Speaker 1 (00:03):
Hello friends, it's mister Jim and welcome back to Kids
Short Stories. Today's story comes to us from one of
my friends, Grace. Hey Grace, she sent me an awesome
idea for a story, and you can too. Just head

send me your idea. It can just be a couple

(00:24):
of sentences or something that you think is really cool. Well, friends,
are you ready for a world where there's alien trees?
Me too, Let's go. It was a beautiful day as
Grace and all of her friends were building treehouses in

(00:48):
their neighborhood. Holy smokes, that sounds like an amazing neighborhood
to live in. Whoa that they have a force right
there and they're all building tree Have you ever been
inside of a treehouse before? And you have to climb
up a ladder to get all the way in and
you pull yourself up and then wow, it's like you're

(01:12):
in a different world up there. I love going in
treehouses and treehouses that have walls and windows and even
a roof. Those are the craziest coolest ones. Hey, guys,
have you seen all these vines that are like connected
to all the trees, asked Grace. Uh, I didn't notice

(01:34):
those before, but those are pretty strange looking, said one
of her friends. She was right. All the trees had
this strange vine connected to it that seemed to be
all running in the same direction through the forest. I'll
definitely need to check that out later, Grace thought to herself, Hey, guys,
I'm gonna go grab some more nails and some more tools. Okay,

(01:56):
I'll be right back. Okay, see you, Grace. Grace started
jogging back to her house. At her house, there were
all the kind of tools that she needed, like some
rope and a hammer and a screwdriver and everything that
you need to build an amazing treehouse. All right, I
need some of those and some of these. She had

(02:17):
grabbed a bag and was filling it up with all
the things she needed and wanted to share with her
friends as they were building this amazing community of treehouses.
And then all of a sudden, she heard some screaming, ah, help, help,
somebody help us. It was coming from the forest. Grace

(02:40):
dropped her bag and started running as fast as she
could to the forest. She thought that somebody might have
gotten hurt guys, what's going on? Are you okay? Somebody hurt?
Golf help? We're stuck inside of the treehouse. Something weird

(03:00):
happened in the tree just like closed us in oh.
Grace couldn't believe her eyes. The branches on the trees
had almost It looked like they were hugging the treehouses
and it made it impossible for the people inside to escape.

(03:21):
What in the world happened to those trees, she thought
to herself, and then she saw it. The tree branches
started to move like arms. The trees had come alive.
Grace knew exactly what she had to do. She had
to call into HQ, so she ran back to her
house to grab a walkie talkie. Sh HQ, this is Grace.

(03:45):
I have a huge emergency over sh Grace. What is
the emergency? SH? Something? I don't even understand what happened,
but me and my friends we were building treehouses in
the forest and all of a sudden, it looks like
the tree trees came alive and they've trapped my friends
inside of the treehouse. Do you have any ideas what

(04:06):
could be going on? Sh? I'm sorry, but we do not.
You're gonna need to search around and look for clues.
Look for something that looks unusual, and let us know
what you find. Over sh Grace put her walkie talking
in her pocket and started running towards the forest. She
had to start looking for clues. But what does that
even mean? To look for something strange? But all the trees.

(04:29):
That's pretty strange that they're like coming alive.

Speaker 2 (04:33):
Oh whoose ghose?

Speaker 1 (04:37):
All of our friends were still stuck inside of their
treehouses with no way out. All the branches of the
trees had blocked the windows and the doors and they
were stuck inside of their treehouse. Don't worry, guys, Grace shouted,
I'm gonna get you out, And it's like the trees

(04:57):
heard her. As soon as she shouted her her voice,
the branches started creeping closer to her. Ah, whoa, that's creepy,
said Grace. She ran back to her backyard to find
a safe place out of reach of all those tree branches.
But as she was running back, she tripped on one
of those vines that she had seen earlier. Whoa, owt

(05:20):
uh Wait a second, these vines. I've never seen them before.
I've never seen a bright purple vine before. Wow, very strange.
And then Grace remembered what h Q had said on
the walkie talkie for her to look for something that
was strange. And that's pretty strange. All right, I'm gonna

(05:43):
need to follow these vines and see where they lead to,
because maybe the vines are part of this thing that's
going on, Grace said to herself. But she has to
think about how she's gonna be able to sneak past
these trees because earlier it looks like they were able
to hear her, and so she's gonna have to be
really quiet, and just in case, she should probably wear

(06:04):
some camouflage, right, Yeah, if you needed to blend into
that forest, what would you use as camouflage? I think
I might get some sticks and leaves and, like I
don't know, tie them onto my back to make Oh yeah,
then I could look like a giant bush. What's your

(06:27):
idea for a good camouflage trick in the forest. Well,
I think Grace took my idea and started to build
herself into a bush. A bush that was gonna walk
through the forest. A walking bush, you know, that doesn't
look strange at all. That would be pretty silly to
see if you saw a bush moving through the forest.

(06:49):
I think that would be pretty suspicious, but maybe maybe
we can trick these strange trees. What do you think.
As Grace started to crawl through the forest, trying to
act like a very non suspicious bush, she actually made it.
She was able to sneak past all those trees and

(07:11):
started to follow those very strange vines that were on
the ground. Do you remember what color those vines were? Yes, purple,
very suspicious vines. She got deeper and deeper into the forest,
and all of a sudden, there was a clearing up ahead.
A clearing means there's no trees in the area, just grass,

(07:32):
and she couldn't believe what she was seeing.

Speaker 2 (07:35):
Oh boy, I can't believe how many little kids weit
cutting in those tree traps.

Speaker 1 (07:41):
Yeah, that was pretty surprising that it actually worked. So, uh,
what do you think we should do about it?

Speaker 2 (07:48):
Well, the Bars wanted us to, you know, test it
out with just a couple of trees, and then if
it was successful, then we could roll it out to
all the forests in the entire world.

Speaker 1 (08:00):
Oh no, that sounds like a purple Ninja plan. Are
they really trying to catch all of us inside of
tree traps. That sounds absolutely terrible. How in the world
is Craze going to stop them before it's too late.
I don't know. We'll have to wait and see what
happens on the next episode of Kids Short Stories. Great job,
