lines, and you can
find hashtags in your lines, and you can in your hand,
and you can find all kinds of little stars um,
which are five or six lines that that like are
underneath these in these small mounds um. Because the different mounds,
the little the little um like hills of flesh in

(17:28):
your hands, they they all have energies and they're named
after planets, like this is the mound of Saturn, this
is the mount of Jupiter, like this amount of Venus,
and it's all in your hand. It's just amazing the
length of your fingers, the spread of your fingers. So
if you look at me, like if I'm just talking,
you can see I have a big angle between my
ring finger and my little finger. Like it's just that's

(17:48):
my natural state of expression. And when like I just
did flashback, but when when I see that in a client,
I'm like, oh, they need lots of downtime. Right, So
this is like every little thing about your palm has meaning,
Like nothing's by accident, and it's it's all imprinted right

(18:12):
there in the palmistry. So oh my god, this is
so cool. Okay, well, one more quick break because I
have questions about ship I'm seeing on the side of
my hand, so we'll be right back and then yeah,
and then okay, and then all right, y'all, we're back.

(18:36):
And we only talked about a little bit of stuff
during the break, So we we're back, which is weird
because we could have stayed gone. We're having a lot
of fun, we are. We really enjoyed this a lot,
so because we need to get to the question and
here in a second. But yeah, we forgot our purpose. Um,
but our inspiration, our inspiration. Right. But like on my

(18:59):
right hand, my right hand, um, I have all these
like lines like below my thumb that are just like
there's a ton of them on this side, on this side,
on this side, on the side of my thumb right
here is that the travel lines? What are the travel

(19:19):
on the travel lines around on the little finger side,
there's a little on this side. Well, I got a
ship ton of those two. Yeah. So if you go
on the little finger side of the hand, um, and
you're really not on the palm, you're on the side
of the hand right above the wrist. Lines. If you
have a series of small lines there, you will find

(19:40):
that would indicate a lot of travel, oftentimes global travel.
But if it's extensive domestic travel that would show up,
but oftentimes global travel. And can you see I don't
know if you can see this in the video, but
there's like a little dent in my Oh yeah, I saw,
I see you. Do you have that? Do you have that?
They call that the side get dent. If people have that,

(20:02):
it's like just it's just a dent in the fleshy
part on the outer part of the hand. And if
it's closer to the wrist right, Um, it's just in
this part right here from here to here? Is it that?
And it's hard to see in the camera because it's
it's literally in the flesh. It's not it's not a line,

(20:23):
so it's this is it just kind of hard to
see on camera. In person, you can see it. But
and again this is boring for them? Are you kidding?
They love it, y'all, just tell you love it because
we're happy. You're happy. But if you go above the
heart line right that goes from the little finger up
into the index finger or in between the index finger

(20:45):
and the middle finger, you'll see and you spread your
little finger out on this again, you're on the very
side of the hand. You can see little bitty lines
right underneath the little finger. And those are called marriage lines.
And um, they the marriage lines can indicate like one
can go and be broken one like halfway very short.
Others can go all the way across the you know,

(21:06):
the side of the hand. You can have multiple ones
and they would indicate either marriages or very committed relationships.
And so it's just fascinating to see. And again when
you compare those lines to the left and right, it's
just well, I have one that says John Mayer, and
have one that says Suzanne Taylor points for creativity, extraordinary hands. Well,

(21:32):
here's okay, I'm gonna take another point and then we're
gonna need to get to the question that are amazing.
Listener asked us, Um, so everybody knows who Mona is. Um,
if you don't, you gotta rewind people. Um, but Bona
was our friend that you know, had had jumped from
the car accident. And um, her mother before she passed on,

(21:54):
actually left me her palmistry book from like the nighteen fifties,
Like it's it's an original print. Is that cool? Don't
you remember when I thought I lost it in Arkansas?
And I'm like, we use your little psychic superpowers to
tell me where my damn book is? And you did.
It was in the class exactly where you said. It

(22:14):
was not my gift. It must have been her. I
don't know it was. It was a lot of people
that were helping a sister out. Um. So I am
super inspired. Although it's in storage right now, but I'm
super inspired to like really dive into this. I'm like,
I am so excited about this. It's so fun. It's
such a fun thing to do. It's a great thing

