Enough about that, let's get too Today's super Live Ay
Lewis story. Hey friends, this is part two of Pause
and Whiskers Adventure. If you haven't listened to part one,
head over there. Listen to that one first and then
join us on this story. Is this, Levi started to say,
(00:51):
as not one, not two, but ten puppies ran up
to greet him. I think it is, answered Ivy, knowing
exactly what our brother was asking, without even finishing his question.
Speaker 2 (01:03):
We're in Paws and Whiskers. We're in the village from
the book.
Speaker 1 (01:07):
As Ivy said this, ten kittens ran up to greet
her as well. They playfully rubbed against Ivy's leg and
purred with joy. So happy to have new friends to
play with. The puppies that ran to greet Levi jumped
on him, nearly knocking him over. They barked happy little
puppy barks, letting him know that they were ready to play.
The village of paws and whiskers were unlike any place
(01:28):
they'd ever been, and they wanted to take it all in.
The weather felt like most perfect summer days. The houses
and buildings were all colorful and welcoming. The puppies and
kittens couldn't have been cuter, and the smell.
Speaker 2 (01:38):
Of sweet treats filled the air.
Speaker 1 (01:41):
This place is amazing, said Levi, trying to get every
puppy as they jumped around excitedly. It sure is, replied Ivy,
who was sitting on the soft, cool grass plaine with
her new kitten friends. We need to go explore, But
where should we go first, asked Levi. That's when one
of the little puppies looked at him and said, follow me.
(02:03):
Then he and all his puppy friends ran toward a
small hill nearby. Of course they can talk, giggled Levi
as he looked at Ivy.
Speaker 2 (02:12):
We have so much to.
Speaker 1 (02:13):
Show you both, heard one of the little kittens at
Ivy's feet, as she and her little kitten friends followed
the puppies toward the hill. Levi and Ivy didn't wait
a second and followed close, running behind, wagging happy puppies
and kitten tails as they took in all the sights
around them. The first thing they saw was a sapphire
blue sky filled with the puppiest clouds they had ever seen.
(02:34):
Those are cotton candy, by the way, said one of
the puppies to Levi when he saw him and Ivy
staring at the clouds as.
Speaker 2 (02:40):
They floated by overhead. Wow, said Levi.
Speaker 1 (02:45):
As they reached the top of the hill, Levi and
Ivy looked into a beautiful valley below, filled with the
most lovely flowers they had ever seen, in every color
they could ever imagine. Ivy pointed at a magnificent waterfall
as it flowed into the most peaceful looking pond filled
with water that shimmered and sparkled in the summer sun.
Speaker 2 (03:02):
The water tastes like pink lemonade. In case you were.
Speaker 1 (03:05):
Wondering, said one of the little kittens. When she saw
Ivy staring at the pond or fruit juice or regular
lemonade or whatever your favorite drink is, added another little kitten.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
Wow, said Ivy.
Speaker 1 (03:20):
But that's not even the coolest thing that happens here,
said one of the puppies.
Speaker 2 (03:24):
Check this out.
Speaker 1 (03:27):
Then the puppies and kittens all gave a little shake
of their fur and a set of glittering wings popped
out on each one. Of course, they can fly, said
Levi and Ivy. Together, we share can, said one of
the kittens. And if you want to fly along, just
grab a paw levin. Ivy doesn't hesitate at all. Instead,
they each took a paw of a furry new friend
(03:49):
and were magically whisked away into the wide open blue sky.
They soared through cotton candy clouds, past dazzling lemonade waterfalls
before landing in one of the flower meadows in the
valley below. When they landed, the puppies and kittens began
to run around and led their new friends to the
top of a nearby waterfall.
Speaker 2 (04:06):
As the water flowed into the streams below. One of
the puppies asked Levi he like water slides? Of course,
I do we both.
Speaker 1 (04:14):
Do, answered Levi, pointing to Ivy. The puppy then grabbed
two giant leaves from a beautiful bush nearby. They were
the biggest leaves Levi and Ivy had ever seen. In fact,
they were big enough for each of them to sit
on like two giant leafy floats. Jump on, said the
little puppy as he and the other puppies and kittens
crawled onto the leaves. Levi and Ivy knew they couldn't
(04:36):
miss this and hopked on as well. The waterfall in
front of them magically split into two flowing falls, each
feeding water to a super slippery slide. On the count
of three, Levi, Ivy and all their new furry friends
glided down the water slide, through the waterfall and into
the cool, clear water below.
Speaker 2 (04:55):
That was so fun, called out Levi and Ivy. Let's
do it again. Yay, let's go, called the.
Speaker 1 (05:02):
Little kittens as they got ready to fly Leevin Ivy
back to the top of the waterfall. But suddenly the
kitten stopped, spun around and waited for the puppies to
join them.
Speaker 2 (05:10):
But that didn't happen.
Speaker 1 (05:13):
We'd rather do something different, said one of the puppies.
How about we take them to the ice cream caves,
or go for a jump and trampling gorge, or we
could take them to the cookie and cupcake factory. It's
a taste to treat day, after all, Levine Ivy smiled
so big hearing about all the amazing places and things
to do in the village of Paws and Riskers. However,
(05:34):
they knew they couldn't do all of those fun things
without the kittens and puppies by their side. All of
those things are super fun, but we want to stay
at the water slide right now, answered one of the
little kittens as she tried to fly Leevin Ivy back
to the top of the waterfall. However, she quickly found
out that she couldn't. Oh no, it's happening again, said
(05:55):
the little kitten, when her wings didn't seem to be working.
What do you mean, what's happened again, asked Levi and Ivy.
Speaker 2 (06:03):
It's something that's been.
Speaker 1 (06:03):
Happening lately when we can't decide on what to do together,
answered one of the puppies.
