Speaker 1 (00:04):
Welcome to Music to our Ears, where we share some
interesting tidbits and stories related to our favorite Lingo Kids songs.
What's going on here, Elliott and Kelly? You're watching cartoons?
We love this one. You've seen it one hundred times. Okay,

(00:29):
maybe not one hundred. Let's open up these curtains. Whoa,
it's so bright, right, it's a beautiful day. Oh, I
can't believe it. You're still in your pajamas. Time to
get some fresh air and outdoor playtime. Why the sun

(00:49):
gives you vitamin D for strong bones. Outdoor play helps
your heart and lungs. Plus it's fun to run, skip, bike, slide,
and play games. I still prefer watching cartoons, Cowie, did
you know you blink less when you stare at a screen?
This can dry your eyes out. Eyes are meant to

(01:12):
look at all sorts of things, some close, some far away,
and some in between. When you stare at a screen,
your eye muscles don't get the practice they need. Natural
daylight is also needed for your eyes to develop properly. Geez.
Kids who are active outside do better in school and
have longer attention spans. Play is good for the brain,

(01:36):
so grab your jackets. And sunglasses and let's go play. Okay, Hey,
someone drew hopscotch squares on the sidewalk. Who wants to
jump me? Whine? Two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight

(01:56):
nine ten, Dan, How funny? Way better than sitting inside? Right,
Elliott Elliot? Where'd he go over here? Oh? A sandbox?
A great place for imaginations to grow. Callie, jump in.
There's a bucket and a shovel, plus lots of toys

(02:18):
to create a world of your own. We need Lisa
good idea. I'll call her. Hi, Lisa, what are you
doing watching a movie? You're bored? We're at the playground.

(02:39):
Come join us. Look nice sand castle, Elliott Cowie. Did
you make the wall out of sticks? Yes? Clever Lisa. Hi,
anyway you got here quickly? I peddled fast. A fun
way to get your heart pumping. Hey, see those four

(03:01):
swings over there? Yes, yes, we can pump our legs
until our toes touch the sky. We can pretend to
fly that music. Well, then let's swing and sing a
song about ways to play outdoors. Ready, here we go, one, two, three, fall.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
Everybody play outdoors. It's a beautiful day to go outdoors.
Let's play outdoors.

Speaker 1 (03:36):
It's a beautiful.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
Day to play outdoors. We escape if we escape on
a scapeboard, right, if we rock on a vice in
the sand?

Speaker 1 (03:49):
Bars dig dig dig dig one two three fall.

Speaker 2 (03:57):
Everybody play outdoors. It's a beautiful day to go outdoors.
Let's play outdoors. It's a beautiful way to play outdoors.
We skate, yes, we skate on roll escates. We hop, yes,
we hop in a game of hops between the one,

(04:26):
two three four.

Speaker 1 (04:27):
Everybody play out doors.

Speaker 2 (04:29):
It's a beautiful day to play outdoors. To play outdoors.

Speaker 1 (04:35):
B pay outdoors.

Speaker 2 (04:38):
One two three four. Everybody play out doors.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
Kay, now that was music to our ears. We hope
you like the song. You can sing it all day long.
How much time are you spending staring at a screen?

(05:05):
What could you do outside by yourself or with friends?
Think about it, Go by until next time.

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