(22:36):
to do. So how about, because we're gonna run out
of our own time here, how about I read the
question um that we asked or that was asked of us,
that inspired us, Um that we asked ourselves, that we
asked ourselves. So this is b J who who asked
this question? Um. And I'm just gonna say out loud

(22:56):
I love her use of emojis like creative, Oh my gosh,
like this is this is master's degree level? Um? So um,
she says I and with eyes, um, I see my
something like that. My mama, she calls her mom. Mama
told me recently about how she had her and by

(23:19):
the way, she used the emoji with the two palms,
the two hands up, I mean looking great. Um. I'm
gonna start again because I'm stopping too much. So my
mama told me recently about how about how she had
her palms done done, not red done, years ago and
got freaked out because she was told she would die young.

(23:41):
Irresponsible seriously um right, well, also inaccurate, not correct because
she's still kicking um. And then she continues and she says,
it made me think about well boundaries. For one, she's
on it, she's solely on it, um, and she has

(24:01):
really funny emojis, but also the validity of it. And
then I have to add what she said here because
I love what she said. This is so fun. She goes,
you could tell us about cheerios and would be entertained. Okay,
thank you. So I said, they like even if they
can't see us, um um. But for real, just to
learn more about its origin, how it should be done,

(24:22):
is it something we can do for ourselves, ETCETERA limitless
kind of thing. So that was her question, and you
know the response is not okay that somebody told her
mother that, even if that person was accurate, still not okay. Well,
this is what I would say if if someone tells
you that, I would be very wary. It's not like

(24:43):
you can't tell time in a palm, because you can't.
There are ways to learn how to do that, but
to say it that way as opposed to there may
be a physical challenge at this stage of your life, right,
That's how I would phrase it. And it could be
you know, I don't know, you have a bunyon, I
don't know. It could be like I don't know. It

(25:04):
could be the smallest thing, it could be death, because
those would both be considered physical challenges, right. Um. So,
like there's a way to say that as a reader.
And so if someone says that there's such a great
gift to you, because it puts you on notice, this
may not be a skilled reader. Right. There may be
other things that were said that were valid or and
or helpful, but it just puts you on notice, which

(25:25):
can be very helpful. Yeah, So if somebody tells you that,
you know what, use your intuition because you're like, you know,
b G. Your mom probably in our gut knew it
wasn't right, um. So just now that's you know, there's
a lot of people out there that like to scam.
You know, we've talked about the scammers right well. And
the other thing is sometimes people actually don't even know
that they don't know. I mean like they know what

(25:48):
they know and it's so much more than anyone around them.
So you know, the one I'm personal end of the
blind situation. But the one thing we didn't we didn't address,
um the origin story of palmistry um. And I don't
know that right. I've never studied it other than being
with Joan, which was much more fascinating to see what

(26:10):
she was reading in everyone's pulse. Um. But my understanding
is that many cultures have this sort of read in
different ways oftentimes, but have a tradition of looking at
your hand as a guide and and sometimes a warning
and you know, just which just packed with information. So
it is very valid. And think about it that we

(26:31):
always talked about keeping your vibe high and the frequency
you you cook in all day. It has impact on
your surroundings. How could it not have impact on your expression? People,
we take your fingerprints for a reason. They're uniquely yours.
Your palms are uniquely yours, your ears are uniquely yours.
Like it literally your frequency oozes out through your entire embodiment.

(26:55):
It is completely valid the day, the date, at the time,
the place we were born to write to even read
about like the length of fingers or how foot is shaved,
or write their relationship to each other, like if you
have a really short little finger, like it really the
length of the fingers to the palms, like all that

(27:18):
ratio matters. My ELpH is showing me and moving her
hands in very mysterious ways. I can't help it because
I have not I have not been this happy about
a topic. And I love our topics. This one is
fascinating and you all can count on us to come
back and do more episodes about this because I think

(27:38):
we're pretty committed to learning more about it. Um, and
we really think b G for reaching out and sing
and I thought it was hold on out. Well now
I'll tell you right now, it's b G. Oh mish,
It's okay. I probably said it wrong. Um, I do
that a lot. Thanks for the inspiration, Oh my god.

(28:00):
And yeah, it was really fun and I just want
to honor Jane who was just such a talent, like