Speaker 2 (06:08):
We seem to lose our magic.
Speaker 1 (06:12):
It just started happy yesterday and we don't know what
to do, said one of the kittens. Levi and Ivy
didn't like to see the puppies and kittens sad, and
they also wanted to enjoy as much of paws and
whiskers as they could with their new friends before they
had to go back home. So, without having a plan
in place just yet, they told the puppies and kittens
they could help.
Speaker 2 (06:31):
Let us talk for a minute, and we'll.
Speaker 1 (06:33):
Be right back, said Levi as he and Ivy walked
toward the edge of the street. Don't you think this
sounds a bit like us when we were in the attic,
asked Levi. It sure does, said Ivy. And Mom helped
us out fight, telling us that we needed to share
our time. We did, and look at us now, having
this amazing adventure two together.
Speaker 2 (06:55):
It's more fun to do things together.
Speaker 1 (06:57):
I think that's why the puppies and kittens are losing
their magic when they can't figure out a way to
share their time, said Levi. It's all about compromise, said Ivy.
Speaker 2 (07:07):
Remember what mom said? Oh yeah, said Levi. But what
does that word mean again?
Speaker 1 (07:14):
It's that big word that means when you and someone
else want different things, so you both agree to give
up a little bit of what you want to find
a solution that works for everyone, answered Ivy. Yeah, like
we did in the attic when we each wanted to
read different books but still wanted to read together. Then
we decided on pause and whiskers, and we are both happy,
said Levi. Exactly, said Ivy with a smile. We just
(07:38):
have to figure out what's something that both the puppies
and the kittens want to do together. Then maybe after
we do all that, they can go back and forth,
you know, each picking an activity or a place in
the village that they want to show us. Levi and
Ivy thought this was a great plan and ran to
explain it to their new friends. As they talked it out,
explaining compromise and sharing time together, the puppies and kittens
(08:00):
started to understand, and just like Levi and Ivy, they
also realized that instead of being right or getting their
own way, playing together and sharing fun memories with new
friends is way more fun than arguing over which activity
to do next. Thank you for helping us figure out
what to do, said one of the puppies. Yeah, thank
you so much, said one of the kittens, and as
(08:23):
she said that, her wings began to listen again, and
she knew she had the ability to fly once more.
Now they were all working and playing together, the magic
was back. The kittens and puppies cheered and jumped around excitedly,
ready to continue their wonderful day together. The furry friends
then decided the next thing they would do would be
something they all agreed on. After that, they would go
(08:46):
back and forth, each picking in a fun activity or
a place to show Levi and Ivy. After a few
minutes of talking, the kittens and puppies decided to show
Levi and Ivy.
Speaker 2 (08:55):
The Space Playground.
Speaker 1 (08:56):
This playground was simply out of this world and filled
with every kind of outdoor plaything you could think of.
Speaker 2 (09:02):
But that wasn't all.
Speaker 1 (09:03):
The playground was contained inside a special dome that made
you feel like you were totally weightless, like you.
Speaker 2 (09:08):
Were floating through outer space. It was incredible.
Speaker 1 (09:11):
Levi and Ivy loved it and couldn't wait to see
where their new friends would take them next. The kittens
won a quick game of rock paper scissors, so they
got the next pick. Levi and Ivy had suggested that
game as a fun way to decide who would start
back and forth, choosing of activities. The kittens quickly chose
another ride on the water slide, followed by the puppies
choosing a journey through the ice cream caves. The day
(09:33):
went on from there with amazing adventure after another, and
as the sun began to set in the village of
Pods and Whiskers, Levi and Ivy knew it was.
Speaker 2 (09:41):
Time to head home.
Speaker 1 (09:43):
They thanked their new furry friends for a truly magical
day and promised they'd visit again soon. Anytime you read
our book, we'll all be here ready for another fun adventure.
Speaker 2 (09:52):
Said one of the little puppies.
Speaker 1 (09:54):
Thank you for teaching us the importance of sharing and compromise,
added one of the little kittens. Today was so much
fun because we all shared it together. Levi and Ivy
said it goodbye to all their new friends. As a
light breeze began to blow through the valley, the wind
got stronger and stronger, suddenly whisking them into the air
and back home. When they finally landed, they found themselves
(10:15):
sitting once again on the two bean back chairs in
the attic. They took a quick look around, and as
they did, they noticed the rain had stopped outside. That
was so much fun, said Levi. It sure was, said Ivy,
and I'm so glad we agreed to share our reading
time so we could have this adventure together. I know
what you mean, said Levi with a smile. It just
(10:36):
wouldn't have been the same without you. As they sat
in the attic going over all the fun things they
had done in Paws and Whiskers, they heard their mom
calling their names.
Speaker 2 (10:45):
Levi Ivy.
Speaker 1 (10:46):
The rain stopped, called their mom as she popped her
head into the attic.
Speaker 2 (10:50):
I'm sure you could both use a.
Speaker 1 (10:51):
Little time outside and maybe away from each other after
all this time inside and what her kids said next
surprised her a bit, but it made her feel really
great as well. Actually, Mom, I think we'd like to
stay up here together and share a little more reading time,
said Levi. Ivy smiled and asked Levi which book he'd
like to read next, adding that she'd pick the next book.
Speaker 2 (11:14):
Levi and Ivy's mom was.
Speaker 1 (11:15):
So proud of her kids, who had worked out their
differences and decided to share time together doing things they
both wanted to do. She left the attic as Levi
and Ivy each picked out new books from their grandparents
wooden trunk, each hoping that the next book they read
would take them on an adventure as great as.
Speaker 2 (11:31):
The last one.
Speaker 1 (11:33):
But no matter what happened, they knew they would have
a great time because they were sharing that time together.
Thanks for joining us today. We hope you enjoyed the
